The steering wheel continues to get stuck/stick when turning curves. Happens whether I go right or left and at different speeds. This has been happening for over a year now.
The steering wheel is sticking when making turns at multiple speeds. We have had this issue for as long as we have owned the vehicle.
The transmission in our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has had issues with slipping, or not engaging as well as violent, hard gear shifts for at least the last 40K miles. We have taken it to the dealership several times, but the dealership said they drove the van and could not replicate the issues. It is important to note that the issues are intermittent and there is no obvious reason why it happens sometimes and not others. There have been countless instances where the van starts rolling forward from a stop and effectively slips into a neutral position before hard shifting back into gear and moving forward. Sometimes when pressing the accelerator at a dead stop the engine revs up before the transmission engages and starts to move forward. Both of these issues create serious risk of being in the middle of an intersection when this happens as the slipping is most often when attempting to accelerate from a dead stop. The hard shifts are very abrupt and startling when they occur. There does not seem to be a certain speed or gear that is more or less likely to trigger the violent shifts but they are occurring more and more often as time goes by. There have been a handful of instances where the transmission shifted gears and initiated a shudder that went away upon the next upshift in gears.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND WOULDN'T SHIFT. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET. THIS COMES AFTER NUMEROUS ROUGH SHIFTS THAT I WAS TOLD WAS A COMPUTER ISSUE ON THE TRANSMISSION.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY,ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET. I TRIED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SPEED UP. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE DIAL TO PARK BUT THE P DID NOT LIGHT UP. WHILE IN PARK THE CAR WAS JERKING FORWARD AND I COULD NOT SET THE PARKING BRAKE. I TURNED IT OFF AT THAT POINT AND TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT YET BEEN SOLVED.

TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!! VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AT LOW SPEED THEN LURCHES INTO GEAR THRUSTING FORWARD AT AN ALARMING RATE. THIS HAS PUT US IN DANGER SEVERAL TIMES. CHRYSLER FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE SAYING THEY CAN'T RECREATE THE EVENT. ON CHRISTMAS EVE THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT COMPLETELY GOING THROUGH A LIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY AND LIGHTS CAME ON AND WERE FLASHING. TOWED IT TO THE SHOP WHERE THEY TOLD US IT NEEDED 'REFLASHED' BASICALLY RECALIBRATED AND THAT EVERY PACIFICA WOULD NEED THIS UPDATE IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THEY ALSO CHARGED US $150 TO DO THIS MANDATORY UPDATE. SOUNDS AS IF THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL. I'M NOT HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE VEHICLE IS BACK TO THE SAME ISSUES AND I KNOW IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. WE HAVE ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS AND ALL IGNITION COILS AS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE JUST BREAKS DOWNS SUDDENLY CAUSE LIGHTS TO COME IN AND BE FLASHING WHILE SHAKING AND NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. IT SEEMS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES BUT WE WILL NEVER TRULY KNOW AS WE ARE LIED TO SO OFTEN WHEN IT'S IN THE SHOP. CHRYSLER CARES IS NO HELP AT ALL!
THERE HAS BEEN MORE THAN ONE OCCASION WHERE MY CAR WOULD SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL OR EVEN STALLS COMPLETELY. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE DECELERATES ON ITS ON AND WHEN IT LOCKS UP FROM THE PARKING GEAR WHILE TRYING TO SHIFT TO DRIVE. MOST RECENT OCCURRANCE OF THIS WAS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2019. ACCELERATION FROM A STOPPED POSITION ALWAYS FEELS LIKE I WAS REAR-ENDED EVERYTIME. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE SAFETY RECALLS AND THE 2 TIMES I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FIXING, I REPORTED THIS CONCERN. DEALERSHIP REPORTED FINDING NO ISSUE AS REPORTED. I HAVE RECEIVED OF YET ANOTHER RECALL IN 2018 BUT HAVE NOT HAD A CHANCE TO TAKE IT IN. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN AND I AS THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE. BUT THESE DEFECTS THAT DEALERSHIP REPORTS AS "FINDING NO ISSUE" IS NOT FAIR. ITS A DEATH TRAP. THESE STOPS, STALLS, DECELERATION AND ACCELERATIONS THAT STARTED IN 2017 AND CONTINUES THRU TODAY IS PRESENTING A SEVERE DANGER HAZARD AND I NEED HELP.
IN THE PAST MONTH I HAD EXPERIENCED ON TWO OCCASIONS, (WHILE IN MOTION AND ON A CITY STREET, SPECIFICALLY ON THE CROSS STREETS OF DYSART AND CAMELBACK AND A LIGHT AT DYSART AND W. SONOMA DR.) THAT WHEN I ENGAGED THE BREAKS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW AND I FELT AS IF THE BREAKS WERE NOT WORKING AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT GOING TO COME TO A STOP. IN THE SAME MONTH, APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AND A HALF AFTER THE LAST INCIDENT, ON DECEMBER 18TH, 2019, MY CHRYSLER, PACIFICA WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. TWO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME CAME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP. I APPLIED THE BREAK BUT MY VEHICLE BEGAN SLIDING AND THE ABS SYSTEM DID NOT SEEM TO ENGAGE. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON LITCHFIELD AND CAMELBACK. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION ON THE ACCIDENT CURRENTLY. I FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I DISCLOSE THE PROBLEMS I HAD NOTICED AND WAS ULTIMATELY TOO LATE TO DISCUSS WITH CHRYSLER. I DO NOT WANT THIS ISSUE TO OCCUR TO ANYONE ELSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VEER TO THE RIGHT MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ISSUES WITH THE START/STOP SYSTEM. THE CONTACT STATED THE START/STOP SYSTEM MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTHFORK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (17725 SOUTH FWY, MANVEL, TX 77578) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE AUXILIARY BATTERY CABLE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V348000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000.
WHEN USING THE KEY FOB TO REMOTELY CLOSE THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR OR THE OVERHEAD BUTTON TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE DOOR OR THE BUTTON ADJACENT THE DOOR ITSELF, IT WILL CLOSE FOR ONLY A BRIEF MOMENT AND REOPEN ITSELF ON AVERAGE, 2-4 TIMES AFTER THE INITIAL ATTEMPT TO CLOSE IT. TWO SEPARATE TIMES THE DOOR HAS SUDDENLY OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, MOTOR RUNNING, WITHOUT ANY BUTTON OR REMOTE BEING PRESSED. SUPER SCARY.
WHEN GOING ABOUT 10-15 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY LUNGE FORWARD AND MAKE A TREMENDOUS CLUNKING SOUND LIKE METAL AGAINST METAL. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT A FEW TIMES A MONTH. IT CAN BE REPLICATED BY BARELY PRESSING DOWN THE GAS PEDAL, USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN NAVIGATING THROUGH PARKING LOTS. VERY SCARY.
HESITATION WHEN I TURN AND TRY TO ACCELERATE. I THOUGHT IT WAS MY GAS BUT I'M SEEING THERE WAS A RECALL ON SOME 2017 FOR THIS PROBLEM. MINE HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I TURN. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED ON THE CITY STREETS WHILE IN MOTION. ALMOST LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL OUT THEN A SMALL FEW SMALL JERKS AND THEN TAKES OFF. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VAN IN MARCH 2019 FROM WESTGATE JEFF WYLER. THERE WAS NO RECALLS FOR THIS VAN BUT I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THEY RECALLED ON OTHER 2017 PACIFICA. IT'S DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES
AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUTOFF SYSTEM SHUTS OFF VEHICLE ON HILLS CAUSING A ROLLBACK ISSUE, SAFETY PROBLEM. IT ALSO SHUTS OFF DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC HEATING UP VEHICLE CONSIDERABLY. SO FAR TWO DIFFERENT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS CANNOT FIND ANY ISSUES. 3 BATTERIES HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN 2 YEARS TIME. TRANSMISSION POPS IN AND OUT OF GEAR BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD DURING CITY DRIVING. NO SPARE TIRE!! PATCH KIT, GOOD LUCK USING IT IF YOU HAVE A FLAT.
2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, 33'400 MILES- HESITATION AFTER PLACED INTO/ SHIFTING GEARS FROM A STOPPED POSITION, 5-10 SECONDS UNTIL THE CAR JERKS INTO GEAR FROM RELEASE OF BREAK PEDAL TO ENGAGING IN SELECTED GEAR. HEATED STEERING WHEEL FEATURE ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY, WHETHER SELECTED FROM SETTINGS WITH START OR MANUALLY SELECTED, ALL CONTROLS FROM STEERING WHEEL GO OUT PERIODICALLY AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MOTION, WILL NOT WORK AT ALL, INCLUDING RADIO CONTROLS, CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON, U-CONNECT BUTTON, VR BUTTON- NOT EVEN THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CONTROLS WORKS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. PURCHASED VEHICLE USED WITH 20K ON IT MAY 30,2019.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR WILL JERK. IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES. WILL HAPPEN WHETHER THE CAR IS DRIVING THROUGH THE CITY OR ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION IS A LIFETIME TRANSMISSION AND FLUID DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ALMOST 6-8 MONTHS NOW.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR AND SUDDENLY, ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND MY CAR SHIFTED ITSELF INTO PARK. I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK DESPITE MULTIPLE TRIES. I SHUT THE CAR ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES AND STILL, THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO BE DISABLED AND NOT DRIVEABLE, WHICH IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC.*DT*JB *DT*JB

Delayed engagement and hard shifting when driving in lore stopped. Especially noticeable when driving in there city, stop and go traffic.
WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL SPARK PLUGS AND ALL IGNITION COILS AS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE JUST BREAKS DOWNS SUDDENLY CAUSE LIGHTS TO COME ON AND BE FLASHING WHILE SHAKING VERY VIOLENTLY AND NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. THIS IS USUALLY FOLLOWING THE ISSUES WE HAVE WITH THE TRANSMISSION STALLING AND HARD SHIFTING FORWARD MORE OFTEN THAN USUAL. IT IS UNDERIVABLE IN THIS CONDITION AND REQUIRES A TOW TO THE SHOP. WE ARE TOLD THIS IS NORMAL MAINTENANCE BUT STARTING AT 6,000 MILES HARDLY SEEMS NORMAL. SPARK PLUGS SHOULDN'T EVEN NEED REPLACED UNTIL AT LEAST 100,000 MILES LET ALONE ANY SORT OF COIL.
CONTINUING TO HAVE ISSUES WITH VERY HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND CAUSES TO VAN TO LURCH WHEN IT SLAMS INTO 2ND GEAR. IT WILL HESITATE THEN SLAM INTO GEAR HARD. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS DURING SLOW SPEED TURNS OR TURNS FROM A FULL STOP. IT HAS HAPPENED ON OCCASION FROM FULL STOP GOING STRAIGHT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. I'M TAKING IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME TO FIGURE OUT.
WHILE DRIVING AT 66 MILES AN HOUR THE ESS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON BUT NOTHING ELSE OCCURRED. STOPPED AT REST AREA, TURNED VEHICLE OFF. LET VEHICLE SIT FEW MINUTES RESTARTED VEHICLE BUT THE ESS STAYED ON WITH NO OTHER EFFECTS.
FUEL LEAK.. WITH GASOLINE ODOR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CANNER CODE P0456, WHEN I START UP THE CAR.
HAD AUXILIARY BATTERY REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE THE ESS WAS NOT FUNCTIONALLY PROPERLY. NO PROBLEMS UNTIL TODAY 11/9/19 WHILE ON VACATION IN WASHINGTON DC. THE ENGINE SHUTOFF TOTALLY AT STOP LIGHT. PUT CAR IN PARK, DEPRESSED BRAKE, VEHICLE STARTED AND ESS WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON AND NO OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON, PULLED OUT OF TRAFFIC INTO PARKING LOT AND VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE AT FIRST, TURNED VEHICLE OFF MYSELF, LET IT SIT A MINUTE. RESTARTED VEHICLE WITH NO PROBLEMS AND ESS LIGHT WAS OFF. CALLED DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED VEHICLE AND CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. NEITHER ON HAD ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS EXCEPT TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP DID SAY MIGHT BE OIL CHANGE WAS DUE OR OIL WAS LOW. HAD OIL CHANGED ABOUT MONTH AGO. SAID THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS 11ISSUE.

ALSO TOLD ME THEY WERE CHECKING TSB 08-099-18 REV A, SOMETHING TO DO WITH FRONT USB PORTS. I ALSO WAS TOLD WHEN THEY FIRST PLUGGED IN HAND HELD SCANNER IT SHOWED BAD AUXILIARY BATTERY. THEY DID FULL DIAGNOSTIC AND GOT ALL THESE CODES. STILL NOT SURE WHAT PROBLEM IS. MY OTHER QUESTION IS WHEN MY VEHICLE DIED NO OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON OTHER THAN THE ESS WARNING LIGHT. ALSO I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF.

2 MONTHS AFTER RECALL FOR THE AUTO START/STOP SERVICE, THE SERVICE STOPPED WORKING AND LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE. COULD NOT START CAR UNTIL 3RD ATTEMPT. HAPPENED TWO TIES AFTER ENGINE SHUT OFF. BROUGHT TO DEALER, AUX BATTERY HAS 0 CHARGE AND A CELL IN MAIN BATTERY IS NOW BAD. READING SEVERAL FORUMS THIS HAS BEEN COMMON AFTER RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT SHOULD NOT HAVE AFFECTED IT. $189 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND $642 TO FIX, NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY

WHEN MAKING A SLIGHT RIGHT HAND TURN THE STEERING DOES NOT NATURALLY RETURN TO THE CENTER POSITION, AND MUST BE PHYSICALLY FORCED TO RETURN TO THE CENTER POSITION
The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after several attempts with the STOP/START unavailable message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact replaced the battery however, the failure returned soon after each battery replacement. The contact also stated that the vehicle independently accelerated while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the vehicle also stalled while depressing the accelerator pedal. The service shifter and service electronic stability system warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate above 25 MPH while driving. The contact was forced to use the hazard lights and slowly drove the vehicle back to her residence. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V348000 (Electrical System) and 18V395000 (Electrical System, Equipment). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
IN THE PAST WEEK ON 3 SEPARATE DAYS, WHEN MAKING A SLOW TURN ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AND THEN SUDDENLY SLAMS VERY HARD INTO GEAR. IT CAUSED MY CHILDREN TO SCREAM WHEN IT HAPPENS BECAUSE IT'S SO JARRING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AS THE PERSON BEHIND ME ALMOST REAR ENDED ME EACH TIME WHEN THIS HAPPENS! WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CAR I NOTICES THAT THE MONITOR SCREEN DIDNT TURN ON FOR 10 SECONDS AFTER I STARTED THE CAR. THE BACKUP CAMERA WAS BLURRY AND THE AUTO START STOP SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I WENT TO START CAR THE ENGINE WOULDNT START. THE SCREEN CAME ON THE LIGHT CAME ON BUT THE ENGINE DIDNT START. I HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR WOULDNT ROLL WHEN IT WAS PUT ON NEUTRAL. I AM BEING TOLD THERE MIGHT BE PROBLEMS WITH THE WIRING AND ELECTRICITY. I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL ABOUT THIS BUT MY CAR DIDNT HAVE A RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP IS GOING TO CHARGE ME INSANE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO GET THIS FIXED. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND I BOUGHT IT TO THE SERVICE SHOP FOR MORE THAN I COULD COUNT. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A NEW CAR WITH MINIMAL TO NO PROBLEMS. IM STARTING TO GET DISAPPOINTED.
WHILE DRIVING MY 4 YEAR OLD SON THE OTHER DAY THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF AND IT FLASHED "TURN TO P (PARK) TO START ENGINE"- THIS FREAKED MY ENTIRE FAMILY OUT. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE.I AM UP TO DATE ON ALL MY MAINTENANCE AND RECALLS. I HAVE ALSO BEEN EXPERIENCING A "BUCKING" WHEN YOU TURN THE VEHICLE AND ACCELERATE. IT IS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND FEEL LIKE I WASTED $36K OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
WE APPARENTLY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MANY OTHER CHRYSLER PACIFICA OWNERS. THE VAN HARD SHIFTS INTO GEAR AND IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HAS RUN INTO THE BACK OF OUR VAN. (IT SERIOUSLY HURTS YOUR BACK AND NECK.) THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE RESET THE COMPUTERS, ETC BUT IT HASN'T SOLVED THE PROBLEM. WE'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGERS THAT THEY'RE FAMILIAR WITH THIS COMPLAINT BUT THAT CHRYSLER HAS TOLD THEM THAT THE VAN IS SHIFTING CORRECTLY, THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING MORE AND THEIR HANDS ARE TIED UNTIL CHRYSLER COMES UP WITH A DIFFERENT SOLUTION.
I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE PERIODICALLY BUT SPORADICALLY STALLS AT TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS AS I PROGRESS FORWARD FROM A STOP ( ATOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT), BUT SOMETIMES IT STALLS WHILE I AM IN TRAFFIC. I AM YET TO NOTICE ANY STALLING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICES AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT I UPGRADE MY GASOLINE. THE PROBLEM IS MORE FREQUENT NOT THAN IT WAS BEFORE. *TR
THE START/STOP ICON APPEARED ON THE DASH AND ALERTED THAT THE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IT WAS TAKEN INTO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THE AUXILIARY BATTERY WAS DEAD. AUXILIARY BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF. TAKEN BACK INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT TAKES TIME FOR IT TO CHARGE AND ALERT SHOULD GO OFF AFTER DRIVING. ALERT DID NOT GO OFF AND WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THAT THE BATTERY SYSTEM IS NOT CHARGING. HAD TO RESCHEDULE ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT WEEK AS THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO FIX IT. NONE OF THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS 2017 PACIFICA HAS 45,000 MILES. ALSO ALERTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE 'HARD STOP' JERKING THAT OCCURS AT SHIFT CHANGE AROUND 15-20 MPH INTERMITTENTLY. THEY SAID THAT THIS COULD NOT BE INVESTIGATED DUE TO THE AUXILIARY BATTERY NOT FUNCTIONING.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THE UCONNECT SYSTEM REPEATEDLY DISPLAYED REQUESTS FOR SETTING A TIME DURING WHICH THE SYSTEM WOULD UNDERGO AN OVER-THE-AIR SOFTWARE UPDATE. THIS DIALOG BOX COULD NOT BE EASILY DISMISSED OR CLEARED. I CHOSE AND SET A TIME FOR THE UPDATE; HOWEVER, THIS REQUEST DIALOG WAS REINSTANTIATED ANYTIME A BUTTON WAS PRESSED, THUS EFFECTIVELY RENDERING THE TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE (INCLUDING THE NAVIGATION) UNUSABLE. THE DIALOG HAD A DEFAULT TIME FOR THE SYSTEM TO UPDATE. THIS WAS SET TO THE CURRENT TIME PLUS ONE MINUTE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLEAR THE DIALOG AND USE THE NAVIGATION, THIS DEFAULT TIME WAS INADVERTENTLY CHOSEN. ONE MINUTE LATER, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THE UCONNECT SYSTEM INITIATED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN THE TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE AND DISPLAYED A WARNING WHICH SAID THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE STOPPED AND IN PARK. AS THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, THIS WARNING COULD NOT BE IMMEDIATELY COMPLIED WITH. THE REPEATED DIALOG BOXES WERE INCREDIBLY DISTRACTING. THE FACT THAT THE DRIVER COULD INADVERTENTLY INITIATE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHILE IN MOTION IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS BUT ASTOUNDINGLY ABSURD.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR THERE IS A LARGE SHUDDER AND THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD AND SLAMS INTO GEAR VERY ROUGHLY. THIS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING.

MY 2017 PACIFICA HAS HAD MANY ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOWS, SUNROOF, SLIDING DOORS, NAVIGATION, ELECTRONIC SCREEN, AND REAR HATCH WHICH HAVE BEEN REPAIRED EXCEPT FOR THE PASSENGER WINDOW & SUNROOF. YESTERDAY MORNING MY BATTERY VOLTAGE WHILE DRIVING WAS FLUCTUATING TO LOW ERRATICALLY. WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE LEFT TURN THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED DOWN DRASTICALLY TO POINT OR CUTOFF AND NEARLY CAUSED A COLLISION. IT THEN JUMPED BACK UP TO 14.4V AND HELD THAT CONSISTENTLY. A FEW HOURS LATER IT DROPPED DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THE DASHBOARD DIDN'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS LIT AND THE BATTERY STRENGTH WAS FINE OTHER THAN THE ERRATIC FLUCTUATIONS. I GOOGLED AND SAW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE TYPE AND YEAR. PHONE DEALERSHIP TO TELL THEM MY CAR WAS UNSAFE AND PERFORMED ERRATICALLY BECAUSE OF BATTERY ISSUE.
