PERIODICALLY WHEN PRESSING ON GAS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO AND YOU NEED TO TAKE FOOT OFF GAS AND PRESS FIRMLY. OUR CAR WAS ONE OF THE PACIFICA'S THAT STALLED IN THE PAST FOR NO KNOWN REASON AND IT WAS FIXED. THIS NEW PROBLEM IS CONCERNING AS WE HAVE BEEN IN INTERSECTIONS WHEN IT OCCURRED WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD.
WHILE DRIVING ROUGH SHIFTING FROM THE 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IT IS NOTED THAT IT HAS A TENDENCY TO BANG OR SHIFT RATHER ROUGH INTO 2ND GEAR ON UPSHIFTS UNDER MODERATE ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS. IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FROM 10K-PRESENT MILES. DEALER STATES IS FINE, THIS CAN BE RATHER DANGEROUS DUE TO THE FORCE AND JERK FROM THE TRANSMISSION. IF THE TRANSMISSION WERE TO STALL THE TRAFFIC BEHIND WOULD HIT US. THIS SILL HAPPEN WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND ALSO WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. THERE DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN A DEALERSHIP TELLS YOU EVERYTHING IS FINE WHEN IT ISNT.
THE POWER STEERING ABRUPTLY STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING MAKING TURNING THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR ME AND IMPOSSIBLE FOR MY SPOUSE. THEN, WHILE I AM USING ALL MY MIGHT TO TURN IT AROUND A CORNER, IT RESUMES AND CAUSES ME TO JERK THE WHEEL. THESE ISSUES HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, IN PARKING LOTS, AND SIDE ROADS, THE POWER STEERING JUST STOPS AND STARTS WITHOUT CAUSE. I ALMOST HIT A GUARD RAIL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLEANED THE WIRES BUT IT'S STILL HAPPENING. NOW, THEY WANT ME TO PAY $3,500 TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT I DIDN'T CAUSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS REQUESTED. THE VEHICLE WAS JUMP STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V348000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GANLEY CHRYSLER OF AURORA (161 W GARFIELD RD, AURORA, OH 44202) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MAIN BATTERY AND THE STOP/START BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERIES WERE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,900.
THIS VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING OR ANYTHING JUST DRIVING AROUND 50MPH AND EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF AND STEERING LOCKS UP YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE VEHICLE.THEN THE SCREEN POPS UP TELLING YOU TO PLACE IN PARK WHILE YOUR STILL TRAVELING 50MPH. THIS HAS NOW HAPPEND 3 TIMES. IT HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME IN MAY 2019 AROUND 48,000 MILES AND NOW 2 TIME ON JULY 8 2020 AT 74,000 MILES. I HAVE READ SEVERAL ARTICLES ONLINE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF THESE VEHICLES AND THERE HAS BEEN OVER 50 COMPLAINTS BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET. THIS IS A HIGHLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE IN. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO PROJECT FAMILIES FOR GETTING INJURY'S. LUCKILY THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON SMALLER ROADS AND NOT A HIGHWAY YET! THIS CAN BE DEADLY!
THE VAN WAS PARKED AND THE BACK GLASS SHATTERED BY ITSELF. I WAS JUST SITTING IN THE VAN AND BOOM, GLASS SHATTERED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT INTO SELF PARKING MODE AND CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE SELF PARKING SENSOR LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. ALSO DURING THE INCIDENT, THE PRE-COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT ACTIVATE TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM CRASHING INTO THE SECOND VEHICLE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL COLLISION CENTER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER EXAMINED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEER WHO INDICATED PRE-COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM HAD FAILED. THE PRE-COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM MODULE WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE LOCAL DEALER ORANGE COAST CHRYSLER (2929 HARBOR BLVD, COSTA MESA, CA 92626) WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. *LN*JB
VEHICLE STOPPED STARTING - THE FOLLOWING ISSUES WERE BEING DISPLAYED. 1. VEHICLE NOT IN PARK, SERVICE TRANS STOPE SAFELY SHUT OFF ENGINE TO ENGAGE PARK, SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, PARK SENSE UNAVAILABLE, SERVICE SHIFTER PROBLEM. UNABLE TO OPERATE TAIL GATE, UNABLE TO OPERATE SLIDING DOORS THE VEHICLE WAS IN STATIONARY MODEL WHILE MOTION I AM HAVING ISSUES WHEN SPEEDING UP FROM 20 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR STALLS AND THEN PICKSUP CAR WAS IN IDLE STATE AND SUDDENLY THE CAR STOPS RESPONSING
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON WONT GO OFF MECHANIC SAYS ITS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND TO LET MANUFACTURE KNOW, VAN HAD BEEN MAKING WEIRD SOUND WHEN BRAKE APPLIED, DEALER SAID IT WAS BRAKE DUST AND ALL WAS OKAY, BUT SOUND STILL PERSISTED AND NOW A YEAR LATER ITS MUCH WORSE THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND BRAKES DO NOT WORK WHEN TRYING TO STOP, I HAVE TO APPLY BRAKES MULTIPLE TIME SLOWLY AND EVEN THEN SOMETIMES STILL NOT ABLE TO COMPLETELY STOP , TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND TWO SEPARATE MECHANICS STATED THAT ITS A MANUFACTURER ERROR THAT THEY CANT EVEN FIX , HAVE TO GO TO WORK ONLY CAR I HAVE BUT I AM MORE AT RISK , WHILE DRIVING I HAVE TO DRIVE SLOWER THEN SPEED LIMIT , AVOID GOING DOWNHILLS AND SOME TIME HAVE TO RUN RED LIGHTS BECAUSE I CANT STOP . IT IS SO SCARY AND I FEEL HELPLESS BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE, STILL HAVING TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON THE VAN AND AT THIS TIME TRYING TO TRADE IT IN BUT WITH THE BRAKE PROBLEM ITS PUTTING ME AT A LOSS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY DOWNSHIFTED AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DRASTICALLY ALMOST COMING TO A STOP. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (2158 BALTIMORE PIKE, OXFORD, PA, 19363) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED OCCASIONALLY. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 277,550.
The touch screen radio screen has blacked out in some sections making it difficult to use the backup camera.
TURNING ON YOUR AIR CONDITIONER TO MAXIMUM OFTEN MAY CAUSE BACTERIA GROWTH DUE TO THE EXCESS WATER THAT IS DRIPPING IN YOUR UNIT'S TRUE THAT IN HIGH HUMIDITY ENVIRONMENTS THAT MOLD CAN BUILD ON EVAPORATOR COILS AND CAUSE AN ODOR, ESPECIALLY IF THE VAN SITS FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS BETWEEN DRIVES. I MAKE IT A PRACTICE OF TURNING OFF THE A/C THE LAST FEW BLOCKS ON THE WAY HOME TO BLOW SOME WARM AIR THROUGH THERE TO DRY IT OUT A LITTLE IN THE SUMMER. NONETHELESS, IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY IF ONE OF THE SMELLS YOU DETECTED WAS "VINEGAR." I WONDER IF MAYBE A SMALL ANIMAL/RODENT FOUND THEIR WAY INTO YOUR SYSTEM AND GOT STUCK AND HAS SINCE EXPIRED? IF THE SMELL IS ONLY THERE WHEN YOU FIRST TURN IT ON AND THEN DISSIPATES, THEN THAT SEEMS A LOT LIKE A COMMON MOLD GROWTH SCENARIO. IF IT PERSISTS, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVE A BIGGER ISSUE. *TR
WHEN GOING AT LOWER SPEEDS AS WELL AS FREEWAY SPEEDS THE CAR WILL LURCH AND ROUGHLY SHIFT. IT SEEMS TO HAVE A DIFFICULT TIME SHIFTING INTO GEARS WHILE DRIVING.
THE ENGINE, BRAKES, STEERING ALL SEIZED UP ON TAKEOFF. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON. IT HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY ROAD. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SCARY. ON OTHER TRIPS, THE GEARS SEEM TO CHANGE ROUGHLY WHEN ACCELERATING AT TIMES AND NOT OTHERS. *TR

I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. NOW MY VAN WONT START AND MULTIPLE CODES CAME ON WHEN TRYING TO START MY VAN. HARD SHIFTS WITH ROUTINE DRIVING. TRANSMISSION SLAMS INTO GEAR EVEN DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION.
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL CASES OF SHIFTING HARD OR CLUNKING WHEN GOING FROM ONE GEAR TO ANOTHER, MOST NOTICEABLE FROM 1ST TO SECOND GEAR. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY DAY OR EVEN EVERY MONTH, BUT I'M GUESSING AT LEAST 4 TIMES A YEAR. ISSUE USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER STARTING TO MOVE FROM A DEAD STOP, SUCH AS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, ETC. THE DATE OF THIS HAPPENING IS APPROXIMATE AND HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST 3-4 YEARS.
WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2018. THE VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING ALWAYS STARTS TO LOCK/STICK INTO ONE DIRECTION AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 45 MINUTES OR SO. IT IS MOST NOTICABLE ON THE HWY AT SPEEDS OF 70 MPH OR ABOVE, BUT ON LONGER TRIP AS THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING LONGER, THE POWER STERRING LOCKING/STICKING TAKES PLACE LOWER SPEEDS AS WELL. WHEN THW POWER STEERING STARTS TO LOCK/STICK, IT REQUIRES A JERK FORCE ON THE STERRING WHEEL TO STRAIGHTEN IT OUT AND THIS CAN EASILY CAUSE OVERSTEERING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. ONCE THE PROBLEM STARTS IT IS CONSTANT AND YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS FIGHT AGAINST THE POWER STEERING. IT IS DANGEROUS AND WE ARE GETTING RID OF THE CAR. WE HAVE TAKEN IT SEVERAL TIMES TO THE CHRYSLER DEALESHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT (MOPAR) AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING NEEDS AN UPDATE AND HAVE NEVER RESOLVED THE ISSUE. THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM EITHER.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 M.P.H. WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE UP TO ALMOST 90 M.P.H. WITHOUT INPUT (DEPRESSION OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR INCREASING SPEED FROM CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS) FROM THE DRIVER. THE ACCELERATION CEASED WHEN CRUISE CONTROL WAS DEACTIVATED BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TR
SINCE PURCHASING 10/1/2016 THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 5 - 6 TIMES WHERE THE VEHICLE CUT OUT BUT DID NOT DIE. THIS APPEARS TO ME TO BE A DEFECT IN THE TRANSMISSION YET THE DEALER COULD NOT LOCATE AND FIX THIS ISSUE. THERE ARE MANY DOCUMENTED CASES WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AS WELL AS A RECALL THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED ON THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS 61379 MILES AND IS NOW BEING REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND WE ARE JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. I FEEL WE ARE LUCKY THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE KNOWN TRANSMISSION FOR THIS MODEL YEAR. ON 05/15/2020 THE VEHICLE HAD A P0732 ERROR CODE AFTER THE TRANSMISSION CUT OUT 2 TIMES. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE WE PURCHASED AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. CHRYSLER DEALER NOW WANTS TO PUT IN THE SAME TRANSMISSION '21002105 AUTOMATIC TRANS ASSY, R&R EW 2017 FROM 06/12/16. I HAVE A HUGE CONCERN THAT WE WILL END UP WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION THAT IS SIMPLY UNSAFE IN MY OPINION, AS WELL AS HAVING TO PUT IN ANOTHER TRANSMISSION DOWN THE LINE. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH THIS CODE WAS NOT STILL SHOWING WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR AN INSPECTION TO THE DEALER ON 5/16/2020. *TR

CAR STARTS SHAKING WHILE DRIVING, WITH ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. ALSO SHAKING WHILE IDLING.
MY VAN STALLED, AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED WHEN I HAD THE BRAKE PRESSED AT AN INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES LOCKED, I COULDNT SHIFT THE CAR, OR TURN THE WHEEL. I HAD REPEATEDLY TRIED TO TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF AGAIN AND THE ENGINE WOULDNT START.
PURCHASED 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA BRAND NEW WITH FACTORY TOW PACKAGE OPTION ABLE TO TOW UP TO 3,600 LBS. PER CHRYSLER. APPARENTLY THE VAN CAN'T TOW 3,200 LB. TRAILER SAFELY UNLESS THE VAN CAN CONTROL THE TRAILER BRAKES, WHICH IT CAN NOT DO BECAUSE CHRYSLER FAILED TO SUPPLY WIRING UNDER THE DASH FOR A TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER TO BE CONNECTED IN THE 2017 MODELS. IT APPEARS EVERYONE WITH A 2017 PACIFCIA WITH FACTORY TOW PACKAGE ARE TOWING TRAILERS UNSAFELY BECAUSE THE VAN CAN NOT STOP SAFELY WITH A 2,000 LB. TRAILER IN TOW LET ALONE A 3,500 LB. TRAILER. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEALER (ZIEGLER CHRYSLER IN DOWNERS GROVE, IL) AND THE BBB ID #14203031. WITH THE HELP OF THE BBB, CHRYSLER RESPONDED STATING IT WAS A SALES ISSUE AND TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE DEALER. AFTER GOING BACK & FORTH WITH DEALER AND CHRYSLER CORP., DEALER (SALES MGR. PHIL) NOW SAYS ITS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER SAYS IT CAN TOW 3,600 LBS. IT APPEARS CHRYSLER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR THE 2018 AND NEWER MODELS BUT NOT THE 2017 MODELS. IT SEEMS CHRYSLER IS CLAIMING AND ADVERTISING IT CAN TOW 3,600 LBS. BUT THAT SEEMS TOTALLY FALSE FOR 2017 MODELS. HOWEVER, IF NHTSA FEELS ITS SAFE FOR THE 2017 PACIFICA WITH TOW PACKAGE TO TOW THE ADVERTISED WEIGHT WITHOUT OPERATING THE TRAILER BRAKES THEN I WON'T BE CONCERNED. The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while accelerating from a stop sign the vehicle downshifted and idled abnormally high. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with a second gear ratio failure, and the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.
I BOUGHT 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING L 3 WEEKS AGO USED FROM A DODGE DEALERSHIP. THIS PAST WEEK MY WIFE AND I TOOK A LONG ROAD TRIP OVER 1000 MILES.THE CAR DROVE JUST FINE AND WHEN WE ARRIVED I DIDN'T DRIVE THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS. WHEN I WENT TO START IT BACK UP, IT SENT A MESSAGE SAYING ITS LOST COMMUNICATION TO POWER STEERING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. I'M AT A LOSS BECAUSE THE CAR DROVE PERFECTLY FOR THREE WEEKS THEN SAT FOR TWO DAYS AND JUST STOPPED. I CAN'T DRIVE IT. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO REPLACE STEERING RACK.
BUBBLING OF PAINT ON THE FRONT EDGE OF HOOD - ENTIRE WIDTH OF HOOD. APPEARS LIKE IT IS RUSTING UNDERNEATH THE PAINT.
LST YEAR OUR TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO MAKE "CLUNKING" SOUNDS AND FELT LIKE WE WERE GETTING "REAR-ENDED". LOCAL DEALER SAID IT WAS A NEEDED SOFTWARE UPDATE ON A COMPUTER. DID THE REPAIR AND WORKED WELL FOR A YEAR. NOW, IT IS STARTING TO DO THAT AGAIN BUT NOT FREQUENTLY. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE THERE SEEMS TO BE QUITE A FEW OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS.
THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED FIVE TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE TWICE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND I SUSPECTED THE FORWARD CRASH CONTROL DID NOT WORK AS WELL OR IT WOULD HAVE STOPPED ME I TOOK IT TO TWO DEALERSHIPS AND NEITHER CAN TEST IT. PLUS THEY SAID THERE WAS NO CODES WHY WOULD THERE BE? THE ONE TOOK IT ON A TEST DRIVE AND SAID YEP IT DOESN'T WORK HE FOLLOWED A CAR ON THE FREEWAY. AND IT DIDN'T GO OFF. LAST WEEK IT WENT OFF??? SO I TOOK IT BACK TO A DEALER. HE SAID WELL YOU DON'T THINK IT SHOULD SAVE YOU DO YOU. I SAID YES IF I DON'T HIT THE BRAKE IN TIME. ISN'T THAT WHAT IT IS FOR. JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR USED A FEW DAYS AGO WITH JUST OVER 40K MILES ON IT. OCCASIONALLY AFTER COMING TO A STOP AS I EXCELERATE THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO MISS A GEAR, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV THE CAR TO COAST AND THEN EVENTUALLY CATCHES A GEAR AS THE CAR IS REV'D AND THEN LUNGES FORWARD. AGAIN THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, JUST RANDOMLY.
HARD SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS. LOUD CLUNKING SOUND AS IF SOMEONE HAS RUN INTO THE BACK OF YOU. HAVE HAD INTO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. THEY'VE REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER AND REPLACE VALVES IN TRANSMISSION AND NO CHANGE. ALWAYS GET A RUN AROUND AND ACT LIKE THEY'VE NEVER SEEN THE PROBLEM EVEN AFTER SHOWN MANY COMPLAINTS ON LINE.VERY ALARMING AND DANGEROUS.

THE DRIVERS SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR WILL POP BACK OPEN ONCE IT CLOSES. AT APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP AND IT IS SOUNDS LIKE A POPPING NOISE.

MANY OTHER DRIVERS COMPLAINING ABOUT SAME ISSUE: 1. DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (10MPH OR LESS) TRANSMISSION DOES A HARD SHIFT AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO ENGAGE 2ND OR 3RD SHIFT. CAR DOES A HUGE BUMP WHEN THE SHIFT IS ENGAGED. 2. AT HIGH SPEED (65MPH ~) IS POSSIBLE TO HEAR A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM LEFT SIDE PANEL / DRIVERS SIDE. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING FOR US. ALREADY HAVE DEALER CHECK THE VEHICLE BUT THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. THIS IS HAPPENING SINCE THE VERY FIRST RECALL FOR THIS CAR. BEFORE THE FIRST RECALL, NO ISSUE.
THERE IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. IT CONTINUES TO OPEN ITSELF BACK UP AFTER CLOSING. IT WILL BE ALMOST CLOSED ALL THE WAY AND THEN WILL BEEP THREE TIMES AND OPEN BACK UP.. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE DOOR JAM OR WAY OF IT CLOSING. WE HAVE WIPED CLEANED AND VACUUMED IT, AND DEALER FOUND NO ISSUE. IT HAPPENS DAILY. ALSO AT TIMES THE SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT AN ENTIRE BODY OF MY CHILD WHEN CLOSING AND WILL CLOSE ON THE CHILD IF THEY DON'T MOVE IN TIME.

VEHICLE HAD APPROX 36000 AND JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.. CREAKING / FLEXING NOISE HEARD IN FRONT END WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP APPEARI G TO BE CONTROL ARM BUSHING FLEXING OR ENGINE / TRANSMISSION MOUNT FLEX NOISE.
AT 10MPH DECELERATING TO STOP LIGHT. ENGINE SHUTOFF. ON RESTART ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED _SERVICE SHIFTER. NO LIGHTS ON SHIFTER DESIGNATING GEAR IN USE WAS ABLE TO RETURN TO CHRYSLER SERVICE. REPLACING SHIFTER. PREVIOUSLY THERE HAVE BEEN INSTANCES WHEN DOORS OPENED WHILE CAR WAS AT 30 MPH. THAT WAS CORRECTED WITH NEW LOCKING COMPUTER. SEVERAL TIMES THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE WHEN CAR WAS STARTED. IGNITION HAD TO BE SWITCHED OFF THEN ON A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE THE SHIFTER WOULD WORK PROPERLY. THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WHEN CAR STARTED AND BRAKE CONTROL BUTTON WAS PRESSEED. IGNITION HAD TO BE CYCLED COUPLE OF TIMES . NOT SHIFTING INTO DRIVE AND FAILURE TO DISENGAGE BRAKE OCCURRED TOGETHER FREQUENTLY BUT NOT EVERY TIME ON DOWNHILL ROADS IN CRUISE CONTROL AT 45 TO 55 MPH , TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTS SO RPM WOULD EXCEED 3000 AND DID NOT IMMEDIATELY UPSHIFT WHEN ROAD BECAME FLAT . RPM WOULD REMAIN ABOVE 3000 FOR SEVERAL SECONDS THEN RETURN TO 1500 RPM. THIS IS A VERY RECENT NEW ACTION. THERE A DISTURBING THUNK SOUND AND HARD JERK WHEN TRANSMISSION SHIFTS UNDER LOAD AT APPROXIMATELY 40 TO 50 MPH
WHEN PASSING A FARM TRACTOR CAR WENT IN TO THE PASSING GEAR AND THEN THERE WAS NO ACCELARTION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR COULD NOT SHUT CAR OFF AFTER AWHILE SIDE DOORS WOULDN'T OPEN AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS CAR FINALLY STARTED AND WENT BACK TO NORMAL
WHEN MAKING A SLOW TURN (15 MPH) THE TRANSMISSION FIRST LURCHED THEN BANGED INTO NEXT GEAR. THE FRONT WHEELS SLIPPED AND LOST TRACTION SENDING THE CAR OUT OF THE PAVEMENT. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL. THEN WHEN MERGING INTO THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO REACH HIGHER GEARS LEAVING US RUNNING AT JUST 30 MPH AND ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES JUST THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT IS THE 3RD TIME THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS HAPPENED. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION BODY VALVE THE FIRST TIME, THE SECOND TIME THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BOTH TIMES IT TOOK ABOUT 30 DAYS TO PERFORM THE REPAIR.
THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT I HAVE FILED IN 24 HOURS. I BELIEVE I AM HAVING A KNOWN PROBLEM/RECALL IN MY VEHICLE: ENGINE STALL DUE TO SOFTWARE ISSUE AN ENGINE STALL CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TURNED OFF INCLUDING THE ENGINE AND ALL THE LIGHTS. NOTHING ON THE DASH REMAINED LIT. I TRIED TO RESTART IT AND NOTHING HAPPENED. NO SOUNDS, CLICK OR LIGHTS APPEARED. I OPENED MY DOOR AND WAITED ABOUT A MINUTE THEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TURNED ON. THE SLIDING BACK DOOR HAD TO BE MANUALLY PULLED SHUT AT THIS POINT. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I TRIED AGAIN AND IT HESITATED, THEN STARTED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 10 MILES TO WORK AFTER THAT.
I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS HAVE THE ISSUE OF A KNOWN RECALL ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE: ENGINE STALL OR LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST OR A STALL CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF CRASH. I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. I WAS INSTRUCTED ON THE SCREEN TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. ONCE I PUT IT IN PARK THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I TRIED RESTARTING IT. THE BRAKE WAS STIFF AND WOULD NOT PUSH IN. WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON IT WENT TO "ACC" THEN WHEN I PUSHED IT AGAIN IT WENT TO "RUN" BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ON AND I COULD NOT CHANGE THE SHIFTER OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND HAPPENED WHILE VEHICLES WERE DRIVING BEHIND ME CAUSING PEOPLE TO SUDDENLY COME TO A STOP.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST SIX TIMES SINCE 2018. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NAPLETON'S NORTHLAKE CHRYSLER, JEEP/RAM (3701 NORTHLAKE BLVD, LAKE PARK, FL 33403) THEY HAD NOT RENDERED A DIAGNOSTIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
WE HAVE TAKEN OUR 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR A CONTINUOUS ISSUE OF HARD SHIFTING MOSTLY IN 1ST & 2ND GEARS. WE HAVE BEEN JOLTING AND HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON US.I WAS GOING ABOUT 12 MPH. ON MONDAY, JAN. 13, 2020 MY 3.5 YO DAUGHTER AND I WERE ON A SLIGHT HILL AND THE CAR SEIZED UP AND LOST ALL FUNCTION. I SLIDE (I WAS ON A DIRT ROAD WITH SOME SNOW) INTO A DITCH AND LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW TO SEE A LARGE AMOUNT OF RED FLUID ON THE GROUND. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THE DISTINCT SMELL OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE STUCK FOR HOURS DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VAN. I AM CONCERNED IF THEY TRY TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM I WILL BE IN THE SAME SITUATION AGAIN.
TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY JERKS VIOLENTLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM AROUND 10-20 MPH. THIS HAPPENS MOST OFTEN WHEN WE SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AND ARE NOT COMING TO A FULL STOP. SO WHEN WE BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AFTER THE TURN, THE VAN LOSES ALL FORWARD MOMENTUM AND FEELS LIKE IT'S IN NEUTRAL FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AND THEN SUDDENLY LUNGES FORWARD THROWING OUR HEADS BACK INTO THE HEADREST PRETTY HARD. WE'VE BEEN EXTREMELY CLOSE TO BEING REAR ENDED TWICE THE PAST MONTH. THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ROUGHLY 25 TIMES SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VAN IN OCT. 2019.
WHILE VEHICLE IS BOTH STATIONARY AND MOVING THE SHIFT SELECTOR OR DIAL TURNS OFF. YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE HAS TURNED OFF WHILE IN MOTION! THE TIE RODS ON THIS VEHICLE BROKE AT LESS THAN 20K MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS WHICH HAVE BEEN FIXED BUT CONTINUES TO HAVE INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ALL OF THESE HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO CHRYSLER.
HAS A HARD SHIFT WHEN SWITCHING GEAR. FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET FIXED, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE ONLY...THIS HASN'T FIXED THE ISSUE. NOW IT SHIFTS HARD AND IS SLIPPING CONSTANTLY ANYTIME THE VEHICLE REACHES ABOVE 30MPH. THE HARD SHIFTS CAUSE WHIPLASH TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN THE VEHICLE.
