TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06E022000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATES ON/OFF CONSTANTLY. CAME ON/OFF 38 TIMES ON A RECENT 160 MILE TRIP TO ST. JOE, MO. IT HAPPENS AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS. *************************************** SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ALSO COMES ON SOMEWHAT FREQUENTLY. *TR
NUMEROUS TIMES, UPON FILLING GAS TANK, VEHICLE STALLS IN FIRST FEW MILES OF DRIVING. HAS ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, THE NHTSA REALLY NEEDS TO PUSH FOR A RECALL. I CANNOT FILL UP TOTALLY FOR REAR OF GETTING HIT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FOB FAILED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO MANUFACTURER RECALL TO ADDRESS THE REPAIR AND THEY DID NOT INSPECT AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SINCE ABOUT MARCH OF THIS YEAR, OUR VAN HEADLAMPS WILL NOT TURN ON WITH THE SWITCH. IT TAKES PLAYING WITH THE SWITCH SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THEY GO ON. RECENTLY THE HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY GO OFF AS WE ARE DRIVING, WE HAVE TO PULL OVER AND PLAY WITH THE SWITCH TO GET THE LIGHTS TO GO ON. ALSO AS WE PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF, SOMETIMES THE HEADLIGHTS OR THE DASH LIGHTS WILL GO ON BY THEMSELVES. CURRENTLY WE ARE HAVING TO JUMP THE CAR OFTEN AS IF THERE IS A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. WE TOOK THE BATTERY TO THE LOCATION WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT AND THEY TESTED THE SYSTEM, AND BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM PASSED ALL TEST. IN OTHER INCIDENTS WHICH MAY OR NOT BE RELATED OUR POWER SLIDING DOORS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE LEFT SIDE DOES NOT FUNCTION AT ALL, AND THE RIGHT SIDE CLOSES AND OPENS WHEN THE BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. IT TAKES TWO TRIES BEFORE IT LOCKS PROPERLY. WHEN WE TAKE THE VAN TO THE LOCAL DEALER THEY KNOW NOTHING OF THESE ISSUES, AND HAVE BEEN QUOTED $300-600 TO REPAIR EACH INCIDENTS. WE APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL ASSISTANCE REGARDING THESE ISSUES. *TR
EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE GETS A COMPLETE FILL UP OF FUEL. WHEN I DRIVE OFF ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STARTS ACTING VERY ERRATIC AND HESITATES SEVERELY. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS AS WELL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK AND RE-STARTING THE ENGINE, THE ENGINE EITHER STUMBLES OR STALLS 1-5 TIMES BEGINNING WITHIN ABOUT 60 SECONDS OF STARTING ENGINE AND DRIVING AWAY FROM GAS STATION. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING REPEATEDLY OVER THE LAST YEAR AND HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. AT LEAST TWICE, IT HAS STALLED WHILE PULLING INTO AN INTERSECTION RIGHT AFTER FILL UP. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, THE STUMBLING/STALLING STOPS AND DOESN'T RECUR UNTIL AFTER THE NEXT FILL UP. IT OCCURS DURING BOTH LOW-SPEED DRIVING (E.G. WAITING AT A LIGHT) AND AT HIGH-SPEED DRIVING (E.G. MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP) ONLINE FORUMS INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE VEHICLE AND SAY THE ONLY FIX IS REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE GAS TANK. WHENEVER I FILL IN THE GAS MY TOWN AND COUNTRY WILL STALL AFTER DRIVING A MILE OR SO. COMPLAINED TO DEALER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY ALWAYS SUGGESTED FUEL INJECTION SERVICE. ON THIS DATE HOWEVER MY VAN COMPLETELY STOPPED WHILE DRIVING SOON AFTER I FILLED MY GAS TANK. TOOK TO THE DEALER (IT LATER STARTED WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON) AND THEY CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS WITH CABLE AND DID FEW MORE THINGS. IT STILL DOES THE SAME. SOON AFTER PUTTING IN GAS IT STALLS/SHUTS OFF. HAD TO WAIT AND START AGAIN. AFTER THAT NEVER GIVES ANY TROUBLE UNTIL TIME TO PUT IN THE GAS. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY STALLED ON THE ROAD. ALL THE ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS OF MY MINI VAN I.E. THE BRAKES AND THE STEERING WHEEL WERE DISABLED AND I HAD TO PULL IT ON THE SIDE. IT WAS THANKSGIVING DAY SO THERE WAS LIGHT TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY PUT ON HAZARD LIGHTS TO AVOID ANY COLLISION FROM THE CAR THAT WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME. THE NEXT DAY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER DEALER AND THEY DID SEVERAL THINGS THAT COSTS TOTAL OF $700. BUT NEXT TIME I FILLED UP THE TANK IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WENT ONLINE TO GOOGLE THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH TOWN AND COUNTRY MINI VAN. IT DOES POSES A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO SOME EXTENT. THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A RECALL FROM CHRYSLER BUT THEY TOTALLY IGNORED THIS. THE FIX TO THIS PROBLEM IS REPLACING THE FUEL TANK...A BIG EXPENSE. *TR
FREQUENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN AT LOW SPEED, LESS THAN 30 AND YOU ARE MAKING A TURN THE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE. NORMALLY IT WILL GO BACK OFF IN LESS THAN 20 SECONDS. I WAS ADVISED THERE IS A CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT ON TOWN AND COUNTRY'S FROM OTHER YEARS WAS A RECALL ITEM. IN SEARCHING MY PROBLEM I HAVE FOUND OTHER REPORTED INCIDENCES OF THIS ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL YEAR. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM AS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND A SAFETY ISSUE. COST TO FIX IS APPROXIMATELY $400.00. THIS ISSUE HAS GONE ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS AN APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY....UPDATED 10/27/15 *BF
WHILE INFLATING TIRES FOR A CUSTOMER THE TPMS VALVE STEM SENSOR BROKE AND DEFLATED THE TIRE. *TR
NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR WEEKS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF . ALL BUT TWO TIMES THEY CAME BACK ON. THE LAST TWO THEY DID NOT COME ON UNTIL SHUTTING THE SWITCH OFF AND TURNING BACK ON. ALL WERE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS . CHRYSLER DEALERS HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS HOWEVER IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSED PRIOR TO SOMEONE GETTING KILLED . I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE THIS AT NIGHT FOR FEAR OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT . *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,300.
2005 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY POWER DOOR LOCKS & RADIO/DVD PLAYER INOPERATIVE. THE POWER LOCKS HAVE STOPPED WORKING AT DIFFERENT INTERVALS. PULLING THE 20A IOD FUSE AND REINSERTING IT AFTER 10 MINUTES OR PULLING THE CABLE OFF OF THE BATTERY FOR 10 MINUTES ***HAS NOT*** FIXED THE PROBLEM SO FAR. VAN IS CURRENTLY IN SHOP AND WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE FUSE BOX MODULE. *TR
THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF EVERY WEEK TELLING ME ONE OF MY TIRES IS LOW. IT IS NOT JUST ONE TIRE. 3 OF THEM SEEM TO BE LOSING AIR FROM THE VALVE STEM AND I HAVE TO REFILL THEM EVERY WEEK. IT SEEMS THE STEM IS MADE OF ALUMINUM AND CORRODES EASILY. THEY BECOME BRITTLE AND CAN BREAK EVEN FROM WASHING THE CAR OR JUST CHECKING THE AIR PRESSURE ACCORDING TO T&C OWNERS. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF BY THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN WHILE DRIVING AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT 35MPH, THEN I SLOWED DOWN TO 20MPH TO CROSS OVER A SET OF RAILROAD TRACKS. AS I WAS CROSSING THE TRACKS, THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED, THEN CLOSED. (THE DOORS ARE REMOTE CONTROL DOORS.) THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED. I WAS TALKING TO A FEW PEOPLE ABOUT THIS SITUATION, TO COME TO FIND OUT, THAT THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY CHRYSLER HASN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR

DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE AT 60MPH. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. COASTED TO A STOP. ENGINE STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. NO INTERRUPTION WITH ELECTRICAL POWER. LIGHTS AND RADIO STILL ON. SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH THE ENGINE JUST TURNING OFF. DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 3 TIMES. AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. *TR
PROBLEM: I BOUGHT A NEW DODGE CARAVAN IN 2005, HAD A FLAT TIRE, AND THERE WAS NOT A SPARE TIRE UNDERNEATH THE VAN. I HAD NEVER HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THIS VAN, SO WHY WAS THERE NOT A SPARE TIRE OR SPARE TIRE COVER UNDERNEATH MY CAR?) I HAD TO LITERALLY GET DOWN ON MY HANDS AND KNEES USING A CELLPHONE LIGHT TO SEE UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR TO DETERMINE WHY THE SPARE WOULD NOT LEASE. WE HAD NEVER HAD A FLAT IN THIS VAN BEFORE AND WE BOUGHT IT NEW AT HAYES CHRYSLER IN OAKWOOD, GEORGIA IN 2005. THE REASON I COULD NO GET THE SPARE TIRE TO RELEASE WAS BECAUSE I FINALLY DISCOVERED, THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE NOR TIRE COVER IN THE SPARE TIRE STORAGE COMPARTMENT UNDERNEATH MY VAN. MY SON AND I WERE STRANDED AT APPROXIMATELY 11:00 PM AT NIGHT ON THE SIDE OF I78 NEAR FULTON, MS. NOT ONLY DID I, A WIFE AND MOM, HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO, BUT HAD TO KEEP MY SON CALM. HE WAS UNSURE ABOUT SAFETY. LATER, WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY OFFERED NO HELP. AFTER I FIRST DESCRIBED THE EVENTS THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE WITH MY HAVING A FLAT AND NO SPARE TIRE, THE HAYES CHRYSLER EMPLOYEE SAID, "THAT TIRE WAS STOLEN!" I REPLIED, "EXACTLY AND WE GET OUR CAR SERVICED AT YOUR DEALERSHIP SO CHECK YOUR RECORDS AND SEE WHO WORKED ON MY VAN." NEEDLESS TO SAY, AFTER CHECKING WITH A MANAGER THE DEALERSHIP SIMPLY SAID THAT THEY HAD PERFORMED AN INSPECTION ON THE CAR WHEN THE CAR WAS BOUGHT (INFERRING THAT A SPARE WAS ON THE CAR). TO REPLACE THE SPARE TIRE AND TIRE COVER THE DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME APPROXIMATELY $180.00. I CONTACTED A AUTO SALVAGE STORE AND THEY VERIFIED THAT THEY HAD MANY COMPLAINTS (NOT NECESSARILY BECAUSE OF THIS DEALERSHIP OR FOR THE SAME REASONS) OF PEOPLE NEEDING A SPARE TIRE AND OFFERED TO SELL ME THE DOUGHNUT SIZED SPARE TIRE AND ITS COVER FOR $50.00. I NEVER THOUGHT TO CHECK UNDERNEATH MY NEW CAR TO SEE IF THERE WAS A SPARE TIRE. LESSON LEARNED. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK AND DRIVING AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION THE ENGINE QUIT. PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT. ALWAYS AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK, BUT NOT AT EVERY REFILL. CHECKING ON LINE INDICATES THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO A NUMBER OF PEOPLE AND THE SOLUTION IS REPLACING THE GAS TANK, APPEARS THAT A VALVE IS ALLOWING FUEL TO ENTER A FILTER WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. WE RECENTLY PURCHASED VAN WITH 66000 MILES ON IT, DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING NOW BECAUSE OF ITS PROBLEM. STALLS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ALL LIGHTS DO A PULSE/ SURGE, AND EFFECT DRIVING VEHICLE. WE HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND SEE THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY AIR BAG AND ABS LIGHTS STAYS ON AND MY DOOR LOCKS AND REAR TAIL LIGHTS STOP WORKING I HAVE TO GET FUSES AND LIGHTS REGULARLY
JUST RECENTLY HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS,RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THE SWITCH WAS UNDER RECALL. THE OTHER NIGHT MY HUSBAND WAS FOLLOWING ME HOME AND NOTICED THAT THE BRAKELIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING, AFTER TESTING THINGS OUT WE THOUGHT WE FIGURED THE PROBLEM AND CHANGED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. TODAY WHEN I WENT FOR THE HEADLAMP SWITCH RECALL THE TECH CAME OUT AND SAID OH AND BY THE WAY YOU HAVE NO BREAK LIGHTS. NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO CHECK AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT SEEMS LIKE THERE HAVE BEEN COMPUTER ISSUES. *TR
POWER DOOR LOCKS STOP WORKING. REMOTE CONTROL ACTIVATION OF POWER LIFTGATE ACTIVATES ALARM. SOFTWARE DEFECT IN BODY CONTROL MODULE. CHRYSLER CHARGES FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE ($120 FOR HALF HOUR LABOR). TSB 08-040-04 CAN TEMPORARY FIX BY REMOVING IOD FUSE FOR 30 SECONDS TO RESET THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY ON 5/22/13. VERY LOUD BANG WAS HEARD APPROX 7PM BUT THE SOURCE OF THE BANG COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED OR EVEN CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS VEHICLE-RELATED. NO ABNORMAL PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OF VEHICLE WAS DETECTED AT THAT TIME. NEXT MORNING, 5/23/13, DROVE VEHICLE OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED A RUBBING VIBRATION IN FRONT END, THEN SMELLED RUBBER BURNING. TURNED VEHICLE AROUND AND DROVE IT BACK TO DRIVEWAY AND PARKED THE VEHICLE FOR A TOTAL DISTANCE DRIVEN OF ABOUT 1000 FEET. AS VEHICLE WAS PARKED, CLOUDS OF BILLOWING WHITE SMOKE FROM RIGHT FRONT WHEELWELL APPEARED. INSPECTED OUTSIDE OF TIRE. NO APPARENT PROBLEM. OPENED HOOD. NO APPARENT REASON FOR WHITE SMOKE. THEN BOOM, AND RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT AND TIRE RESTED ON WHEEL RIM. CALLED TOW TRUCK AND WHEN VEHICLE WAS LIFTED ON THE TOW MECHANISM, THE PROBLEM WAS EVIDENT. THE RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN IN HALF AND UNCOILED ITSELF. THE SPRING HAD UNCOILED ITSELF INTO THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RUBBING VIBRATION, BURNING RUBBER SMELL AND SMOKE, AND THE BLOWOUT. THIS FAILURE COULD HAVE EASILY HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING WHICH WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SUDDEN BLOWOUT AND LIKELY LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE LAST 25 MILES DRIVEN PRIOR TO THE COIL SPRING FAILURE WERE FREEWAY MILES, AND THE FAILURE COULD HAVE HAPPENED AN HOUR EARLIER ON 5/22/13 AT 60 TO 70 MPH WITH THE LIKELY OUTCOME THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE AND RUN OFF THE ROAD AND ROLLED OVER. DEALER SAID THAT IN HIS 30 YEARS, HE HAS NOT HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. FAILED PARTS HAVE BEEN RETAINED BY OWNER. PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE IF REQUESTED.
THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER AND YESTERDAY IT MADE A SOUND AS IF THE REAR BRAKES WERE BAD. SO FAR I HAVE FOUND THE CAST BACKING PLATE HAS NO THREADS IN ONE OF THE TWO BOLTHOLES AND THE ALLEN HEAD SIZE OF THE BOLTS IS DIFFERENT. THE FACT THAT THE HOLE HAS NO THREADS IS SCARY; THE BRAKE COULD HAVE COME OFF IF THE OTHER BOLT HAD WORKED OUT. DIFFERENT ALLEN HEAD SIZE IS ALSO UNBELIEVABLE? I THINK THAT THE CASTING WAS FLAWED OR FAULTY DURING MANUFACTURING. I THEN CHECKED THE WEB AND FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH OTHERS? SO I WAS WONDERING IF THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN REPORTED AND IF A RECALL IS IN WORK. *TR
MY CAR WAS PUT INTO DRIVE WITH OUT THERE BEING ANY KEY IN THE IGNITION ROLLED FORWARD I TESTED IT AGAIN TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOMETHING I DID NOT DO AND AGAIN ON A FLAT SERFACE NO KEY IN THE IGNITION NOT FOOT ON THE BRAKE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO DRIVE. *TR
I HAD JUST STARTED THE VAN TO START TO EXIT A PARKING LOT. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 5 MPH. AS I ROUNDED A CORNER TO THE EXIT, THE VAN'S ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. I COULDN'T STEER AND THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK. I HAD TO COAST UNTIL THE VAN STOPPED TO THE GEAR IN PARK AND ATTEMPT A RESTART. AFTER I WAS AT A COMPLETE STANDSTILL I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE GEAR TO PARK AND RESTART THE VAN. MY AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY ARE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. I FOUND A RECALL #07V192000 THAT APPEARED TO ADDRESS MY PROBLEM BUT CHRYSLER SAYS THAT MY VIN # IS NOT COVERED. I ALSO FOUND RECALL #10V008000 WHICH ALSO ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM BUT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT MANUFACTURED DURING THE DATES OF THIS ONE. OBVIOUSLY CHRYSLER KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE ON VEHICLES MANUFACTURED DURING THE SAME TIME AS MINE BUT THEY HAVE EXCLUDED CERTAIN VEHICLES MANUFACTURED DURING THIS TIME FRAME THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE, LIKE MINE. *TR
SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF ENGINE RIPPING OUT THE TREADS SHOP RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE HEAD. BECAUSE ENGINE CAUSED SPARK PLUG TO COME LOOSE. THIS IS A POOR DESIGN TO HAVE PARTS WORK THEIR WAY OUT AND COULD BE A DANGER IF IT HIT SOMEONE. *TR
VAN LOOSES 1 QUART OF OIL APPROXIMATELY EVERY 700 TO 1000 MILES, I AM HAVING TO PUT IN 3 TO 4 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB YET CHRYSLER HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. ENGINE SHOULD NOT BE LOOSING THIS MUCH OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. STARTED WITH ERRATIC JUMPING OF INSTRUMENT NEEDLES SYNCHRONOUS WITH ELECTRICAL POPPING IN SOUND SYSTEM AND FLICKERING OF ALL LIGHTS. HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE TO NOW, KILLING THE ENGINE SUDDENLY WHILE UNDER POWER CONDITIONS, LEAVING VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND NECESSITATING SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL WHILE AT FULL ROAD SPEED, AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE TO REGAIN OPERATIVE CONTROL, ALL WHILE IN OPERATION ON THE ROAD IN TRAFFIC. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON FOUR OCCASIONS DURING THE PAST THREE WEEKS TO THIS DATE. VEHICLE ALSO HAS ELECTRICAL "HICCUPS" RESULTING IN DISENGAGEMENT OF TRANSMISSION UNDER OPERATING CONDITIONS, WHICH HAS SO FAR (SIX INCIDENCES) RE-ENGAGED WITHIN TEN SECONDS PURSUANT.THIS MORNING, JULY 11, 2013, WHILE AWAITING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE KILLED AND THE ENTIRE SYSTEM LOCKED UP FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, INCLUDING INABILITY TO MOVE SHIFTER, NO RESPONSE TO KEY IN IGNITION; COMPLETE SHUTDOWN. APPROXIMATELY FOUR TO FIVE MINUTES LATER, IT SUDDENLY UNLOCKED, WAS ABLE TO BE PUT IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED, AND DRIVEN AWAY WITH NO INDICATION OF ANY DIFFICULTY, AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. ALL OF THE ABOVE EVENTS HAVE BEEN SIMILARLY INTERMITTENT AND UNPREDICTABLE. IT IS APPARENT TO ME THAT SOMETHING IS DEFECTIVE IN THIS VEHICLE, AND I HAVE ENCOUNTERED SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF CHRYSLER TRUCKS AND MINIVANS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AT 1800 853-1403 TO FIND OUT INFORMATION ON ANY AIR BAG RECALLS, HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THE RECALL WAS SERVICED ON NOVEMBER 15,2007 AND THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED PROPERLY OR WAS NOT FIXED AT ALL. *TR

SECOND INCIDENT: SAME AS THE FIRST INCIDENT, ONLY A WEEK LATER. EMPTY TANK, FILLED IT UP, SHUT OFF ABOUT A MINUTE LATER. LOW AIR PRESSURE IN TIRE(S) LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2005 WALTER P CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WHEN MY WIFE AND I LEFT OUR HOUSE. TURNED AROUND AND CAME HOME TO CHECK AIR IN TIRES. FRONT RIGHT TIRE WAS LOW AND WHEN I TOOK THE CAP OFF, THE VALVE STEM BROKE OFF IN MY HAND. THE TIRE COMPLETELY LOST ALL AIR IN A MATTER OF SEVERAL SECONDS. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND GRANDKIDS LATER THAT EVENING AND WITH THE TEMPERATURE DROPPING TO NEAR ZERO, IT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY SCARY SITUATION. ON THE INTERSTATE I-75 IN TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AT NIGHT, HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING WITH FAMILY OF 4. QUICKLY ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON AND OFF THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH WHICH TURNED THE LIGHTS BACK ON. MY TEENAGER HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT PROBLEMS TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON PREVIOUSLY, WHICH I HAD IGNORED, STATING THAT SHE TURNED THE LIGHT SWITCH ON BUT THE HEADLAMPS DID NOT GO ON BUT THAT THE YELLOW SIDE MARKERS DID TURN ON. HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM REPEATEDLY OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS. CHRYSLER DEALER TOM AHL IN LIMA OHIO WAS INFORMED OF THE ISSUE BUT WOULD NOT INSPECT OR SERVICE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT CHARGING AN INSPECTION FEE, AS NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM. I DECLINED TO PAY THIS AND ASKED THEM TO ENTER THE ISSUE INTO THEIR SERVICE DATABASE. *TR
