REAR AXLE BRACE THAT FASTENS REAR WHEEL TO BODY BROKE ,LEAVING WHEEL ONLY FASTENED BY SPRING AND SHOCK , FLOPPING ERRATICALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO US ONCE AT 20 MPH AND ONCE AT 40 MPH .WE BOTH TIMES BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A SLOW EASY STOP ..WE SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, AT ANY HIGHER SPEEDS.THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP WE SHOWED PHOTOS OF THE BROKEN BAR TO AFTER THE FIRST BREAK EXPRESSED SURPRISE ,"WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE " WAS THEIR COMMENT. THE BREAK WAS AT THE CUT-OUT HOLE IN THE BRACE ,THE HOLE IS FAIRLY LARGE , BIG ENOUGH TO STICK ALL 5 FINGERS INTO.(WE NOTICE THAT AFTER 2009 MODELS, THIS FAIRLY LARGE CUT-OUT HOLE WAS REDUCED TO A QUARTER INCH SLIT , ON THE MODELS WE CHECKED. CHRYSLER WANTED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE REAR AXLE ,BUT WE ENDED UP TAKING IT TO A MASTER WELDER WHO AS A FAVOR WELDED AND SANDED IT TO WHERE YOU COULD NOT TELL THERE WAS EVER A BREAK..6 MONTHS LATER IN OCTOBER 2015, IT HAPPENED AGAIN BREAKING ABOUT 2 INCHES FROM THE FIRST EPISODE BREAK,ON THE SAME PIECE OF METAL .WE WERE AT ABOUT 40 MPH ,THE BACK WHEEL FLOPPING ,ALMOST THROWING US OFF THE ROAD.THIS TIME WE REQUESTED OUR WELDER FRIEND TO ADD PLATES TO THE BRACE ,PHOTO OF FINISHED JOB ENCLOSED , YOU CAN STILL SEE THE ORIGINAL CUT-OUT. .WE FIGURED WE JUST ENDED UP WITH A BAD PIECE OF METAL ON OUR VAN. BUT THEN IN APRIL 2016,MY NEPHEW ,WHO HAS A 2008 CHRYSLER BUILT VAN (SOLD BY VW) EXPERIENCED EXACTLY THE SAME AXLE BRACE FAILURE,WHILE MOVING, AT EXACTLY THE SAME SPOT IN THE BRACE,AT THE SAME TYPE OF CUTOUT HOLE.HE LIVES ABOUT 5 MILES FROM US, I PERSONALLY EXAMINED HIS VAN AXLE BRACE ,AND WE DISCOVERED THE OTHER SIDE BRACE WAS ALMOST BROKEN THROUGH TOO ..HE HAS A WIFE AND 3 SMALL CHILDREN,THIS WAS VERY TRAUMATIC THING FOR THE FAMILY. WE CONCLUDED THIS MUST BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND WONDER IF PEOPLE ARE NOT DYING ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM THIS OBVIOUS AXLE BRACE DEFECT.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO CUT OFF AT ANYTIME IN TRAFFIC, ON THE HIGHWAY, MAKING A TURN IT IS VERY SCARY WITH MY GRAND KIDS IN THE VEHICLE. OR ANY PASSENGERS RECENTLY. I HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING IT TO START WITH OUT WIGGLING THE KEY. IT WILL ALSO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK MY DOORS AND TRUNK THEY ARE POWERED. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES ALREADY AND EACH TIME THEY SAY THAT THEY ARE SORRY BUT THE PARTS ARE ON ORDER HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ORDER PARTS FOR MY CAR ITS BEEN A YEAR AND HALF WITH NO RESULTS. DO I HAVE TO GET KILLED FIRST BEFORE CHRYSLER FIXES THIS PROBLEM IT IS A RECALL # R03 AND #11V-139 AND I'M GETTING FEED UP . I GUESS IF I'M WILLING TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR THEN IT WILL GET FIXED !!!!!!!

THE UPHOLSTERY STITCHING ON THE THIRD ROW SEATS CAME LOOSE CAUSING THE SEAT BELT BUCKLES TO COME LOOSE. THE UPHOLSTERY STITCHING DIDN'T UNRAVEL BECAUSE THERE ARE NO LOOSE THREADS BUT RATHER SEEMED TO DISSOLVE.

YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN MY ENGINE STALLED, AND THE HORN STARTED BLARING. NOT HONKING OR ALARM SOUND, BUT SOLID BLARING. MY WIPERS TURNED ON HIGH, AND THE WINDSHIELD WASH STARTED SPRAYING ALL OVER. FRONT AND REAR WASH AND WIPERS. MY REVERSE LIGHTS WERE ON, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. ALSO, THE FAN INSIDE THE VAN FOR THE HEATER/AC ISN'T WORKING. THIS SPELL LASTED 3-5 MINUTES. AFTERWARD, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VAN AND CONTINUE ON MY WAY. TODAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED, SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE. 2 OF THE 3 TIMES HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET, APPROX 25-30 MPH.
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN, APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES AN HOUR, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF, AND I LOST POWER STEERING, AND BRAKES DUE TO THE ENGINE BEING OFF. THE HORN WAS BLOWING CONSTANTLY, NOT HONKING OR ALARM SOUNDING, BUT BLARING. MY WIPERS WERE ON HIGH, AND WINDSHIELD WASH WAS SPRAYING ALL OVER. MY REVERSE LIGHTS WERE ON, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER THIS SPELL STOPPED. ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES. THE NEXT DAY, (TODAY) THE VERY SAME THING HAPPENED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF STARTING THE VEHICLE. AND THE SPELL LASTED ABOUT 5 MINUTES. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE TODAY. FIRST THE HORN STARTED BLARING, THEN THE WIPERS TURNED ON HIGH, AND WINDSHIELD WASH STARTED SPRAYING, AND THE ENGIN STALLED. EVEN UPON REMOVING THE KEY, AND OPENING THE DOOR, THE ABOVE LISTED PROBLEMS CONTINUED FOR 5 OR MORE MINUTES. ALSO, THE FAN, FOR THE HEAT/AC ISN'T WORKING RIGHT NOW EITHER. IT COMES AND GOES.

I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AFTER REPEATED CALLS TO A DEALERSHIP THEY NEVER HAVE THE PART. HOW CAN I GET THE RECALL FIXED?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS AND BRAKES WERE BEGINNING TO FAIL AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TRAVELING EAST ON I 180, IN LEFT LANE READY TO TURN ONTO I 80 EAST, TOOK CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND A LOUD REVVING NOISE OCCURRED, ENGINE SHUT DOWN. SAFELY, THROUGH BUILT UP MOMENTUM WAS ABLE TO MOVE ACROSS HIGHWAY TO BERM OFF OF RIGHT LANE. INITIALLY THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE TRANSMISSION. WAS TOWED TO GARAGE AND AFTER INITIAL CHECK, THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A SHIFTING ROD. TRANSMISSION WAS REMOVED FROM CAR AND FURTHER TESTING SHOWED IT WAS THE "TORQUE CONVERTER". PART HAS BEEN ORDERED, WAITING TILL PART COMES IN AND CAN BE REPLACED IN CAR. IF HIGHWAY HAD NOT BEEN CLEAR BEHIND US AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT, ALL 3 PASSENGERS IN THE VAN WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY ONCOMING TRACTOR TRAILERS, ETC. IT WAS A VERY STRESSFUL MOMENT FOR ALL OF US.

WHEN SHUTTING OFF ENGINE TODAY, 08/26/15, SWITCH WOULD NOT GO TO THE "OFF" POSITION BUT STAYED IN ACCESSORY POSITION CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DRAIN. WE HAVE BEEN ON THE RECALL LIST FOR OVER A YEAR AND DEALER TELLS US HE IS UNABLE TO GET PARTS. WE HAVE CALLED OUR LOCAL DEALER, DON NESTER CHRYSLER IN HOUGHTON LAKE MI NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT OUR CONCERN OVER THIS RECALL. I CALLED THEM AGAIN THIS MORNING AND WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET THE PARTS THROUGH CHRYSLER SO I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TALKED TO DAMON. HE THEN CALLED THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS IN MY 48653 AREA LOOKING FOR PARTS. WHEN HE WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THEM HE TOLD ME I WOULD JUST "HAVE TO WAIT". I EXPLAINED THAT I NEEDED THE PARTS SHIPPED OVER NIGHT TO MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I THEN ASKED FOR A LOANER AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS NOT A OPTION. I THEN ASKED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR AND HE REFUSED TO CONNECT ME TO ANYONE ELSE. HIS ONLY SUGGESTION WAS TO CALL EVERY DEALER IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN TO GET ON THERE LIST! I NOW HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD VAN THAT IS NOT OPERABLE, AND THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR!

WE HAVE CALLED REGARDING THE RECALL PARTS BUT CONTINUE HEARING THAT THEY HAVE TO PARTS IN STOCK. I CALLED ANOTHER TIME AND I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR THE RECALL PARTS, THEN TOLD THAT THE PART WAS NOT COVERED IT WAS A SENOR THAT WAS REPLACED, I WAS CHARGED AND SENT ON MY WAY SAYING THAT MY RECALLED PART WAS NOT BAD AND DID NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED OUT. HOWEVER THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUED AT TIME I NEED MY CAR SO THAT I CAN WORK, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TODAY AND WAS TOLD BY ONE PERSON THAT THEY HAVE SOME RECALL PARTS IN STOCK THEN MY CALL WAS SENT TO A VOICEMAIL. I FOLLOWED UP AN HOUR LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL PARTS ARE FOR OTHER PEOPLE ON THE LIST AND THAT THEY WOULD ADD ME TO THE LIST ( I HAVE ALREADY BEEN ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME). THEN I EXPRESSED CONCERN REGARDING THE SENSOR I DID HAVE TO FIX AND PAID FOR SEEMED TO BE GOING BAD AS WELL AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO OPENING UNTIL 8/31/15. I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY, BUT WHAT AM I TO DO, I AM AT THE MERCY OF THE RECALLED PARTS AND THE DEALERSHIP AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO NEXT. PLEASE HELP ME

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
