The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. The stated the vehicle was previously included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags) and the vehicle was repaired under the recall. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired, while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and decelerated to approximately 10 MPH. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle and the vehicle revved, but the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to start prior to the failure. The contact had to turn the key, release the key, and turn the key again before being able to start the vehicle. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I was driving down the road and suddenly my van shut down causing me to drive over a curb and now my van does not start it cranks and there is a spark however it does not turnover and start and does not run!

Vehicle shuts off while driving
Air conditioning condensation leaking below dashboard and onto carpet, causing electrical shorts in air bag and anti-lock brake (ABS). Chrysler identified this issue and issued a recall (K25) in January 2011, but only for vehicles manufactured through December 3, 2008. In consultation with Chrysler and according to its own internal documentation, my vehicle (manufactured in February 2009) has the same defective parts and is prone to the same safety issues caused by condensation leaking into critical electronic safety components, but they refuse to remedy the safety issue "due to it not being subject to the recall" -- despite Chrysler personnel conceding that my February-2009 was manufactured with the same, identical, flawed parts as those 2008 and earlier 2009 models that are subject to recall K25.
Driving the van and it shuts have no power! It has happened several times
Chrysler aka FCA has recently recalled TPMS sensors of 2022 vehicles but has NOT recalled the 2009 Town and Country TPMS systems. I bought my 2009 Town and Country new and bought the MaxiCare bumper to bumper lifetime no deductible warranty for it. It now has 180,000 miles on it. I've complained to the local dealer on numerous occasions about the TPMS giving false warnings. They have changed components for several years, but the problem has never been resolved. I've given them numerous videos of the false warnings as they happened. They have been unable to resolve the problem even after consulting Chrysler "experts" by setting up STAR Claims with Chrysler Corporation. This is a safety issue. The false audible and dash light warnings take place driving on expressways. The light stays lit for many miles. Then the system resets and the same thing can happen the same day or days or weeks later. The last date was 8/4/22. Attached photos are frames from the 8/4/22 videos I made showing 264.7 Trip Miles Alarm with two normal and two flat tires, 265.4 Trip Miles all 4 tires flat, 299.2 Trip Miles all 4 tires still flat, 341.8 Trip Miles normal display with normal tire pressures shown in all 4 tires after system reset itself.
The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V373000 (Electrical System, Air Bags). However, upon driving the vehicle after the repair, she noticed that the speedometer and fuel gauge were no longer operating as needed. The dealer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 131,645.
The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated after parking the vehicle at her residence, shortly after she heard a loud abnormal noise. The contact stated when she approached the vehicle, she saw the front driver’s and passenger’s side airbags had deployed independently, shattering the front windshield and rear passenger’s side windows. The contact stated no one was injured nor sought medical attention. The contact towed the vehicle to a local dealer where it remained. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and pulling into a parking lot, the vehicle inadvertently stalled and the ignition key was released. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that she reinserted the key into the ignition switch and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred as she was attempting to pull into a parking space. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the camshaft had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred twice while driving from the independent mechanic to her residence. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The contact contacted an unknown dealer who advised that they were not aware of that specific failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 174,000.
The vehicle has began stalling while driving and the power steering and power brakes do not work after the car stalls. This is an extreme safety hazard for my wife and kids who use this vehicle and have found it difficult to steer and stop while driving. The problem could not be replicated by a service center and no solution was found. This problem has been occurring since August 2021 (which is when we bought the vehicle).
The van was parked and ignition turned off. Airbags deployed without warning. No collision, no bumpy road conditions, and no warning prior to deployment. Van was inspected at repair shop through insurance where they determined it was a manufacturer issue. When we contacted the manufacturer they stated since there was no recall they could not help us. Police was called and report made. Also have witnesses that van was parked and turned off at the time. Thankfully no one was in vehicle or could have been worse. Front airbags are the only ones that deployed.
Our 2009 chrysler town and country is having major issues. The dashboard lights keep going on and off the speedometer won't work when this is happening also the windshield wipers go on automatically with me putting them on and won't stop. Sometimes while this occurs our automatic door won't operate or radio. We got a new alternator a new battery a new iod fuse and it's still happening i wasn't sure if this was a normal occurrence for chryslers so I did some research my van isn't the only one with the same issues we unfortunately bought it used a few months ago and can't take it back to the lot.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) SPONTANEOUSLY GIVE FALSE ALARM WITH AUDIBLE WARNING, FLASHING YELLOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING DASH LIGHT, "CHECK TPM SYSTEM" DISPLAY LIGHTS THEN MESSAGE DISPLAY SHOWS THE TIRE PRESSURE IN THE FOUR TIRES. THEN THE TIRE PRESSURE DISPLAY ONE AT A TIME DELETES DISPLAY OF TWO DIGIT TIRE PRESSURES AND REPLACES EACH TIRE PRESSURE DISPLAY WITH "- -" IN PLACE OF THE ACTUAL PRESSURE UNTIL ALL FOUR TIRE PRESSURES ARE DISPLAYED AS "- -" AND THAT FALSE TIRE PRESSURE DISPLAY CONTINUES FOR MANY MINUTES WHILE THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY SHOWS PRESENCE OF SYSTEM WARNING. THE LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE ON EACH TIRES CAN ORIGINATE WITH ANY OF THE FOUR TIRES AND CONTINUES UNTIL ALL FOUR ARE "- -" READINGS. THE SYSTEM CONTINUES THE FALSE WARNING FOR MANY MINUTES. THE SYSTEM CAN SPONTANEOUS RESET THE FALSE WARNING TO NORMAL OPERATION DURING THE SAME TRAVEL. THE SYSTEM CAN CONTINUE THE FALSE WARNING AFTER THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF, THE KEY FOB REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE VEHICLE DOOR OPENED. THE FALSE WARNING CAN ARISE SPONTANEOUSLY UNDER ANY TRAVEL CONDITIONS WHETHER STOPPED OR IN MOTION, ON ROUGH CITY STREETS OR SMOOTH EXPRESSWAY, WHETHER TRAVELING STRAIGHT OR TURNING. THE FALSE WARNING CAN HAPPEN FREQUENTLY OR INTERMITTENTLY WEEKS OR MONTHS BETWEEN EVENTS. MY COMPLAINTS STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD MUCH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. FOR FIVE YEARS OR SO THE DEALER WHO SOLD THE VEHICLE TO ME HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN AFTER CONSULTING THE CHRYSLER TECH SUPPORT PEOPLE DESPITE MY NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND PROVIDING VIDEO AND STILL PHOTO EVIDENCE OF THE EVENT HAPPENING AND GIVING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER A NO DEDUCTIBLE CHRYSLER BUMPER TO BUMPER LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR WHICH I PAID THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I HAVE VIDEO AND STILL PHOTOS DOCUMENTING THE EVENTS.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL FOR THE IGNITION KEY SWITCH. I HAD IT REPAIRED THROUGH THE RECALL ON 1-13-2016. IT IS NOW 2021 AND THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. WHEN KEY IS IN THE IGNITION IT TURNS BUT WON'T START THE CAR. I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY TURN IT ON AND OFF. WHILE DRIVING THE DASH LIGHT COME ON INDICATING A SLIPPERY BRAKE LIGHTS WARNING. WHEN I FIRST START IT UP, I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF PARK WITH BRAKE APPLIED. I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF AND REMOVE KEY AND RE-INSERT AND TURN IT ON. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THEY SAID THERE WAS ONLY A 2 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE RECALLED PART AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW KEY UNIT. THIS IS A REPEAT PROBLEM AND NEEDS ANOTHER RECALL. THE WIN MODULE IS ACTING UP AGAIN. I WENT ONLINE AT REPAIRPAL.COM AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I ONLY HAVE 34000 MILES ON THIS 2009 VAN.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V396000 (Air Bags, Steering) and took the vehicle to the dealer to have the emblem removed. The contact was informed that once the replacement emblem was received, he could bring the vehicle back. The contact stated that he contacted the dealer several times and was informed that the replacement emblem was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that he placed duct tape on the steering to cover the emblem screw holes. The contact stated that he was concerned about the airbag deploying while driving over a bump. The contact attempted to call the manufacturer but was unable to speak to anyone. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
THE SRS (AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT) CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AND THEN STAYED ON CONSTANTLY ON MY WIFE'S 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VAN IN JULY 2020. I TOOK THE VAN INTO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THEY FOUND THAT THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BY PART # 68148358AA (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MODULE). THE DEALER CHARGED ME $735 FOR THE REPAIR. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS MADE I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL FOR FAULTY OCCUPANT RESTRAINT MODULES ON CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VEHICLES MANUFACTURED JUNE 18, 2007, TO AUGUST 31, 2008. THE RECALL NUMBER IS S07. I CHECKED THE MANUFACTURING DATE ON OUR CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN SEPTEMBER 2008 (ONE MONTH AFTER THE DATE RANGE FOR RECALL S07). I CALLED CHRYSLER AND ASKED IF OUR VAN SHOULD BE COVERED SINCE IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED IN RECALL S07. THE RESPONSE WAS THAT THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT THE VIN NUMBER RANGE IN THE RECALL WAS SET BY THE NHTSA. IT APPEARS THAT OTHER OWNERS OF 2009 CHRYLSER TOWN & COUNTRY VANS MANUFACTURED AFTER AUGUST 2008 ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES OF THE ORC MODULES. I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THE SAME ISSUE THAT CAUSED RECALL S07 IS PRESENT ON THE CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE AUGUST 2008 MANUFACTURING DATE. WHEN I ASKED THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT IF THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ORC ASSEMBLY THEY SAID NO AND THAT THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME IS IF THE VIN NUMBER RANGE WAS EXTENDED BY THE NHTSA (CASE NUMBER 76954596). WOULD YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND IF YOU FIND THE ISSUE THAT LEAD TO RECALL S07 EXISTS IN CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VANS MANUFACTURED AFTER AUGUST 2008, EXTEND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE ALL THE VANS THAT HAVE THIS CONDITION? EMBLELM ON AIRBAG WAS REMOVED BY THE DEALER, THIS IS THERE RESOLUTION TO THE REPAIR, I NOW HAVE A EMPTY EMBLEM HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG, THEY ADVISED ME THEY DONT KNOW IF THEY ARE COMING UP WITH A REPAIR FOR THE AIRBAG. I HAVE PATIENTLY WAITED OVER 6 MONTHS AND AM LOOSING INCOME WITH THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE SAFTEY RECALL.

UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP INTERMITTENTLY WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE MODULE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL DEALER WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, SHE WAS LATER INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC DUE TO THE VEHICLE STARTING WITH A NEW BATTERY. SHE WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED, THE MECHANIC COULD NOT CORRECTLY DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING VERY UNSAFE. YOU LOOSE ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN IT SHUTS OFF STEERING AND BRAKES
AT ANY RANDOM TIME WHILE DRIVING THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, CAR ENGINE FAILS, BREAKS AND STEERING LOCK UP AND YOUR JUST STUCK WHERE EVER YOU HAPPEN TO BE. TURN CAR COMPLETELY OFF WAIT A FEW MINUTES TURN BACK ON AND CAR SOMETIMES WILL RUN FINE FOR DAYS AND SOMETIMES IMMEDIATELY DO THE SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR A FAMILY VEHICLE, HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC! THERE'S NO WARNING OR NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. MULTIPLE CARS JUST LIKE MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY HAVE THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO FIX IT!
THE CAR ONLY MAKES ONE CLICK OR SOMETIMES NOTHING WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WILL START RIGHT UP , SOMETIMES IT WILL START WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL ,BATTERY AND STARTER HAVE BEEN REPLACED TO NO AVAIL ! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR , SOMETIMES A COUPLE OF WEEKS WILL GO BY WITH NO ISSUE !

THE CONSUMER HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE *BF *AS PER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CLOCK SPRING THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,500.
AS I WAS DRIVING, AND WITH NO DASHBOARD WARNING ALERT, THE BRAKES SUDDENLY SANK TO THE FLOOR. I DROVE EXTREMELY SLOWLY, CONTINUING ON TOWARDS MY APARTMENT, AND EACH TIME I HAD TO STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOOR. I MANAGED TO GET HOME SAFELY, BUT THE CAR STILL HAS NO BRAKES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER A FEW HOURS, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS SUCCESSFUL; HOWEVER, IT STALLED A FEW MINUTES LATER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE CODES APPEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
SEE ATTACHED LETTER OUTLINING MY COMPLAINT. I PURCHASED A CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MINIVAN FROM SECURITY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM IN AMITYVILLE, LONG ISLAND IN FEBRUARY 2009. APPROXIMATELY EVERY TWO YEARS OR SO SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR, THE EGR VALVE FAILS, RESULTING IN ME HAVING TO REPLACE IT. NOW IN JULY OF 2019, THE EGR VALVE HAS FAILED AGAIN AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME THIS DARN PART HAS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED!!
I HAVE CHANGED MY RADIATOR FAN AND THE RELAY SWITCH TWICE NOW. MY MECHANIC IS NOW SAYING THAT IT MUST BE A COMPUTER ISSUE BUT WHEN A DIAGNOSTIC IS RUN, NOTHING COMES BACK. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SLOWLY CLIMBS AND THE ENGINE RUNS HOT. THE RADIATOR FAN KICKS IN AND OUT, CYCLING FAST SHORT CYCLES.
WILL BE DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN A CITY STREET GOING OUT 40MPH. THE VEHICLE WILL THEN JUST LOOSE POWER AND TURN OFF. DID NOT HIT A BUMP OR SPEED UP OR ANYTHING. AFTER LOOSING POWER WILL TRY TO CONTROL VAN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT WILL SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES. WILL THEN START IT AGAIN AND LEAVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS.
DROVE VEHICLE IN THE MORNING OF 5/31/19. DROVE ABOUT 25 MILES. GOT HOME SAT ABOUT HOUR. TURNED KEY TO START AND NO NOISE. BUT HAVE FULL POWER TO EVERYTHING ELSE. THERE IS NO NOISE WHEN YOU TURN KEY.
THE CAR DIES WHEN COMING TO STOP. INTERMITTENT CAR CAN NOT RESTART, THERE IS NO ELECTRIC POWER TO RESTART CAR, TOTALLY NO ELECTRIC CAN NOT EVEN TURN ON HAZARD LIGHTS. WAS STRUCK IN MIDDLE LANE WITH CARS COMING ON 55 MPH ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS. COULD OF BEEN KILLED.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. PORTAGE CHRYSLER (LOCATED AT 3013 COUNTY HWY CX, PORTAGE, WI 53901, (608) 742-7141) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
I JUST BOUGHT A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. IT'S NOT EVEN BEEN A FULL MONTH, I PAID 9,000 CASH AND ALREADY THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN I COME TO STOP. I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FOR THE SECOND TIME AND IT SHUT OFF ON ME 3 TIMES FROM THE SHOP TO MY HOUSE. I HAVE 3 KIDS I SPENT ALL MY SAVINGS IN THIS CAR THE USED CAR LOT ONLY HAS A 30 DAY WARRANTY AND IT'S ALMOST UP IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE AND STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. ITS NEEDS TO BE FIXED A.S.A.P *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN NAVAJO BOULEVARD A MAIN ROAD IN HOLBROOK ARIZONA A VEHICLE COMING FROM A SIDE ROAD PULLED IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID A COLLISION. I THEN PROCEEDED DOWN NAVAJO BOULEVARD AND QUICKLY REALIZED THAT I HAD NO POWER NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, NOTHING ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED DOWN THE ROAD AND TURN ONTO A SIDE ROAD TO THE SIDE UNTIL IT COMPLETELY QUIT RUNNING AND WAS ABLE TO STOP ON ITS OWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS OVER A HILL, SHE RAN THROUGH A STOP SIGN, SLID THROUGH WINTER GRAVEL, AND CRASHED INTO A DRAINAGE DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE, BACK, AND LEG THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN VIA AMBULANCE AND WAS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING PHYSICAL THERAPY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A CITATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000. *DT*JB
WHEN DRIVING MY TOWN AND COUNTRY, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ALL THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS START FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE WINDHSHIELD WIPERS COME ON, THE VEHICLE TURNS COMPLETELY OFF AND WILL NOT START AGAIN FOR A FEW MINUTES. SINCE THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF, THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT ALONG WITH THE POWER BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THINKING IT WOULD BE SAFE AND RELIABLE FOR OUR KIDS. BOY WERE WE WRONG! THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE OFF THE STREETS! UNFORTUNATELY IT'S MY ONLY VEHICLE AND IT'S FINANCED, SO NOW I AM STUCK DRIVING MY KIDS IN THIS DEATH TRAP. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! THESE VEHICLES ARE MADE FOR FAMILIES, HOW DARE YOU PUT SO MANY LIVES IN DANGER TO MAKE A BUCK! RECALL THESE NOW!
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. ACTED LIKE IT WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. BATTERY WOULD DRAIN OVERNIGHT. SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. TOOK TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE TIPM HAD A COUPLE BAD RELAYS. ORDERED A EXTERNAL RELAY KIT FROM CHRYSLER PER A SERVICE BULLETIN. REPAIR SOLVED THE FUEL PUMP PROBLEM.

MY VEHICLE FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE JUST STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. ALL THE ELECTRICAL STUFF STAYS ON BUT THE ENGINE JUST STOPS RUNNING. THERE IS ALSO A SMOKE SMELL THAT WAS COMING FROM THE BACK SLIDING DOORS A SHORT TIME AGO AND THEN THE DOORS STOPPED SHUTTING CORRECTLY AND THEY WOULDN'T LOCK. OVER NIGHT THE BATTERY WOULD DIE FROM THE DOORS NOT SHUTTING CORRECTLY. NOW WE JUST HAVE THE DOORS SHUT OFF SO THAT WE DON'T HAVE ANYMORE ISSUES WITH IT DYING ALL THE TIME AND JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST WHEN DRIVING IT THAT IT DOESN'T DIE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I LOOKED UP RECALLS WITH THIS VEHICLE IT SAID THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BUT WHEN I PUT IN MY VIN IT SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUES. NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. SOMETIME OVERNIGHT ON JAN 1/2ND 2019 MY VEHICLE STARTED ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN USE, WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY, AND HAD NOT BEEN IN USE SINCE THE MORNING BEFORE. THE FIRE MUST HAVE WENT OUT ON ITS OWN. BUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO BOTH THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE INSIDE OF THE VAN SMELLS HEAVILY OF ELECTRICAL SMOKE.

THE CONTACT WAS STATED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
MY CAR STOPS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING, EASILY RESTARTS AFTER SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL. HOWEVER, RPM GOES TO ZERO, LOSE POWER STEERING. DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO KEY FOB RECALL. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES, USUALLY WHEN WEATHER IS COLDER LIKE 30 DEGREE. HAVE ALSO NOTICE BLIND SPOT AID SYSTEM WILL PERIODICALLY NOT FUNCTION. HEATED SEAT LIGHT OCCASIONALLY DO NOT FUNCTION. THE BLIND SPOT AND HEATED SEATS ARE MINOR COMPARED TO CAR STOPPING DEAD. IT DID RECENTLY WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE AND WAS VERY SCARY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THEY STATE THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES SHOWING. I TOLD MY HUSBAND IF I DIE IN A VEHICLE CRASH, ESPECIALLY IF REAR ENDED OR WHILE TURNING TO SUE CHRYSLER. DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN WARM WEATHER. I'M AFRAID TO HAVE ANYONE IN MY VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY MY FIVE GRANDKIDS. I STAY OFF INTERSTATES BECAUSE OF THIS, AND HAVE SPENT MORE TIME LOOKING BEHIND ME FOR POSSIBLY GETTING REAR ENDED. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. ONE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENS, WHICH I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. ITS LIKE PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WHILE GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL. THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYTIME, DRIVING 55, 35, 25 MPH, WHILE GOING STRAIGHT, OR TWICE WHILE TURNING. I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, OR PERHAPS THE IGNITION SYSTEM AND KEY FOB RECALL. MY CAR HAS 84330 MILES. IT'S HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. FREQUENCY SEEMS TO BE GETTING GREATER.
ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WHOLE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. NO LIGHTS, POWER STEERING GOES OUT, BRAKES LOCK UP AND ENGINE SHUTS DOWN. THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS I WAS DRIVING.
MY VEHICLE WILL STOP AFTER I HAVE FINISHED DRIVING IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE FREQUENTLY. I WILL HAVE TO JUMP START MY BATTERY AND THEN THE ENGINE WILL START. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING OVERNIGHT OR FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME (MEANING OVER 6 HOURS). I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC SAID IT A BIG PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTY. THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IS NOT WORKING RIGHT AND CAUSING MY BATTERY TO DRAIN OR NOT START. HE SAID THERE ARE RECALLS FOR VERY SIMILAR CARS AND MODELS, BUT CHECKED MY VIN AND IT WAS NOT ON MY VEHICLE. I NEED TO THE COMPANY TO LOOK INTO THIS AS THIS SEEMS LIKE A PROBLEM THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS IF THE CAR STOPS ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING.
MOTOR SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING AT LOW SPEEDS UP TO 40 MPH. WITH ENGINE SHUT OFF VERY HARD TO STEER OR APPLY BRAKES. PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK AND IT WILL START BACK UP. WHEN MOTOR SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING MAKING FOR A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.CAR SHUTS DOWN ON CITY STREETS AND ALSO ON THE HIGHWAY. SEEMS TO HAPPEN AS THE WEATHER COOLS DOWN. ONLY LIGHT THAT APPEARS ON DASH IS THE TRACTION CONTROL WHEN THE MOTOR SHUTS DOWN. HAVE NOW QUIT USING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF DANGEROUS CONDITION IT CREATES
