WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON EXPRESSWAY THE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY CRACKED IN HALF CAUSING UNCONTROLABLE UNSTABLE/SWAYING MOTION WHICH IN TURN CAUSED DRIVING THE VEHICLE OVER 15 MPH IMPOSSIBLE. I BELEIVE THAT IF I WERE DRIVING AT NORMAL HWY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE FLIPPED OVER OR CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
OK ABOUT 2 YEARS I BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE KEY IGNITION TURNING OFF AND ON DONT WANT TO GO . THEY HAD SENT ME INFO ABOUT RECALL ON CREDIT CARMA A YEAR AGO AND THEY NEVER HELP ME. THE VAN IS STILL DOING THAT.
MY VAN STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND WOULD NOT RESTART. IT WAS NOT MAKING ANY NOISE AT THIS TIME, WHEN IT COOLED DOWN IT RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE WAS KNOCKING. THE CAR THEN SPUTTERED AND STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. NO LIGHTS CAME ON EXCEPT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. MY VAN HAS 132,000 MILES AND HAS GOTTEN OIL CHANGES ON TIME.
LT LOW BEAM COMES ON FOR 3 SECONDS WHEN CAR IS UNLOCKED, THEN STAYS OFF MOST OF THE TIME. I'VE TRIED ALL SWITCH POSITIONS. OCCASIONALLY IT HAS COME ON FOR SUSTAINED PERIODS BUT THAT HASN'T HAPPENED FOR A WHILE. I'VE WIGGLED THE BULB CONNECTION WITH NO EFFECT. CHECKING ON LINE, I FOUND SIMILAR PROBLEMS SIMILAR PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT. ACTED IGNORANT OF SUCH PROBLEMS AND CHECKED THE RECALL LIST. I'M LUCKY, IT ONLY HAPPENS ON ONE SIDE, BUT I'M UNEASY ABOUT WHEN THE OTHER SIDE GOES OUT. NOT TO MENTION GETTING A CITATION FOR A NON FUNCTIONING SAFETY ITEM.
DRIVING ON ROAD MOTOR JUST STOPPED FOR NO REASON , PUT IT IN (N ) TURN KEY STARTS BACK TO RUNNING, PUT BACK IN ( D ) AND GO ON DOWN ROAD .UNTIL THE NEXT TIME.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. AFTER SOME TIME, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ADVANTAGE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (18311 US-441, MT DORA, FL 32757, (352) 735-3777) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NOT COMPLETED AT THE TIME OF FILING THE COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT CONSUMER STATED I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON I-4 IN ORLANDO GETTING CLOSE TO THE PRINCETON EXIT. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL TO START SLOWING DOWN. THE CAR JUST STARTED ACCERLATING. IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO STOP THE CAR. I MANAGED TO GET IT STOPPED. HAD IT TOWED TO THE CHYSLER DEALERSHIP IN MT DORA,FL. THEY DIAGNOSED IT WITH A RUG 1 FLOOR MAT CATCH UNDER THE GAS PEDAL. UPDATED 10/22/18*JB

THE CONTACT HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE IN ORDER TO STOP THE HORN FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE WITH THE LIGHTS; HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COST SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE DEALER (COURTESY MOTOR SALES INC, 3100 PLEASANT VALLEY BLVD, ALTOONA, PA 16602, (814) 942-9000) OFFERED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN UPFRONT FEE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,000.
MY 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY ENGINE HAS STARTED TO TURN OFF RANDOMLY. IT IS HAPPENING ONCE OR TWICE WEEKLY. SO FAR, IT HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS 45 MPH AND UNDER. THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AS IF IN IGNITION MODE. I CAN PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK AND RESTART WITHOUT TROUBLE. THE 2014 RECALL WAS COMPLETED FOR THE KEY FOB AND IGNITION SWITCH. I ONLY HAVE ONE KEY AND PLASTIC CARDS ON THE FOB. THE MECHANICS CAN FIND NO CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL BECAME STUCK AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DIVIDER AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: 18-16077 WAS FILED. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND SUSTAINED A MILD CONCUSSION, PAIN IN THE RIBS, CONTUSIONS ON BOTH LEGS, AND CHEST PAIN. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE HEART, WHICH BECAME ENLARGED, AS WELL AS CONTUSIONS AND SEVERE BACK PAIN. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED FOR BOTH OCCUPANTS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. BROWN'S JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM IN PATCHOGUE, NEW YORK WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
VEHICLE TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL LIGHTS ARE ON IN DASHBOARD. CANNOT STEER VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS ON. VEHICLE BECOME RESPONSIVE AFTER TURNING BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. THE SECOND TIME HAPPENED ENTERING A MAIN ROAR. BOTH TIMES HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING UNDER 20MPH.
YELLOW TRIANGLE,ABS,SRS ETC COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. SCAN DIAGNOSIS SHOWS THAT C2200 ABS MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE, NEEDS SPECIAL PROGRAMMING. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND THEN GOES OFF AGAIN FOR A FEW MILES AND THEN COMES ON AGAIN. BRAKES ARE WORKING FINE, HAD NEW BRAKES ETC PUT ON REAR EARLIER THIS YEAR. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I AM MOVING. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS.

ALSO, A PINGING SOUND WAS HEARD AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ONCE THE VEHICLE WOULD SIGNAL THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD REVERT BACK TO NORMAL AND THE PINGING SOUND AND WARNING INDICATOR CEASED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE SPECIFICS OF THE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR WERE UNKNOWN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
VALVE STEM TIP CAME OFF WHILE REMOVING THE CAP TO PUT AIR IN TIRE. TIRE KEEP GOING FLAT. CAR WAS PARKED AT THE TIME. ALUMINUM VALVE STEM CORRODED JUST FOUND OUT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE SOME COMPLAINTS SAID THERE'S CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING
TIRE VALES CORRODS/CAUSES WHEEL CORROSION. NEED TO REPLACE ALL TIRE VALVES INCLUDING SENSORIES. ONCE TIRE VALVES CORRODES AIR DEFLATES OUT OF TIRES IMMEDIATLY WHICH CAN CAUSE A DANGER TO ON THE ROAD AND CAN CRASH. THE CORROSION IS CAUSED FROM THE VALVES NOT BEING MADE OF RUBBER. THIS IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. ESPECIALLY LIVING IN CERTAIN WHEATHER CONDITIONS. I WAS FILLING MY TIRES UP WITH AIR BECAUSE SENSOR CAME ON IN CAR SAYING PRESSURE WAS LOW, THE VALVES IN THE REAR BACK OF VEHICLE ONE BROKE OFF AS SOON AS I WENT TO PUT AIR IN AND THE OTHER THE CASSING EXPLODED OFF WHEN AIR WAS BEING PUT IN TIRE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL IS CORRODED DUE TO VALVE CORROSION. THANKFULLY I WENT TO MY MECHANIC IMMEDIATLY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT THAT LIVED DOWN THE ROAD FROM ME. I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN CAR WITH ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER AND RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED ON THESE TIRE VAVLES.
THE AIRBAG MALFUNCTION INDICATOR REMAINS ON ALL THE TIME .
SUDDEN ENGINE SHUTOFF: THE ENGINE HAS STARTED RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF AT LOW SPEED, ABOUT 20 MPH, CAUSING THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES TO BE LOST. THERE ARE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR ALARMS AT ALL THAT COME ON, EXCEPT FOR THE SKID WARRING LIGHT. THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES RECORDED. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED TO BE REPAIRED. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES NOW, TWICE IN ONE DAY, BUT USUALLY DAYS APART.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
THE WHEEL / TIRE AIR VALVE STEMS CORRODES AND BREAKS. THE TIRE LOOSES ALL AIR PRESSURE AND NEEDS REPAIR. IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING, IT COULD BE A VERY SERIOUS AND LIFE THREATENING ISSUE! HELLO, CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE 'TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE' (TIPM) IN MY 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY LX, 3.3L MINIVAN? HOW TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM WITH IT? ARE THERE KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH IT? MY VAN EXHIBITS THE FOLLOWING RANDOM CONDITIONS' 1.) HORN STOPS WORKING AFTER REPEATED USE. IT WILL WORK AGAIN AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME. RECENTLY, I HAVE PUSHED ON THE HORN AND IT WILL BLOW AND THEN CUT OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. THIS HAPPEN WHETHER THE VAN IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. 2.) STARTER WILL ROTATE THE ENGINE BUT ENGINE WILL NOT FIRE. THIS IS VERY INFREQUENT BUT HAS GOTTEN A LITTLE WORSE. ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY START AND RUN FINE. AND THE NEXT TIME IT NEEDS TO START IT WILL WITHOUT ISSUE. ALSO, ONE TIME DURING THE SAME DAY THAT THIS HAPPENED, THE ENGINE STARTED BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY DIED.IT STARTED AND RAN FINE AFTER THAT. VAN WAS ALWAYS STATIONARY. 3.)CENTER MOUNTED REAR BRAKE LIGHT WILL LOOK VERY DIM OR NOT WORK AT ALL ONE DAY, AND THEN WORK THE NEXT. VAN WAS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. 4.)CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE AND THEN IT WILL. THIS WAS HAPPENING ABOUT A YEAR AGO BUT HAS NOT HAPPENED LATELY. VAN WAS IN MOTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND RUNNING IN A PARKING LOT. THE VAN HAD BEEN RUNNING AND IN MOTION FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE PARKING LOT WHERE IT WAS THEN PLACED INTO PARK AND LEFT RUNNING WHILE WAITING FOR MY KIDS TO GET OUT OF SCHOOL. RADIO ON, HEAT ON THEN WITH NO WARNING AT ALL THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, LOST ALL POWER. I WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. IT WOULD NOT GO INTO THE OFF POSITION ALLOWING ME TO REMOVE THE KEY. I TRIED TO TURN THE KEY TO THE VARIOUS POSITIONS TO START THE CAR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. AUTO LOCKS WOULD NOT UNLOCK, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I SAT FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES IN A PANIC TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW CARS I WAS BLOCKING WERE GOING TO GET OUT OF THEIR PARKING SPOTS. THEN THE VAN SUDDENLY STARTED UP ON ITS OWN. MY HANDS WERE NOT ON THE KEYS, NOWHERE NEAR THE IGNITION AND IT JUST STARTED UP. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IN MOTION AND EVEN WORSE TRAVELING AT A HIGH SPEED???? THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE DID RECEIVE THE RECALL FIX FOR THE ISSUE WITH IGNITION A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND NOW I WONDER IF THAT WAS EVEN THE REAL ISSUE SINCE MY VAN RANDOMLY SHUT OFF ON ME FOR NO REASON AT ALL WHATSOEVER. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER OFFICIAL REPORTS BUT A GOOGLE SEARCH PULLS UP MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THIS YEAR WITH VARIOUS YEARS OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AND THE REPORTS ARE RECENT.
FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE OWNING THE CAR I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS, BECAUSE THEY SEIZED UP AND THE REAR BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AT ALL, CAUSING THE FRONT PADS TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY. I FEEL THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT, UNDERSIZED CALIPERS/BRAKES THAT HEAT UP EXCESSIVELY, CAUSING THEM TO SEIZE. I DRIVE ON FLAT NJ HIGHWAYS, SO THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN DRIVING INVOLVED, THAT COULD OVERHEAT THE BRAKES. THE FIRST TIME, EACH SIZED FAILED SEPARATELY AND THIS RESULTS IN A SAFETY HAZARD, AS IF JUST 1 SEIZES, BOTH REAR BRAKES DO NOT WORK. THERE IS NO INDICATION OF THE FAILURE, OTHER THAN IT FEELING FUNNY, WHEN YOU BRAKE. I FIND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON WEBSITES LIKE LEMONLAW.COM
VAN DASH LIGHTS FLICKER WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. VAN WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITH ALL ELECTRICAL DYING. THIS HAPPENS WHEN SITTING AT A LIGHT OR SLOWING TO YIELD TO TRAFFIC REPLACED ALTERNATOR, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. JOSTLING THE BATTERY CABLES WILL RESTART ELECTRIC SYSTEM. NEW BATTERY, CABLES ARE SECURE.
DRIVING ON A STATE ROUTE AT MIDNIGHT, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE JUST BLEW. WE GOT THE CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LONG STORY SHORT, AN "ANGEL" STOPPED AND CHANGED THE TIRE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I WAS DRIVING THE VAN THAT A TIRE BLEW WHILE DRIVING. I WAS VERY LUCKY. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO BUY A NEW TIRE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE SENSOR VALVE ON THE TIRE HAD JUST CRACKED. I UNDERSTAND THAT THOSE HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH RUBBER SO THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN ON THE NEWER CARS. SHOULDN'T THIS BE RECALLED OR SOMETHING BECAUSE NOW I AM AFRAID THAT THE OTHER 2 TIRES MIGHT DO THE SAME. I AM 79 YEARS OLD AND I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER CAR BUT I ALSO CAN'T GO AROUND WORRYING EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. WHAT CAN BE DONE, IF ANYTHING. THANKS FOR LISTENING TO ME AND I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (STATELINE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 800 GOLDHILL ROAD FORT MILL, SC 29716) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CALIBERS AND ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NO OPEN INVESTIGATIONS WERE OPEN FOR THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,300. *JS
THE VAN HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH ITS MAKER- CHRYSLER WHICH IS WITH MOTOR OF THE STOW-N-GO. THE BACK SEAT THE MOTOR DOES NOT WORK ON HALF OF THE SEAT MAKING THE SEAT LOOK "BENT" AND UNABLE TO BE USED.UPON FURTHER RESEARCH IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE MAKER IS AWARE OF AND MANY OF THE MOTORS GO OUT. THIS IS WHY IT'S A VERY HARD PART TO REPLACE COSTING ABOUT 4000 AS IT NEEDS TO BE MADE BRAND NEW.THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED. THE FRUSTRATION IS THAT MOPAR (CHRYSLER) WILL NOT EVEN CONSIDER OFFERING ANY KIND OF ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE AS THE ABOVE MENTIONED WARRANTY EXPIRED. THIS, HOWEVER IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO THEM. THEY ARE KEEPING QUIET ABOUT AS THEY CAN'T CALL IT A RECALL WHEN IT'S NOT CONSIDERED A "SAFETY" CONCERN. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS IF MY CHILD CAN'T SIT IN THE SEAT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE SEAT IS NOT SAFE TO SIT IN. SPOKE TO A SUPERVISOR AT MOPAR WHO DISMISSED ME PROMPTLY. WOULD NOT OFFER TO HELP WITH ANYTHING SINCE "THE VEHICLE HAS 105,000 MILES ON IT" UNSURE WHY THE SAFETY ASPECT OF THIS WOULDN'T BE IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO WANT TO HELP. WILL NOT EVEN ENTERTAIN THE IDEA OF BUYING AN AMERICAN MADE VEHICLE AGAIN. THIRD TIME OWNING A CHRYSLER/DOGE VEHICLE WITH MAJOR ISSUES. THIS IS WHY OUR ECONOMY CAN'T BOUNCE BACK-TOO MUCH DISHONESTY!!

THE WIPERS WOULDN'T SHUT OFF UNTIL THE WIPER MOTOR BURNED UP , THE DRIVERS SEAT WOULDN'T STOP MOVING FORWARD AND BACK , THE WINDOWS WOULDN'T GO DOWN , AC WENT OUT , THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD LIGHT UP AND ALL THE LIGHTS STAYED ON , THE SPEEDOMETER WAS DEAD , THE GAS GAUGE WAS DEAD , THE TURN SIGNALS DIDN'T WORK , THE DVD PLAYERS DIDN'T WORK . WE TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT . IT THEN DID IT AGAIN AND IT WENT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND AGAIN THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING . ON THE WAY HOME ON I-95 IT STARTED AGAIN . WHEN WE GOT HOME WE TOOK IT TO A GARAGE THAT DEALS WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND HE FOUND OUT IT WAS A DVD PLAYER IN THE FRONT THAT WAS MAKING IT GO NUTS . HE DISCONNECTED IT AND ITS OK BUT NOW NOTHING WORKS , LIKE THE 3 DVD PLAYERS, THE HEATED MIRRORS , THE REMOTE START . THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOME ONE GETS KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY .

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW EXPANDED RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

A NEW HARNESS HAD TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

VAN WILL STALE WHEN DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED. DEALER COULD NOT FIND A CODE. THIS HAS HAPPEN THREE TIMES IN THE LAST SIX MONTH.
TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) gives false warnings of tires losing pressure. The flashing Yellow dashboard warning lights and audible alarm sounds and the dash display switches to show the four tire pressures. One by one the pressure of each of the four tires switches to horizontal lines until all four tire pressures are shown as horizontal lines. Meanwhile after many seconds the Warning Light becomes a steady yellow light. This steady yellow light and false flat tire readings continue for many miles (which can be over 50 miles). Sometimes parking and turning off the ignition resets the system. Sometimes restarting the vehicle just has it continue with the false readings. The false readings happen on smooth expressways and other roads as well. Sometimes they happen several times within a week. Other times weeks go by between false readings. The false audible and warning light are safety hazards because they are distracting, especially when it happens in a construction zone. This is a one owner vehicle and has been the subject of numerous complaints to the selling dealer about this issue. The dealer has been unable to repair the defect despite changing the module and tire sensors. Their history confirms failed repair efforts to fix the problem for several years at least back to November 3, 2016 despite being shown videos of the problem while the problem takes place.
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY 2009 TOWN AND COUNTRY WHEN A VEHICLE CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND STRUCK ME HEAD ON. THE IMPACT FROM COLLISION LEFT ME SERIOUSLY INJURED AND I WAS TRANSPORTED BY HELICOPTER TO THE NEAREST TRAUMA CENTER. NEITHER MY FRONT OF SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE COLLISION. I SUFFERED A BROKEN ARM FROM THE SIDE IMPACT AND A DISLOCATED HIP, PELVIC FRACTURE, AND PATELLA INJURIES FROM THE FRONT IMPACT. I AM UNSURE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT MY VEHICLE CONTAINED DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS, BUT TO MY KNOWLEDGE, I HAD NOT RECEIVED A RECALL. I WOULD LIKE ANSWERS REGARDING WHY THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.
WHILE DRIVING USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS (20 MPH OR LESS) THE CAR SHUTS OFF, THE STEERING AND BRAKES LOCK WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
