WHEN CHANGING BRAKE PADS OUT ALL THE TREADS ON THE CV JOINT END FELL OFF IN MY HAND THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND THE METAL IS DISINTEGRATING ALSO THE ENGINE BURNS ALMOST 3 QUARTS BETWEEN EVERY OIL CHANGE .FROM WHAT I SEE ON THE INTERNET ALL OF THE CHRYSLERS 3.8 ENGINES DO THIS .THIS IS NOT RIGHT ! *TR
ON 7/11/14 AT APPROXIMATELY 7:00 PM MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY MINIVAN TO THE STORE. WE WERE UP NORTH NEAR GLADWIN, MI FOR A LONG WEEKEND. WHEN SHE RETURNED SHE REPORTED THE "CAR HAD JUST STOPPED RUNNING". I ASKED HER DID IT STALL OR HAVE AN ENGINE PROBLEM? SHE REPLIED NO IT JUST SHUT OFF AND WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE NEXT DAY, 7/12, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. LUCKILY BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD WITH NO ONE ELSE AROUND. THE FOLLOWING DAY, 7/13, WE NEEDED TO RETURN HOME. I WAS VERY NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE BUT NEEDED TO GET IT HOME. WE DROVE APPROX. 120 MILES, MOSTLY FREEWAY, AND TWICE IT AGAIN SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. VERY SCARY AND LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL ONTO THE FREEWAY SHOULDER BOTH TIMES WITH NO CRASH/INJURIES. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY ARE TELLING ME THE RECALL ISN'T "READY" YET AND I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE. *TR

THE VEHICLE'S FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING. ON OCCASION, THE DOORS WOULD LOCK, WITHOUT ME DEPRESSING THE LOCK BUTTON. AFTER GETTING IN VEHICLE, I ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE DOORS BY PUSHING THE LOCK BUTTON, WHICH DOES NOT WORK, UNLESS I START DRIVING OR PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE FOB.ON OCCASION, THE FOB WILL NOT UNLOCK THE VEHICLE, WOULD HAVE TO MANUALLY TAKE KEY OUT TO UNLOCK (WHICH IS UNSAFE IF YOU NEED TO GET INTO YOUR VEHICLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

THE BRAKES AND BRAKE DISKS OF OUR 09 TOWN & COUNTRY NEED TO BE REPLACED EVERY 10K. THE DEALER KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED A REPLACEMENT ONCE AND THE OTHER TIMES WE HAD TO ARGUE WITH THEM TO GET IT REPLACED FOR FREE (BOTH FRONT AND BACK, BRAKE PADS AND DISKS). WE ARE NOW AT 48K AND REPLACING THE BRAKES FOR THE 4TH TIME. WE HAVE A OTHER CAR (YUKON XL WITH 86K AND IT NEVER HAD ANY DISKS REPLACED). THE PEOPLE AT THE DEALER FEEL BAD FOR US AND SAY THEY SEE THIS A LOT BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT, ONLY TO REPLACE IT FOR FREE ONE MORE TIME. THERE ARE A LOT OF REPORTS ABOUT THIS ON THE WEB, AND THIS REALLY WARRANTS A RECALL ON THE BRAKES AND FIX IT FOR REAL. THE BRAKES OVERHEAD AND THIS WARPS THE DISKS. THIS CAN BECOME VERY DANGEROUS IF NOT REPLACED RIGHT AWAY. *TR

CHRYSLER NOTIFIED ME OF A RECALL (RECALL L25) IN SUMMER OF 2014. THE DEFECT CAUSES MY VEHICLE TO SHUT-OFF, SOMETIMES AT HIGH SPEEDS. IT ALSO CAUSES ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS ON THINGS SUCH AS THE AIR BAGS, RADIO, THE TRIP-TRONIC MANUAL SHIFTING SYSTEM. IT HAS BEEN 9 MONTHS, AND CHRYSLER HAS MAINTAINED THIS ENTIRE TIME THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. I THINK THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR A FACTORY DEFECT TO NOT BE CORRECTED. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY TO DRIVE IN A VEHICLE THAT SUDDENLY TURNS OFF ON THE HIGHWAY, THAT CHANGES FROM AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO A MANUAL SHIFTING VEHICLE BY ITSELF, AND WHOSE AIRBAGS TURN OFF, AND MAY NOT DEPLOY SHOULD AN ACCIDENT OCCUR. *TR

I CAN 'FEEL' A SLIGHT LOSS OF POWER IN THE VEHICLE WHEN STALLING IS PRONE TO HAPPEN, I CAN ALMOST ANTICIPATE IT NOW AND DRIVE TWO-FOOTED TO KEEP IT FROM HAPPENING. I HAVE HAD (3) R03 (WIRELESS IGNITION NODE) MODULE RECALLS AND NO DEALER HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. I HAVE BEEN TO 3 CHRYSLER DEALERS IN THE PAST 2 YEARS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY ALL SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY PARTS AVAILABLE AND NO FIX IS IN SITE. SO, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND HOW DO I GET MY CAR FIXED? I JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL ON THIS SAME PROBLEM.
I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL FROM CHHRYSLER WITH REGARDS TO THE FOBIK IGNITION SYSTEM. THIS IS NOW 3 MONTHS OLD, BUT DESPITE REPEATED ATTEMPTS ON MY PART TO HAVE THIS SERVICED, THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THEY HAVE NO PARTS, AN HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE.

WHILE DRIVING THE IGNITION SWITCH TURNED TO ACCESSORY STOPPING THE ENGINE. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, STOPPED AND RESTARTED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN A MONTH LATER ON THE FREEWAY. TRIED TO RESTART ENGINE WHILE DRIVING - DID NOT RESTART UNTIL I MOVED SHIFT LEVER TO NEUTRAL. ON 7/8/14 I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID "I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO DO IT". I CONTACTED CHRYSLER TWICE THAT DAY ([XXX] AND ANOTHER) BUT THEY REFUSED TO PAY BECAUSE NOT RECALLED YET! I PAID $588.89 FOR REPAIR OUT OF POCKET RATHER THAN CHANCE A FAILURE ON WINDING MOUNTAIN ROADS. TWO ADDITIONAL POINTS: 1. FOR SIX MONTHS THE KEY WOULD SPRING BACK TO ACCESSORY WHEN STARTING. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO PAY FOR 2009 TOWN & COUNTRY IGNITION SWITCH REPAIR: SINCE THE SUMMER OF 2013 THE KEY WOULD OCCASIONALLY SPRING BACK TO ACCESSORY WHEN STARTING THE CAR. IN THE SPRING OF 2014 THERE WERE TWO OCCASIONS WHEN THE SWITCH TURNED TO ACCESSORY - STALLING THE ENGINE - WHILE DRIVING. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ([XXX]) ON 7/18/14 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT AMONG THOSE RECALLED - BUT IF I HAD IT REPAIRED CHRYSLER WOULD REIMBURSE ME IF/WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED. AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE AND FILING THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION [XXX] (FROM CHRYSLER) FOR SOME UNINTELLIGIBLE REASON COULD NOT REIMBURSEMENT AT THIS TIME. ON 7/30/14 [XXX] SAID THAT CHRYSLER COULD NOT PAY FOR PREVIOUS REPAIRS UNTIL PARTS (DETENT RINGS?) AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. ON 10/10/14 [XXX] ([XXX]) SAID THAT I WILL RECEIVE A SECOND LETTER WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND REIMBURSEMENTS DECISIONS WILL BE DECIDED THEN. THE VEHICLE DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES WILL ALL FLASH AND START BEEPING WHILE THE WIPERS CONTINUOUSLY GO ON AND OFF WITH NO CONTROL. THIS ONLY HAPPENED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND EITHER THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN BUT RECENTLY STARTED DOING THIS WHILE DRIVING. WE TOOK THE VAN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 6/27 FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL AND NOW THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE TROUBLESHOOTING DUE TO TIME RESTRICTIONS. I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND SOME SAYING THEIR VEHICLE WILL EVEN SHUT OFF FROM TIME TO TIME WHILE DRIVING AND I AM WONDERING WHY IS THIS NOT BEING RECALLED?
THE CAR WILL NOT START. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER 2 TIMES FROM 2014 TO APRIL 2015. ONCE THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND CABLES. IT WAS FINE FOR 6 MONTHS. THE SECOND TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO SPEND $1800 TO REPLACE THE WIN MODULE & THE 2 KEY FOBS. I REFUSED. I THEN WENT TO THE CAR & IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. 4 WEEKS LATER THE CAR WILL NOT START AGAIN. I HAVE ONLY THE KEY FOB-NO RING WITH OTHER KEYS ETC. I HAVE A VAN THAT DOES NOT WORK, IS UNRELIABLE AND NOW WILL NOT START AT ALL. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET TO WORK? BY TOW TRUCK?
