WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE (AT AROUND 80K MILES) WE NOTICED THAT YOU COULD SMELL COOLANT AT TIMES, BUT WERE TOLD IT WAS NOTHING. WHEN WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. I ASKED THE SHOP THAT DID THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, THINKING MAYBE THEY DIDN'T DO A PROPER JOB- HE MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR OF TOWN & COUNTRY. I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL- A GOOD FRIEND WANTED TO PERFORM AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. COME TO FIND OUT, IT WAS BURNING OIL AT A RAPID RATE. IF I HADN'T BEEN AWARE & CHECKING THE OIL ON ALMOST A DAILY BASIS, IT COULD HAVE RUN OUT & THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE BURNING OIL CAUSES ISSUES WITH THE RINGS AS WELL.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND CAR RIGHT FRONT BRAKE ACTIVATED THE CAR WENT IMMEDIATELY INTO THE LEFT LANE LUCKY NO CAR WAS COMING ABS LIGHT AND ESP LIGHT CAME ON. CAR WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BRAKE SYSTEM JUST ACTIVATED WITH OUT NOTICE AT ANY SPEED. TOOK TO DEALER THEY SAID CLOCK SPRING IN STEERING WHEEL WAS DEFECTIVE PART NUMBER 56046241AG. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS PART. LOOKS LIKE IT IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM WHILE RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM. AT HIGH HIGHWAY SPEED COULD LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE.

MY TPMS SYSTEM PERIODICALLY GIVES ME FALSE INFO RE:MY TIRES. THIS LAST TIME THE WHEEL MONITOR ITSELF WAS LEAKING. THIS, AFTER I HAD REPLACED ALL 4 LAST WINTER. WHAT LIFE SPAN DO THESE DEVICES HAVE?

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSOR RETAINING NUT WAS SPLIT AND FAILED DUE TO EROSION, WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. AS A RESULT, THE TIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,052. UPDATED 04/22/16*LJ *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE IGNITION SWITCH FRACTURED AND WAS ABLE TO ROTATE INTERMITTENTLY WITH THE KEY. ALL OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE KEY FOB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, WHILE THE VAN WAS IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED, IT ROLLED SEVERAL FEET. ONE OF THE TIMES IT WAS ON COMPLETELY FLAT GROUND. I AM VERY AFRAID THAT WHILE PARKED IT WILL ROLL AND INJURE OR KILL SOMEONE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I READ THROUGH THE RECALLS AND SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2015 CHRYSLER 200 FOR THIS ALREADY. I HAVE A VIDEO OF IT, BUT CAN'T SEEM TO UPLOAD IT TO THIS SITE. IF YOU COULD SEND ME AN EMAIL AT [XXX] I COULD SEND THE VIDEO BACK THAT WAY. THE ISSUE ONLY OCCURS WHEN TRAVELING AT A SPEED IN WHICH THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED INTO OVERDRIVE THAT I HAVE NOTICED. ONCE THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED INTO OVERDRIVE AND DECELERATION BEGINS AND THE VEHICLE IS COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP UPON EXITING THE HIGHWAY/FREEWAY/EXPRESSWAY IS WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS (RPM'S) DIP DOWN TO 500 AND JUMP TO 1500 MULTIPLE TIMES., LUNGES FORWARD AND WILL STALL. AT THIS POINT IT WILL TAKE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. ONE REMEDY I HAVE FOUND WHEN IT BEGINS TO START THE SYMPTOMS IS TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND WAIT A COUPLE SECONDS AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS DOESN'T CORRECT THE ROUGH IDOL AND MINOR LUNGING FORWARD, BUT IT DOES STOP THE VEHICLE FROM STALLING IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALER WITH THEM ONLY TAKING IT ON A MINOR ROAD TEST EVEN AFTER EXPLAINING THEY ISSUE. THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG.

ON SEPTEMBER 28TH 2015, WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE INTO GREEN CHEVROLET IN EAST MOLINE, ILLINOIS TO HAVE THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE ON A VEHICLE REPLACED FOR A SAFETY RECALL. AT 8:49 A.M. THEY HAD CALLED US TO LET US KNOW THEY HAD DONE THE OIL CHANGE AND TO LET US KNOW OF A FEW REPAIRS THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE THAT WERE NOT RELEVANT TO THE RECALL AND ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE RECALL REPAIR. AT 9:34 A.M. THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THEY WERE GETTING READY TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR BUT WANTED TO LET ME KNOW OF CRACKS THAT WERE IN THE DASHBOARD THAT THEY NEEDED TO REMOVE TO DO PART OF THE REPAIR. THEY SENT ME PICTURES TO SHOW THAT THEY WERE IDENTICAL CRACKS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE THAT WENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH ON THE CORNERS PLUS AN ADDITIONAL CRACK ABOUT ONE-FIFTH OF THE WAY OVER FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT WENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. THEY CLAIM THESE CRACKS WERE THERE PRIOR TO THE REPAIR BUT WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE CRACKS BEFORE AND CLAIM THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN DONE DURING THE REPAIR. WE DUST OUR DASH BOARD AND WOULD HAVE SEEN SUCH EXTENSIVE CRACKS. THEY ARE LOCATED WHERE THE DEFROST VENTS ARE. GREEN CHEVROLET REFUSES TO REPLACE IT AND HOLDS TO THAT THEY WERE ALREADY THERE. DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE CRACKS, THERE IS NO WAY FOR US TO CAUSE IT. IT APPEARS AS IF THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN CAUS D BY SOMEONE PRYING UP THE DASHBOARD INCORRECTLY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF ANTI-FREEZE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE HAD NOT EXHIBITED ANY FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS AWAITING TO BE DETERMINED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,094.

RECALL R03 / NHTSA 14V-373, I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE JUNE 2015 TO GET MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER, AT PROSPERITY DR, SILVER SPRING, MD 20904, TO DO THIS RECALL. ON JUNE 22, 2015, THE VAN WAS AT THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL WORK BUT WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP, THEY SAID THE PARTS NEVER CAME IN. THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER AGAIN AND CONTACT ME. NO ONE DID. I CALLED AGAIN TODAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2015 AND REQUESTED THE RECALL WORK. THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS. THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN NOT GET THE PARTS BECAUSE YOU HAVE RESTRICTED SENDING THE PARTS TO THE DEALERS FOR SERVICE. I WAS TOLD TO CALL AGAIN IN 2 OR 3 WEEKS. PLEASE HELP!!!
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 2009 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY IT HAS A 3.8 L V6 ENGINE AND A 6-SPEED AUTOMATIC. JUST RECENTLY IT JUST STOP AS I WAS DRIVING. I HAD JUST WENT THRU A GREEN LIGHT AND JUST AS I GOT UP TO ABOUT 30MPH THE ENGINE JUST STOP THE ONLY LIGHT THAT CAME ON WAS THE (ESC) LIGHT GOES ON, AND THEN POWER STEERING FAILS BREAKS DO NOT RESPOND. THE DEALER CHECKED IT THE NEXT DAY THERE WERE NO CODS SET. EXCEPT A REAR AC MIX DOOR HAD A PROBLEM AND A ABS CODE. BACK IN MAY I HAD A PROBLEM STARTING IT ACTED AS IF I HAD A DEAD BATTER, THE BATTER AND STARTER TESTED OKAY THEN IN JUNE THERE WAS A R03 SAFETY RECALL FOR THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE WHICH WAS REPLACED. THERE ARE ABOUT 37,000 MILES ON THE CAR.

AFTER STARTING THE CAR IN A CAR PARK AND DRIVING A 100 FEET, THE TRANSMISSION DISPLAY SHOWED THAT INSTEAD OF BEING IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WAS IN GEAR 3. THE DASHBOARD MOUNTED SHIFT CONTROL DOES NOT EASILY MOVE FROM DRIVE TO LOCK INTO GEAR 6 LET ALONE GETTING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 3.

DASH BOARD AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. ALSO, SCREEN LIGHTS ON NAVIGATION DIMMED TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS UNREADABLE. WHEN I TURNED SWITCH TO LIGHTS ON INSTEAD OF AUTOMATIC THE NAVIGATION SCREEN LIT BACK UP BUT RETURNED TO DIM WHEN PUT BACK ON AUTOMATIC. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE ON THE HIGHWAY!
I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW WHICH MORE RECENTLY HAS BEEN ISSUED A RECALL R03 RELATING TO THE FOBIC. I HAVE NOW HAD 5 INSTANCES WHERE MY VEHICLE HAS STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS TOLD OF THE RECALL BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL MORE RECENTLY. I CALLED AND WAS PUT ON A LIST 2 MONTHS AGO TO GET THIS FIXED. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND IT HAS NOW BEEN TWO MONTHS. WHEN I CALLED TODAY THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY ONLY GET ABOUT 3 PARTS EVERY SO OFTEN AND I WAS STILL NUMBER 23 ON THE LIST. I AM VERY UPSET BY THIS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED IN A TIMELY FASHION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO NOT BE IN AN ACCIDENT. I NEED THIS TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. I WAS HOPING YOU COULD HELP BY PUTTING IN MY COMPLAINT.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE ON THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE ON MY VEHICLE WHICH SAID I SHOULD CONTACT MY DEALER "RIGHT AWAY" TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. I HAD ASKED ABOUT THIS THE LAST TIME I WAS THERE ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK YET. LAST NIGHT, MY ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET, WHICH I ASSUME WAS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. THANKFULLY I WASN'T GOING VERY FAST, BUT IT DEFINITELY SCARED ME AND COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY, GOING AT A FASTER SPEED OR HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE CLOSE BEHIND ME. I JUST CALLED MY DEALER TO GET AN APPOINTMENT ASAP TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PART AND WON'T UNTIL PROBABLY MID-SEPTEMBER. I THINK IT'S UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE TO WAIT THAT LONG TO FIX A SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN I'VE EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE REPEATEDLY SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. INSTRUMENT PANEL AND RADIO WILL SUDDENLY GO IRRATIC AND THE CAR WILL POWER COMPLETELY DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. IGNITION RECALL WAS PERFORMED SEVERAL TIMES WITHIN A FEW MONTHS. DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THEY CAN NEVER DUPLICATE PROBLEM WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION. IGNITION STILL OVER CRANKS OR STARTS WHEN IT WANTS. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY DEALERSHIP IS UNAWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE COME CLOSE SEVERAL TIMES OF BEING REAR ENDED. THIS PROBLEM IS SEVERELY DANGEROUS. *JS
