VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. PRIOR TO THIS IT HAS BEEN TURNING OFF BY ITSELF WHEN STARTING IT IN THE DRIVEWAY TO WARM UP. THIS ALL STARTED ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. THIS IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN ALSO. LOOKING AT THE RECALL IT IS ONLY FOR THE CANADA VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD'NT BE THE CASE IF THERE IS THE SAME VEHICLE DOING THE SAME THING AND FALLS INTO THE CRITERIA OF THE RECALL. *TR

TRAVELING EAST BOUND ON I-24 ABOUT 20 MILES WEST OF CHATTANOOGA WHILE IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA I REAR ENDED A CAR THAT HAD STOPPED FOR A LINE OF CARS IN FRONT OF HIM. THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS BADLY DAMAGES WITH THE FRAME SHOWING ON THE LEFT HAND CORNER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT FUNCTION. MY WIFE HIT THE SEAT BELT CRACKING HER STERNUM. THE CAR APPEARED TOTALED ALTHOUGH THEIR WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR. THE MINIVAN ENDED UP BEING REPAIRED. CONTACTING OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER THEIR THOUGHT WAS THAT THE SENSOR WAS NOT IN THE RIGHT PLACE TO EMPLOY THE AIRBAGS. THERE IS NO WAY TO VERIFY MY SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION AS I WAS BRAKING AT THE TIME. *TR
THIS CAR SHUTS DOWN OF BEING DRIVEN ABOUT TWO HOURS. IT SHUTS DOWN AT THE END OF A TRIP AS I COME INTO TOWN AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TEST DROVE THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY CANNOT FIND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT IS NOW APPARENT THIS IS A MUCH LARGER PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE AXLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V055000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,727.
MY VAN HAS SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WITH NO WARNING APPROXIMATELY 2-5 TIMES A MONTH SINCE DECEMBER 2013. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THERE IS NO WARNING I LOSE STEERING BUT THE POWER LIKE THE RADIO STAYS ON. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED 4/3/2013 I ALSO LOST MY BRAEKS. THEY SAY SINCE THEY CANT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ITS NOT THEIR CONCERN. THEY HAVE REPLACED MY WIN MODULE TWICE AS WELL AS MY KEYS. *TR
THIS MINIVAN TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHEN IT FIRST HAPPENED TO ME I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND BEGAN TO GO. IT HAPPENED TO MY BOYFRIEND WHILE HE WAS GETTING ON THE FREEWAY. COMPANY CHANGED THE BRAKES AND THEY NEED TO BE CHANGED AGAIN ONLY SIX MONTHS LATER. WE ALREADY TOOK IN ONCE TO GET PROBLEM FIXED. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND GAVE IT BACK. PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN AND NOW STARTED OVERHEATING SO WE TOOK IT BACK. *JS
THE HEAD LIGHTS GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY OR WON'T COME ON AT ALL. THE TURN SIGNALS WILL NOT WORK AS WELL AS THE HORN. SOMETIMES EVERYTHING WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS THE HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT MANY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED. THE ISSUE IS BELIEVED TO BE THE TIPM. *TR
NOTICED AN UNUSUAL SOUND COMING FROM LR. EXITED VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY SMELLED BURNING BRAKE PADS. LR WHEEL TOO HOT TO TOUCH. DROVE VEHICLE REMAINING 1/2 MILE HOME. AFTER ONLY FIVE MINUTES OF INTERNET RESEARCH I HAD LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE,MOSTLY 2008 TO 2012 MODELS. MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 38000 MILES ON IT AND MORE THAN 50% OF THOSE ARE HIGHWAY MILES. SEEMS LIKE THE SHEER VOLUME OF COMPLAINTS WOULD WARRANT A RECALL OR AT THE VERY LEAST A NHTSA INVESTIGATION. I WILL CERTAINLY TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM CHRYSLER PRODUCTS ALTOGETHER. *TR
MULTIPLE STALLING WHEN THE CAR IS RECENTLY FILLED WITH GAS OR WHEN THE CAR IS COLD AND DURING THE FIRST 5-10 MILES ON THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY NEVER AT FAST SPEEDS. RECENTLY HAD EGR VALVE REPLACED AND NO NEW EPISODES. THIS DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE COMPUTER CHECKS OF ENGINE UNTIL JUST RECENTLY DESPITE MULTIPLE STALLS. NOT SURE WHETHER THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED YET SINCE IT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT. NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE STALLING. IF THIS VALVE IS THE CAUSE OF THE STALLS THEN MAYBE RECALL IS INDICATED. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL REPAIRED IN 2011. VERY FRIGHTENING AND VERY DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING AND HAVE YOUR CAR STALL WITHOUT WARNING. *TR

THE HEADLIGHTS DIM, THE RADIO STOPS, THE FOUR LIGHTS DIRECTLY OVER THE SPEEDOMETER COME ON AND OFF, THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO ZERO WHEN THE DUMMY LIGHTS COME ON. PERIODICALLY THE VEHICLE SHUTS OF AS IT IS MOVING. THIS ALL STARTED HAPPENING AFTER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN #11V139000 RECALL ON THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED. IT HAS BEEN TO THREE SEPARATE CHRYSLER DEALERS A TOTAL OF SEVEN TIMES. IT HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS. NEITHER CHRYSLER NOR THE DEALER WANTS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THEY WANT TO SELL ME A NEW CAR! *TR
WE BOUGHT OUR TOWN AND COUNTRY AND HAVE DROVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NO. THE ENGINE HAS USED A QUART OF OIL EVERY THOUSAND MILES. THE CHRYSLER MECHANIC IN CHANUTE, KS, SAID IT WAS LIKE A BRIGGS AND STRIATION OR SMALL ENGINE, IT SHOULD USE THAT MUCH OIL. I THINK THERE CRAZY. IF THIS ENGINE GOES OUT IN TRAFFIC MY FAMILY IS IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A PASSENGER IN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LIP AND RIGHT SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS WAS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. I HAD A STOP, AND GET A HOTEL I COULD NOT CONTINUE MY JOURNEY. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. IT WAS A TIPM FAILURE. $885 TO FIX IT. I FOUND THIS IS ACTUALLY A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS PART SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED AT THE MANUFACTURERS EXPENSE. *TR
DRIVING MY TOWN AND COUNTRY CHRYSLER MINIVAN THE ENGINE SHUTOFF ON A CHICAGO INTERSTATE. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY MULTIPLE CARS BEHIND ME AS I COULD NOT ACCELERATE SINCE THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. IT SEEMED TO START WHEN CAR IS COLD THAT WHEN YOU STARTED TO PULL OUT EITHER FORWARD OR REVERSE YOU COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO LEFT IT SEEMED TO BE STUCK THEN WITH A LITTLE FORCE AND WHEN STARTING TO ROLL IT WOULD START TO MOVE. IT WOULD DO IT IN COLD WEATHER AND EVERY NOW AND THEN WHEN SLOWING DOWN MAKING LEFT TURN AND I CHECKED POWER STEERING FLUID WAS GOOD BUT NOW IT SEEMS TO STILL BE DOING THE SAME THING AND ONLY WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL LEFT STILL HAPPENS IN THE MORNING AND IT DID START MAYBE BACK IN OCT. *TR
WHEN I DOWNSHIFT FROM DRIVE AT ANY SPEED, IT WILL NOT UPSHIFT WITHOUT MOVING INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN INTO DRIVE. THIS MOVE IS DISTRACTING AND POSSIBLY DANGEROUS. THE DEALER IN WATSONVILLE CLAIMS THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 100K WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS NOT PART OF THE DRIVE TRAIN. THEY SAY THAT THE SHIFTER HAS TO BE REPLACE TO THE TUNE OF $600. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEM DUE TO SOME OTHER REAPAIRS THAT WERE NOT HANDLED IN A PLEASING MANNER. *TR
DRIVING ON SMOOTH ROAD AND VEHICLE STALLED. BRAKES HARD TO DEPRESS AND STEERING HARD. HAD TO PULL OUT OF TRAFFIC AND RESTART. *TR
THE HEAD LIGHTS NO LONGER WORK, THE CAR CUTS OFF AT RANDOM, RADIO WINDOWS ARE POSSESSED. THIS HAS ALL BE ATTRIBUTED TO A FAULTY TIPM.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE LIKES STARTED FLASHING AND THEN WENT OUT. THE PARKING LIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS WERE THE ONLY LIGHTS THAT WORKED. NEXT MORNING THE LIGHTS WORKED. A FEW DAYS LATER SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I SENT A LETTER TO CHRYSLER AND THEY WANTED ME TO TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP TO GET LOOKED AT. IT TOOK ME A COUPLE WEEKS TO GET IT THERE CAUSE MY OTHER CAR WAS IN THE SHOP. I HAD DAYS THAT THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON AND DAYS THAT THEY WORKED. AFTER TAKING IT TO DEALER THEY SIMPLY TIGHTENED THE BATTERY CABLES AND CHARGED ME FOR IT. LESS THEN A WEEK LATER IT IS ACTING UP AGAIN. LIGHTS WILL EITHER WORK, FLASH ON AND OFF, OR NOT COME ON AT ALL. I WROTE ANOTHER LETTER TO THEM AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IT IN ON FRIDAY BUT AM CONSIDERING JUST CUTTING MY LOSSES AND TRADING IT IN BECAUSE I CARRY KIDS IN MY VAN AND THIS IS NOT A SAFE VAN. *TR

ANOTHER TIME I WAS PULLING OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY 2010 TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN DIED! CARS IN TWO LANES WERE BLARING THEIR HORNS AND HAD TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD TO KEEP FROM HITTING ME! I TOOK IT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE IT STAYED FOR 13 DAYS. THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM BUT REPLACED THE COMPUTER(PCM). LESS THAN 48 HOURS LATER IT HAD HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES! I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT REMAINS NOW. CHRYSLER HAS GIVEN ME A CASE NUMBER AND I AM HOPING FOR ANSWERS SOON. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO RENT ME A CAR THUS FAR. I CANNOT SEEM TO GET CHRYSLER TO UNDERSTAND (OR CARE) HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS. I DON'T WANT TO DIE JUST SO MY HUSBAND CAN SUE THEM! HELP *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT 45 MPH AND BRAKING FOR A STOP LIGHT, VEHICLE STEERING SHAKES LEFT TO RIGHT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THE FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED. SERVICE WAS DONE. THE SYMPTOM WENT AWAY FOR 2-3 MONTHS, TODAY IS 6/25/14 AND I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS 52000 MILES NOW. I NEED A FIX ON THIS. *TR

ALL INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS WITH NO ROUGH TERRAIN OR JOSTLING OF THE KEYS. CAR LOSES POWER STEERING AND BRAKING, WOULD BE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS AT HIGHER SPEEDS. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON THE DASH. I CAN COAST TO A STOP, PUT THE VAN IN PARK AND TURN THE IGNITION TO START AND THE VAN WILL START AGAIN. I CAN THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND EVERYTHING IS FINE UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AT A RANDOM TIME. IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS YEAR VEHICLE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VAN IS NOT COVERED BY EITHER OF THESE TWO RECALLS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE WIN MODULE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH, MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE COMPLETELY WENT FLAT IN ABOUT 3 SECONDS. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. I WENT ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD . I JUST MISSED THE GUIDE RAIL. UPON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE , I FOUND THE STEM HAD CRACKED JUST BELOW THE PLASTIC CAP. I WAS ON A VERY BUSY ROAD. IF IT HAD BEEN MY LEFT FRONT TIRE, I FEEL THAT I WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THESE TIRE SAFETY VALVE STEMS ARE UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED.
ABOUT A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE THE AUTOMATIC DOORS INTERMITTENTLY STOP WORKING AND REAR INSIDE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON. THIS DIDN'T EFFECT OPERATION OR SAFETY OF VEHICLE SO I DIDN'T COMPLAIN TO DEALER. ELECTRICAL ISSUES CONTINUED IN MARCH 2014 AND PULLED CAR OVER EMERGENTLY INTO STS AUTO CENTER. THEY COULDN'T FIND SOURCE OF ELECTRICAL DRAIN HOWEVER PROBLEM AGAIN APPEARED TO RESOLVE ITSELF. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALERSHIP REPEATEDLY SINCE THEN. ALL GAUGES FAIL WHILE WINDSHIELD WIPERS REMAIN ON. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, THEN A DEFECTIVE DOME LIGHT, THEN CLAIMED THE BATTERY WAS BAD AND REPLACED THAT AGAIN, THEN IT WAS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AGAIN. NOW I'M SUPPOSED TO TRUST THIS CAR IS GOING TO BE RELIABLE AND I'M BEING TOLD BE CHRYSLER THAT THERE IS NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO OR FEEL OBLIGATED TO DO. REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS COMPLETELY WENT METAL ON METAL PAID 375.00 FOR REPLACEMENT. THE BRAKES WERE ON A LEASE WITH ONLY 27K MILES ON THEM. THE FRONT BRAKES ALSO HAVE GONE BUT THERE WAS A RECALL WE JUST NEVER WERE NOTIFIED SO NOW WE ARE RESPONSIBLE. *JS

I HAVE SEEN THE SAME THING ON THIS SITE MANY TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP REPORTS THAT THIS IS "SIMILAR" BUT NOT THE "SAME." IF IT LOOKS LIKE A DUCK AND QUACKS LIKE A DUCK, IT IS A DUCK. 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING VEHICLE AND MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST 6 MONTHS THE VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. ON ONE INSTANCE MY WIFE WAS TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND MY WIFE NEARLY ROLLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ON ANOTHER INSTANCE THE VEHICLE STALLED ON ME TRAVELING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND START IT AGAIN, WHEN I DID THIS IT SEEMED LIKE THE CAR HAD TO TURN OVER FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT WOULD START UP. WE HAVE 3 CHILDREN AND THIS IS A VERY DISTURBING ISSUE AS IT RELATES TO SAFETY. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHRYSLERS INTERNAL ISSUE TRACKING ON THESE ITEMS DURING LAUNCH OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE A RELATIVE A FEW YEARS BACK WHO HAD A VERY SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE CHRYSLER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HE OWNED.
