IN STARTING VAN, ENGINE WAS TURNING OVER WHEN KEY TURNED BUT NOT TO THE POINT OF RUNNING. AFTER 5-8 ATTEMPTS IT WOULD CRANK AND ALSO SPUTTERED IN BETWEEN ATTEMPTS. CAR WAS STATIONARY. THIS WAS A SUDDEN ONSET OF SYMPTOMS THAT HAPPENED ON VACATION. RECOGNIING WE HAD ADDITIONAL DAYS ON OUR TRIP PLUS THE RIDE HOME, I TOOK TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. IN ROUTE, IT SPUTTERED LIKE IT WANTED TO QUIT. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS FUEL PUMP AND FUEL PUMP RELAY FAILED PRESSURE TEST AND DIAGNOSIS. I THEN LEARN BY SEARCHING THAT 2011 VANS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SAME ISSUES. WITH A RETURN HOME INTERSTATE TRIP OF 600 MILES, I THANKFUL I HAD REPAIRED NOW READING WHAT HAS HAPPENED WITH THE 2011 RELATED ACCIDENTS AND PROBLEMS.
IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. WON'T START HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING TO KEY TO TURN THE ENGINE OVER HAVE TO WIGGLE AND PRESS HARD TO START . TAKES A LONG TIME TO FIDDLE WITH IN ORDER TO START .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE SOLENOID AND PISTONS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF INDETERMINATELY. WILL HAVE TO PUT IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE.
IT TURNS OFF WHEN I'M ON THE ROAD
WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND WHEN I HAD STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I HAD NOT TOUCHED ANY BUTTON OR ANYTHING ELSE. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE SOMEONE WAS DRIVING IT WOULD BE A VERY BIG ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING EVEN A SLOW OR FAST SPEEDS IT HAPPENS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS NO WARNING THE CAR WILL STALL.. I LOST POWER STEERING THAT IS HOW I KNOW THE CAR HAD STALLED. THEN ANOTHER TIME I DID NOT GO ANY WHERE WHEN I HIT THE GAS AGAIN THE THAT IS HOW I KNEW THE CAR STALLED. IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING FOR THE CAR TO BE DOING I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC ON MANY OCCASION CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG
MY VAN NEEDS A NEW TIPM. THIS IS A RECALL FOR SOME CHRYSLER VEHICLES UNDER P54/NHTSA 14V-530. WHY DOES THIS NOT INCLUDE ALL CHRYSLER VEHICLES? THE VAN STARTS INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES WITHOUT ISSUE OTHER TIMES TAKES MINUTES AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS.
WHEN WE ARE DRIVING ON STREETS, THE POWER SHUTS OFF. I CAN BARELY PULL OVER SINCE THE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF. THERE IS NO LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. CAR MUST BE SHUT OFF AND TURNED BACK ON TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN UNDER 2 AND I AM SO WORRIED ABOUT GETTING REAR ENDED. LUCKILY IT'S NEVER HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY. THE DEALERSHIP BASICALLY SAID IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. MECHANICS CANT FIGURE OUT WHY IT SHUTS OFF . IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE WHEN WE BOUGHT IT IN THE FALL. NOW THAT ITS WARM IT HAPPENS A LOT
2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AMS COUNTRY REAR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM NOT WORKING
THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY FAILS TO START WHEN KEY FOB IS INSERTED IN IGNITION AND TURNED. IT ALSO OFTEN FAILS TO ALLOW US TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF OR REMOVE THE KEY. THIS HAPPENS YEAR ROUND AND AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS. WE HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN LOCATIONS, UNABLE TO START OUR VEHICLE DUE TO THIS. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURS, AND IT TYPICALLY OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY AFTER BEING USED. FOR EXAMPLE, I WILL DRIVE TO THE STORE AND WHEN I COME BACK OUT, MY VEHICLE WILL BE ABLE TO START. *TR
I WILL BE DRIVING THE VAN AND IT WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF IT ONLY DOSE IT AT LOW SPEEDS AT LIKE 20 -40 BUT I LOSE POWER STEERING EVERYTHING UNTIL I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND START IT AGAIN. *TR
THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD THEY CALL THE TIPM HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP FUSE GOING BAD THAT THE VEHICLES COMPUTER DOES NOT REGISTER THE CAR FAX SHOWS THAT IT WAS LOOKED AT IN CA. IN OCT.2019 FOR HARD TO START BUT NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND IBOUGHT IT ON MARCH 8 2020 IT RAN GREAT UNTIL THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT ALONG WITH THE FUSE BOX THEY SAID THEY DONNOT HAVE ANOTHER ONE THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT REBUILT A NEW FUEL PUMP IN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10-25 MPH, A SQUISHING SOUND WAS HEARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TRUCK FARM OF EASLEY (296 CALHOUN MEMORIAL HWY, EASLEY, SC 29640, (864) 220-1811) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY TERMINAL WAS LOOSENED, THE BRAKE VALVE AND BRAKE BOOSTER WIRE WERE EATEN BY RODENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
THE VAN IS CUTTING OFF WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, WE HAVE DETECTED THAT IT IS POSSIBLY THE KEY FOB. I CAN PLAY WITH THE FOB AND IT DOES KILL THE ENGINE. I UNDERSTAND THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH OTHER CHRY., PRODUCTS, AND COULD BE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH THE VAN SHUTS DOWN. NO POWER WHATSOEVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US 3 TIMES WHILE TRAVELING THIS SPEED ON A BUSY ROAD. I TRAVEL WITH TWO HANDICAPPED SONS IN WHEELCHAIRS AND THIS HAS BEEN A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE ALL 3 TIMES. NOBODY CAN TELL US WHAT IS WRONG AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN TO LOOK. NOW MY BOYS ARE CONFINED AT HOME WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ME TO DRIVE THEM. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED FOR A WHILE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO STALLINGS MOTORS (1245-38TH BOULEVARD, N.E., CAIRO, GA 39828, (229) 516-4891) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
I HAVE AN ADDITIONAL COMPLAINT: 11286310. TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS SYSTEM DEACTIVATED WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN. ENGINE CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, SPEEDOMETER DASH CLUSTER STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING, WITH CHILDREN IN VEHICLE (MINIVAN). U110A DTC. NETWORK, MFG, FUEL AND AIR METERING FAULT. DRIVING SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HATFIELD USED CAR CENTER (1333 AUTOMALL DR, COLUMBUS, OH 43228; 614-922-1333) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE RECEIVED UNKNOWN REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN THE ENGINE AND THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES WITH THE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR FELL OFF FROM THE TOP TRACK WHEN OPENED WITH BUTTON. THE DOOR WAS HANGING. CAR WAS STATIONARY ON A NYC STREET
THE CAR STOPS AND WONT TURN BACK ON. I WAS TOLD THE TIPM IS BAD CAUSING IT TO SHUT OFF ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE DRIVING WHEN IT SHUT OFF AND LOST ALL CONTROL. IT WAS AS IF WE HAD NEVER STARTED THE CAR.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 30 TO 25 DEGREES OUTSIDE THE VAN WILL NOT START. I JUST CHANGED THE BATTERY & I TRIED TO START IT AND THE VAN WILL NOT START AND IT'S SAYING THAT IT'S 21 ON THE CAR DASHBOARD

THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING AGAIN. THIS WAS REPAIRED ON MAY 12, 2017 FOR A COST OF $1409.84 AND HAS FAILED AGAIN. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT TO NHTSA. I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY FEEDBACK FROM MY FIRST COMPLAINT. A TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THE CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED IN THE WHEEL WELL AND IS EXPOSED TO MOISTURE AND DIRT WHICH CAUSES THE FAILURES. HE TOLD US THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS THAT THEY HAVE A DESIGN PROBLEM BUT DID NOT DESIGN A PERMANENT FIX. I DO NOT THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR (AGAIN). IN THE VAN, VISIBILITY IS LIMITED AND THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM IS NEEDED FOR SAFETY AND CRASH AVOIDANCE. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS NOW ANYTIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN.
2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY COMPLAINT 2/2 VEHICLE WOULD HAVING A HUMMING AND WHIRRING SOUND COMING FROM IT THAT WOULD CEASE ONLY WHEN THE BATTERY IS DEAD OR TERMINAL REMOVED. THE LIGHTS WOULD KILL THE BATTERY DESPITE BEING LEFT IN OFF POSITION. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY WAS TAKEN TO THE STORE FOR THE CHANGE OF A TIPM DUE TO SMELLING A VERY HOT BURNING SCENT AND THEN IN STOP WHIRRING SOUND ALONG WITH DISPLAY IS HOT IN RED ON SCREEN. THE ACTUAL SCREEN AND MIDDLE CONTROL PANEL TO HOT TO TOUCH. THE VEHICLE TIRE SYSTEM SIGNAL WOULD OCCUR RECURRENTLY AND IT WOULD CAUSE ONE TO HAVE CONTINUOUSLY CHECK TIRES EVEN IF THEY WERE FINE AND SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED AND OTHERS NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER TO CHANGE A TIPM AND WORK ON THE FUEL PUMP NOT STOPPING EVEN WITH NO KEY IN THE VEHICLE AND CHANGE THE BURNED ELECTRICAL REAR WINDOW SWITCH THAT HAD BURNED LIKE OCTOBER. THE VEHICLE HAD A BRAND NEW BATTERY INSTALLED BY AAA. AND THIS BATTERY CELL WAS DESTROYED BY THE CONTINUOUS DRAINING AND JUMP STARTING. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THE TIPM PUT IN AND RETURNED TO ME A MONTH LATER NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 2 MILES WITHOUT OVERHEATING AND RELEASE OF WHITE SMOKE. THE CAR HAS NO COOLANT IN IT AND NO OIL WHEN REPLACED IMMEDIATELY THE VEHICLE BURNED IT OFF AND IT RAN OUT. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CHARGES FOR THE NEW COMPUTER AND THEN TELLS ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE COOLANT PROBLEM, THE OIL LEAK PROBLEM AND AND SOME CALIBER WITH MY WHEEL. THE VEHICLE ALSO AFTER HAVING A NEW TIPM INSTALLED AND NEW REMOTE CODED AND PROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE PASSENGER DOOR ON THE RIGHT STILL DOESN'T LOCK WITH INSTRUCTION FROM NEITHER REMOTE OR MANUALLY. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME I CAN NOT FIX THE OIL LEAK THING AND DRIVE IT TOPPING OF THE OIL AND CHECKING IT DAILY.
2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY PURCHASED SECOND HAND AT 84.000 MILES VEHICLE STARTED THEN FOLLOWING AT 86,000 MILES. LIGHTS SENSOR WOULD ACTIVATE LIGHTS WITHOUT INPUT FROM REMOTE OR DRIVER. THEN THE LIGHTS STOPPED SENSING WHEN TO CHANGE AND HAS TO BE ACTIVATED IN MANUAL. VEHICLE WINDOWS WOULD NOT REMAIN UP AND LOCKED WHEN MANUALLY INPUTTED TO DO SO OR ACTIVATED TO DO SO WITH REMOTE. INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY SWITCH ON AND RUN THE BATTERY DEAD. THIS RESULTED IN MANY JUMPSTARTS. VEHICLE BEGAN TO USE FUEL LIKE 30.00 WEEKLY WITH NORMAL DRIVING OF MY FAMILY TO 30.00 EVERY TWO TO THREE DAYS WITH NO CHARGE IN DRIVING. THIS INCREASED WHEN THE FAMILY NEEDS TO DRIVE INCREASED TO ALMOST 20.00 DAILY. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON AN INCLINE WOULD STAY AT 30 MPH DESPITE YOU PRESSING THE GAS AND IT WOUL REV. VEHICLE WOULD DECORATE AND ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN MERIT, ONE COULD PRESS THE GAS AND IT WOULDN'T INCREASE GOING UP AN INCLINE CAUSING ANY TO MANEUVER AROUND YOU TO AVOID COLLISION AND THE IT WOULD ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN MERIT. VEHICLE LIFT GATE WOULD NOT REMAIN LOCKED WHEN SECURED WHETHER BY REMOTE OR MANUAL. LIFT GATE ALSO STOPPED SENSING AND HAS ALMOST LOCKED MY SMALL DISABLED A CHILDREN IN BETWEEN WHERE IT CLOSES. VEHICLE LIGHTS WOULD STOP WORKING WITH SENSING IN THE AUTO MODE. HAVE TO MANUALLY USE THEM THEN INTERNAL LIGHTS WOULD COME IN AND KILL THE BATTERY. THE SIGNALS IN THE DASH HAD MAJOR MALFUNCTIONS YOU WOULD GET THE AIRBAG, CHECK ENGINE AND VARIOUS LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY FLASHING. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT WOULD NOT WORK AS YOU CHANGE A FUSE IT WOULD BLOW. THE PASSENGER DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK WITH REMOTE INPUT OR MANUAL LOCK DOOR CAN OPEN WHEN DRIVING. REAR WINDOWS WOULD OPEN ON THEIR OWN MERIT USUALLY CAUSING ANIMAL TO GET IN. THE CAR FUEL PUMP WOULD NOT STOP RUNNING UNTIL THE BATTERY DIED OR THE TERMINAL WAS REMOVED. THE SCREEN SAID DISPLAY IS HOT.*DT*TP
DOOR CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING, SMOKE EVERYWHERE, SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER HOOD.
MY CAR WOULD NOT START HAD TO JUMP IT. THOUGHT BATTERY, NO TOOK IT TO MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM FUEL TIPM, RELAY SWITCH. TOLD CHRYSLER DID NOT RECALL MY VEHICLE BUT RECALLED OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND WAS BUILT IN THE SAME YEAR AS MINE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY THE FIRST TIME. THEN IT STALLED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS TURNING ONTO A CITY STREET FROM MY RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX.
HAND PINCHED IN DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NOT STARTED.
WHILE IN MOTION ON A FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS MY VAN JUST STALLED. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON FIRST AND THEN IT JUST STALLED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. I CALLED FOR A TOW BECAUSE THE VAN WOULD NOT START AFTER THAT, IT JUST KEPT CRANKING AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THE REPAIR SHOP WAS ABLE TO START IT THE NEXT DAY AND SAW A CODE P061C. WHICH MEANS IT WOULD BE 5 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS. THEY ARE KEEPING IT TO DRIVE IT AND HOPEFULLY GET IT TO STALL AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, WHAT IF MY KIDS WITH WITH ME AND WE CRASHED. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS WILL THERE BE BEFORE SOMEONE STEPS IN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THERE HAVE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. HOPEFULLY SOMETHING IS DONE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

THIS HAPPENS WHETHER IT IS INITIALLY PARKED AND NOT RUNNING, OUR IF ITS ALREADY RUNNING AND I PUT IT INTO PARK AND TRY TO PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE (SUCH AS PUTTING IN PARK TO WAIT ON A TRAIN)
FUEL PUMP WON'T TURN OFF AFTER TURNING ENGINE OFF. DRAINS BATTERY COMPLETELY. TIPM IS TO BLAME. READ THE OTHER COMMENTS OR LOOK INTO THE LAWSUITS. THIS AFFECTS ALL CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH THE PENTASTAR ENIGNE.
I REPORTED A STRANGE SOUND TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC, AND HIS TECH QUICKLY AFFIRMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS STILL OPERATING EVEN WITH THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND KEYS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THEY TOLD ME WITHOUT SKIPPING A BEAT THAT THIS WAS A TIPM MALFUNCTION. THEY WERE CONFIDENT THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT CERTAINLY THERE WOULD BE A RECALL THROUGH THE DEALER. HOWEVER, THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THIS MAKE, MODEL, OR YEAR OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE READ AROUND THE WEB, AND IT DOES INDEED SOUND LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVANS MADE BETWEEN 2011 AND 2013 (MINE'S A '12). IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO, IN GOOD FAITH, TRUSTED THE CHRYSLER BRAND. REPLACED ALTERNATOR TWO TIMES WITHIN A YEAR AND NOW NEED A THIRD. STARTED JUNE 2018 WHILE AWAY ON A TRIP, ALL LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD LIGHT UP WITH NO WARNING SIGNS. EVERYTHING FAILED., BRAKES BARELY WORKED TO STOP, NO POWER STEERING, WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO UP/DOWN, NO AIR, NO FLASHES....ETC. THE SECOND TIME JULY 2019, BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON, THEN GOES OFF. A DAY LATER HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED. ALTHOUGH THE BATTERY TESTED WELL ACCORDING TO THE COMPANY, THEY PLACEMENT DUE BEING UNDER WARRANTY. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, AGAIN THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON DURING HIGHWAY SPEED AND CAR BEGINS THE SAME ISSUES AS BEFORE. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP STATES IT'S THE ALTERNATOR ONCE AGAIN. HERE WE ARE DECEMBER 2019 WITH THE SAME ISSUES....NOT TO MENTION THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF AS THE DEALER STATES IT'S NOTHING.
THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE HAS STARTED SLIPPING AT 94000 MILES. I NOTICED IT HAPPENS WHEN TAKING OFF.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V487000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
FRONT PUMP IN TRANSMISSION FAILED. VAN WILL NOT DRIVE.ALSO HAVE KEEP REPLACING SWAY BAR END LINKS, FOR YEARS SINCE NEW. HAD TO REPLACE REAR WHEEL HUBS DUE TO BEARING FAILURE.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2016 FOR THE PURPOSES OF TRANSPORTING 2 DISABLED FAMILY MEMBERS. FIRST, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND STATED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WE'RE NOT WORKING. WHEN I WOULD DRIVE WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE WOULD JUST SHUT OFF I FEARED GETTING HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. THEN THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WOULD STAY ON AFTER SHUTTING VEHICLE OFF UNTIL IT WOULD DRAIN THE BATTERY. AFTER, NOW MY VEHICLE CRANKS BUT DOESN'T START AT ALL. THIS IS A HAZARD AND DANGEROUS WHAT I AM AFRAID OF IS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN LOOKED AT BY THE PROPER DEPARTMENT OR AUTHORITY. I ALSO BROUGHT THIS ISSUE TO CHRYSLER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT ASSIST WITH THE ISSUE AND NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR 5 MONTHS NOW.

AFTER IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME, MY MECHANIC SUGGESTED TO START WITH A FULL TUNE UP AS NO CODES WERE COMING UP. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE. IT IS A TERRIFYING PROBLEM, TO JUST HAVE CAR STOP AT RANDOM WITH NO WARNING AT ANY SPEED. 3 TIMES...1ST IN MOTION CITY STREET GOING STRAIGHT, 2ND TIME IN MOTION CITY STREET RIGHT AFTER MAKING A TURN, 3RD TIME ON HIGHWAY SLOWING DOWN TO TURN. WHY IS THIS NOT PART OF THE RECALL R09 FOR DURANGOS/GRAND CHEROKEE? I CAN NO LONGER TRUST TO HAVE MY KIDS IN THIS CAR THAT IS DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES...HOW DO I KNOW THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WILL BE SAFE?

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: DP14004 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND THE POWER LIFTGATE MALFUNCTIONED, SLAMMED SHUT AND LOCKED ON POINTER FINGER CRUSHING MY DIGITAL NERVE. THE LIFTGATE MALFUNCTIONED TWO YEARS PREVIOUS TO THIS INCIDENT AND WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT IT BEING REPLACED WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. MULTIPLE TIMES THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE IN USE. MY FATHER HAD IT STALL TWICE WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THE VEHICLE STALL WHILE IDLING AT STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS WHEN TRYING TO PROCEED FORWARD. WE ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WHERE WE TOOK THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE AND USING THE GAS PEDAL WAS NOT PROPELLING THE VEHICLE AT A PROPORTIONAL RATE - AND THEN WHEN PUT BACK IN DRIVE THE SAME THING OCCURRED - THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING. WE HAD TO PARK, TURN IT OFF, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE WHICH CLEARED THE ISSUE IN THAT MOMENT. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY TURNS OFF WHILE YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF USING IT! WE HAVE OUR BABIES IN THESE VEHICLES WHILE WE ARE USING THEM! I HAVE READ TOO MANY OTHER ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS WHO ALSO ARE SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR MECHANICS TO GO HUNTING FOR SOLUTIONS - MOST OF WHICH DO NOT WORK. THIS IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AS A LARGER ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I'M LISTING MY SPEED BELOW AS 5 MPH BECAUSE THAT HAS BEEN A FREQUENT CASE; HOWEVER, ANOTHER DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS AT HIGH SPEEDS PREVIOUSLY ON MY VEHICLE.

WE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALSO THE ELECTRICAL BODY CONTROL THROTTLE. THINKING THAT WAS IT. LATER TO FIND OUT THAT IT MAYBE THE FUEL RELAY. AND THAT DODGE DURANGO AND JEEP AND ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND YET CHRYSLER HAS NOT RECALLED THE TOWN AND COUNTRY.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH 2 SMALL KIDS IN THE CAR AND A SEMI RIGHT BEHIND ME WHEN MY VAN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF NOTHING WAS WORKING. AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY ALL THE POWER WAS RESTORED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO OFF RAMP AND STOP. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND NO LIGHTS SHOWING A PROBLEM. VAN IS CURRENTLY INTHE SHOP DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED NO ERROR CODE. ME AND MY KIDS COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH OTHERS AS I HAD NO CONTROL. CURRENTLY AWAITING REPORTS FROM MECHANICS.
OUT OF THE BLUE ONE DAY, I WAS HEARING A CLANGING WHEN MY CAR WAS IDLING BUT WHEN I GAVE IT GAS THE NOICE SEEMED TO STOP. SEVERAL DIFFERENT AUTO SHOPS TOLD ME IT WAS THE ENGINE GONE BAD. I FOUND A SHOP THAT WENT A LITTLE FURTHER IN CHECKING AND FOUND THAT MY "FLYWHEEL " WAS BROKE. THE INNER CIRCLE HAD JUST CRACKED COMPLETELY OUT OF THE OUTER CIRCLE, WHICH IS VERY ODD BECAUSE IT IS A COMPLETE SOLID PIECE. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ACCIDENDENTS OR BLOWS TO THE VECHICLE SO ITS A BIG SURPRISE THAT IT HAPPENED.
