THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V141000 (SUSPENSION). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THE SIDE WARNING SYSTEM (IN MIRRORS) STOPPED WORKING AT ABOUT 41000 MILES. THIS HAS MANY COMPLAINTS AND IS COMMON AT THAT MILEAGE RANGE. THEY CHARGE ABOUT 1500 - 2000 FOR EACH SIDE TO FIX THIS. AT 3 TO 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS I NO LONGER HAVE THIS SAFETY SYSTEM ON MY VAN - I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX IT.

GRINDING COMING FROM REAR WHEELS. ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE WHEEL ON PASSENGER SIDE 1 LUG NUT BROKE. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE BY DRILLING IT OUT, BUT CLAIMED COULDN'T BECAUSE HEAT HAD BEEN APPLIED. I NEVER TOOK IT ANYWHERE NOR APPLIED HEAT. TOOK IT SOME WHERE TO HAVE TAKEN OFF. TURNS OUT I HAD TO REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. FUNNY HOW THERES A HUB ISSUE ON SOME TOWN AND COUNTRY BUT NOT MINE. THEY DIDN'T THINK THE LUG NUT WAS A DEFECT. I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE BREAK WHERE THE COVER OF THE LUG NOT TEARS OFF. THEN THE SIDES OF THE LUG BREAK OFF LEAVING THE BASE OF THE LUG. AFTER DRIVING THE VAN PRIOR TO REPLACEMENT OF PARTS YOU COULD FEEL THE HEAT COMING OFF OF THE WHEELS. POSSIBLY, COULD THAT HAVE BEEN THE HEAT THAT CAUSED THE LUG NOT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE BEEN DRILLED OUT LIKE THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED. AFTER SEVERAL SEARCHES OF THE INTERNET I HAVE SEEN THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE UNHAPPY WITH ALL OF THE OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS CHRYSLER PRODUCT OR THE DEALERSHIPS SELLING THEM.

THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS AND LIFT GATE ARE A SAFETY RISK FOR MY THREE YOUNG CHILDREN. I AM ASSUMING THIS MINIVAN IS MARKETED TOWARD FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN LIKE MINE. MY SEVEN YEAR OLD SON HAS BEEN PUSHED OFF OF HIS FEET BY THE SLIDING DOOR AS IT CLOSED. I AM A GROWN WOMAN AND WAS INJURED BY THE LIFT GATE CLOSING ON ME. THE SENSORS ARE NOT ADJUSTABLE FOR SENSITIVITY ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP.
I GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT HIT FROM SIDE MY CAR SUSTAINED OVER 5,000 OF DAMAGE MY CHILDREN AND I WERE IN THE CAR AT THE TIME THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER THEY JUST ADVISED ME TO GO TO DEALER TO HAVE AIRBAGS CHECKED. NEVER OFFERED TO DO ANY FURTHER INQUIRY. CURRENTLY, MY VAN STARTS AT TIMES AND AT OTHERS DOES NOT MY NEW BATTERY WHICH WAS COSTLY CONTINUES TO BE DRAINED I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY SAID IT WOULD COST 145. JUST TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY AVAILABLE TO CHECK THE CAR I SAID TO THE SERVICE DEPT. "YOU KNOW THESE VANS ARE EXPERIENCING THESE PROBLEMS YET YOU STILL CHARGE ME SO MUCH TO HAVE A KNOWN PROBLEM CHECKED?" THEY SAID YES DO YOU WANT TO MAKE AN APT.? OF COURSE I DID NOT.

BLIND SPOT RIGHT SIDE RADAR (SAFETY FEATURE) FAILED AFTER 41 MONTHS. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2011. INSPECTED FAILED PART AND FOUND A BULGE ON EDGE OF THE PLASTIC CONTAINER. OPENED THE DEVICE AND FOUND METAL CORROSION ON AND IN THE METAL CASE. IT APPEARS THAT THE WATER SEAL EITHER BROKE OR WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO STOP WATER LEAKAGE. METAL CORROSION MATERIAL WAS ON THE PRINT CIRCUIT BOARD WHICH I BELIEVE CASED THE FAILURE.

ALL SAFETY FEATURES SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING, REAR CROSS PATH DETECTION, PARK ASSIST, REAR VIEW CAMERA, AND COMPASS ALL STOPPED. I WAS TOLD THIS IS FROM DRIVING THE CAR IN THE WINTER! APPARENTLY, THERE ARE TWO MODULES LOCATED BEHIND THE BUMPER THAT HAVE CORRODED SEVERELY. THE SNOW AND SALT IS THROWN OFF THE TIRES DIRECTLY ON THESE INTEGRATED UNITS THAT ARE NOT SEALED SUFFICIENTLY AND SO THE UNITS CORRODE AND FAIL. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A DESIGN FAILURE. THESE CRITICAL UNITS THAT RUN ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT SHOULD NOT BE PLACED SO CARELESSLY AND NOT PROPERLY PROTECTED. PLEASE SEE CHRYSLER RECALLS AND FIXES THIS DESIGN FAILURE. THANK YOU.

THE BLIND SPOT DETECTOR STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY, ALL OF THE SUDDEN, WITHOUT ANY KNOWN OTHER DAMAGE OR EVENT TO THE CAR. THE ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM IS $2200. THE SAFETY SYSTEM GIVES AN AUDIBLE "DING, DING, DING" ALERT PERIODICALLY AND THE SENSOR LIGHTS ON THE MIRROR ARE ALWAYS LIT. VERY DISTRACTING.

MY COMPLAINT IS ON HOW LONG IT IS TAKING THE DEALERSHIP TO GET A PART FOR THE RECALL ON THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH. I REQUESTED SERVICE IN APRIL WHEN WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND AS OF TODAY THEY SAY THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PART. I ASKED WHY AND THEY SAY IT IS A RESTRICTED ORDER.

WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS A LONG DELAY ON THE ORDERING OF THIS PART (THE REAR WINDOW RECALL ISSUE) CANNOT UNDERSTAND IF THIS IS A POSSIBLE FIRE ISSUE THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT BEING SHIPPED AS REQUESTED. THIS MAKES ME VERY CONCERNED AS I TRANSPORT CHILDREN AND THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. MY VAN HAS THE SAFETY RECALL TO HAVE THERE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH REPLACED. I HAVE TRIED 6 TIMES TO BRING MY VAN IN TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED AND THE DEALERSHIP (HENDRICK, CHRYSLER JEEP 543N MCPHERSON CHURCH RD FAYETTEVILLE NC 28303) SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN AND CAN NOT ORDER PARTS. THEY HAVE ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN PARTS WILL COME IN AND WHEN THEY DO COME IN THEY CANNOT HOLD THEM. THEY WANT ME TO CONTINUE CALLING AND HOPING THAT A PART COMES ON. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS PART REPLACED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THERE HAS BEEN NO INCIDENTS WITH THE PART ON MY VAN I WOULD JUST LIKE THE PART REPLACED IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. *TR
I OWN 2012 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. I FOUND THAT IF I DRIVE 15MPH FRONT DOOR, SLIDING DOOR AND REAR HATCH WILL BE LOCKED. AFTER I HEAR LOCK SOUND, I CAN STILL OPEN FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR WHILE I AM DRIVING. EVEN I CAN OPEN BOTH FRONT DOOR WHILE I AM DRIVING AT 70MPH. I RENT A 2015 CHRYSLER 200 AT AIRPORT, FOUND THAT SAME ISSUE.

SUB: P25NHTSA 14V-234 REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT STATED, ?CHRYSLER HAS DETECTED THAT A DEFECT, WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY, EXISTS IN SOME 2010 THROUGH 2014 MODEL YEAR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VEHICLES.? MY VEHICLE FALLS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROBLEM. WE CONTACTED ARRIGO OF WEST PALM BEACH ON APRIL 9, 2015 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AND WAS INFORMED THAT ?THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THE PART CAME IN.? IT HAS BEEN FIVE MONTHS NOW AND THEY HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED THE REQUIRED PARTS AS OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2015. AS STATED IN THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER, IF THE DEALER FAILS OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT WITHOUT CHARGE AND WITH IN A REASONABLE TIME, I MAY SUBMIT A WRITTEN COMPLAINT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR, NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION.? WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAS TAKEN FIVE MONTHS OR POSSIBLY LONGER FOR A DEALER TO RECEIVE A SAFETY RECALL PART, SO THAT THIS SAFETY HAZARD MAY BE REPAIRED AS WELL AS MY PEACE OF MIND. THE PROBLEM AS STATED, ?THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH ON YOUR VEHICLE MAY OVERHEAT IF EXPOSED TO LIQUID MOISTURE. AN OVERHEATED REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH MAY CAUSE A BURNING ODOR, SMOKE, OR A DRIVER'S DOOR FIRE WITHOUT WARNING.? I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND HAVE A INQUIRY OPENED ABOUT A CHRYSLER AND FAULTY SAFETY DEVICE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM ON ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES THAT FAILS REPEATEDLY TIME AND TIME AGAIN BUT DOESN'T HAVE A COMPANY RECALL. I HAVE A ACTIVE CASE OPEN WITH CHRYSLER AND HAVE TRIED TO GET THEM TO REVIEW THIS SAFETY FEATURE THAT FAILS WITHOUT NOTICE ON PERFECT MINT CONDITIONS VEHICLES CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVANS. THERE A VERY NUMEROUS CASES OF THIS THAT HAS A PRICE TAG THAT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FOR THE PART IN THE CAR. TWO 3" X 3" PLASTIC BOXES ARE OVER $1100 EACH AND WILL NOT WORK IF ONE FAILS SO BOTH HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME CAUSING A $2200-$3000 EXPENDITURE ARE VERY LIMITED MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
MY BLIND SPOT DETECTION WARNING SYSTEM HAS STOPPED WORKING. THE INDICATORS ON THE REVIEW MIRRORS COMES ON AND STAY ON AND I GET A MESSAGE THE SYSTEM IS DISABLED. I WENT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON APRIL 7TH AND WAS TOLD THE SENSORS IN THE BACK BUMPER WERE BAD. I WAS QUOTED AT LEAST $2,500. TO FIX THIS. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE 800 NUMBER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. THIS IS FURTHER AGGRAVATING BECAUSE I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY BACKUP CAMERA. IT HAS NOT WORKED SINCE ABOUT 37,000 MILES. IT WORKS FINE AFTER 45 SECONDS BUT NOT UNTIL THEN. WHEN I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER THEY TOLD ME TO BUY A NEW RADIO. WHILE I HAVE A LOT OF MILES ON MY VEHICLE, NEITHER OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE MILEAGE RELATED. THEY ARE BOTH SAFETY ISSUES. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 43 YEARS AND NEVER HAD BLIND SPOT WARNING OR BACK UP CAMERA SYSTEMS BEFORE SO DO NOT PLAN TO PAY TO FIX. THEY ALSO TOLD ME I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE WARNING LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE. THAT IS DISTRACTING. WARNING LIGHTS ON BOTH MIRRORS FOR BLIND SPOT DETECTION STAY ON ALWAYS - WITH THE DING DING DING SOUNDS RINGING ON AND OFF - WEATHER DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR SITTING STILL PARKED, IF THE CAR IS RUNNING, THE PROBLEM IS THERE. I BELIEVE THIS UNSAFE ISSUE SHOULD BE FIXED BY A RECALL, AS IT IS A PROBLEM THAT IS VERY UNSAFE & DANGEROUS, MANY FOLKS WHOM HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME UNSAFE PROBLEM! I PAID FOR THIS FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE, TO ADD SAFETY AND NOW IT IS CAUSING JUST THE OPPOSITE, UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS REALLY CONCERNS ME, A SAFETY FEATURE FAILING ON ALL THESE CARS AND ESPECIALLY AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. WITH THIS FEATURE MALFUNCTIONING, IT IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS THAN TEXTING OR TALKING ON THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING. WHAT IS THE CRITERIA TO GET A RECALL IN PLACE, DO PEOPLE HAVE TO HAVE ACCIDENTS OR DIE TO GET A PROBLEM RECALLED, HOW IS IT DECIDED.
