ARRIGO DEALERSHIP HAS FAILED TO CORRECT SAFETY RECALL FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS. (P25/NHTSA 14-234) THEY KEEP SAYING PART NEEDS TO BE ORDER. *TR
THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM FAILED. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALER, AND THE SENSOR THAT HAS FAILED WOULD COST OVER $1000 TO REPLACE. I BELIEVE THAT THE THERE IS A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH WATER INTRUSION THAT IS THE ROOT OF THE ISSUE. WHILE I UNDERSTAND THAT THE VEHICLE IS LONG OUT OF WARRANTY, FOR A SAFETY FEATURE TO FAIL (AND BASED ON THE INTERNET CHATTER, AND THE FACT THAT THE DEALER HAD THE PART ON A 20+ PART BACK ORDER)...I THINK THAT THERE IS A CERTAIN DESIGN PROBLEM. ADDITIONALLY, THE $1000 COST IS CERTAINLY EXCESSIVE.

WE HAVE A 2012 TOWN AND COUNTRY JUST OVER 36000 MILES AND THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM IS FAILING. NOW WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR THE LIGHTS ON THE MIRRORS LIGHT UP ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS A BEEPING SOUND THAT WILL NOT QUIT. IT'S A DANGER AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE LIGHTS STAY ON OR BLINK ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME. THERE IS NOT A SEPARATE FUSE FOR THIS FEATURE SO YOU CAN'T PULL THE FUSE OR YOU WILL LOSE THINGS YOU NEED. *TR

2012 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. CONSUMER IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF VEHICLE BECAUSE OF RECALL DUE TO DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. *TA THE CONSUMER STATED A RECENT RECALL, RESULTED IN NO PARTS BEING AVAILABLE. *JB
MY GAS GAUGE INDICATED I HAD MORE THAN 1/4 TANK FULL. INSTEAD, IT WAS EMPTY, AND I RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, IN THE MIDDLE OF DETROIT'S WORST SNOW STORM IN 40 YEARS, WITH A TODDLER IN THE BACK SEAT. I SUBSEQUENTLY FILLED MY CAR AFTER WAITING IN FREEZING COLD UNTIL AN OFFICER PULLED OVER AND HELPED ME, AND MY GAS GAUGE WENT TO COMPLETELY EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I THEN FILLED MY TANK. IT STAYED AT EMPTY FOR A DAY UNTIL SUDDENLY MOVING TO 3/4 FULL, AND HASN'T BUDGED SINCE. I HAVE NO IDEA NOW HOW MUCH GAS MY TANK ACTUALLY HAS. DESPITE THE SNOW STORM ON SUNDAY WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, THE TEMPS WERE NOT ANYTHING EXTRAORDINARILY COLD FOR A MIDWEST WINTER, AND REGARDLESS OF TEMP, THE GAS GAUGE SHOULD ALWAYS WORK. HAD I NOT HAD MY CELL PHONE, OR HAD I BEEN IN A MORE REMOTE AREA, OR HAD IT BEEN DARK AT NIGHT AND I WAS IN A DANGEROUS AREA, THE TODDLER AND I COULD HAVE BEEN IN REAL PHYSICAL DANGER. THE POTENTIAL DISASTER THAT COULD HAVE ENSUED MAKES ME SHUDDER. THIS IS ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FOR OTHER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVANS. *TR

JUST RECEIVED (1-2015) MY SECOND NOTICE FOR REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH RECALL. AS I DID WHEN THE FIRST NOTICED ARRIVED (7-2014) I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A DATE WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. FROM WHAT I SEE ON THE RECALL THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE A FIRE WHICH IS PROBABLY NOT GOOD AS THE VAN IS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE WHEN HOME. PARKING OUTSIDE IS NOT VERY CONVENIENT OR LOGICAL AS WE ARE SEEING TEMPS FALLING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS AGAIN AND MORE SNOW ON THE WAY. DON'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO TURN FOR HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I WAS FIRST MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL ON THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH, 14V-234000, IN LATE FALL OF 2014. BUT CHRYSLER MADE IT CLEAR IMMEDIATELY THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR. THEN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER MAKING IT SEEM AS IF THE PART IS NOW AVAILABLE AND I CAN GET THIS SAFETY ISSUE RESOLVED. WELL, I HAVE CALLED MY DEALERSHIP (ADAMSON MOTORS IN ROCHESTER, MN) TWICE WITH NO LUCK. THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID THE PART WAS STILL ON BACK ORDER. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID PARTS ARE TRICKLING IN AND THEY WILL TAKE MY INFORMATION AND PUT MY NAME ON A PART WHEN THEY GET ONE IN FOR ME. THAT WAS OVER A WEEK AGO, STILL WAITING. I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE THAT WENT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP THE WEEK PRIOR TO WHEN I CALLED THE SECOND TIME (IN BETWEEN MY PHONE CALLS)AND GOT THE SAME RECALL PART REPLACED. LAST JANUARY, 2015, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO JIM CLICK CHRYSLER JEEP, 701 W AUTO MALL DR, TUCSON, AZ 85705 TO FULFILL A SAFETY RECALL, P25/NHTSA 14V-234, TO HAVE THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH REPLACED DUE TO A POSSIBLE OVERHEATING CONDITION. AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY ARRIVE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN CONTACTED; THEY HAVE MY NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL. I JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM ILLUMINATES CONSTANTLY. SYSTEM HAS FAILED AND CAN NOT DETECT VEHICLES IN THE BLIND SPOT. UNABLE TO TURN OFF SYSTEM UNLESS PAYING FOR COSTLY REPAIR. LIGHTS AND CHIMES ARE DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER AND COULD RESULT IN UNNECESSARY AVOIDANCE MANEUVERS. *TR
MY 2 YEAR OLD SON EXITED THE VAN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THROUGH POWER SLIDING DOOR. THE DOOR CLOSED ON HIS HAND AND DID NOT RETRACT AUTOMATICALLY. WE REACHED OUT TO CHRYSLER WHO SENT AN INSPECTOR. THE INSPECTOR TESTED THE DOOR WITH A FOLDED TERRY CLOTH. I PROVIDED HIM WITH A DOLL, WHICH HAS A HAND THE SAME SIZE AND SHAPE OF A CHILD'S. THE PASSENGER DOOR CLOSED COMPLETELY ON THE DOLL HAND. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPENED AUTOMATICALLY. SO THERE EXISTED A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO DOORS. CHRYSLER STATED THEY BELIEVE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VAN. WE TOOK THE VAN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY ALSO STATED THE DOOR CLOSES NORMALLY. WE REACHED OUT TO THE LOCAL NEWS STATION WFTV WHO AGREED TO ASSIST BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR STILL CLOSED ON THE DOLL HAND, WHILE THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DID NOT. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO ZEMBOWER'S AUTO CENTER WHERE IMMEDIATE TESTING REVEALED THE CAR NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. THE COMMENT WAS MADE, HOW IS CHRYSLER ABLE TO DIAGNOSE A POTENTIAL ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO BE SURE ITS OPERATING NORMALLY. I TOOK THE VAN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO THEN AGREED, THE VAN DOES NEED A NEW BATTERY. WE TOOK THE VAN BACK TO ZEMBOWERS FOR A BATTERY REPLACEMENT. UPON REPLACEMENT THE PASSENGER DOOR NOW SEEMS TO BE OPERATING NORMALLY. SO THE ISSUE STILL REMAINS, WHY IS IT THAT WHEN THE BATTERY IS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT IN THE VAN, THAT THE PASSENGER POWER DOOR IS LESS SENSITIVE THAN THE DRIVERS SIDE, ALLOWING IT TO CLOSE ON HANDS OF CHILDREN? AND IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, SO NO INDICATION WAS GIVEN AS TO THE VAN NEEDING A NEW BATTERY. SO, BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE, ARE WE TO ASSUME THAT ANYTIME THE VAN BATTERY IS DEPLETED, EVEN BEFORE GIVING ANY INDICATION THROUGH THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS, THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER DOOR WILL BECOME INSENSITIVE? THIS ISSUE REMAINS UNRESOLVED. *TR
