AIRBAG LIGHT IS ONSHOWING RED
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. AFRAID TO DRIVE BECAUSE BAGS MAY ACTIVATE.
WHILE I WAS WAITING TO PICK UP SOMEONE ON A SCHOOL PARKING LOT (BEING PARKED, AND ENGINE WAS ON), I SUDDENLY HEARD VERY(!!) LOUD, SEVERAL THUNDER-LIKE OR SHOT-GUN SOUNDS. AS I ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW, I HEARD AGAIN THAT SAME SOUNDS AND THE SOUND IS THEN ACCOMPANIED AS IF A WINDOW WAS GRINDED. THE WINDOW DIDN'T COME UP SO I ASSUMED IT WAS BROKEN INTO PIECES. ACCORDING TO BODY SHOP, THE REGULATOR FOR THE WINDOW IS BROKEN WHILE THE WINDOW GLASS IS PERFECTLY FINE. ALSO, I WAS RECOMMENDED TO TALK TO CHRYSLER REP FOR POSSIBLE RECALL. THE CHRYSLER DEALER SHOP INDICATED THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY VAN'S VIN. IT'S SO STRANGE THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS SO I WAS LOOKING AT THIS WEBSITE, AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A VERY SIMILAR SITUATION LIKE MINE FOR CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN (RECALL # P25). I PAID $360 OUT OF POCKET TO CHANGE A REGULATOR, AND PLEASE INVESTIGATE FURTHER.
MY WIFE WAS TURNING OFF A MAIN ROAD ON TO THE INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, ELECTRICAL POWER TURNED OFF AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND BREAKS. I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION OFF AND BACK ON.
UPON TURNING ON THE IGNITION OF MY VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE, THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WENT ON IN THE DASHBOARD. WHILE DRIVING WHETHER IT BE ON THE HWY/CITY THE LIGHT STAYED ON AND WOULDN'T TURN OFF. THIS CAR HASN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT ACCORDING TO MY KNOWLEDGE. I TOOK IT TO SKIBA AUTO REPAIR AND THEY THOUGHT THAT IT WAS JUST THE WIRE, WHICH IS COMMON FOR THIS TYPE OF REPAIR. BUT IT WASN'T AND UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THEY DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WHICH WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A DEALER. IF THE CAR IS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION THE PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY NOT INFLATE RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH. THERE IS NO CURRENT AIR BAG REPLACEMENT RECALL FOR THIS VIN...
I BOUGHT VAN USED BUT THE RED GUY WITH THE AIR BAG IS ON ALL THE TIME ON THE DASH SINCE I BOUGHT IT. BUT READING ABOUT IT, IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE IN A LOT OF TOWN AND COUNTRY'S THIS YEAR.

DOVER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (396 US-46, ROCKAWAY, NJ 07866, (973) 366-7000) WAS CALLED AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE HOSE FILTER THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
EVERY TROUBLE LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CAME ON. THERE IS NO POWER TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. IT'S POSSIBLE THE ENGINE COULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING THE VAN. THE PROBLEM STARTED ON 10/6/2018. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND HAD A 3RD PARTY REPLACE THE FUSE BOX. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE BATTERY WAS THEN REPLACED. THIS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ALL TROUBLE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ARE ILLUMINATED (INC - CHARGING SYSTEM, OIL PRESSURE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES, AIR BAG, ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, TIRE PRESSURE, ENGINE TEMPERATURE, SEAT BELT, BRAKE, ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, VEHICLE SECURITY, LOW FUEL). THE LIGHTS WERE GOING ON INTERMITTENTLY, BUT ARE NOW ON CONSTANTLY. I CANNOT DRIVE THE VAN DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT JUST MIGHT SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR THRUWAY. THE VEHICLE IS NOW PARKED. AND I NEED A VEHICLE TO DRIVE!!
DRIVING AT 30 MPH OR SLOWER,THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE COMPUTER RESETS IT'SELF. THE GAS MILEAGE GOES FROM 21 TO 22 MPG BACK TO FACTORY 18 MPG AND YOU HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND NO POWER BRAKES. IT COULD CAUSE ME TO WRECK FOR THE LAST TIME I WAS IN DOWN TOWN LISBON, OHIO MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN IT JUST SHUT OFF AND LOST POWER. YOU PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND IT WILL START RIGHT UP BUT IT'S HARD TO DO WHILE TURNING AND NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES.
OIL FILTER ADAPTER HOUSING FAILURE, LEAKS OIL ALL OVER THE MOTOR AND EXHAUST
THE DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT OPEN ITS SHUT CLOSE AND IT WON'T OPEN AND THE DRIVER SEAT DOES NOT GO BACK OR FORTH THIS JUST STARTED HAPPENING THE SEAT STOP WORKING IN AUGAST AND THE DOOR LOCKED SHUT 2 WEEKS AGO IT'S A CONCERN FOR ME WHY DOES IT DO THAT
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. I ENTERED THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND SAT DOWN ON THE SEAT. WE SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD BANG AND I FELT SOMETHING GRAZE THE BACK OF MY HEAD. THAT'S WHEN WE REALIZED THE HEADREST EXPLODED AND NEARLY HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND NECK. AFTER LOOKING CLOSER AT THE HEADREST, THE BASE IS MADE OF PLASTIC WITH A METAL ROD THAT LOCKS THE HEADREST TO THE UPRIGHT SUPPORTS. THERE ARE TWO GAS PISTONS THAT PUSH AGAINST THE PLASTIC BASE OF THE HEADREST AND THE POSTS THAT GO IN THE BACK OF THE SEAT. THE PLASTIC HEADREST BASE FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY, WHICH ALLOWED THE HEADREST PISTONS TO EXPAND FORCEFULLY.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IT SHUT OFF AND LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. ONCE TO A COMPLETE STOP, TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED BACK ON. RESUMED NORMAL DRIVING FUNCTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JAY MALONE MOTORS (PO BOX 669, HUTCHINSON, MN 55350, (320) 587-4748) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE $500 REPAIR COST WAS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A FIVE YEAR OLD VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT & SUDDENLY THE HEADREST IMPLODED INTO THE BACK OF MY HEAD. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. LOOKED IN THE MIRROR, NOBODY BEHIND ME. THEN I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD GOTTEN INTO MY CAR & STRUCK THE BACK OF MY SEAT, WHICH WAS TERRIFYING. GOT OUT & LOOKED RIGHT THERE AT THE LIGHT, & IT APPEARED TO HAVE A BROKEN PLASTIC PIECE INSIDE. NOW I'M NOT SURE IT IS SAFE, BUT HAVING STOPPED AT A DEALERSHIP, I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY NEARLY 700.00 FOR A NEW HEADREST. I SAW SIMILAR CASES FOR EARLIER MODELS HAD BEEN RE--CALLED. HAS MINE? PLEASE ADVISE.

THE CONTACT TURNED THE LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE LIGHTS WERE OPERATIONAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.
HEADREST DEPLOYED, CAUSED BY PLASTIC BREAKING THAT HOLDS PIN. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT DEALERSHIP AWAITING SERVICE.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL OPEN AND CLOSE NORMALLY BUT WHEN IT GETS HOT OUTSIDE THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH WHEN IT CLOSES. DOOR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO LATCH SHUT. THIS WILL ALSO START HAPPENING IF THE VEHICLE GOES OVER A BUMP WHILE DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS GO ON THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN. THE DOOR IS TRYING TO OPEN AND CLOSE WHILE DRIVING
ACTIVE HEADREST ACTIVATED DUE TO PLASTIC PIECE BRAKING. WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE HEADREST CAME APART. WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. THE PRESSURE FROM THE HEADREST STRUCK PASSENGER IN THE HEAD

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1890 DOGWOOD DR. SE, CONYERS, GA 30013, (678) 210-2489) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
WHILE DRIVING. I WAS SLOWLY APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST EXPLODED OPEN. IT WAS A LOAD BANG SOUND. I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME $846.00 NOT INCLUDING LABOR FEES. THEN THEY GAVE ME A PIN THAT CAME FROM MY HEADREST AND SAID IT HAD BROKE. THAT THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. I'VE CALLED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER IN THE OWNERS MANUAL AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP ME BECAUSE THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND THAT IT HAD TOO MANY MILES. MY VAN HAS 58,000 MILES ON IT. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY OR THE OTHER HEADREST COULD EXPLODE OPEN LIKE THIS ONE DID. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I NEED HELP WITH THIS AND I KEEP GETTING TURNED AWAY. I'M JUST BLESSED MY FAMILY WAS NOT INJURIES. I LOOKED ON RECALLS AND THIS HAPPENED TO SOME 2013 MODELS LIKE MINE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I CAN'T GET ASSISTANCE.
VAN WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. MY PASSENGER WINDOW MALFUNCTIONED WHEN ROLLING DOWN. IT MADE A LOUD NOISE AND THEN FELL RAPIDLY DOWN INTO THE DOOR FRAME. I HEARD IT BREAKING AS IT FELL DOWN AT RAPID SPEED INSIDE OF THE DOOR.
DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED IN 04/2017 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND UNOCCUPIED IN THE DRIVEWAY. PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED 06/2018 WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH ON A PAVED ROAD. THERE WAS NO COLLISION.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND COMING TO A STOP LIGHT OR SIGN. IT STARTS TO JERK AND SHUDDER. SOMETIMES STALLING AND IT NEEDS TO BE PUT INTO PARK RESTARTED AND SOMETIMES IT WILL IMMEDIATELY DIE AGAIN. NO CODES ARE THROWN AND ALL MECHANICS AND CHRYSLER DEALERS ARE STUMPED AS TO WHAT'S CAUSING IT.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE IN THE REAR ALONG THE SECOND ROW OF SEATING BY THE USB OUTLETS/POWER INVERTER. THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING AND THEN SPARKS FLEW OUT OF THE OUTLETS. THERE WERE NO CORDS PLUGGED IN AND THE SEATS WERE FOLDED DOWN. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF, IT THEN CAUGHT FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND THE SMOKING OCCURRED AT A STOP LIGHT. AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGED FROM RED TO GREEN, I PARKED THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM TRAFFIC AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE ONCE SPARKS EMITTED FROM THE OUTLET. *TR*DT*TP
THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKES, STEERING AND ELECTRICAL.
ENGINE SHUT DOWN. DROVE TO LOCAL EATERY; WHEN I CAME OUT 15 MINUTES LATER CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD TO TOW IT HOME AND CHRYSLER SERVICE IN MY TOWN COULD NOT SERVICE MY CAR UNTIL A WEEK LATER. CAR HAS JUST 60,000 MILES
MY VAN WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT IN IT AND TURNED IT ON. I WENT TO UNROLL THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND I HEARD GLASS BREAKING. THE ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SLID DOWN INTO THE DOOR FRAME AND WOULD NOT ROLL BACK UP AND I HEARD THE GLASS BREAKING ON THE WAY DOWN.
IN JUNE 2018 WHILE DRIVING THE CHRYSLER VAN ON THE HIGHWAY, THE HEADREST EXPLODED HITTING MY HUSBAND IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. WE TOOK THE VAN TO HAVE THE HEADREST REPLACED COSTING US $305.60. I SAW ON THE NEWS YESTERDAY THAT A WOMAN HAS STARTED A CLASS ACTION SUIT BECAUSE HER HEADREST EXPLODED ON THE SAME YEAR CHRYSLER VEHICLE. THERE MUST BE A PROBLEM WITH THESE HEADRESTS AND CHRYSLER SHOULD REIMBURSE PEOPLE FOR THE MONEY THEY HAD TO PAY AND ALSO RECALL ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR HEADRESTS BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED BY THEM. MY HUSBAND SAID IT WAS A HARD HIT TO HIS HEAD WHEN IT EXPLODED LIKE SOMEONE HIT HIM IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE MY VAN SHAKES PRETY BAD WHENE I DRIVING OR ON PARKING POSITION.
IN MOTION THE CURSE CONTROL WILL NOT TURN ON OR IT WILL TURN OFF WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP ABOUT SIX MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VAN . THE AUTO DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. NOW IT HAS BEEN 4 YEARS AND I'M STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND THE SHUTTING OFF OF THE CURSE CONTROL OR TURNING ON IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN.L NEED SOME HELP FIGURING OUT WHAT THE CAUSE IS OF THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PERFORMANCE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM CENTERVILLE (95 LOOP RD, CENTERVILLE, OH 45459, (937) 434-9500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNSOED THAT THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON. HOOD PAINT BUBBLING. STOW AND GO SEATS SHAKE AND VIBRATE ON INTERSTATE. BRAKE ROTORS STILL RATTLE VIBRATE EVEN AFTER NEW MOPAR CALIPERS AND ROTORS REPLACED.
THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A CRASH AND ONLY HAS 36,000 MILES ON IT. THE PART IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE AND/OR POORLY MADE AS I CAN SEE THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT BROKE CAUSING THE FAILURE. I AM UNABLE TO RESET THE HEADREST THUS RENDERING THIS SAFETY DEVICE USELESS.
VEHICLE OVERHEATS TO THE POINT WHERE I HAVE TO PULL OVER, OPEN THE HOOD, OPEN THE RADIATOR CAP, LET IT DRAIN AND ADD MORE WATER/ANTIFREEZE. I HAVE T DO THIS EVERY DAY ONCE OR TWICE A DAY. I DRIVE 7 MILES TO WORK. THE THERMOSTAT HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 90K MILES. ALSO, CANNOT PUT GAS ON THE TANK. IT DOES NOT TAKE MORE THAN 1/5TH OF A GALLON AND IT STOPS... HAVE TO RESTART THE GAS ADDING SITUATION EVERY COUPLE OF MINUTES. IT TAKES ABOUT 20 TO 30 MINUTES TO FILL UP THE TANK.
OIL FILTER HOUSING-THE ENGINE HAS A MAJOR OIL LEAK DUE TO PART NUMBER 68105583AA. IN ADDITION, UNRELATED TO THE OIL LEAK THE DRIVER SEAT ALSO UNEXPECTEDLY REVERSED AND WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD AGAIN. WHILE SITTING AT THE INTERSECTION THE CAR ENGINE SUDDENLY STALLED. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THIS WAS DUE TO LEAK OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO USE EVASIVE MEASURES TO PREVENT A CRASH.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A SOUND AS IF THE CD PLAYER WERE CYCLING FOR ANOTHER CD. SUDDENLY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD REST AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SORE NECK AND POSSIBLE CONCUSSION, BUT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS REPLACED BY VICTORVILLE MOTORS (14617 CIVIC DR., VICTORVILLE, CA 92394, (760) 733-8484) WHO WAS ALSO INFORMED OF THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,833.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE AND P517 CODE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE FAILURES WERE NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,400.
OIL PRESSURE SENSOR HAS FAILED AND WILL NOT COME OUT USING PROPER TOOLS. I WAS TOLD THE SWITCH WILL NEED TO BE FORCEFULLY REMOVED.
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 38 MPH. I WAS FEATHERING THE THROTTLE AS I WAS APPROACHING A TURNING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, ELECTRICAL POWER TURNED OFF AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND BREAKS. I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION OFF AND BACK ON.
OIL FILTER/ADAPTER/OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY FAILED, CAUSING LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL TO LEAK ALL OVER ENGINE & TRANSMISSION, LIKELY CREATING A FIRE HAZARD.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON MAY 2017 FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER, WHEN WE TOOK IT FOR A ROAD TEST WE FELT SOME 'RUMBLING' EVERY TIME THAT WE APPLIED THE BRAKES, WHEN WE QUESTIONED THE SALES PERSON, WE WERE TOLD THAT IS BECAUSE THE 'ABS' BEING ACTIVATED. WHEN WE TOOK IT FOR STATE INSPECTION, MARCH 2018, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE DISC BRAKES ON THE FOUR WHEELS WERE 'RUSTING' AND NEEDED TO BE 'TURNED' TO CLEAN THE RUST, OF COURSE WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. CHECKING IN THE INTERNET, I READ THAT OTHER DRIVERS WERE COMMENTING THAT THEY HAVE THE SANE ISSUE, RUSTED DISCS, ETC. ETC. I BELIEVE THAT MANUFACTURER USED POOR QUALITY COMPONENTS AND SHOULD MAKE THINGS RIGHT.
AIR BAG LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL CAME ON THE OTHER DAY AND STAYS ON WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING.
THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT SPONTANEOUSLY UNBUCKLES WHILE DRIVING. EVEN AFTER LATCHING IT SECURELY, HEARING A 'CLICK' AND NOTING THE ABSENCE OF THE DRIVER SEAT BELT WARNING, IT HAS COME UNBUCKLED SPONTANEOUSLY WHICH TRIGGERS THE SEAT BELT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED DOZENS OF TIMES AND WE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE THE SEAT BELT AS A RESULT. NOTE: ALTHOUGH THIS VEHICLE IS A 2014 MODEL YEAR, IT HAD LESS THAN 17,000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE PURCHASED IT AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THIS PROBLEM. THAT WAS IN OCTOBER OF 2017.
STALLS WITHOUT WARNING UNDER ALL CONDITIONS. ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS (ENGINE, LIGHTS, POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, INTERIOR LIGHTS, DASHBOARD LIGHTS). THIS USED TO HAPPEN ONCE AND A WHILE. NOW IT HAPPENS MORE THAN ONCE A DAY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. LAST TIME THE CAR WAS AT THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. DO NOT BUY A CHRYSLER MINIVAN UNTIL THIS IS ADDRESSED, THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DANER, AND THERE IS A RECALL. CAR HAS LESS THAN 40K MILES. MOST RECENTLY HAPPENED WHEN TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 20MPH, WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND INTO TRAFFIC ON A BUSY ROAD, TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS 40F. CITY STREET. CAR WAS ALREADY WARM (HAD BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 10-MILES PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. I'M ONLY ALLOWED TO CHECK THREE ITEMS FOR PART OF THE CAR AFFECTED, BUT OTHER SYSTEMS WERE ALSO EFFECTED INCLUDING LIGHTING, PEED CONTROL, WIPERS, POWER SEATS, STEERING, ELEC STABILITY CONTROL, AIR BAGS, TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A CONSTANT SPEED AND THEN ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED AND THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. AFTER PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE SPEED DECREASES. THE ACCELERATION CONTINUED FROM 10 TO 20 SECONDS DURING THESE TIMES. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS CONDITION 5 OR 6 TIMES. THE CONDITION INITIALLY OCCURRED IN AUG 2015 AND I TOOK IT TO A DEALER BUT NO CODES WERE FOUND AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONDITION OCCURRED AGAIN IN 2018 ON A MORE FREQUENT BASIS (4 OR 5 TIMES). I AGAIN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. I ALSO TOOK THE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP THAT SPECIALIZES IN ELECTRICAL AND DRIVABILITY ISSUES. THEY HAD THE CARS FOR 2 DAYS AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR FIND ANYTHING TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. I HAVE A CASE NO. 27622793. WHEN I HEARD OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND RECALLS WITH OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES IN MAY 2018 I CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT A FINAL LIST OF VEHICLES WAS NOT OUT YET AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED IF AND WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO HAV A PROBLEM.
EVEN DRIVING DOWN MILD GRADE FRONT DISC BRAKES ROTORS BECOMES WARPED UNDER NORMAL BRAKING ( HEAT) CONDITION. THIS CREATES UNUSUAL SHAKING , VIBRATION OF STEERING WHEEL AND THE WHOLE FRONT SUSPENSION. I WAS TOLD BY FEW MECHANICS THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE MANUFACTURER IS NOT WILLING DO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE, LOK INTO THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE IT IS OBVIOUS DEFECT AND COULD PRESENT DANGEROUS SITUATION.
WE HAVE MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS INVOLVING DIFFERENT SYSTEMS. ORC AND SEAT BELT TENSION-ER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. BLIND SPOT SENSOR AND HARNESS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALONG WITH LEFT SIDE MODULE. LOCK ACTUATOR ON PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AIR BAG SENSOR FOR DRIVER IS MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING VAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF HIS HOME AND VEHICLE SUDDENLY BURST INTO FLAMES. THE FLAMES QUICKLY ENGULFED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND PUT OUT THE FLAMES. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE EITHER A POLICE OR FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE VEHICLE ALONG WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AS WELL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY SENT A LETTER DIRECTING THE CONTACT TO WORK WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO SETTLE THE CLAIM . THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 115,000. *LN*JB
