I PAID APRX $400 FOR NEW TIRES MAY 18 2018. ON 6/29 ON HIGHWAY I HAD A BLOW OUT. HAD TO FIND A WALMART IN DAPHNE AL TO GET NEW TIRE. THEY SAID OH MAYBE FROM THE HEAT AND KEPT MAKING EXCUSES BUT BOTTOM LINE TIRES WERE ABOUT A MONTH OLD WAS NO REASON THAT SHOULD HAPPENED. SO WE REPLACED THE TIRE AND WOULDNT LET ME KEEP BLOWN OUT ONE FOR PROOF. NOW PAST COUPLE WEEKS THR SAME TIRE THEY REPLACED HAS BEEN GETTING LOW OVER AND OVER. TODAY GO OUT AND BASICALLY WAS FLAT TO RIM . I GO GET AIR AND SEE BUBBLES FROM IN BETWEEN TREADS THANKS TO UT BEING WET OUTSIDE. COME TO WALMART AGAIN AND NOW FIGHT BEGINS BECAUSE I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A TIRE A THIRD TIME OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AND NEED RECALLED! LUCKIKY FIRST TIME WE DIDN'T GET HURT OR CAUSE ACCIDENT WHILE DOING 70MPH ON HIGHWAY. SECOND TIME SAME TIRE LUCKILY MY SISTER NOTICED IT BEFORE WE GOT ON HIGHWAY.
LEFT CAMPGROUND PULLING PONTOON BOAT, TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES AND RIGHT REAR TIRE SIDEWALL BLEW OUT. CONTACTED TIRE INSTALLER WHO CONTACTED THEIR TIRE DISTRIBUTOR AND WAS TOLD BLOWOUT WAS RESULT OF UNDER INFLATION, EVEN THOUGH NO ONE FROM INSTALLER OR DISTRIBUTOR EXAMINED TIRE. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER VIA EMAIL AND EVEN SENT PHOTOS OF FAILED TIRE AND ONE REMAINING TIRE WITH LARGE "DENT" IN SIDEWALL AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT EVALUATE TIRES FROM PHOTOS. WE REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH NEW ONES OF A DIFFERENT BRAND.

WHILE TRAVELING ON I-75 SOUTH AND JUST BEFORE THE 333.3 MILE MARKER, A LOUD DRONING NOISE WAS HEARD. IT ALMOST SOUNDED LIKE A VERY LOUD MUSCLE CAR NEARBY. THE NOISE CONTINUED FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THEN A SUDDEN LOUDER NOISE (ALMOST LIKE AN EXPLOSION) WAS HEARD AT THE SAME TIME AS A RECURRENT THUMP AND BANGING. THE SUV LURCHED AND AFTER MANAGING TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE THROUGH MODERATE TRAFFIC, WE DISCOVERED THE LEFT REAR STEEL BELTED RADIAL HAD SEPARATED COMPLETELY FROM ITSELF INTO SHREDS AND COMPLETELY FROM THE RIM. IN DOING SO, THE RADIAL HAD EXPLODED OUTWARD AGAINST THE MUD FLAP, TEARING IT OFF AND AGAINST THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR TO INCLUDE THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOOR PANELS. THIS CONTACT WITH THE DOOR PANELS LEFT RUBBER EMBEDDED IN THE PAINT AND ALSO REMOVED PAINT ON SOME AREAS. A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED THROUGH OUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE TIRE WAS CHANGED. THE FAILED TIRE REMAINS IN OUR POSSESSION, SHOULD ANYONE WISH TO INSPECT IT. THE TIRE IS MANUFACTURED BY BF GOODRICH AND IS A LIBERATOR RADIAL MEDALIST P23575R15 108-S M+S. IT HAD LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. IT WAS SOLD TO US AND INSTALLED ON OUR SUV IN APRIL 2006 AT THE WALMART SUPER STORE TIRE CENTER ON 19TH AVE RD IN OCALA, FL. WE TRADED MICHELINS IN FOR THESE TIRES. THANK GOD IT WAS THE REAR TIRE THAT FAILED AND NOT A FRONT TIRE THAT WOULD HAVE ALMOST CERTAINLY CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT AT 70+ MPH. WE ARE VERY THANKFUL WE WERE NOT PHYSICALLY INJURED; HOWEVER, WE HAVE THREE MORE OF THESE TIRES STILL REMAINING ON OUR SUV. *JB

I BOUGHT A DODGE DURANGO LESS THAN A YEAR AGO (JUNE 2003) I HAVE SINCE THEN REPLACED A TOTAL OF 3 TIRES. TWO OF WHICH WHERE THE SAME TIRE, REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THE FIRST TIRE WAS REPLACED IN OCT"03", THEN THE SAME TIRE REPLACED AGAIN IN NOV "03". THE THIRD TIRE THAT I REPLACED WAS IN FEB "04" THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE, BUT THE RIP FOUND IN THE TIRE WAS NOT DICOVERED TILL I HAD MY TIRE ROTATION. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN TH REAR TIRE AS WELL. NOW THE ONE THAT I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED TWICE HAS BLOWNOUT YET AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME CAUSING A ACCIDENT MAY 1,2004. THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME REPLACING THE SAME TIRE ALONG WITH MY WHOLE FRONT END GETTING REPAIRED. TOTAL OF NOW 4 TIRES HAVE BEEN PUT ON THIS VEHICLE 3 OF WHICH WHERE THE SAME TIRE. CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 15MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING TIRE EXPLODED AND BLEWOUT. CONSUMER WAS IN CONTROL OF VEHICLE. GOODYEAR TIRE MECHANIC TOLD CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS A SMALL PUNTCTURE INSIDE OF TREAD OF TIRE. GOODYEAR TIRE EXPLODED, AND CAME COMPLETELY APART ON BOTH SIDES. DEALERSHIP WA SAWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
TRAVELING WEST ON I-80, APPROX. 10 MILES FROM SHARON PA. THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW UP AND SHREDDED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF AIR PRESSURE LOSS (IE; PULLING) PRIOR TO THE BLOWOUT AND UNWRAVELING OF THE TIRE. I HAD ALL I COULD DO TO MAINTAIN CONTROL AND GET TO THE RIGHT SIDE BERM. THERE WERE FIVE OF US IN THE VEHICLE. MY ISSUE IS WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER, NOT CHRYSLER CORP. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DODGE DEALER I DID NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED TIRE WARRANTY. AS AN OWNER OF A LARGE INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE REPAIR AND COLLISION SHOP, WE EXAMINED THE TIRE CLOSELY. WE NOTED A AN OBJECT APRX. 1/4" DIAMETER TAPERING TO A RELATIVE POINT THAT PUNCTURED THE TREAD OF THE TIRE. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A DRIED SMALL ANIMAL BONE. A HUNTER/FRIEND ADVISED ME IT APPEARS TO BE A SMALL BONE FROM A BIRD. WE HAVE SEEN MANY PUNCTURES, BLOWOUTS AT CITY AND HI-WAY SPEEDS, BUT NEVER A TIRE "UNWRAVELED" LIKE THIS. IT LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE ALL THE PICTURES INVOLVING THE FIRESTONE/FORD FIASCO. I AM ONLY LOOKING FOR ANSWERS. I NOW HAVE RESERVATIONS IN GENERAL ABOUT THE TIRES.
