FUEL LINES LEAK,FUEL FILTER CLOGGED, WON'T START,PAID 100.00,DLLS, TO GET FIXED, MY VAN STARTED STALLING, GOT HOME FROM WORK, NEXT DAY DIDN'T START AT ALL
MY DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2001 WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION IN OCTOBER OF 2015. I T-BONED ANOTHER CAR THAT PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS GOING 35-40 MILES PER HOUR. THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO TIGHTEN AROUND MY HIPS. BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE I SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE DAMAGES TO MY RIGHT LEG. THIS INCLUDED A DISPLACED FRACTURE, NUMEROUS OTHER FRACTURES, A CRUSHED INJURY TO THE TIBIA PLATEAU. I HAD 5 MONTHS IN REHAB, 3 SURGERIES, EXTENSIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY. I AM STILL RECEIVING MEDICAL TREATMENT A YEAR LATER. IF THE SEATBELT HAD DONE WHAT IT . WAS DESIGNED TO DO, MY LEG WOULD NOT OF HIT THE DASH BOARD. THESE INJURIES WERE CAUSED BY A SEATBELT FAILURE OF MY DODGE GRAND CARAVAN.. EXTENSIVE RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN USING THE TURN SIGNAL, THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,936.
THE CAR INSTRUMENT GAUGES BECAME ERRATIC ALONG WITH THE INSTRUMENT LIGHTS. THE CARE JERKED AS THOUGH IT LOST ITS ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE IGNITION BUT RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THEN QUIT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY A SEMI-TRUCK. I GOT THE CAR OVER AND RE-STARTED IT AND IT RAN FINE UNTIL LATER IT STARTED TO DIE OUT AGAIN AFTER STARTING TO RUN. I HAD TO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE TO GET THE CAR MOVING BUT THE CAR JERKED AND WENT DEAD AGAIN. THE CAR WILL START AND RUN FINE AT TIMES AND SHIFT WELL AT TIMES AND THEN STARTS TO REPEAT THE SAME PROBLEMS OVER AND OVER. I ONLY KNOW THAT THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE GOTTEN SOMEONE KILLED AND I DO NOT WANT IT TO BE MY CHILDREN OR WIFE OR ME. I ONLY HAVE ONE WAY TO GO NOW AND HAVE NO WAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TOLD A THOUSAND THINGS IT COULD BE AND CANNOT AFFORD NON-SENSE LIKE THIS. THIS 2001 VAN RUNS AT TIMES LIKE A BRAND NEW ONE AND SHIFTS OUT LIKE BRAND NEW AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THE GAUGES GO CRAZY, IT LURCHES AT STOPPING, GO DEAD WHEN I SLOW DOWN AT TIMES AND SOMETIMES IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS IN OVERDRIVE AND JERKS LIKE MAD, THEN RUNS FINE AGAIN. IT IS A REPEAT AND IT IS DANGEROUS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL RAIL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
PURCHASED USED MINIVAN TOOK IT TO GET REGISTERED AND FOUND OUT THE MILEAGE HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH AND ITS NOT ACCURATE. SELLER SAID IT HAD 90000 MILES ODOMETER READ A LITTLE OVER 90000 BUT MVD SAID IT WAS NOT ACCURATE. *TR
USING EITHER TURN SIGNAL CUTS OFF POWER TO THE DASH. DASH COMES BACK ON A FEW SECONDS AFTER USING. I CHECK THE LIGHTS (EXTERIOR), BUT NO BLINKING THE INTERIOR TURN SIGNALS BLINK SOMETIMES, BUT NO SOUND ANYBODY FAMILIAR WITH PROBLEM? I'VE SEEN MANY SIMILAR CONDITIONS. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT COMES ON. TURN THE LIGHTS ON AND THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT GOES OUT AND THE OTHER SIDE COMES ON. TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS, THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE OTHER SIDE GOES OUT. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER,CAUSE WAS SAID TO BE THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH SHORTED. THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH WAS REPLACED, LIGHTS WORKED PROPERLY FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS,THEN THE PROBLEM RETURNED. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.WHEN BOTH LIGHTS ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME THEY FLICKER,THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT TO WHERE ONLY ONE LIGHT IS WORKING MORE TIMES THAN WHEN BOTH LIGHTS ARE WORKING. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS EARLY AS 2005. I CONTACTED DODGE AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. ALL 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SHOULD BE RECALLED AT ONCE, BECAUSE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE LIGHTS. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE SOMEONE HAVING AN ACCIDENT WHETHER MINOR OR FATAL IN ORDER TO GET THIS DEFECT CORRECTED.WE ARE AT RISK OF RECEIVING A TRAFFIC TICKET FOR DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND OR BEING IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTING PROBLEM. WE HAVE LOST USE OF THIS FOR UP TO 3 WEEKS BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE HEAD LIGHTS,AND WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE IT AT THIS TIME. EVEN IF WE REPLACE THIS VEHICLE THE PROBLEM WOULD ONLY BE PASSED ON TO SOMEONE ELSE. ALL 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVANS NEED TO BE RECALLED AT ONCE. *TR
SITTING IDLE AT A STOP LIGHT AND MY VAN STALLED. WHILE I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN, IT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. IT WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING AND LOSE ALL POWER AND THE STEERING/ BRAKES GET HARD. IT WILL BEGIN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN WHILE THE BRAKE IS PUSHED. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED YESTERDAY AND IT IS A MELTED WIRING FUEL RAIL HARNESS THAT WAS PLACED RIGHT ABOVE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. IT CAN MELT AND CATCH FIRE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL. PLEASE HELP! *TR
WHILE DRIVING IT CUT OUT AND STALLED. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 65 MPH. THERE WAS MINIMAL FUEL PRESSURE. *TR
FUEL JUMPER HOSE POPPED OFF FROM STEEL LINE THAT COMES FROM FUEL TANK SUPPLY THE SIDE THAT KEEPS COMING OFF, IS CONNECT TO THE FUEL JUMPER HOSE FITTING TO THE FUEL RAIL V-6 3.3L ENGINE. *TR
MY VAN IS OVERHEATING. IT BROKE DOWN ON THE MASSACHUSETTS PIKE, IT THEN STARTED SMOKING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE FANS AREN'T TURNING ON WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON, AND THE AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT STAYING COOL. *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT WORK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE MIGHT BE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE CLOCK SPRING. IF A CRASH OCCURRED, THE AIR BAG COULD POTENTIALLY NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN HE APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM PIVOT BOLT WAS FRACTURED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 01V152000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER ARM) AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 171,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AND WHENEVER THE CONTACT WOULD ATTEMPT A TURN. THE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED AND LATER, THE HORN ALSO FAILED. AFTER PERFORMING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT CONCLUDED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED AND NEITHER OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
CLOCK SPRING. HORN, CRUISE CONTROL STOP WORKING. AIRBAG LIGHT ON. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE, AS WELL AS LOCAL DEALER AS A PROBLEM AND/OR A SAFETY NOR A RECALL ISSUE.
RUPTURED FUEL LINE SPRAYING GASOLINE ONTO MUFFLER. THE FUEL LINES ARE PLASTIC AND ARE ATTACHED TO THE FUEL FILTER AND ARE REPLACED TOGETHER AS A UNIT. THE PLASTIC LINE HAD A QUARTER INCH RUPTURE. THIS FILTER HAD LESS THAN 30K MILES AND WAS ABOUT A YEAR OLD. WHY DOES CHRYSLER USE PLASTIC FUEL LINE? I DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE - A WEAK INFERIOR PLASTIC OR A SHARP STONE PERHAPS. EITHER WAY, IT DOES NOT MATTER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A HARD PLASTIC USED FOR FUEL DELIVERY. THE OLD STYLE RUBBER FUEL HOSES WOULD BE MUCH BETTER AND SAFER. I AM THINKING THIS PLASTIC IS USED BECAUSE OF THE FLEX FUEL OPTION BUT I AM NOT A MECHANIC. I AM GLAD MY VEHICLE DID NOT CATCH FIRE. I WAS LUCKY. AFTER REPLACING THE FILTER WITH A NEW ONE FROM NAPA ONE OF THE FUEL LINES WOULD NOT STOP LEAKING. I HAD TO RETURN IT FOR ANOTHER NON LEAKING FILTER. BECAUSE OF THIS I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE QUALITY OF REPLACEMENT PARTS AS WELL. *TR
THE FIRST YEAR I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I HAD TO TAKE IT IN FOR FUEL ISSUES ,PAID OUT $50 THE FIRST TIME FOR DEDUCTIBLE, THEN THE SECOND YEAR $150 SAME PROBLEM, FUEL, HAD TO HAVE A NEW FUEL PUMP,NOW I HAVE HAVING MORE FUEL PROBLEMS WHICH MEANS I WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT $250 BEING THIS IS MY THIRD YEAR. NOW I WAS READING ONLINE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME RECALLS FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON DODGE CARAVANS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO, TO HAVE Y PROBLEM LOOKED AT AND FIXED WITHOUT COMING OUT OF MY POCKET A 3RD TIME FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEH FROM DRIVE TIME, THEY STATED THEY DID AN ALL AROUND INSPECTION. ALSO, MY PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL OPEN ON ITS OWN EVEN WHILE I AM DRIVING SOMETIMES. AND IT WONT LATCH ON UNTIL THE 3RD OR 4TH TRY. *TR
2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. LEFT HEADLIGHT WORKS ON LOW. RIGHT ONLY ON HIGH. RESEARCHED ON LINE AFTER SPENDING A FORTUNE BY MECHANICS WHO COULDN'T REPAIR IT. FOUND TO BE FCM. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS BUT CHRYSLER NOT FESSING UP TO ISSUE. *TR
THERE WAS NO EVENT LEADING TO THIS FAILURE, MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY ON FOR A FEW DAYS, AND NOW MY HORN AND CRUISE CONTROL DO NOT WORK. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE COME ACROSS A RECALL FOR THE CLOCK-SPRING, WHICH ONLY INCLUDES 1998-2000 MODELS. BUT HAVE ALSO READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF IT ON THE 2001 MODEL AS WELL. I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL TO DAIMLER CHRYSLER AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESPONSE YET. I HOPE IT DOES NOT TAKE A SERIOUS INJURY OR A DEATH TO HAVE THIS PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL. *TR
BRAKE LINE BURST. AFTER JUST GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY, STOPPING AT STOP SIGN AND FELT SOMETHING CHANGE. PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, HAD TO PRESS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO STOP. BRAKE FLUID POURING OUT OF REAR LEFT SIDE. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. SCARY TO THINK IF IT HAD GONE ON HIGHWAY, ESP. SINCE I HAD MY 4 YR. OLD WITH ME. REPLACED W/ DEALER PART. MECHANIC STATED THAT THE 3 OTHER SECTIONS HAVE A COATING TO PREVENT CORROSION BUT THE 4TH DOESN'T, THAT'S HOW IT COMES. SO THIS NEW PART IS SUBJECT TO FAIL AGAIN? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. HOW COMMON IS THIS REPAIR? IS THERE A DESIGN FLAW THAT COULD BE REMEDIED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES? *TR
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. AT THE SAME TIME THE SPEED CONTROL STOPPED WORKING AND THE HORN DOES NOT WORK

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VARIOUS AUTHORIZED DEALERS AND INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHERE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 10/12/11 *BF UPDATED 10/21/11
OWN A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED IMMEDIATLEY AFTER VAN PLACED IN PARK AND IGNITION TURNED OFF. ONE MONTH LATER, DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG ALSO DEPLOYED IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING PLACED IN PARK AND IGNITION TURNED OFF. NO PREVIOUS WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, ALL OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS, AND LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED AND STAYED ON. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE FLASHING BY TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND KEEPING THEM ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST INDICATED THAT THE AUTOMATIC ADJUSTING FRONT SEATS AND AUTOMATIC ADJUSTING MIRRORS WERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE AUTO ADJUSTING SEATS OR MIRRORS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
I HAVE A 2001 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SPORT AND I HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT FROM THE BRAKE LINES ROTTED AWAY TO THE ANTI FREEZE LINE ROTTED AWAY ALSO THE STEERING GETTING HARD TO WERE IT WONT BUDGE ALSO LIGHTS FLICKERING AND OVERHEATING SO THERE'S NOTHING ON MY VAN THAT ISN'T A PROBLEM I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON THESE PROBLEMS AND THEY JUST CONTINUE TO HAPPEN ANYTHING ON MY VAN THAT HOLDS FLUIDS JUST ROTS AWAY FROM THE INSIDE OUT AND NOW THE WATER PUMP HOUSING THAT'S BOLTED ONTO THE MOTOR WERE THE HOSE ATTACHES TO GOTO THE FIREWALL SO THAT YOU HAVE HEAT AND AC INSIDE THE VAN ROTTED OFF SO THERE'S A HOLE WERE THE NIPPLE WOULD BE TO CONNECT A HOSE TO AND THE DEALERSHIP WONT HELP ME IN ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM SO IM BASICALLY ON MY OWN SO I GUESS THERE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY FIX ANYTHING ON THESE VANS THEY HAVE SO MUCH CONCERN FOR THE CIVILIANS THAT BUY THERE CAR VANS EXT. THEY KEEP UP LIKE THIS EVERYONE WHO BUYS A VEHICLE FROM THEM IS CERTAIN TO DIE AND THEY WONT HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS TO SELL TO PERIOD BECAUSE THEY WILL ALL BE DEAD.... THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE STARTED SHIMMYING AND THE STEERING WHEEL. AT FIRST, IT STARTED AT ABOUT 55 MPH. NOW IT IS DOING IT AT LOWER AND LOWER SPEEDS. THERE ARE PAGES AND PAGES OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS ALSO VERY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN GOING SLOW. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND LOWER CONTROL ARM. CAMPAIGN NO 01V152000 BUT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. HOW CAN YOU CONTINUE TO LET THEM SELL DEFECTIVE VEHICLES AND NOT MAKE THEM RECALL ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES? THEY SAID THE SAME THING ABOUT MY RAM TRUCK. THERE'S A RECALL ON IT AND THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN THE RECALL, BUT IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE AIR AND HEAT GOING OUT. I WISH I HAD READ THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM ON YOUR SITE AND ON ALL THE OTHER SITES BEFORE I BOUGHT THESE LEMONS. I OWN A 2001 DODGE CARAVAN THAT I PURCHASED FROM MY FATHER TWO MONTHS AGO. LAST NIGHT I NOTICED A RUBBING SOUND WHEN I TURNED CORNERS. LOOKING AT THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL, I NOTICED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAME OUT OF THE BOLT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON RECALLS FOR THE 2001 CARAVAN I SAW THAT THERE IS A RECALL OUT TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. MY FATHER SAID HE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND HE HAS LIVED AT HIS CURRENT RESIDENCE FOR 30 YEARS. MY COMPLAINT IS HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO KNOW OF A RECALL WHEN YOU ARE NOT CONTACTED BY CHRYSLER? THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER IS 01V152000. *TR
IN APRIL OF 2009 I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WAS TIGHT AT TIMES. I CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND WHEN ADDED, THE STEERING WAS BETTER. IN COLD MONTHS IT WAS WORST. IN DEC. 2009 I HAD THE POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED. IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A YEAR. THEN IN DEC. 2010, I HAD THE POWER STEERING PUMP FLUSH. THE MECHANIC SAID TO WARM UP THE CAR BEFORE DRIVING. IT WORKED IN THE SUMMER MONTHS BUT NOT IN THE WINTER. IN JANUARY 2012 THE STEERING WAS REALLY HARD. I HAD A HARD TIME BACKING UP, TURNING EITHER WAY OR JUST DRIVING AT ALL. I GOT TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS OPINION AND THEY SAID THAT THE RACK AND PINION, STEERING RACK, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SO, AFTER CHANGING THE RESERVOIR THE RACK AND PINION STILL NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE MECHANIC SAID THEY HAVE CHANGED A LOT OF RACK AND PINION IN DODGE/CHRYSLER MINI VANS. THEY ARE NOT LASTING THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.

HEADLIGHTS, TAILLIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES ONE HEAD LIGHT WILL BE OUT, NEXT TIME ANOTHER ONE WILL BE OUT, NEXT TIME THEY WILL BOTH WORK. THERE IS NO ORDER. SAME WITH THE TAIL LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS. SOMETIMES ALL LIGHTS WORK. WE HAVE CHANGED THE LIGHT BULBS. MORE THAN ONCE. SOMETIMES THEY WORK. SOMETIMES NOT. NO CONSISTENCY. *TR

AFTER PAYING $70 TO DIAGNOSE THE DEALER TOLD US THE CLOCKSPRING WAS NOT WORKING (IT WAS "OPEN"). I SEE THAT THE PRIOR YEAR (2000) OF CARAVAN HAS THIS SAME PROBLEM. DODGE ISSUED A RECALL WITH LIFETIME WARRANTY AS THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. *TR

HEADLIGHT PROBLEM: VEHICLE HAS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. WITH HEADLIGHTS OFF, DRIVING WITH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS ONLY THE LEFT HEADLAMP IS ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED ON THE LOW BEAM ON THE RH SIDE ILLUMINATES, BUT NOT THE LEFT. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SWITCHED TO HIGH BEAM, THE LH LAMP ILLUMINATES BUT THE RH DOES NOT. REPAIR SHOP SAID IT WAS MOISTURE IN RELAY BOX, HE DRIED IT OUT FOR ME AND HEADLIGHT WORKED FINE FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS, BUT HE SAID IT WAS ONLY MATTER OF TIME UNTIL MOISTURE BUILDS UP AGAIN AND HEADLIGHT WONT WORK. HE WAS RIGHT, BECAUSE NOW NOT WORKING AGAIN. *TR
