CAR STALLS OUT OF NOWHERE AND I LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AFTER IT'S STALLED. I HAVE NEARLY GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT TWICE BUT IT HAS STALLED MORE THAN THAT. IT WAS IN MOTION FROM SPEEDS OF 25-40 MPH ON CITY STREETS. TWICE ON A TURN AND 6 TIMES GOING STRAIGHT.
THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 15 TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS. WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS BUT ONCE ON THE FREEWAY AND A FEW TIMES AT ABOUT 45 MPH, THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF -- ENGINE, POWER STEERING, BRAKES -- EVERYTHING. IT IS A MIRACLE IT HASN'T KILLED US YET. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE IT OR FIND ANY CODE THAT IS THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOT THE IGNITION RECALL AS WE HAVE HAD THAT FIXED. DURING MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER (LAKELAND CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 31 HADLEY RD, GREENVILLE, PA 16125) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
VAN WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, STARTED WASHING THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE TIRE RIM ON THE VAN AND THE VALVE STEM POPPED OFF AND THE TIRE COMPLETELY DEFLATED FROM JUST BARELY TOUCHING IT WITH A RAG!! SECOND TIRE THAT HAS DONE THIS. TWO WEEKS AGO ANOTHER TIRE WAS LOW ON AIR, STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO FILL IT UP WITH AIR AND THE VALVE STEM BROKE OFF AS SOON AS HE TRIED TO FILL IT AND COMPLETELY DEFLATED. WE HAD TO PUT A RUBBER VALVE STEM INTO THAT TIRE. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE WITH A 9, 6, AND 5 YEAR OLD RIDING IN THIS CAR. IF THE VALVE STEM BROKE THAT EASILY IT COULD'VE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WE COULD'VE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE MY CHILDREN COULD'VE GOTTEN HURT!
THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) IS EITHER DEFECTIVE, OR DAMAGED FROM WEATHER EXPOSURE. SPARATIC POWER ISSUES ARE PRESENT CAUSING ODD THINGS TO GO WRONG, FROM THE BATTERY BEING DRAINED, TO BACKLIGHT FLICKERING ON THE DASH, TO UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTING TO LOCK VEHICLE TO ONLY HAVE IT UNLOCK AGAIN, TO ALSO UPON LOCKING, HAVING THE FRONT WINDOWS RANDOMLY GO DOWN.
VEHICLE IS STALLING OUT WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE NOTICED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE VANS FROM DODGE AND CHRYSLER. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, IT STALLS IN TRAFFIC AT IDLE OR WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN IT STALLS SOMETIMES IT WILL ACTIVATEE THE ESP LIGHT AND SET OFF MULTIPLE OBD2 CODES, ORBIT WILL STALL AND NOT SET OFF ANY LIGHTS.
WHILE DRIVING AND OR COMING TO A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT THE BRAKE LIGHT ,THE SLIPPERY ROAD ICON,SPEEDOMETER JUMPS ONLY NO ACCELERATION,JUST JUMPS OTHER ICON LIGHTS AS WELL APPEAR ON DASH,OFTEN IT STALLS AT LIGHT AND IS DIFFICULT TO RESTART TYING UP TRAFFIC ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED A STALL ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I CAN LOOSED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY,I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER SHOWS A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH SENSOR ,I DID REPLACE IT YESTERDAY,9/29/17 WITH A FACTORY DUPLICATE BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. I HAVE OWNED MY DODGE CARAVAN SINCE APRIL 2016 AND HAVE NEEDED 3 EXTENSIVE BRAKE JOBS TOTALING OVER $3,000 WHICH INCLUDED NEW PADS, ROTORS AND CALIPERS. I HAVE READ ON OTHER SIGHTS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. I AM ABOUT TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE FORTH TIME AND AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS PROBLEM. I DRIVE MY FOUR CHILDREN AROUND IN THIS VEHICLE AND NEED IT TO BE SAFE. THAT IS WHY I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE. NO BRAKES ARE NOT SAFE.
AFTER DRIVING WITH VEHICLE IN PARK, TURN KEY OFF AND ENGINE KEEPS RUNNING AS SMOOTH AS NORMAL RUNNING, PULL FOBIK KEY OUT AND MOVE IT 50 FT AWAY AND VEHICLE KEEPS RUNNING.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE IN MOTION WHEN I HIT A BUMP. IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. I HAVE HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS VERY PROBLEM WAS RECALLED IN VEHICLES MANUFACTURED THROUGH MAY 2010, BUT MY VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL, AS IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN SEPTEMBER 2010. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2017 TO DECEMBER 2017 (PRESENT): MULTIPLE ISSUES RELATED TO ELECTRICAL: (1) ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH (CITY STREET, DRIVING STRAIGHT), AND LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES; (2) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON FROM SEPTEMBER 2017 TO DECEMBER 2017 (PRESENT). LIGHT OFTEN COMES ON WHEN POWER WINDOW BUTTONS ARE PRESSED; BATTERY HAS BEEN CHECKED; ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE (!) IN DECEMBER 2017 AND WARNING LIGHT STILL COMES ON; (3) WINDOWS ROLL THEMSELVES DOWN WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING; THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN WINTER AND COLD WEATHER, THERE IS NO CHANCE THE WINDOW WAS LEFT DOWN BY THE DRIVER; (4) HEAD AND TAIL LIGHTS BLINK WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING; (5) REAR SEAT POWER OUTLET NOT WORKING; (6) REAR DEFROSTER NOT WORKING; (7) SIDE MIRROR DEFROSTERS NOT WORKING. RESEARCH INTO OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS SUGGEST DEFECTIVE TIPM.
VEHICLE NOT STARTING RANDOMLY. WHEN YOU TRY TO START IT JUST CLICKS ONCE AND WON'T TURN OVER. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WILL START. I HAVE FOUND 1,000'S OF REPORTS OF THE SAME ISSUE FOR THIS SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEW HANSEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (12103 HICKMAN RD, URBANDALE, IA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIN MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 33461717. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE REAR AXLE PREMATURELY CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO DETERMINE IF THEY WOULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION. MY VAN WILL JUST SHUTS OFF WITH NO WARNING WHILE I AM DRIVING. I LOSE MY POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES AND HARD TO CONTROL. I THEN HAVE TO TRY TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND IT WILL JUST START RIGHT BACK UP
VAN WILL VERY RANDOMLY NOT START AS IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD BUT IT IS NOT. IT WILL START FINE FOR WEEKS AND SUDDENLY NOT START AND THEN START AGAIN LATER AND BE GONE FOR WEEKS AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DROVE ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER SAFELY. WHEN THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE, SHE OBSERVED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR, WHICH WAS CONNECTED TO THE STEM FRACTURED, AND CAUSED A FAST FLAT. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,400. *LN CONSUMER STATED 2 TIRES HAVE LOST THE COLLARS AROUND THE VALVE STEM DUE TO CORROSION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MILEAGE GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ACCURATE READING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLES DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (6381 AIRPORT PULLING RD N, NAPLES, FL 34109, (239) 594-2100) WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE, BUT NO FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STOPPED AND I LOST POWER STEERING. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND PUTTING IT INTO PARK I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR.

THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CHANGE THE BATTERY TERMINAL. THE CONTACT HEEDED THE DEALER'S ADVICE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.

NOW, IN ADDITION TO STALLING AT ANY TIME AND ANY SPEED, AT TIMES THE VAN WILL NOT START (WONT EVEN TURN OVER) AND THE WINDOWS INTERMITTENTLY WORK. CLEARLY IT'S A TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) ISSUE. THE KEY WILL RANDOMLY SWITCH FROM START TO THE OFF POSITION WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT WILL DO IT AT ANY RATE OF SPEED AND ON BACK ROADS OR THE HIGHWAY. IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE!!!THIS MODEL VAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL #14V373000. BUT I WAS INFORMED DUE TO IT'S "MANUFACTURE DATE" THE VEHICLE IS FINE. I CAN TELL YOU, IT IS NOT FINE.
AFTER STARTING MY VAN, I WILL TURN ON MY HEADLIGHTS AND THEY WILL FLICKER ON AND THEN OFF REALLY QUICK. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. I WILL WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND TRY AGAIN AND THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN. I CAN FLIP THE HIGH BEAMS ON AND THEY WILL FLICKER ON AND THEN RIGHT OFF. HOWEVER, THE FOG LIGHTS WILL COME ON. I CAN USUALLY SIT AND WAIT ABOUT 10 TO 15 MINUTES AND THE LIGHTS WILL USUALLY COME ON.
WE HAVE A 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SXT WITH 133,000 MILES AND SINCE THE DAY WE GOT IT BACK IN JULY ALL IT HAS DONE WHILE DRIVING IS SHUT DOWN/SHUT ITSELF OFF. LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD WILL COME ON, FLASH AND VAN WILL JUST SHUT DOWN. KEY REFUSES TO COME OUT AT TIMES, HAVE NO HAZARD LIGHTS WHEN THIS HAPPENS, AND IT CAN TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 5-30 MINUTES FOR THE VAN TO EVEN START AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS ON THE INTERSTATE AND IN THE CITY, DOESNT MATTER REALLY WHERE WE ARE, EVEN AT STOP LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS
2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 108000 MILES. AT TIME OF THIS COMPLAINT, WE HAVE OWNED VEHICLE FOR ONLY TWO MONTHS. FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND NO WARNING; ENGINE WILL STALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH AT A STOP SIGN AND ROUNDING A CURVE AT 30 MPH. NO ENGINE - NO POWER STEERING. HOPING THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY. ENGINE ALSO HAS A 'SURGE' TO IT AT AROUND 40 MPH; NOT SURE IF THE TWO ARE RELATED.
WILL NOT START, ,DIES FROM TIME TO TIME
MY 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN BEGAN HAVING ISSUES ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. THE ABS LIGHT WOULD LIGHT UP AND BEEP ON AND OFF AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM WITHOUT IT OCCURING AT THAT TIME. AS MONTHS WENT ON THE PROBLEM BECAME WORSE. ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS BEGAN TURNING ON AND OFF HEADLIGHTS WOULD DIMMER, CLOCK AND RADIO WOULD SHUT OFF. TOOK TO A FEW MECHANICS AND NONE COULD DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE BATTERY LIGHT BEGAN STAYING LIT. WE THEN REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE BATTERY CABLES. THE PROBLEMS PERSISTED, WE TOOK TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO STATED THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE VEHICLE WAS FINE FOR THREE WEEKS, THEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN ALL THE LIGHTS LIT UP, THE AIR WENT IN AND OUT, THE RADIO SHUT OFF AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE ABOUT TO TURN AT AN INTERSECTION WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VAN. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MANY DIFFERENT MECHANICS EVEN THE DEALERSHIP AND NONE OF THEM CAN DETERMINE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. THROUGH THE INTERNET I SEE THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BESIDES ATTEMPT TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE VEHICLE I BOUGHT TO TRANSPORT MY CHILDREN; I'VE BEEN PAYING FOR RENTAL CARS BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT. WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS AS I'VE SEEN FOR THIS ISSUE YOU WOULD THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR DEAD IF THEY DON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALL STAR DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM AT 11503 ST CHARLES ROCK RD, BRIDGETON, MO 63044, (314) 291-2050 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,393. UPDATED 09/01/17*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE BACK WINDOWS WOULD ROLL DOWN AND THE SLIDING SIDE DOOR WOULD OPEN AND CLOSE, EVEN AFTER THE ALARM WAS SET. *JS
AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. I COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO BRAKE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT TWICE, WITH NO EFFECT. I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE IT INTO THE PARKING SPACE. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RAN AN ERRAND. WHEN I RETURNED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING HAD STARTED WORKING AGAIN. I CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL, WHICH IS FINE. THE PROBLEM SEEMED ELECTRICAL. I HAVE NOT YET HAD A REOCCURENCE OF THIS PROBLEM. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE IMPACT THIS WOULD HAVE IF IT OCCURRED WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS.
PROBLEM WITH KEY FOB AND IGNITION SWITCH. VAN DOES NOT SHUT OFF WHEN KEY FOB TURNED TO OFF POSITION AND REMOVED. TURNED OFF AND REMOVED KEY FOB AND WAS ABLE TO PUT VAN IN GEAR AND DRIVE
THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION NOTHING WORKS AND IT IS STAYING "ON" WHEN KEY IS IN IGNITION KILLING THE BATTERY EVEN THOUGH NOTHING IS NOW WORKING. REGARDLESS IF I'M TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT, GOING UP HILL OR DOWN HILL OR ON CITY STREET, WHETHER THE ENGINE IS COLD OR HOT OR TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS HOT, COLD, OR RAINING. IT IS RANDOM, HAVING PURCHASED THIS USED VEHICLE ONLY 4 MONTHS AGO, DRIVEN LESS THAN 1000 MILES, I DON'T FEEL SAFE AS A FEMALE SENIOR CITIZEN TRAVELING ALONE ANY DISTANCE IN THIS VEHICLE, PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE DEALER REPLACE FUEL PUMP AND COMPUTER (TWICE). NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WERE TOLD A WIN OR TIPM MODULE WOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM WHICH IT DIDN'T. 2010 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN RECALL: IGNITION REPLACEMENT. THE IGNITION MOVES BETWEEN 'ACCESSORIES AND ON' CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL.
