Knocking noise from rear end reported to Chapman Ford dealership service center approximately 1 year ago, unsure of exact date. Problem was reproduced and confirmed by dealership but unknown origin. On 6/11 Chapman Ford attempted to repair by completing TSB 23-2 335 Rear Diff Drain Tube replaced with New Rear Diff Fluid Drained and filled and drain plug replaced. Drove vehicle 11 miles home from dealership. During next drive of vehicle on evening of [XXX}, while backing out of the garage the rear differential was knocking louder and more frequently. Taken back to Chapman Ford on Wednesday 6/19 as they stated Monday morning when they opened and I call that was the earliest they could inspect the vehicle. Determined the rear differential now needs completely replaced. The vehicle is available for inspection at Chapman Ford, 1255 Columbus Ave, Marysville, Ohio as it will be there for at least a week awaiting the appropriate parts. For over a year now my car has been making a chatter/shudder noise during low speed turning. The car even shut off completely on me once while turning on a busy highway. There is a recall out (21S02) for my exact car, but built between 10/29/2020-12/11/2020. My build is not within the range however after getting it inspected, I have this exact issue with my axle having lubricant below the minimal fill level. I am worried that I will lose control of my car again and end up in a life-threatening accident.
I called my local dealership to have my recall (24S24/24V267) repaired. I was told that Ford had put a "hold" on repairs for this recall. I contacted Ford and via a chat was told that they had not. Case # CXH-02187526-Q8C0H6. Ford was to forward my concerns to the dealership. I contacted the dealership back and was told that effective 05.24.24 Ford had put a "hold" on repairs for this recall. I explained that Ford was saying that they had not. I am to call the dealership back in a week to see if Ford will repair the recall.
While idling stopped at a red light the engine suddenly shut down/stalled and the electrical system simultaneously went haywire. Specifically the dashboard alert system rapidly cycled through/flashed warning alerts for the forward collision system, then “out of fuel” then a failure with the antilock brake system. At the same time the computer touch screen went black and indicated “system restart.” The dash alerts kept cycling through the same alerts mentioned above and wouldn’t stop. I tried three different times to restart the vehicle without success. Stranded on a busy roadway, two different vehicles behind us had to take evasive action to avoid hitting us from the rear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who has called back to say the engine starts fine now. They will conduct further diagnosis.
On May 25, 2024 at about 12:30 am, The vehicle suffered a classic recall 24V267000 unexpected and sudden complete loss of engine and electrical power in traffic, going into default park setting with parking brake. The vehicle could not be pushed out of traffic on a busy expressway feeder road at night. Police had to be dispatched to warn oncoming traffic of the stalled vehicle with intermittently working hazard lights. The vehicle had to be towed. Sames Ford McAllen preformed the recall reprogramming on May 31 and released to vehicle. On the first trip AFTER the BCM and PCM recall protocol had been performed the vehicle suffered the exact same failure in traffic on a busy street. The vehicle again was towed to Sames Ford, where it remains today. The recall protocol failed to remedy to serious and dangerous defect.
As detailed by others on Ford forums, my vehicle experienced a total electronic failure after a 20 minute drive with minimal electronics on. After stopping and turning the vehicle off for 10 minutes, the vehicle would not start and the lights and electronic systems were flashing erratically. There were no warning signs to this and there was no chance that the battery had died. Jumping the car did not remedy the issue. This poses a significant inconvenience and potential safety hazard to consumers.

This car was purchased at FAJARDO FORD IN PUERTO RICO. The car remains in PUERTO RICO where I am working temporarily. I gave FLA address for mailing address. This vehicle shut down while driving [XXX] taken in they did a recall. The car stopped [XXX] with witness. The car shut down on [XXX] at Fajardo Ford by parts dept, [XXX] car shut down again. I called Ford about the issue and they did the recall but they denied repairing it while in warranty because they said they could not replicate it. I am aware this is happening with other Bronco Sports. It is a computer issue. If I unplug the cable to battery and plug back on it resets and starts again. Nightmare of all my car purchases ever. The events are all the same on various dates. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I bought my Bronco back in January this year (2024) and everything worked great. Then fast forward the end of May (2024) and my car when I got in it and crunk it up told me my MyKey had been activated. I said what is a MyKey never heard of it before in my life. I did some Google searches and tried to figure out. Once I figured it and couldn't get it off of there myself I took it to a Ford dealership. They told me the MyKey had to have the admin key and they would have to cut one etc and then the labor all together would be 400 dollars. I was floored how did this even happen? Who put the MyKey on here? It restricts the speed which you can go, only allows the radio so high, and you have to be buckled for the radio to play its crazy. So I call the dealership which I bought it from, Hendrick, my car was used and had about 39k miles on it. They don't know about MyKey either they sell used cars, but their main cars are Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram. The used car guy said he would pay 200 for the key but not the labor that we had our car long enough it was time we took responsibility for it. Fast forward I reach out to Ford. The lady at Ford who said she was just a media specialist says oh just pay the money and keep the receipt. That if Ford does a recall in the future you will be reimbursed. I told her that this response was unsatisfactory as it creates a safety issue. I told her I was taking the car to Ford for recalls that needed to be fixed the next week and I would asked them how it got set. She didn't know how it got set either. The previous Ford dealership said he didn't know and that it could have been the previous owner but he couldn't confirm. So I went to the Ford dealership in Auburn this time to have the recall fixed and the lady at thr service center said yes the MyKey is only activated off the Ford app. My wife nor myself had the Ford app at the time this started which means the previous owner still had access to my key and set these limits. I was driving and the car turned off while driving without warning. Luckily I was not in an area of high traffic but if I had been then it would have caused a serious crash. Car would not start again even after being jumped. Had to have towed. Ford told me there were no recalls related to this incident when I called customer service today only to find online other owners have had serious issues similar to this as well.

Bronco was sitting at a red light and lost all power with no warning. All electrical went down including hazard lights. The bronco would not start back and to to be towed.
Driver was driving on the interstate. The car flashed several electrical system failure issues and notified that the alternator no longer functioned and that the system would then pull from the battery. The battery light came on and then flashed several warnings along with sounds. Driver was luckily able to exit the interstate and make it to a parking lot off before vehicle lost all power. Once parked and turned off, the accessories like radio and dashboard screen and lights were still functioning. The car would not start until we jumped it. Afterwards the car would not switch gears and then again flashed the electric system was experiencing failure. This and along with some whirring sounds from under the hood (what I could hear from driver seat), gave me enough reason to stop trying altogether to avoid further issues. After turning the car off, the dashboard flashed errors saying that features like electric braking, lane assist, and others were not available. Car was towed to dealership. Owners notified Ford dealership of recall # 24V267000 for the vehicle on 5/5/24. Dealership said it was not yet active recall (although issued by Ford on 4/11/2024), refused to pay for new battery and alternator needed (caused by the defunct battery- part of the recall). Owner paid out of pocket and was not reimbursed for replacement parts covered by the recall. The vehicle shutting off abruptly while driving at a high speed could have caused injuries or deaths.

A few weeks ago, my Ford Bronco Sport (Big Bend) starting jolting when I made slow turns to the right. It has since increased the jolting/seizing with a grinding noise since it began. My car has been looked at for this issue in which Chastang Ford replaced both frontal control arms stating this was causing the jolting. However, my car continued to jolt/seize on slow right turns. I took it back to Chastang Ford, and they said the RDU fluid needs replaced along with the hose. Their labor costs were high, so I got a second opinion at FireStone. The mechanic at FireStone told me the RDU needs to be assessed and gave me information about a recall for this issue. This recall is not assigned to my vehicle, but it is believed that is the problem. Reference#: 21V011000, Ford Recall#: 21S02 It was determined by the service assistance that my car didn't come from the plant this recall was initiated for, but it's still the problem. I called Legacy Ford (who I bought the car from), and they stated they would have to replace the hose and fluid. However, this wouldn't have happened if there was enough lubricant to begin with which is what this recall is addressing. I would like this issue to be addressed by NHTSA on other Ford Bronco Sports dealing with this issue as well as Ford as it is also not covered under my extended warranty.
I was driving and the vehicle cut off completely. Lost all power and brakes and steering while driving. I hit the vehicle in front of me. The car would not restart. It got towed to the dealer. It has no power. The hazard lights would not even turn on and car could not be put in neutral to move. I was on a busy road so it was very scary while waiting on a tow truck.

My son and I slowed at a light to turn right. The vehicle completely shut down in traffic. We couldn’t put the car in neutral. We couldn’t turn the hazard lights on and couldn’t jump the vehicle. Luckily we were going slow traveling approx 10-15mph. Our emergency jump machine eventually worked after about 10 minutes, but the console screen remained blank and we drove straight to the dealer, but on Saturdays they don’t have any actual maintenance. The only thing they said they can do is test the battery. After a search on the internet, this has happened to lots of people. Some 2021 Ford Bronco Sports have been recalled, but mine isn’t listed. My question to Ford is, if this is a known issue why are they risking people’s lives? Again luckily we weren’t on the highway or even busier traffic.

Dec 2023- Car was being driven at about 75mph when it quickly began coming to a stop. Took it into the dealer and they fixed something to do with a transmission switch. April 2024- Car was being driven and it came to a complete stop while in drive in the middle of the road. Nothing would work. Had to have it towed. Currently waiting updates from the dealer.
It has been over a month and there is no fix for the recall, this is extremely scary and dangerous as the car can lose power at any time.
I had driven for about 30 minutes, without turning the car off, I had just picked my fiancé up at the train and was slowing down for a stop sign. The car just stopped completely the lights flashed and powered down and I couldn’t do anything with the drive shift or even get the flashers on. Luckily we were coming to a stop anyway, but for majority of the time I was without flashers lights or anything and it was getting dark. We are in Virginia working and are usually traveling the interstate at the time but happened to do separate modes. I don’t know what could have happened had I been going 70 on the highway at night. I keep trying to start the car and was eventually able to put it in park but wasn’t able to get it into neutral or anything else. After multiple start attempts I am able to get the flashers on but as I keep trying to start it was turning the flashers off. I called for assistance through the ford app and they said it would be 2 hours before someone could come. We were able to get a jump and it came back on and when it did every single warning light was on for a moment and it went back to normal and our friend followed us over to the dealer to drop off. Before this while driving I had no errors and my app said my status was green. I had no notifications of issues from the ford app or my vehicle. Right as it was shutting down it did show a ac warning of some sort. Otherwise no errors. It is currently at a ford dealer and I am waiting to hear back with what they say.
The car completely died with no warning and no electrical systems available at a stop sign. I had to waive traffic around since emergency flashers didn't work. Tried to jump with a jumping station, and a truck with an older battery which didn't work. Only minor clicking and electrical systems turned on. Had to use a car with a brand new battery in order to get car started to drive home <1mi.
It shakes, rattles and sound like a ship yard while backing up
another Ford APIM failure. screen failure. no functionality
Back brakes make a moaning sound when backing up. A TSB has been put out but parts are never available. I have been waiting on parts since October. This has been an issue since buying the car brand new in Aug 2021.
In March 0f 2024, while traveling down the highway at 65 mph, vehicle lost power suddenly, engine shut off, and loss of power steering with no warning, no check engine lights, no change in temperature to motor. Vehicle was towed to dealership in which they advised the engine was locked up and later determined the turbo had failed, likely leading to the engine failure. The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport only had 30,000 miles so it is apparent this motor and or turbo has some type of fault. Dealership did not cover under warranty as vehicle had branded title from front bumper damage that did not effect the engine.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse(R), the vehicle made an abnormal grinding metallic sound. No warning lights were illuminated. The failure mileage was 40,000.
Our 2021 Bronco just suddenly died while driving. We were in a parking lot, moving, and it just quit. The Bronco would not restart and on the display screen it said "requires a manual start". It was not the battery, and the engine sounded like it was flooded. Thankfully, we were in a parking lot and not driving very fast. While we were waiting for a tow for over an hour, and we got the car to start and were able to drive it home. We called Ford, and their only response was if it happens again to let them know. It happened again a couple weeks later. This time while driving on a road going about 30 mph. We were lucky and able to glide into a parking lot. It was very scary because it just died. We called Ford and made an appointment to have it checked out. We were charged $1117 to replace the fuel pump ($1000 was for labor). When I questioned why a fuel pump would go bad when the vehicle is only two years old. The response was "cars aren't built like they used to be". I want our experience documented as we were very lucky that we were not injured when our vehicle died while driving. Until these incidents, there was no indication that there was anything wrong with the vehicle. We have learned that this has happened to other people as well when we Googled it. It is a huge safety concern. We now have received a Ford notice about a safety recall describing the exact issues we experienced.
One day after trying to remote start the vehicle it didn’t remote start. It was found the vehicle was not in park. This triggered the wrench warning light. Upon investigation by the dealer it was found the PRNDL was not responding. The PRNDL should put the car in park if the driver doesn’t and this time that didn’t happen. Seems like safety issue like the death that happened on a Chrysler vehicle because the car was not in park. My car had 32,000 miles and was only 3.5 years old. Seems this is a common problem when you search it on line.

I've had 3 water pumps replaced first one was right before 36,000 miles, 2 were after the bumper to bumper warranty. Had the rear drive unit replaced for grinding, that was at about 28k miles, torque converter was also replaced at about 35k miles, oil leak from my camshaft carrier gasket, thermostat housing split, battery replaced after a year. This vehicle has been nothing but issue after issue. Each time low coolant, no heat in the vehicle. No warning lamps, nothing to tell me it was low.

The contact stated that the vehicle was jumpstarted. The local dealer was contacted, and the failure was identified as a possible battery-related failure. The vehicle was diagnosed, and the battery was replaced at the owner's expense. Upon further investigation, the VIN was still under recall however, parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,426.
