Concerns a safety-related defect involving the infotainment system in my 2022 Bronco, which is directly related to an active recall and has not been properly addressed by the manufacturer or dealership. Ford issued a recall concerning the infotainment system due to a safety concern. For over a quarter, Ford had no available fix. The entire time I had my Bronco, my infotainment system repeatedly malfunctioned, required frequent resets, & ultimately failed completely. When I contacted the dealership 10/23/25, the earliest service appt was 12/17/25. Upon arrival, I was informed that the infotainment system would need to be repaired before the recall software update could be applied. I explained that the failure itself was the reason for the recall. Despite this, I was required to pay a $196 diagnostic fee to determine if the failure was recall-related. After the eval, the dealership stated the failure was not Ford’s responsibility & provided an estimate of approximately $1,672.61 w/o tax to repair the system on a '22 vehicle. This determination contradicts the stated safety basis of the recall. I contacted my insurance provider to explore coverage. The claim was denied, w/the insurer stating the issue was not caused by an accident or break-in, but was consistent w/a vehicle defect. Despite this, I was still charged the diagnostic fee. Research indicates the recall involves an electrical defect, not only a software issue. A non-functioning infotainment system impacts access to safety alerts & vehicle information, which presents a legitimate safety risk. Ford & the dealership refused to repair the system under the recall, refund the diagnostic fee, or acknowledge the failure as recall-related. I'm continuing to operate a vehicle w/a known safety defect. I'm requesting NHTSA review if recall remedies are being improperly limited, if consumers are being charged for recall-related defects , and if manufacturer &dealership practices comply w/ fed safety requirements.

I was sitting in my car and the back wind shield exploded over my dog and I. Ford was made aware of the issue, and apparently the Bronco's rods hyper extend and cause the tempered glass to break. Ford wont cover any damages done, and says it isn't covered by warranty. Although the dealership and Ford acknowledge no pressure was existenet to cause the window to burst randomly. In addition, Ford is aware the plastic placer screws in the removable hardtop is defective and cracks over time. However, they are not warrantying this repair.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 55 MPH, the electronic traction control failed causing the vehicle to become unstable and difficult to steer or control. Additionally, the braking system had malfunctioned, and the brake pedal was firm while depressed, and the driver was unable to immediately stop the vehicle. The driver was able to steer the vehicle from the middle lane to the shoulder and used the parking brake to slow the vehicle to an eventual stop. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. During the failure, the driver’s side rear axle and the rear driver’s side wheel studs and aftermarket lug nuts were damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Claim # CAS CXH-026-40233- PRE- COLLISION ASSIST(PCA) TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN PLEASE FORWARD TO CUSTOMER SERVICES Since they refused email. We have a 2024 In route to RIVERHEAD FORD and refuse to pay their $200 diagnosis fee on PCA failure. Not in OBD III plug in diagnosis no way to check if functioning. Will be reported to NHTSA. MY Broncos 2022 is still in bumper to plumber warrantee but recently with MY key not administrator key noticed the PCA was not functioning. On page 24 Bronco Quick Reference Guide states in pertinent parts: " If your vehicle is rapidly approaching a stationary vehicle, vehicle traveling in the same direction as yours or a pedestrian within your driving path, the system is designed to provide three levels of functionality. Alert; Brake Support & Active Braking" While driving an speaking to a customer service agents I tested behind a Benz at approximate 40 mph and deliberately move my Broncos MY22 less that one car length or so. NADA! NO DISPLAY! To place a pedestrian in from to test the PCA would be wrong. The limited express warrantee state no charge for warrantee service, yet a call to Riverhead Ford service agent who stated a diagnosis charge of $200 or so for one hour. The warrantee also states that power up on line modem saves are updates are no charge. Ford three customer service read " non-warrantee" Ford policy , but refused to disclose where they found that statement in warrantee . ( Attached download) Further two supervisors read same "non-warrantee" Ford statement said I must pay $200 or more for electronic software/radar type RF signaling systems like proximity sensors for diagnosis purposes. A simple drive with a car in front should when switch by touch screen from high ,moderate or low should function and save lives. It failed that test. Previously, the system function ,when a driver cut dangerous in front of me and if function on screen and I immediately braked, no so today. A non- Ford check the display a
UNKNOWN grinding sound when at idle or in/out of gear ( manual transmission) sounds like transfer case. Other owners of 2021-2023 broncos regardless of trim levels have heard this sound with their broncos as well (manual trans)

The rear backup camera intermittently is black or has the last backup image being shown. I took my Bronco into the Ford dealer where nothing could be found wrong after having my Bronco for two days. I was told if the backup camera malfunctioned happened again to take video and pictures of what happened, then bring into the dealer that day if the dealer was open so they could see if they issue remained. I did and was told by another service representative the service department couldn't take a look at the vehicle today a Friday and to bring it in Monday. When I got back my Bronco and restarted the rear camera was functioning correctly. I do have pictures and video of the last image remaining when I placed my Bronco in reverse. One image on the left side of the IMG_5347.jpeg attached shows the image of the reverse image prior to the current backup image. The right side of the picture shows the actual image in reverse. The image IMG_5348.jpeg shows the mileage and the vehicle in reverse. The pdf documents the Ford dealer service department could not find the issue that happen prior to 09/04/2024 service date. I have a video of trying to use the backup camera with the previous image shown in left side of the screen showing what happens. It doesn't happen all the time. If you turnoff vehicle and restart the issue goes away.
Break pedal feels very mushy and no breaking effect , very dangerous on highway speed for my car and cars behind me. I went to different dealers for a fix ,they all says it is normal, but it is sure not normal, I had multiple close calls. Break feel is inconsistent everyday. When I apply the break lots of deadline and no breaking effect for first few inches also pedal sinking to floor, ford and dealership are ignoring this serious safety concern. kindly do the needful, thank you
The headlight/taillights control dial switches modes and settings when entering and existing vehicle, the dial for the auto lights it will change and turn off the lights so that while you drive at night the daytime driving lights come on but there will be no rear tail lights. Creating a very dangerous driving at night with no tail lights . I have not taken it in to the dealer as it is intermittent problem and hard to recreate on demand at the dealership. The only remedy is to check the settings dial several times while driving to confirm that the headlights settings have stayed to a lights on condition.

The manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
2022 Ford Bronco Outer Banks "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" warning appears on instrument display panel intermittently. When the warning appears power steering does not work.
Steering stopped working. Took it to a Ford dealership and they have identified the problem as a broken steering gear. Other 2022 Ford Broncos were recalled for a faulty steering gear, but my VIN was not included. Seems suspicious that the same part breaks for the same year and model. Additionally, the part is on back order at Ford, so there may be a high demand for these parts because other steering gears are failing.

While on interstate 485 Charlotte NC, traveling with adaptive cruise control on at 73mph the brake light came in with a message to check brake system. I proceeded to apply the brake but was hard and unable to slow down. On my second attempt it worked then became normal. The bronco is at the dealer now for repair. And they found a faulty vacuum hose. Waiting for new hose to arrive at dealer

My vehicle was parked but left running. I went around to obtain my daughter from the rear passenger. While holding her I leaned in to the passenger front and pressed the button to turn off the vehicle when it suddenly began to roll in reverse. It's unknown to me what could have caused the incident but something failed/malfunctioned. Something within possibly the gear shifter glitched when power was cut off?

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 5,115.
During heavy rains, I noticed some water leaking through the A pillar where the air bag is housed. I am concerned that the water may damage the air bag overtime. More importantly, if the air bags are deployed in low temperature (when the water becomes ice), it may create great safety problems.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that when the front driver's and passenger's door glass were rolled down, the contact noticed a rattling sound. I live in Northern California and we have snow. I was driving after dark about 6:30PM and it was snowing. [XXX]. I was on the freeway to head to a high school performance and picking up passengers. I was on the road about 15 minutes and I was suddenly unable to see the road, it was dark and I thought my lights went off. I pulled over, with 3 passengers to find that my headlights were covered in snow and the light was not illuminating the road. I removed the snow and was able to exit at the next offramp about a half mile ahead. I stayed on the side roads that were a bit more protected by large pine trees. I was able to make it to safely, but I was at risk, with my passengers and other vehicles on the road. Thankfully, I was able to move my car later that night to get it home when it stopped snowing. I then called Ford in Auburn the next day and they said they were not aware of this issue but would see me and made an appointment. I then looked online and found many people complaining about this on many vehicles. It stems from the fact that LED lights do not emit heat. The heat is what keeps the snow from accumulating in the first place. The lights continue to be on, but you are only able to see a small glow under the snow until there is enough snow they are not seen at all. I was at the service department today at Auburn Ford that they looked at the vehicle and then looked online and can see other people with the same issue. Ford has not addressed this issue. They suggested I try Rain X or other non stick product. They said I can call ford and place a complaint and I did that today. Case #[XXX] I was then informed that I need to make a claim with the NHTSA to have this claim reviewed. I was absolutely terrified when the road went dark and I was not able to see and I could not be seen by other cars. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!! There were no warning lamps or messages, no other symptoms or failures. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The hardtop developed cracks early on during the life of the vehicle. It leaks water. It’s a known issue with Bronco owners with the factory hardtop. Some people have had it replaced more than 3 times due to the same thing continuing to happen.
There is a major lag in the time from when you hit the pedal to when you start accelerating, almost like a pause. Hesitation, long lag or dead spot in accelerating. Failed to accelerate from a stop at least 3 times.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated while driving at approximately 55 MPH, the driver's side windshield pillar trim separated from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was determined that the windshield pillar trim needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,880.
While driving on interstates 99 and Interstate 80 eastbound on 212/2024 I encountered a snowstorm with my 2022 Ford Bronco wildtrak and as I was driving I was unable to see after a few minutes in the snowstorm because my headlights were covered with snow I couldn't easily pull off on the side of the road on the highway due to all of the truck and vehicle traffic so I had to attempt to drive unsafe behind a tractor trailer until I can get to an exit to wipe the headlights off this is the second time this has happened to me as the Ford dealer said basically the LED headlights do not generate heat so you should expect to have this with every snowstorm as long as you own the vehicle I found it to be very unsafe as I had my wife and daughter in the car with me and I had to pull over approximately every three miles due to the headlights being iced over and not even ice just snow and like it was a wet heavy snow

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I had a light pop up that said “charging system service soon” so we took the vehicle in for service. Once the dealership got back to us, each of the ports on the wiring harness are corroded. The vehicle is barely over 36,000 miles and I’m already being advised to change out the entire wiring harness so there almost has to be some fault in the coverage of this equipment
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that upon placing the vehicle in reverse(R), either a blue or blank image was displayed on the rearview camera screen. The contact stated that over the past year, the contact had received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V273000 (Back Over Prevention), 25V025000 (Suspension) and 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. Front Camera sometimes malfunctions and will not display, only black screen. A recall or customer satisfactory program has been issued for rear camera, but not for front Camera. This issue could be dangerous when pulling forward from a parking spot as view is partially obstructed by large hood. The Ford dealership quoted a replacement but failed to fix or replace under warranty.
Battery charge, over heated, failed power train, and failed 4x4 happened all within seconds of each other. We were on a 2 lane hwy where there was very little room to pull off the main road. It was Christmas Eve and we were about 60 miles from home. We had to pay around $400 dollars to have it towed home and it was freezing outside while we waited.
Car was in park and on a steep incline and rolled backwards. 6 months ago it rolled forwards when in a steep incline. The parking break was also set. It still rolled and I had to jump Back into the car and step in break I checked it was in park and the parking break was on. I went into the house and my car had rolled into the ditch.
Drivers side front door window vibrates and shakes significantly when in the open half-way position or less. When driving over bumps, rough roads, offroad it is very present. Window has to remain closed or fully open position. Hall Ford Dealer in Elizabeth City NC has been aware and confirmed it's an issue but they don't have a fix for it.
The transmission has a grinding or scraping noise when clutch is not engaged. No warning lamps or messages. It has been below 50 degrees, but even after the day warms, the noise is still there. I have not taken it to the dealer yet as there are many reports from other people with the same issue and all have been told it is "normal" when it gets cold. This does not make sense. I have had manual transmissions in the past and have never heard this type of noise when it was cold.
The tow bar bent resulting in partially detaching one of the baseplates from the vehicle and damaging the bumper, intercooler, and splash shield. The bar only lasted 5 months and 5,650.6 miles of use. I asked Blue Ox to refund the money I spent on the two items and the money to fix my vehicle. They denied the claim asserting the bolts fell out - the bolts were all returned to them as part of their investigative process. If they had fallen out, I would no longer have had them in my possession to return as this failure occurred on I-95 somewhere between FL and SC.
Nearly every time I operate my vehicle I get a brake warning pop up on my instrument cluster. It definately happens every time cruise control is activated
Not exactly sure how it started to happen. Meaning there was a powertrain malfunction so my Ford computer tells me, which caused the vehicle to not restart and in addition to it not restarting, the vehicle also didn't have brakes, so it simply rolled backwards without any control until I hit a tree to stop me. On the way down, I also hit the bumper and damaged it and also hit the driver's side mirror on a rock on the way down.
Driving down the road on 10/31/23, all of a sudden the entire vehicle started to shake, then the check engine light came on, then the vehicle started shaking even worse- losing power and sputtering. Pulled over and had it towed to dealer- Buckhannon WV- they checked the compression and found nothing. I am still waiting for someone to look at the vehicle's engine to determine the issue- I have not even owned this Bronco for 3 months when this happened. It only has 24000 miles on it. It left me stranded along the highway- my friend had to come and pick me up. I currently have no vehicle to get back and forth to work. Its sad that you pay such for a vehicle so you don't have to worry about getting back and forth and now it looks like I will be waiting for months- no Bronco and no one seems to be concerned.
Upon driving the vehicle in the intended fashion for a Ford Bronco Raptor, the vehicle has an issue where when Advanced Track is set as disabled, and the vehicle is shifted in and out of park, the vehicle will then turn Advanced Track back on while still showing it as off on the dashboard. This makes it so when you're driving it in off-road situations, the system will come in making the vehicle potentially slide or stop unexpectedly in terrain, putting it into unsafe conditions. The problem can be reproduced easily, but the dealer and independent service centers refuse to test the vehicle in the state.
My bronco started having issues randomly when it went into limp mode one day. I brought it in to get fixed and it continued to happen. Ultimately, they told me that it needed a brand new engine.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that with the cruise control activated, the brake pedal failed to respond as needed with the "Check Brake System" message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact was forced to disengage the cruise control or depress the brake pedal to the floorboard. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V825000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while reversing, the back over prevention system was inoperable. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed by dealer and the manufacturer informed that her vehicle had an 8'inch screen and the software update did not apply to her vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 14,500.
I drive a 2022 Ford Bronco and I now have had to replace my windshield for a third time in 5 months from just a tiny rock hitting it. This most recent time on January 22, 2024 was a tiny rock that hit on my windshield on the lower left side of the drivers view. It made contact on the brow or bottom part of the windshield and the following morning it had grown vertically 3 inches. I went to drive to the grocery store and it was raining. The crack then grew as I was driving horizontally across the entire windshield almost reach the other edge on the passenger side of it. I do believe it’s the more straight angle of the windshield that makes it take direct impact so I am proposing Ford go to a strong gorilla glass for its windshields like Jeep did. I’ve heard from a few Bronco owners and Ford employees this has been an issue. Can you please look into this as I don’t think Ford Bronco owners should be punished with constant windshield repairs.
Ford is experiencing a problem under normal driving conditions on multi year Broncos (21' to current) that have very limited miles - with regards to the front pinion seal leaking badly (noticed during a routine oil change) and it appears to be IMHO a design flaw that not only impacts the seal but also the front differential, internal parts and possibly the axle. Any disruption to the drive train has the potential beyond just rendering the vehicle inoperable,..while driving in 2 or 4WD conditions, the impacts could be widespread. IMHO, Ford needs to look at the design and redesign and test. This has also happened multiple times on the same vehicle (from Bronco6G forum reports). In addition to the recall - Ford should immediately publish a TSB on this as wel
My 2022 Manual transmission has been making a scraping sound when cold since I bought it. I've had 2 dealerships not do anything about it and I feel for paying $65,000 for a vehicle, it shouldn't be making this noise and it could be a safety concern.
Hard top rear section delaminating due to unfinished edges allowing moisture to enter ford offered to cover all but $1200.00 being the vehicle now has over 40000 miles believe it's a manufacturer defect should cover all cost
4 door hardtop roof leaks. It is available. There is nowhere, including Ford website, to report non-safety defects.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while stopped, the contact noticed that the vehicle would not move after it had gotten towed. the wrench and service engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the transmission independently engaging and the transmission had overheated fluid, the transfer case had failed as well. The vehicle had been replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
