TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS REGARDING AN IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE FOR OWNERS OF VEHICLES WITH TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS. I CONTACTED WESTWAY FORD IN IRVING TEXAS AS MY FORD EDGE CAME UP AS ONE OF THE VEHICLES IN THE RECALL OF THE AIR BAGS. THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER FROM FORD WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. HOW DO I GET THIS ISSUE RECTIFIED ASAP? MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THE VEHICLE.

TAKATA RECALL, I CAN NOT FIND A DEALER WITH THE REPLACEMENT PART. FORD STATES NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE YET I HAVE A FAMILY AND THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION!
PTU HAS OVERHEATED CAUSING THE OIL INSIDE TO BECOME BLACK AND GUMMY, ALSO CAUSING ONE OR BOTH SEALS TO FAIL LEADING TO THE UNDERCOATING OF THE VEHICLE TO BE COVERED IN BLACK THICK OIL. THIS WAS NOTICED ONLY AFTER A 200 MILE RUN ON THE INTERSTATE IN THE WINTER OF 2017, 65-80 MPH... WE HAVE SINCE FOUND THAT NUMEROUS OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS GENERATION OF AWD PTU'S AND IS A ENGINEERING ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE
HAD A RECALL AND THEY HAVE YET TO REPAIR DEFECTIVE PART AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. IF THEY CAN BUILD NEW CARS WITH THESE AIRBAGS THEN THE FACT THEY CANNOT FIX THIS IS APPARENTLY ON PURPOSE. I FEEL A CLASS ACTION SUIT IS THE ONLY REMEDY AVAILABLE TO CONSUMERS.

THE TAKATA RECALL HAPPENED WELL OVER A YEAR AGO BUT WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A FORD RECALL SO IN THE MEANTIME OUR DAUGHTER CONTINUES TO DRIVE WITH THIS DANGEROUS AIRBAG. WHY IS IT TAKING FORD SO LONG TO PERFORM THE REPLACEMENT OR ARE THEY EVEN RECALLING ANYTHING AT THIS POINT?

I HAVE CALLED ON MANY OCCASIONS AND WENT TO DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE MY 2008 FORD EDGE AIRBAGS REPLACED EACH TIME I'M TOLD THT THERE ARE NO PARTS. I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE OF THE DANGER THIS UNFIXED PROBLEM PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY INTO.
TAKATA RECALL FORD DEALERSHIP SOLD THE VEHICLE KNOWING THE FAULTY AIR BAGS WERE INSTALLED. THEY HAVE FAILED TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES TO SCHEDULE REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND IGNORE MY REQUEST EACH TIME TO HAVE THE AIR BAGS REPLACED.

TAKATA RECALL THERE IS A RECALL BUT NO REMEDY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE WRENCH ICON AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO WORK AND THE VEHICLE GRADUALLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE SPEED ON THE ODOMETER AND THE TACHOMETER WAS INCORRECT. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF, AND TURNED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY RESTARTED AND THE SPEED AUTOMATICALLY INCREASED FROM 0 TO 70 MPH. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO REDUCE THE SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED THIS RECALL NOTICE WAY OVER A YEAR AGO, AND HAVE BEEN RELUCTANT T O TRAVEL WITH SOMEONE IN THE FRONT, PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR SINCE READING THAT IT CAN POTENTIALLY EXPLODE IF THE AIR BAGS WERE TO BE DEPLOYED. LIKE I SAID, I GOT THIS OVER A YEAR AGO AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM FORD (I EVEN CALLED MANY TIMES)... AND A YEAR SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,180.
TAKATA RECALL - AS OF TODAY THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE MANUFACTURER TO PROVIDE THE REPLACEMENT PART. I AM FEARFUL OF AN UNINTENDED INFLATION OR FAILURE TO DEFLATE IN THE INSTANCE OF A CRASH.

I CALL BOB THOMAS FORD AND THEY HAVE NO AIRBAGS FOR THIS VEHICLE AND TOLD ME JUST TO WAIT UNTIL FORD DECIDES WHAT TO DO. THE COMPANY TAKATA HAS GONE BANKRUPT, SO NOW WHAT DO I DO. WHAT IS FORD GOING TO DO?
TAKATA RECALL. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT TAKEN ACTION TO ADDRESS THIS RECALL AND MY AIRBAGS HAVE NOT YET BEEN REPLACED ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL.
TK HOLDINGS IS ASKING TO CONTACT DEALERSHIPS TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS YET WHEN I CALLED THEM THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THERE IS NO PARTS FOR THE REPLACEMENT
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN CLOSE TO 18 MONTHS SINCE THIS RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE STATED THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENTS IN STOCK YET. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SINCE THIS AIRBAG CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.

AS A RESULT OF THE RECALL & CHPT. 11 FILING, (TK HOLDINGS INC.) I CALLED LOCAL VEHICLE DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT A REPLACEMENT AVAILABLE. THEY HAD NO OTHER INFORMATION ON SUBJECT. THEY SUGGESTED I FOLLOW THOUGH WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON CHAPTER 11 NOTICE. I EXPECT A FROM TK HOLDINGS A FREE REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT.
WAS ON STATE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ODO DATA ERROR CODE CAME ON AND WRENCH LIGHT LOST POWER, RPM WORKED SEMIS BEHIND ME WAS SCARED I COULDNT GET OVER WITHOUGHT GETTING HIT. FINALLY GOT PULLED OVER WENT TO PUT CAR IN PARK GOT OUT CHECKED TRANNY FLUID WAS FINE. GOT BACK IN SHIFTED IN REVERSE HARD SHIFT FELT LIKE TRANNY FELL OUT SAME IN DRIVE NO POWER. TURNED CAR OFF LET SET A FEW MIN AND BACK ON LIGHTS WENT OFF WENT TO TAKE OFF SHIFTED A LITTLE EAISER LITTLER POWER TAKING OFF AND A HARD SHIFT AS CAR FINALLY SHIFTED AND GAINED SPEED. THEN CAR SEEMS FINE. WENT TO DRIVE IT A COUPLE HOURS LATER SEEMS FINE BUT SHIFTED HARD A COUPLE TIMES LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DO IT AGAIN SO CAME BACK HOME. I READ ONLINE ALOT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM I HAVE A TODDLER AND THIS COULD OF BEEN A BAD SITUATION LOSING POWER LIKE THAT IN A BUSY STATE HIGHWAY. HAD MY BROTHER HOOK CAR UP TO COMPUTER CANT PULL ANY CODES AS IT RESETED SO I DONT KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR AS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STALLS OUT, U PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE TRUCK DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED, I TURN THE IGNITION ON AND IT DOESN'T START, IT CUTS OFF IN THE MIST OF DRIVING AND TURNING...VERY DANGEROUS THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND IT SHOULD NOT EXPIRE I HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME!!!!

THIS HAS BEEN ON THE RECALL PAGE SINCE 2016 AND WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE TO GET THIS FIXED. I AM AFRAID THAT IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT THAT WE WOULD BE HARMED BY THIS AIRBAG.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER YESTERDAY, FROM THE FORD MOTOR CO. THE LETTER CLEARLY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE TAKATA RECALL, BUT TO CALL THE DEALER AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED. AFTER READING THIS LETTER, I WENT ONTO THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND INPUT THE VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE, AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. FORD MOTOR CO HAD MISREPRESENTED THE FACTS, AND I NEARLY THREW THE LETTER IN THE TRASH BECAUSE IT STATED MY VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER THE RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE HAD A RECALL LETTER FROM FORD SINCE JULY 2016 AND CANNOT GET THE RECALL COMPLETED. LOCAL DEALERSHIP NOW CLAIMS THAT I WILL BE AT THE END OF THE PROCESS BECAUSE OF LOWER HUMIDITY HERE THAN OTHER AREAS WHERE RECALL NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED. DEALERSHIP ALSO CLAIMS REPLACEMENT FACTORY (TO MAKE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG SYSTEM) BURNED DOWN. I HAVE NOT HAD A WRECK TO CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, BUT AM WORRIED ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THIS IS NOT REMEDIED SOON. I HAVE NOW RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES TO HAVE THE RECALL DONE AND THEY TELL ME THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILIBALE YET. I WANT THE AIRBAGS REPLACED BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS. WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM? CAN YOU HELP?
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. I GOT IN THE CAR AND STARTED IT. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO GO AND THE CAR JUST STARTED TO ROLL, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY AIRBAG AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD NO SPEEDOMETER OR TACHOMETER READING. EVENTUALLY AS THE CAR WAS ROLLING THE ACCELERATOR WOULD START TO WORK. I GOT TO A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, AGAIN THE CAR WOULD JUST ROLL AND THEN AFTER A FEW FEET THE ACCELERATOR WOULD START TO WORK. I PARKED THE CAR ALONG A CURB AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN. AS I SHIFTED FROM PARK TO REVERSE THERE WAS LOUD CLUNK. THERE WAS ALSO A LOUD CLUNK WHEN I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND TO DRIVE. THE LIGHTS THAT HAD SHOWN UP ON THE DASHBOARD WERE NOW GONE AND MY SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER WERE SHOWING AGAIN. I WENT TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR DROVE FINE. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THE MECHANIC SAID ACCORDING TO THE "CODE" THAT SHOWED UP WHEN THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE MACHINE, THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE THE SPEED SENSOR.
