ALTHOUGH THE DOORS ARE CLOSED ON MY 2011 FORD EDGE THE "DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN" WARNING APPEARS ON DASHBOARD. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK FROM THE INSIDE, MAKING THINGS DANGEROUS IN THE EVENT OF A CAR-JACKING. FORD CLAIMS THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND WANTS A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH WE HAVE DISCOVERED IS WIDESPREAD. IT IS AN INHERENT FAULT WITH THE FORD EDGE IRRESPECTIVE OF YEAR. *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON AND THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. AT THE CURRENT TIME, THIS IS INTERMITTENT BUT ONLINE RESEARCH SAYS MANY SIMILAR CARS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BEGINNING AT ABOUT 41,000 MILES. WHY IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE? THE MAIN REASON IS CARJACKING! ALSO YOU CAN NOT LOCK ALL FOUR DOORS AND TAIL GATE AT THE SAME TIME. TO MANUALLY LOCK ALL DOOR FROM THE INSIDE BY THE DRIVER ALONE IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR US OLDER FOLKS. I HAD NEARLY BEEN A VICTIM 50 YEARS AGO, ONLY TO HAVE PREVENTED IT, BY MANUALLY LOCKING MY DOOR EVERY TIME I ENTERED. THE MAN WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF WITH HIM HOLDING THE DOOR HANDLE UNTIL HE LET GO!. ALSO THE EDGE DOORS WILL NOT AUTO LOCK WHEN YOU REACH THE SPEED OF ABOUT 9 MPH WITH THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON. *TR
WHILE DRIVEN I HAD A MESSAGE ON MY DASH BOARD THAT MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPEN. ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS COMES ON . I CHECKED AND ALL DOORS WERE CLOSED AND SECURE. THIS MALFUNTION STILL UP TODAY AND HAPPEN ALMOST EVERYDAY DURING DAY AN NIGHT TIME. DURING NIGHT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECSUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE CLEARLY OUTSIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DOOR LATCH INDICATOR FRACTURED, THE DOME LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF, AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHILE DRIVING 25-40 MPH, THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE, NO ACCELERATION AT ALL. "YELLOW WRENCH" LIGHT CAME ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I WAS STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION, MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS TWO LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND I COULD NOT MOVE THE CAR. THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OFF OR STALL. I JUST HAD NO POWER OR ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO ROLL INTO A SAFE SPOT, OUT OF TRAFFIC AND HARMS WAY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES TO RESTART. WHEN I RESTARTED IT, THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE CAR RAN FINE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE, TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW, SO I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AND WANTED ME TO JUST TAKE IT AS IS. I MENTIONED THAT I HAD READ ABOUT ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, AND THEY SAID IT SEEMED FINE. HOW CAN THEY ALLOW ME TO TAKE A CAR THAT IS SO UNSAFE TO DRIVE? I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT, AND THE PERSON THAT HIT ME COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS, REGARDING AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS PROBLEM, AND THEY WERE REQUIRED TO DO A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM;. BUT MY VIN DID NOT FALL INTO THIS PROGRAM. I PAID TO HAVE THE ETB REPLACED, OUT OF POCKET, AND AM HOPING THAT THIS IS THE PROBLEM. VERY UNSAFE SITUATION TO BE PUT IN BY FORD. *TR

DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON. HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY ON 2011 FORD EDGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOWN HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATED RANDOMLY AND FAILED TO DIM. IN ADDITION, THE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
MY 2011 FORD EDGE CURRENTLY HAS 59000 MILES ON IT. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECKED OUT. THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED IN WARRANTY AND THAT THERE IS A TSB ON IT- TSB-14-0083. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I AM NOT ABLE TO LOCK MY DOORS PROPERLY IN THE VEHICLE. MY ALARM WILL RANDOMLY GO OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BECAUSE ITS SENSING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT ISN'T. I WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE THIS REPLACED WHEN IT IS VERY EVIDENT THAT THIS IS A "KNOWN ISSUE" AS MY SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES THAT ARE PRESENTED WHEN YOU CAN'T LOCK YOUR DOORS. *TR
NEED SOMEONE TO KNOW ABOUT THIS CRAZINESS. DAYS AFTER A FULL DETAILING AND REPLACED BATTERY THAT THE DEALER SAID NEEDED REPLACING, GOT THE BLIND SPOT AND CROSS TRAFFIC WARNING FAULTS, AT FIRST OCCASIONALLY, THEN WITHIN A WEEK EVERY TIME THE CAR WAS DRIVEN. SOON THE NAVIGATION INDICATED A FAULT AS WELL. A FEW DAYS LATER, IN THE MORNING FOR SCHOOL DROP OFF, EACH OF THESE FAULTS ALERTED, THEN THE HEAT STARTED BLASTING. TURNED THE CLIMATE CONTROL TO OFF AND STILL BLASTING - HOT. GOT TO THE SCHOOL TO LET THE CHILD OUT AND THE POWERED DOOR LOCKS WEREN'T WORKING. THANKFULLY THERE WAS A KNOB TO MANUALLY PULL UP BECAUSE I COULDN'T LET HIM OUT OF THE CAR. WENT STRAIGHT TO DEALER WITH HEAT STILL BLASTING, THEY "RESET" SOMETHING AND IT SEEMED BETTER. THEN IT ALL STARTED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. SOMETIMES DOOR LOCKS WORKED, SOMETIMES NOT. SOMETIMES HEAT WOULD BLAST, SOMETIMES COOL WOULD BLAST, ALL WITH CLIMATE CONTROL OFF. ADDITIONAL FAULT STARTED FOR FRONT COLLISION WARNING. DEALER AGAIN, COULDN'T REALLY FIGURE IT OUT (NEVER CONNECTED IT TO NEW BATTERY, INCORRECT INSTALLATION, OR SOMETHING IN DETAILING), BUT THEN NEEDED TO ORDER A PART. BACK WHEN PART CAME IN, TOOK TWO DAYS (HAD TO GET RENTAL CAR - FORTUNATELY COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY) BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT. REPORTED FINDING SOME "SINGED WIRES" UNDER THE DASH. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE - LIKE THE CAR WAS POSSESSED. NEED TO KNOW I CAN TRUST MY CAR TO DO WHAT I EXPECT, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE CAR WAS FAR FROM CHEAP AND HAD ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. SO FAR SO GOOD WITH FIX, EXCEPT DRIVERS DOOR DINGS WHEN OPENED WITH THE CAR OFF (DIDN'T USED TO) AS IF THEY KEY IS IN THE IGNITION, BUT THERE IS NO KEY - INTELLIGENT ACCESS FOB AND PUSH BUTTON START. HAVE THE FANCY FEATURES ON CARS BEEN RUSHED TO MARKET WITHOUT MAKING SURE THEY OPERATE DEPENDABLY FIRST AND WITHOUT TECHNICIANS TRAINED TO UNDERSTAND THEM AND FIX THEM? *TR
THE 'DOOR AJAR' WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED (PARTICULARY OCCURS WHEN ENTERING THE DRIVER DOOR). *TR
AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE UP, WAS HEADING HOME FOR THE EVENING AND TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN, WENT TO GO AND THE CARS BEHIND ME BECAME INPATIENT. THE FORD EDGE WAS ROLLING THROUGH THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AT LESS THAN @ 5 MPH. AFTER CLEARING THE TRAFFIC LIGHT INTERSECTION I WAS ABLE TO GET THE 2011 FORD EDGE INTO A THE NEAREST NEIGHBORHOOD. THIS WAS AT NIGHT TIME WITH MY THREE(3) YEAR OLD GRANDSON WITH ME. TOW TRUCK WAS DISPATCHED AND TAKEN TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHICH HAPPEN TO BE THE ONE THE FORD EDGE WAS PURCHASED FROM ON AUGUST 8, 2015. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY DAUGHTER SO THAT SHE COULD HAVE A RELIABLE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR HER AND MY GRANDSON.WORK ORDER # 98983 FROM "DICK SMITH FORD" DATED JANUARY 5, 2015 AT A COST OF $95.00, AND THIS IS WITH ME HAVING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION AS TO THE "THROTTLE BODY" BEING DEFECTIVE. I WAS INFORMED VIA E-MAIL THAT (NO RECALLS) HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE 2011 FORD EDGE. ON JANUARY 6, 2015 WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS ON HER WAY TO WORK AT FORT JACKSON DURING THE 7:00 AM TRAFFIC AGAIN DEAD PEDAL WITH THROTTLE BODY. I NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION AGAIN, VIA E-MAIL AND TELEPHONE. I MADE IT CLEAR THAT I VALUE THE LIFE OF MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDSON AND IF THEY SHOULD HAVE A DEAD PEDAL WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT GREATER SPEEDS, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE VEHICLE BEHIND THEM WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION, THEN WHAT. THAT'S WHEN CORPORATION WILL FIND THAT IT COST EFFECTIVE TO PAY OUT FOR A DEFECT ITEM ON A VEHICLE INSTEAD OF FIXING AS NEEDED SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. CASE NUMBER WITH FORD MOTOR CORPORATION IS # { [XXX]}. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A NEW "THROTTLE BODY" THAT I HAD ORDERED FROM A DEALERSHIP IN CAROLINA, PUERTO-RICO. UPON ENTERING THE 2011 FORD EDGE I CLOSED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AFTER I STARTED THE CAR. I OPENED AND CLOSED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. I PUSHED THE OK BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND TRIED TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 3-5 TIMES A WEEK. *TR
I GET A DOOR AJAR WARNING WHEN THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED; THE LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF, NOR THE DOORS LOCK. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE WITH THE DOORS NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK. PLUS IT DOESN'T HELP THE BATTERY LIFE MUCH EITHER. *TR
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS STAY ON EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE CLOSED. RESULT IS THAT THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND UNABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE DRIVING EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE CLOSED. HAS CAUSED A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY, DEALER WANTS A LARGE SUM OF MONEY TO REPLACE THE LATCH EVEN THOUGH IT'S CLEARLY A SENSOR ONLY.
FOR THE THIRD TIME THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED WHILE THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND PRESUMED LOCKED. THE DEALER MADE REPAIRS THE FIRST TWO TIMES AND NOW IS CHARGING ME AGAIN FOR THIS THIRD OCCURRENCE OF THE SAME ISSUE STATING THEY PREVIOUSLY ONLY CLEANED THE PART WHICH IS NOW DETERMINED TO NEED REPLACEMENT. MY TEENAGER OFTEN DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE DRIVER DOOR IS CLOSED OR LOCKED BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT IN THE WARNING SYSTEM. IT IS ABSURD THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AS THE SALESMAN TOLD ME IT WAS AT TIME OF PURCHASE. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ISSUE LEAD TO DRAINED BATTERY - CAR APPEARS NOT TO HAVE A BATTERY SAFETY FOR DOOR AJAR. LEAD TO UNSAFE CONDITION NOT BEING ABLE TO USE WHEN NEEDED. COULD BE DANGEROUS IF CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN REMOTE OR IN UNSAFE AREA. REPAIRED FOR OVER $400.
I PURCHASED MY CAR 9/23/14. MY PASSENGER AND LEFT REAR DOORS CONTINUE TO INDICATE DOORS AJAR WHEN THEY'RE INDEED CLOSED. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO REPLACE MY BATTERY TWICE IN 2YRS. EXTREMELY COSTLY AND FRUSTRATING! BECAUSE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, IT'S DRAINING MY BATTERY!!! WE AS CUSTOMERS NEED FORD TO DO THEIR PART AS A REPARABLE MANUFACTURER AND TAKE CARE OF THIS GROSSLY DEFECTIVE PART! I'M A WOMAN AND A MOTHER, THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN BEING STRANDED BC YOUR DOOR LIGHT WON'T GO OFF, YET AGAIN DRAWING THE BATTERY. THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS! THE DOORS WONT EVEN LOCK BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. IT'S BAFFLING THAT FORD DOESN'T SEE THIS AS A DANGER TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. AT THIS POINT I WON'T EVER BUY ANOTHER FORD NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE ELSE!!

IT IS ALWAYS ON. -AS SUCH, THE INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON THE IN CAR MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE AND HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. -I HAVE THE INABILITY TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE IN THE VEHICLE ANOTHER VERY UNSAFE ISSUE WHEN IN CERTAIN AREAS OR AT NIGHT. -THE LATCH IS FAULTY AND I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF OTHERS ONLINE WHO HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH FORD EDGES. CAN OCCUR WHEN PARKED (FIRST STARTING CAR) OR DRIVING. CAN TEMPORARILY OVERRIDE ISSUE BY PRESSING OK BUTTON, BUT CAN/WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. VERY ANNOYING AND IS A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING (KINDA STARTLING/DISTRACTING) ESPECIALLY IF IT OCCURS AT NIGHT (DOME LIGHT IMPAIRS VISION). *TR
I ENTER THE VEHICLE, STARTED THE CAR AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON. I OPENED DOOR AND CLOSED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT TO GO OUT. NOW I JUST DRIVE IT WITH THE LIGHT ON, DON'T WANT TO ABUSE THE DOOR. WHEN I PARK THE CAR THE LIGHT STAYS ON FOR A LONG TIME. EVENTUALLY THE DOME LIGHT, EXT. YELLOW LIGHTS AND EXT. REAR VIEW MIRROR DOWN LIGHTS WILL GO OUT. WHILE DRIVING THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK. CAN BE DRIVING FOR A LONG TIME AND THE LOCKS WILL FINALLY ENGAGE. (HOUR)CONCERNS ARE DRIVING THROUGH FLINT WITH THE DOORS UNLOCKED AND A DEAD BATTERY FROM INTERIOR LIGHTS NOT TURNING OFF. *TR
COMING OUT OF AN UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED AND I RECEIVED AN ORANGE WRENCH ERROR MESSAGE STATING AWD OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN A DRIVABLE GEAR. I HAD TO DRIFT TO A SPOT WHERE I COULD BE OUT OF THE LINE OF TRAFFIC, AT WHICH TIME I STOPPED THE VEHICLE/BRAKEDP; SHIFTED INTO PARK, AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. UPON RE-STARTING THE VEHICLE, IT APPEARED TO RESOLVE. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I RECENTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD SERVICE DEPT AND THEY RESET THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER AS I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING SLIPS OR ROUGH STARTS WHEN DRIVING/ACCELERATING OVER THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. THE INCIDENT DESCRIBED ABOVE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 2.5 WEEKS AFTER THAT SERVICE VISIT. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS STATING DOOR AJAR AT ALL TIMES
2011 FORD EDGE SEL I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AND WON'T GO OFF IT HAS KILLED THE BATTERY TWICE NOW. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, SENSOR LIGHT READS DOOR AJAR AND WILL NOT ALLOW DOOR TO BE LOCKED. I HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR A DOZEN TIMES FOR IT TO CATCH EVERY TIME I ENTER. LIGHTS IN CAR STAY ON AS A RESULT DRAINING MY BATTERY. SAFETY HAZARD AS I AM UNABLE TO LOCK MY DOORS. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING & DANGEROUS AS I TRAVEL ALONE QUITE FREQUENTLY. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS DEFINITELY CLOSED. CAR DOES NOT THINK SO. DASH WARNING LIGHT IS ON. DOME LIGHTS ON. WHEN USING THE CLICKER TO LOCK THE DOORS THE HORN BEEPS A COUPLE OF TIMES. WEIRD STUFF. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE SAFETY PROBLEMS OR NOT. THIS EDGE ALSO HAS BACK BRAKE PROBLEMS. THE BACK ROTORS AND BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TWICE ALREADY DUE TO CORROSION. BAD DESIGN. THEY GET REALLY HOT AND MUST BE SLIGHTLY IN THE BRAKING POSITION THEN UNTIL CHANGED. WINTER IN MINNESOTA - SALT AND FORD'S BETTER IDEA. ONE MORE THING: WHEN WE CHANGE THE TEMPERATURE SETTINGS THE COMPUTER THINGS WE WANT AIR CONDITIONING. THIS CAUSES THE WINDOWS TO COMPLETELY FOG OVER UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS TALKS WITH FORD MOTORS ABOUT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. THEY DO NOT GET IT AND BASICALLY BLOW US OFF BECAUSE OF COST OR LACK OF UNDERSTANDING. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS FILED. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ADJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS FULLY CLOSED. WHEN THIS MALFUNCTION OCCURS, THE INTERIOR OVERHEAD LIGHT REMAINS LIT FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND IT CANNOT BE DISABLED. THIS IS ESPECIALLY PROBLEMATIC DURING NIGHT DRIVING, BECAUSE IT MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AND SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT WHILE THE LIGHT IS ON. THE FIRST TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, FORD CLEANED THE CONTACTS AND IT FIXED THE ERROR FOR 6 MONTHS AND THE REPAIR WAS $148.50 WHEN IT APPEARED AGAIN, FORDS SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY AND THE COST OF THIS 2ND REPAIR WAS $340.00. NOT ONLY HAVE THESE BEEN EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, IT MUST BE COMPLETED BECAUSE IT CREATES A DANGEROUS DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND THERE IS NO WAY TO DEACTIVATE THE SENSOR. THIS IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH HAS A SWITCH TO INDICATE IF THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED. THIS SWITCH IS FAILING AND INDICATING THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR REGARDLESS OF THE ACTUAL STATUS. THIS PREVENTS THE ABILITY TO LOCK THE CAR DOORS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AND OBSCURES ALBEIT DOES NOT PREVENT THE ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE OTHER OPEN DOORS. DEALER INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. *TR

CALLED FORD AND THEY WERE NO RECALLS BUT IF YOU LOOK ON LINE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHICH CAN CAUSE SOMEONE'S LIFE! I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BY FORD. I CALLED FORD AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER [XXX] THE PART (THROTTLE) COST 600 TO FIX SINCE IT WAS NOT COVERED. I HOPE THAT THERE IS NO FATALITIES WITH THIS ISSUE BEFORE FORD RECOGNIZES IT! NHTSA SAYS IT DOESN'T KNOW OF ANY RELATED CRASHES, BUT ONE PERSON REPORTED THEY SUFFERED INJURIES DUE TO THE PROBLEM. 5. IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY HAZARDS CAUSED BY THE LIGHTS, OWNERS SAY THEY HAVE BEEN FORCED TO PAY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX PROBLEMS THOSE OWNERS BELIEVE SHOULD BE FIXED UNDER A FORD RECALL. HOWEVER, ONE EDGE OWNER SAID SHE WAS TOLD BY FORD THE VEHICLES HADN'T BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE THERE HADN'T BEEN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS. PLEASE NOTE WE WERE GIVEN A VERY HIGH DISCOUNT ON THE REPAIR WE WERE ORIGINALLY QUOTED $550.00!! 6. MY DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. I DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO IT; HONESTLY JUST THOUGHT IT WAS A SENSOR AND I WOULD TAKE IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT. EVENTUALLY THE LIGHT STAYED ON ALL THE TIME, AND EVEN MADE MY INTERIOR LIGHT STAY ON AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK, AND IT IS NOT THE DOOR SENSOR, BUT THE DOOR LATCH. THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY.
WHEN ACCELERATING, YOU CAN FEEL THE DRIVERS AND/OR PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SHIFT BACKWARD. WHEN STOPPING, YOU CAN FEEL THE DRIVERS AND/OR PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SHIFT FORWARD. I HAVE QUESTIONED THIS AT THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT RESOLUTION. I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO TIGHTEN DOWN THE SEATS. I DON'T FEEL THIS EXTRA PLAY IN THE SEAT IS SAFE IN THE EVENT OF A WRECK.
