SLOWING AT A STOP AND DEPRESSED BRAKES. BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD TO PUSH VEHICLE ROLLED THROUGH STOP. LET OFF BRAKE AND DEPRESSED AGAIN AND BRAKES SLOWLY ENGAGED. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET HOME TO PARK VEHICLE. DID NOT HAPPEN AT HIGHER SPEEDS ONLY 30MPH AND BELOW. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, OK. PULLED WHEEL AND BRAKE PADS WERE FINE. WILL BE CONTACTING DEALER TO SEE IF SERVICE ADVISOR'S HAVE BEEN ISSUED. *TR
HAD A DOOR AJAR FAULT(DRIVER DOOR). OPENED AND CLOSED DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, WOULD NOT GO OUT. YOU CAN NOT LOCK THE DOORS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS FAULT OCCURS EACH TIME WE DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE CAR DOES NOT DETECT THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND THE "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING CONTINUES TO SOUND EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS ACTUALLY IN PARK.
DRIVER-SIDE DOOR SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND THE "DOOR AJAR" WARNING NEVER TURNS OFF.
DRIVER DOOR CLOSE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. DOOR SENSOR HAS DOOR OPEN WARNING LIGHT WHEN DOOR CLOSED. DOOR SENSOR CAN FAIL WHILE DRIVING AND UNLOCK DOORS. OPEN DOOR SENSOR KEEPS INTERIOR LOP IGNITE ON AND DRAINS BATTERY. DOOR SENSOR KEEPS INTERIOR LIGHTS ON AND/OR TURNS LIGHTS ON WHEN IN MOTION.
DOOR LATCH AJAR SWITCH LIGHT SAYS PASSENGER DOOR IS NOT CLOSE WHEN IT IS CLOSE, INTERIOR LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AS LONG AS IT SAYS DOOR IS AJAR. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE WORKS SOMETIMES AND DOESN'T WORK SOMETIMES. I HAVE TO OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL IT WORKS. IF I CANNOT GET IT WORK THEN IT ABSOLUTELY KILLS MY BATTERY. THIS IS APPARENTLY HAPPENING ALOT ON THESE VEHICLES. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING APPEARS CONTINUOUSLY ON THE DASHBOARD EVEN WHEN THE DOOR HAS BEEN CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED AND CAUSES THE DOME LIGHTS TO BE ON WHILE DRIVING CAUSING VISION ISSUES AT NIGHT. THE LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF WHICH RESULTS IN DRAINING THE BATTERY. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR REMAINS "AJAR". (DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY) LOCKS WON'T LOCK, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, CAN'T LOCK CAR AND LIGHTS COME ON RANDOMLY DURING THE DAY & NIGHT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT COULD COST ME $500.00. IF I CAN'T MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS, THE KIDS CAN GET OUT WHILE DRIVING. SAFETY RECALL IS NECESSARY OR TRADING IN FORD! I HAVE TO PUT TAPE OVER MY DOME LIGHTS SO I CAN BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN THE DARK...I CAN'T SEE! *TR
INDICATES DRIVER DOOR IS AJAR. DOESN'T MATTER HOW HARD OR EASY YOU CLOSE THE DOOR IT WON'T GO OFF. ALSO MY CAR ALARM JEEPS GOING OFF RANDOMLY. *TR
THE LATCH SENSOR TELLING THE CAR THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR IS STICKING. IT WON'T ALLOW THE DOORS TO LOCK BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL AJAR. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH ALSO DRAIN THE CAR'S BATTERY. THE FACT THAT MY CAR DOORS WON'T LOCK AS A RESULT OF THIS SENSOR ISSUE IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ALL THAT ENCOUNTER IT. *TR

THROTTLE BODY KEEPS FAULTING OUT AND LOOSING POWER TO THE VEHICLE ACCELERATION. CAUSING ME A LOT OF TROUBLE AND I AM A SINGLE FATHER TRYING TO RAISE FOR KIDS. I AM VERY UPSET WITH FORD RIGHT NOW!! *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOWS THAT MY DOOR IS NOT CLOSED WHEN IN FACT IT IS. I HAVE CLEANED THE SENSOR, SPRAYED WITH CAN AIR TO REMOVE DUST, ALSO TRIED SPRAYING WITH BRAKE CLEANER, WITH NO SUCCESS. I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 FORD EDGE DOWN A BUSY HIGH TRAFFIC AREA GOING 45 MPH AND MY CAR STARTED SHAKING THE TOOL LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AND IT JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, SOMEONE ALMOST REAR ENDED ME PEOPLE WERE HONKING, I STILL HAD ALL POWER BUT MY ACCELERATION JUST STOPPED, PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE WITH THE EMERGENCY FLASHES ON TURNED THE CAR OFF AND SAT FOR A MINUTE I RESTARTED IT AND DROVE IT HOME, IT DID THE EXACT SAME THING TWO DAYS LATER. I CALLED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY AND PROCEEDED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I TOLD THEM AFTER DOING RESEARCH I THOUGHT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID IT WAS A BAD MASS SENSOR, FIXED IT AND SAID I WAS GOOD TO GO. I PICKED UP THE CAR AND TWO DAYS LATER IT DID THE SAME THING, CAR SHOOK, TOOL LIGHT CAME ON, THEN I LOST ACCELERATION, COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT, HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID NO CODES WERE COMING UP SO THEY COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING. I SAID WELL OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS WRONG, I SUGGESTED THE THROTTLE BODY THEY SAID NO CODES CAME UP, NOTHING THEY CAN DO, AGAIN I SAID SOMETHING IS WRONG ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! HE SAID UNLESS THE CODE COMES UP FORD WILL NOT LET THEM REPLACE ANYTHING. I ASKED HIM WHAT THE SOLUTION IS HE HAD NOTHING. HE SAID UNLESS IT HAPPENS WHILE THEY TEST DROVE IT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. SO IM STUCK WITH A FAULTY CAR WITH NO SOLUTIONS. *TR
THE DOOR SENSOR ERRONEOUSLY INDICATES DOOR AJAR. THIS PREVENTS THE DOOR LOCKS FROM ACTUATING AND ALLOWS CHILDREN TO ACCIDENTALLY OPEN DOOR WHEN MOVING. ALSO THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AT HOURS OF DARKNESS, IMPEDING VISIBILITY. *TR
DRIVERS DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. THE DOOR IS CLOSED. IT WON'T LOCK THE DOORS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING. AT NIGHT THIS IS A PAIN SINCE THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON FOR AWHILE. TRIED WD40 AND NOTHING. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SINCE THERE ARE MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT AND THE AWD OFF WARNING MESASGE ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE STALLED. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000. PAM UPDATED 12/30/14*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED SINCE REPORTING THE FAILURE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. UPDATED 9/25/15 *JS
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED AND QUICKLY LOST SPEED, AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I ATTEMPTED TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, HOWEVER NOTHING REACTED, THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. AFTER TURNING ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, I WAS ABLE TO CREEP TO THE SHOULDER AND ON THEN ONTO THE OFF-RAMP WHERE I RESTARTED THE CAR. INITIALLY EVERYTHING WORKED; I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE, BUT SHORTLY AFTER THE JERKING/LOSS OF SPEED HAPPENED AGAIN. AFTER CALLING MY HUSBAND TO MEET ME WHERE I WAS STRANDED, I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO ACTIVE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. OUR CAR WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL FORD SHOP WHERE THEY TOLD US THAT OUR ELECTRONIC FUEL THROTTLE FAILED AND HAD TO BEEN REPLACED AT JUST ABOUT $900 (PLUS THE TOW). *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH FAULTY, WAS SHOWING DOOR AJAR WHEN CLOSED WHICH PREVENTED DOORS FROM LOCKING AND KEPT INTERIOR LIGHTS ON NOT SURE IF AIRBAG WOULD ARM OR NOT. WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND TOOK TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD IT JUST NEEDED TO BE RESET. DEALER DID NOT DOCUMENT THE REPAIR AND WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE $600 TO REPLACE THE LATCH. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, A BURNING ODOR EMITTED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT ORIGINATED FROM THE FUSE BOX. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR LIFT GATE FAILED TO RELEASE AND OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT LATCH SECURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
DOOR AJAR SWITCH WENT OUT ON FRONT DRIVER DOOR LAST YEAR WAS UNDER ELECTRICAL WARRANTY BUT NOW THE REAR LEFT DOOR HAS DONE THE SAME THING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE 56 FREEWAY WITH ONLY LESS THAN A ONE MINUTE WARNING OF A ORANGE COLOR WRENCH ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE WHEEL WHICH WENT ON. I LOST ALL POWER TO MY 2011 FORD EDGE INCLUDING BRAKE, ACCELERATOR YOU NAME IT NO POWER WHAT SO EVER. I WAS SO LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER VERY SCARY. I HAVE OWNED MANY CARS, BUT NEVER EXPERIENCES SOMETHING SO SCARY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME WAS ON 10/6/2014. BOTH TIMES I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP LOCATION THE FIRST TIME THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 2 FULL DAYS AND WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME I PICKED UP MY CAR AFTER 1 FULL DAY AND I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT THEY CONTACTED FORDS MAIN OFFICE REGARDING THIS MATTER. I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE BY STAFF THAT I CAN COME AND PICK UP MY CAR, BUT I WILL NEED TO HAVE A COMPUTER ATTACHED TO IT. I SAID WHILE WHY CANT YOU JUST KEEP THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU FIND THE PROBLEM AND GIVE ME A RENT A CAR. "MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT". I PICKED IT UP AT 420PM ON 10/17/14 THEY GAVE ME NO PAPERWORK LIKE THEY DID WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF, BUT GAVE ME INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE THIS COMPUTER THING THEY INSTALLED IN MY CAR. WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS I WAS TO HIT THE RED BUTTON WHEN MY CAR RUNS FUNNY, OR LOOSES POWER. I CAN ONLY PRESS IT 4 TIMES NO MORE THAN 4 TIMES. I TOLD THE STAFF MEMBER AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT INSTRUCTED ME THAT I AM SCARED. EVENTHOUGH, MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP KNOWS THAT I AM SCARED THEY STILL RELEASED THE CAR TO ME! PLEASE HELP OUR FAMILY WITH THIS MATTER REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THE 2011 FORD EDGE. *TR
AFTER CLOSING DOOR, THE DOME LIGHTS AND DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD ILLUMINATE. I WOULD HAVE TO SLAM THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE DOME LIGHT AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT INDICATOR LIGHT TO EXTINGUISH. THE PROBLEM IS WORSE IN COLDER WEATHER. *TR
DURING DRIVING MY 2011 FORD EDGE THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE STALL OCCURRED AT AN APPROXIMATE DRIVING SPEED OF 30 MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY. A LIGHT DEPICTING A WRENCH SHOWN ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DISPLAY ALONG WITH A MESSAGE TO CONSULT MANUAL. AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT TO SEE IF I COULD GET IT GOING AGAIN BEFORE I GOT HIT BY A CAR. THE CAR DID START AND THEN DROVE NORMALLY. I LOOKED IN THE MANUAL AND FOUND THE WRENCH ICON TO INDICATE A POWERTRAIN DEFECT. SINCE THIS WAS A DRIVING HAZARD, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE ONBOARD COMPUTER WAS ACCESSED AND THE CODE C-P2111 WAS DIAGNOSED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY AND THAT IT WOULD BE REPLACED. A NEW PART WAS INSTALLED AND I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 250 MILES AND IT SO FAR HAS NOT REPEATED THE SAME STALLING. IT DOES NOT, HOWEVER, MAINTAIN CONSISTENT RPMS WHILE IDLING. A COUPLE OF TIMES THEY DIPPED DOWN LOW ENOUGH THAT I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS GOING TO DIE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I DISAGREE--I DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE THROTTLE BODY. I AM MAKING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS A SEVERE PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO LOSE THEIR LIFE IF THE CAR STALLED ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN IT STALLS, THE CAR DOESN'T SLOWLY COAST ALONG, IT ABRUPTLY STOPS. THIS MAY BE THE SAME PART THAT IS IN OTHER FORD VEHICLES FOR WHICH A RECALL HAS BEEN MADE, BUT SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO BULLETIN ON THE FORD EDGE FOR THE THROTTLE BODY DEFECT. *TR
MY EDGE DRIVING ALONG ABOUT 35MPH AND WARNING LITE CAME ON AWD OFF W/A WRENCH LITE, QUICK JERK THEN UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD @ 1MPH ENGINE WAS SHAKING CAR STALLED. SAT FOR ABOUT 15/20MIN STARTED RIGHT UP.. BUT KNOW ALSO HAVE A VERY LOUD HUMMING NOISE. *TR
THIS IS THE FOURTH OCCURRENCE OF THIS SITUATION. THE FIRST THREE TIMES, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEIR RESPONSE IS THAT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. IT DOES NOT MATTER THE SPEED, THE WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE AMOUNT OF GAS, THE WEIGHT OF THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO ENSURE THE ISSUE WILL NOT HAPPEN, YET, IT CONTINUES. THE CAR SHUTS OFF, POWER STEERING IS UNAVAILABLE, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM GOES BLANK, THE TOOL LIGHT COMES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY DASH, AND THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SPUTTER. LUCKILY, ALL FOUR TIMES I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I THEN RESTART AND DRIVE TO THE DEALER. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND COULD POTENTIALLY BE FATAL, DEPENDING ON THE SURROUNDINGS. I HAVE BEEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME. THE FORD CORPORATE OFFICES HAVE BEEN UNHELPFUL, SUGGESTING THAT THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS, I SHOULD CALL A TOW TRUCK. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT TIME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION LIKE THIS. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO LOCAL FORD DEALER ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND THEY INSTALLED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SAID THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN TODAY. LUCKILY BOTH TIMES I WAS IN A PLACE WHERE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THESE ARE THE SYMPTOMS: 1. SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEED 2. WRENCH ICON SHOWED UP ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY 3. COASTED TO STOP AND APPLIED BRAKE (CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE) 4. SHIFTED TO PARK AND SHUT CAR OFF 4. RESTARTED CAR AND EVERYTHING BACK TO NORMAL. THE PROBLEM IS THAT FORD STATES THEY CANNOT REPLICATE IT AND ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN RESTARTED THE WRENCH ICON AND PROBLEM GO AWAY. THEY SAY THAT ONCE THE WRENCH ICON GOES AWAY THE COMPUTER DOESN'T STORE THE ERROR CODE AND THEREFORE WILL NOT SHOW THEM THE PROBLEM. THEY TELL YOU TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHILE THE WRENCH ICON IS STILL ON THE DASHBOARD BUT THAT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE UNLESS IT HAPPENED RIGHT NEXT TO THE DEALER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY 4 LANE ROAD IN WILMINGTON NC, THE SERVICE POWERTRAIN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE. AT THAT POINT, THERE WAS NO LONGER ANY POWER TO THE WHEELS OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION IN WHICH THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO ACTIVELY CONTINUE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED, THE ERROR WAS CLEARED. NO CODE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY AVAILABLE TO BE PULLED. AT A LATER POINT, THE CODE WAS PULLED WHILE, ONCE AGAIN IN LIMP MODE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CODE PULLED WAS P2111. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE UP A SLIGHT GRADE AT 40MPH APPROXIMATELY 5PM ON A THURSDAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE POWER TO THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY CAME TO A SIGNIFICANT DROP IN SPEED. ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 1MPH. I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE ENGINE HAD NO RESPONSE. THE CAR KEPT MOVING FORWARD, BUT ONLY THE MAX SPEED OF 1MPH. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING/SOUNDING ROUGH AND WAS SLIGHTLY SHAKY. MY VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE RUNNING NORMALLY ALL DAY AND THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS INDICATING THE CAR NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER. AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY LOST ALL THAT POWER, THE LITTLE YELLOW WRENCH SYMBOL (INDICATING POWERTRAIN/AWD ISSUES) APPEARED AND THE WORDS NO AWD. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKY (AS WELL AS MY TWO PASSENGERS) THAT THIS DID NOT OCCUR ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY OR THERE WAS MANY CARS RIGHT BEHIND ME. THIS VERY WELL COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MAJOR CRASH!!! ESPECIALLY IF I WAS GOING 65MPH ON OUR MAJOR HIGHWAYS WITH HEAVING TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY, I WAS LESS THAN .5 MILES FROM HOME AND MANAGED TO GET HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. I PARKED MY VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A MINUTE AND RESTARTED IT. THE ENGINE SEEMED TO RUN HEAVY AT FIRST, THEN IDLED DOWN. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT MOVED FORWARD AND I DROVE IT ABOUT 1-2 FEET AND PUT IT IN REVERSE. IT SEEMED TO BE FINE. WHILE DRIVING IN POWAY AT 45 MPH WITH ONLY LESS THAN A ONE MINUTE WARNING OF AN ORANGE COLOR WRENCH LIGHT SHOWING UP. THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR MALFUNCTIONS CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR EVEN THOUGH ALL FOUR DOORS ARE SHUT CORRECTLY. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE MESSAGE GO AWAY BY REOPENING AND SHUTTING THE DOOR, THEN THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK ONCE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THE DOME LIGHTS WILL REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH DOES NOT WORK. WHAT THIS HAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE IS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON IN THE CAR WELL AFTER IT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE ALSO WILL NOT TURN THE INTERIOR LIGHT OFF WHEN RUNNING UNLESS YOU ARE IN DRIVE AND MOVE FORWARD. THE DANGER IS IN REVERSING AT NIGHT.
