2012 FORD EDGE DOOR AJAR SENSOR STAYS ON,DOORS WON'T LOCK AND WARNING BUZZER SOUNDS EVERY TIME I STOP. *TR
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT REGISTER AS CLOSED. THE CABIN LIGHTS STAY ON AND THE DOORS DON'T ALWAYS LOCK BECAUSE THE CAR THINKS THE DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IT IS NOT. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR I GET AN ALARM IN THE DASHBOARD THAT CONTINUALLY STATES THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS AJAR.
MY FORD TOUCH SCREEN WONT WORK. ONLY 22,500 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN PARK, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH AND THE SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE WARNING AND TONE ON WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION AFTER STOP. UPDATED 05/10/16*LJ *TR
I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND AT 9 MPH MY DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK. THEY ALL LOCKED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY REAR DRIVER DOOR. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS STILL LIT ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. I OPENED THE DOOR AND RECLOSED IT SEVERAL TIMES. A FEW HARDER AND A FEW LIGHTER SLAMS AND IT NEVER WENT OFF. THE LIGHT STAYS LIT FOR A FEW DAYS TO A FEW HOURS AND COMES AND GOES OFF AS IT PLEASES. I HAVE EVEN REFRAINED FROM USING THAT DOOR AND IT WILL STILL GO OFF AND LIGHT UP WHEN IT WANTS. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL POSTS ON THE INTERNET OF THIS SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER FORD VEHICLES: F150, EDGE, RANGER AND ESCAPE NEWER YEAR MODELS FROM 2007 TO CURRENT. IF THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK THIS PUTS THE PERSON OR PERSONS IN THE VEHICLE AT RISK. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS MAY ALSO AFFECT THE PROPER ACTIVATION OF THE ALARM WHICH IS ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS IS A COSTLY FIX THAT IS UNNECESSARY TO THE CONSUMER SINCE THIS IS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD TRUCKS AND SUVS. IT WOULD BE A RELIEF TO KNOW THAT FORD COULD BE TAKING SUCH SERIOUS CONSIDERATION SINCE IT PUTS ITS CONSUMERS IN JEOPARDY. I LOVE FORD AND ESPECIALLY MY FORD EDGE, BUT THIS IS A VERY ANNOYING PROBLEM AND CONCERN FOR MY FAMILIES' SAFETY. *TR
THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH IS DEFECTIVE THUS FAILING TO NOTIFY THE SENSOR THAT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED. THE DOOR, ALTHOUGH CLOSED, REGISTERS OPEN. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING SOUNDS ON THE DASH BOARD, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DEFECTIVE LATCH MAY AFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BECAUSE THE DOORS INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO LOCK. I BEGAN SEARCHING FORD FORUMS ONLY TO FIND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR MANY FORD OWNERS. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT THEY KNEW NOTHING OF THIS ISSUE. IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR FORD TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE, REPAIR THE FAULTY PART AT THEIR EXPENSE, AND CONTINUE TO FOLLOW INDUSTRY STANDARDS BEST PRACTICES.

2012 FORD EDGE DRIVERS DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AT 35,000 MILES ..SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS. I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON IT..
DRIVER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY FAILURE RESULTS IN A DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING. DOOR IS LATCHED AT LEAST ENOUGH TO STAY SHUT, HOWEVER, THE WARNING STAYS ON. AS A RESULT, THE AUTO DOOR LOCK AT 10MPH DOES NOT HAPPEN. IF YOU USE THE DOOR LOCK PUSH BUTTON, THE DOORS LOCK AND THEN IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK THEM IS TO PUSH DOWN EACH ON THE DOOR BUTTONS. SMALL CHILDREN OR BABIES IN THE BACK SEAT CAN'T AND THE DRIVER CAN'T REACH ALL THE DOORS. NOT A GOOD SITUATION. ALSO, EVERY TIME YOU STOP, FOR INSTANCE AT A LIGHT, ANOTHER WARNING TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK OCCURS WHEN YOU RELEASE THE BRAKES. ANOTHER DISTRACTION. DEALER SAYS PART IS ON BACKORDER. THIS, ALONG WITH ALL THE WEB INSTANCES, INDICATES A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY ON EDGE AND LINCOLN. A RECALL SEEMS TO BE IN ORDER AS THE DESIGN IS FAULTY IN TODAY'S WORLD! CARB CLEANER AND WD 40 WORKED FOR A FEW TIMES FOR A FEW DAYS BUT NOW PROBLEM IS SOLID. THE LATCH SPRING APPEARS TO BE BROKEN AND/OR A FAULTY SENSOR - ALL PART OF THE SAME ASSEMBLY. *TR
DOOR AJAR WARNING KEEPS COMING ON, SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR FIRST GET IN THE CAR IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF, DOME LIGHT IS ON, WILL ALSO COME ON WHILE DRIVING EVENTHOUGH THERE WAS NO SENSOR LIGHT ON WHEN FIRST DRIVING, SHUT DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, SOFT OR HARD AND WILL NOT GO OFF, VERY ANNOYING SINCE THE SOUND GOES OFF THAT INDICATES DOOR IS AJAR, CANNOT LOCK DOORS WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AT NIGHT THE DOME LIGHT BEING DISTRACTS FROM DRIVING AND HARDER TO SEE THE ROAD, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS INTERMITTENT, NOW IT HAPPENS MORE THAN NOT. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN MY SENSOR INDICTED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS AJAR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLAMMED THE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES. THE SENSOR STILL TOLD ME THE DOOR WAS AJAR. THIS WILL NOT GO OFF. IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS NOW. THE DOME LIGHT WILL ALSO STAY ON DRAINING MY BATTERY. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THE SENSORS. WHEN I LOOK ON LINE THERE ARE MULTIPLE OTHER DRIVER'S DOOR SENSOR ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE CHIME WARNING IS CONSTANT. PLEASE RECALL THESE SO I CAN FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE! *TR
THE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL CONSTANTLY STAYS ON AFTER I'VE ALREADY MADE SURE THE DOOR WAS SHUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. MY INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT SHUT OFF UNTIL I'VE SLAMMED THE DOOR ABOUT 5-6 TIMES. IT'S REALLY HARD TO TELL IF THEY'VE SHUT OFF IN THE DAYTIME AND SO I'M FEARFUL I MAY COME OUT TO MY BATTERY BEING DEAD. IT ALSO SCARES ME TO SEE IT COME ON WHILE I'M DRIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER AS I'M UNSURE WHETHER THE DOOR IS PROPERLY LATCHED. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL SO THAT ALL DRIVERS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE CAN GET THIS FIXED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
DOOR AJAR SIGNAL WILL INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATE EVEN THOUGH DRIVERS DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS ALSO MEANS THAT DOME LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF AND THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD EDGE AND IT NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED TO A RECALL FOR FIX. *TR
AFTER CLOSING THE DRIVER'S DOOR, I GET A DOOR AJAR MESSAGE IN THE DASHBOARD SCREEN. WHEN PARKED, INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK SINCE THE VEHICLE THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. WHILE DRIVING, DOORS DO NOT LOCK AND NOTIFICATIONS REPEAT AFTER EACH STOP AS I RELEASE THE BRAKE TO START ACCELERATING. REPEATED DOOR CLOSINGS MAY CAUSE THE COMPUTER TO REALIZE THAT THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND THE MESSAGE MAY GO AWAY, BUT THAT SOLUTION WORKS LESS AND LESS OFTEN. MY EDGE IS NOW 5 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS 2 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD HQ TELLS ME THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND MY DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $400 TO REPLACE THE DOOR SWITCH OR $500+ IF I WANT A DIAGNOSTIC TO DETERMINE IF THAT SOLUTION WILL WORK, OR IF THERE IS A LARGER PROBLEM. ONLINE RESEARCH REVEALS THIS PROBLEM IS RAMPANT ACROSS MANY FORD MODELS AND YEARS. THEY KNOW IT'S A FLAW AND REFUSE TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
DRIVER DOOR SENSOR FAULTY CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON, CONTINUOUS ALERTS THAT DRIVER DOOR IS AJAR WITH ALARM TO COME ON TELLING YOU TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND SHUT DOOR CAUSING A HAZARD. INTERIOR LIGHTS ARE ON DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING.
WENT TO STOP BEHIND A TRUCK AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN I PUSHED DOWN ON THE BRAKE PETAL IT FELT SPONGY AND MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I PUSHED EXTREMELY HARD. THEN MY PETAL KEPT GOING DOWN FURTHER TO THE FLOOR. I PLACE MY CAR IN PARK GEAR AND CONTINUED TO HOLD THE BRAKE PETAL DOWN. MY CAR BEGAN MAKING A SQUEALING NOISE WHICH STOPPED WHEN I LET THE BRAKE PETAL UP. I PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND DROVE A COUPLE MORE BLOCKS WITH BRAKES STILL SPONGY AND NOT VERY RESPONSIVE. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW AND WILL HAVE IT TOWED IN. I WAS SUPPOSE TO DRIVE TO MY CABIN YESTERDAY WHICH HAS A 35 MIN DRIVE THROUGH A CANYON WITH A 500 FOOT CLIFF ON ONE SIDE. THANKFULLY I DID NOT GO! *TR
WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET, VEHICLE GOING UP A HILL THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. THE ENGINE DIED (ZERO RPM INDICATED.) A FEW SECONDS LATER, THE "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE" WARNING WAS DISPLAYED. LOSS OF POWER STEERING/BRAKES. VEHICLE WAS CAREFULLY MANEUVERED OFF THE HIGHWAY. ATTEMPTED TO RESTART REPEATEDLY. ENGINE WOULD ONLY RUN FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN DIED. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER. NO ENGINE TROUBLE CODES DETECTED. AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT, VEHICLE STARTED AND RAN WITHOUT ISSUE. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD WHEN A VEHICLE STALLS AT HIGH SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
FORD EDGE SPORT 2012. STRANGE HISSING SOUND WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. I HAVE TO APPLY SLIGHTLY MORE PRESSURE BEFORE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. POSSIBLE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE AS INDICATED BY FORD NOTICE "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02." *TR
THE SENSOR FOR THE DOOR AJAR ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS BAD AND I CANNOT LOCK MY DRIVER DOOR DUE TO THE ALARM SOUND FROM MY DISPLAY PANEL. THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS PUTTING MY SAFETY AT RISK IN PARKING LOTS, DANGEROUS AREAS, AND WHEN I AM DRIVING. THE FORD DEALER TELLS ME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO HUNDREDS OF THESE VEHICLES AND IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL AS OF YET. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE INABILITY TO LOCK THE DOOR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR LOCK THE DOOR WHEN YOU ENTER THE VEHICLE FOR PERSONAL SAFETY. *TR

FORD EDGE SPORT 2012. DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILS AND/OR GIVES FALSE READINGS. DRIVER SIDE CONSOLE DISPLAYS DOOR OPEN INDICATOR. I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY OPEN AND CLOSE TO THE DOOR TO CLEAR THE INDICATOR LIGHT. IT USUALLY HAPPENS RIGHT WHEN I ENTER THE VEHICLE BUT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED/CLOSED THE DOOR TO CLEAR THE MESSAGE. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH STAYS ON WHEN THE DRIVERS DOOR IS CLOSED AND LATCHED. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND EASILY SEARCHABLE ON MANY VEHICLE FORUMS AND YOUTUBE. *TR
A FAULT IN THE DOOR LATCH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS MALFUNCTIONING AND SENDS A SIGNAL THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT. BESIDES BEING ANNOYING, I FEAR THE FACT THAT THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THEY COULD BE LOCKED MANUALLY, BUT I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN THAT CAN NOT LOCK THEM ON THEIR OWN. I FEAR THAT IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT, THEY COULD BE THROWN FROM THE CAR DUE TO NOT HAVING THE DOORS LOCKED. AT THIS POINT I DO NOT EVEN WANT TO DRIVE MY CHILDREN ANYWHERE IN THIS VEHICLE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
DOOR ALWAYS INDICATE OPEN. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE THE CAR CAN'T BE LOCK. ALSO THE LIGHT INSIDE IS ALWAYS ON CAN'T BE TURN OFF AND THIS IS A DRIVING HAZAR. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR ALWAYS READS THE DOOR AS OPEN. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO CHIME EVERY TIME YOU ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED, AND PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE CHIME IS A DISTRACTION AND ALSO CAUSES THE DRIVER TO IGNORE THE ALARM WHICH MEANS YOU COULD NOT NOTICE SOME OTHER, MORE SERIOUS MALFUNCTION IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS MAKE PARKING AT NIGHT VERY DANGEROUS AS IT'S HARD TO SEE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AND THE DOORS NOT LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY IS OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS. ON TOP OF ALL THIS, YOU CANNOT UNLOCK THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE IF THE PROXIMITY KEY IS INSIDE THE VEHICLE WHEN IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. IF SOMEONE IS USED TO BEING ABLE TO DO THIS, IT'S VERY EASY TO LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF YOUR CAR. IT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY. GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE A BABY STUCK IN THERE. INSTEAD I JUST HAD TO PAY $60 FOR A LOCKSMITH. ATTEMPTING TO CLEAN THE AREA WHERE THE SENSOR IS LOCATED DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE. AND THE PROCESS TO REPLACE THE SENSOR IS EITHER VERY EXPENSIVE OR FAR BEYOND MOST PEOPLE'S ABILITY (IT REQUIRES COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY OF THE DOOR). THIS MEANS A LOT OF PEOPLE WON'T BOTHER TO REPAIR IT AND THERE WILL BE A LOT OF FORD VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THIS PROBLEM. WATCH OUT FOR THEM IN A PARKING LOT. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SAYS IS AJAR WHEN IT IS CLOSED. THIS IS WHEN PARKED OR IN DRIVE. INDICATOR WILL NOT GO OFF NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I SHUT THE DOOR.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING SENSOR STAYS ON. THIS CAUSED INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON. TOOK HOURS TO "FOOL" THE SYSTEM TO GET WARNING SENSOR TO DEACTIVATE, CONSEQUENTLY ALL LIGHTS WENT OUT. FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SWORE THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS YET OWNER COMPLAINTS ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. *TR

THE DOOR AJAR COMES ON WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY SHUT. THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN ARE A CONCERN BECAUSE THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK AND YOU CAN'T MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS. YOU CAN SLAM YOUR DOOR 100 TIMES BUT IT STILL STAYS ON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN MY VEHICLE IS PARKED AND IN MOTION.
DOOR SENSOR AJAR MALFUNCTIONING. DOME LIGHT IN CAR STAYING ON CAUSING NIGHT DRIVING HAZARD. DOORS NOT LOCKING WHILE DRIVING DUE TO SENSOR MALFUNCTION. SENSOR INCORPORATED IN DOOR LATCH. DOOR LATCH HAS TO BE REPLACED TO RECTIFY. *TR
DRAMATIC AND SUDDEN LOW PRESSURE IN BRAKES. PITCH SOUND WHEN YOU PUT THE BRAKE TO END. HIGH RISK OF COLLUSION! FORD SAID NO RECALL RELATED EXIST, BUT MORE THAN THAT FORD DEALER FORMERLY SAID IS NO PROBLEM. I WENT TO PEP BOYS (FOR A THIRD VERIFICATION) AND THE CONCLUSION ISSUE WAS THE BOOSTER REPLACEMENT NEEDED. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR COMPLAINT IN THE SAME VEHICLE/MODEL/YEAR AS I EVIDENCED HERE IN THE NHTSA WEB PAGE. AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS IS SUGGESTED. BRAKES ARE SECURITY!!!! THANKS. *TR

SAYS DOOR IS AJAR WHEN ITS NOT. DOME LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF, WONT LOCK, AND BEEPS CONSTANTLY WHEN NOT IN PARK UNTIL I TRY TO CLOSE THE DOOR, THAT IS ALREADY CLOSED. HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE, OPEN AND CLOSE, OPEN AND CLOSE UNTIL IT TURNS OFF. HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. THIS IS NOT JUST AN ANNOYANCE ISSUE. *TR
FAULTY DRIVER DOOR SENSOR. ALWAYS SHOWS DOOR AJAR WHICH THEN DRAINS THE BATTERY. FORD REPLACED IT WHEN UNDER WARRANTY ONLY TO HAVE IT GO BAD AGAIN OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL NOT RECALL A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. CHARGING CUSTOMERS $500 AND UP TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WON'T JUST HAPPEN AGAIN.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE CAR DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAUSES THE BATTERY TO BE COMPLETELY DRAINED.
DRIVER DOOR OPEN SENSOR WENT OFF CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AND ALARM START GOING OFF. THIS WAS AT 8:30 PM ON A RURAL ROAD. I LOST MY NIGHT VISION AND SWERVED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CAUSING MY 11 YEAR OLD TO STRIKE HER HEAD ON THE SIDE WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE AND DAMAGE TO THE FRONT SPOILER. AFTER DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH FOR FORD DRIVER DOOR OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND FOUND NUMEROUS WEBSITES DEDICATED TO THE PROBLEM AND IMMENSE NUMBER OF ACCIDENTS. HOW LONG CAN FORD GET AWAY WITH THIS SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES IF THEY HAVEN'T ALREADY? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DETILS OF THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. WHILE TRAVELING IN MEXICO, I HIT A BLACK STEER STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AT NIGHT. IT WAS A FULL FRONTAL COLLISION. IT WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND THE COMPLETE FRONT AND BOTH SIDES OF MY VEHICLE BEFORE COMING UP ON THE HOOD. IT ALSO BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. NEITHER THE AIRBAGS NOR THE SIDE CURTAINS DEPLOYED. I HAD IT SENT TO A FORD DEALER, PER THE REQUEST OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THEY REPORTED THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS WORKING JUST FINE. THAT'S VERY PECULIAR. THE FACT REMAINS THAT IN A FULL FRONTAL COLLISION THE AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK AND I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE TRAVELING IN THAT VEHICLE. I CALLED THE NHTSA ON 4/9/15 AT 1-888-327-4236 AND TALKED TO [XXX] WHO GAVE ME A COMPLAINT #10704792 AND SAID SOMEONE WOULD BE CONTACTING ME WITHIN 72 HOURS. NOBODY HAS CONTACTED ME TO THIS DAY. FUEL NOZZLE INLET SET A MIL LIGHT CODE FOR FUEL VAPOR SEEPAGE. THIS IS THE CAPLESS FUEL SYSTEM. THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE. ANY TYPE OF IGNITION SOURCE GOES NEAR THE FUEL DOOR WILL IGNITE THE VEHICLE INTO FLAMES. *TR

DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON SO THE DOORS CANT LOCK THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND FORD WILL NOT RECALL THIS UNSAFE PROBLEM THERE SEEMS TO BE AN EXISTING PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY AND WON'T LOCK JUST WENT IT GETS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND THE DASHBOARD ALERTS KEEP GOING OFF. CALLED FORD AND THEY WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THIS MODEL SHOULD BE RECALLED. 600.00 FOR REPAIR
THE DRIVERS DOOR CLOSING SENSOR DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. WITHOUT THE DOOR BEING CLOSED THE LIGHTS STAY ON AND MANY OTHER ELECTRONICS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY IF THE DOOR IS REGISTERED AS OPEN. THIS INCLUDES DRAINING THE BATTERY BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF WHEN I AM NOT DRIVING THE CAR. IN FEB 2015, I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED TO BE CLEANED, SO THE DEALER CHARGED ME $250 TO TEAR APART THE DOOR TO CLEAN THE SENSOR. JUST 10 MONTHS LATER IT STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN.
