While driving the car approaching a stop the brake pedal suddenly went almost all the way to the floor. Had to press the brake multiple times to come to a complete stop. It is unsafe when traveling in traffic and unable to slow down fast enough to stop the vehicle which can cause an accident. The vehicle has not been inspected. Contacted a mechanic and described the issue and stated this sound like a master cylinder issue and it is unsafe to drive. This issue did not present warning lights or message to indicate there was anything wrong. We have read many similar complaints online. We believe Ford should fix this issue.

DRIVING ON A 3 LANE CITY ROAD IN THE LEFT MOST LANE AT 50 MILES AN HOUR WHEN I HEARD A SNAP. THEN IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT. I FOUGHT IT BACK TO THE RIGHT WHILE BRAKING. EVENTUALLY THE CAR CAME TO A STOP. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE FRONT LEFT TIRE WAS FLIPPED 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND WHAT APPEARED TO BE THE AXEL LAYING ON THE GROUND. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BALL JOINT HAD BROKEN APART FROM THE REST OF THE DRIVE ASSEMBLY AND RIPPED OUT THE AXEL. THE VEHICLE IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND HAD 50,000 MILES. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT THERE WAS ONGOING ALIGNMENT ISSUES THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14S393000 (SUSPENSION). THE DEALER PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIR, BUT THE VEHICLE SHOOK, VIBRATED, AND WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER AFTERWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,116.
