I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, & NOTICED THE LETTERS DISPLAYED BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL STILL SHOWED THAT I WAS IN NEUTRAL EVEN THOUGH MY GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK. THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT BUDGE FROM PARK EVEN WITH MY CAR ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF & ON A FEW TIMES, BUT STILL NO CHANGE. I COULD ACTUALLY ROLL MY CAR FORWARD & BACKWARD BY HAND WHILE IN THE GARAGE WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING. I PUT MY EMERGENCY BRAKE ON TO AVOID ANY FURTHER, UNWANTED MOVEMENT. I CALLED AAA TO COME TOW MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE & TAKE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE SHIFTING CABLE HAD BROKE, & $350 LATER I GOT MY CAR BACK. THANK GOODNESS THIS HAPPENED IN MY GARAGE, BECAUSE IF THAT HAD HAPPENED ANYWHERE ELSE I OR SOMEONE ELSE COULD'VE BEEN INJURED OR CAUSED A WRECK IF THE CAR HAD ROLLED HAD I NOT NOTICED THE PROBLEM IN TIME. THE DEALERSHIP HAD SAID THAT THIS WAS THE 2ND FORD EDGE THAT THIS EXACT PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED WITH IN THE LAST MONTH. BIG CONCERN!
THE SUNROOF GLASS RANDOMLY AND INEXPLICABLY CRACKED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A SUN-DRENCHED PARKING LOT. I HEARD A LOUD "CRACK" WHICH RESULTED IN A SMALL CRACK THAT RAPIDLY PROGRESSED INTO A SPIDERWEB OF CRACKS OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AND WHILE DRIVING HOME. SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF FOREIGN OBJECT IMPACT . MY UNDERSTANDING FROM INTERNET SEARCHES IS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE/SUNROOF.
FRONT PORTION OF SUNROOF HAS RANDOM WAVY CRACKS THROUGHOUT THE GLASS. NORMAL DRIVING KEPT IN GARAGE AND ONLY HAS 32K MILES ON VEHICLE.
THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF DEVELOPED SPIDERWEB STYLE CRACKING FOR NO REASON. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR A WEEK AGO. THE CAR WAS NOT EVEN BEING DRIVEN WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
The oil pan is made of plastic and is known to warp and leak. I have had 3 oil pans on the car since I purchased it February 2018. This poses a risk because oil is spilled onto the ground creating an environmental and slip hazard. The issue has been verified by two different Ford dealers in my area. They both have replaced the oil pan for me and stated that it would probably leak again. Since the last replacement, it has began leaking and I have not bothers to pay for it again because I have been hoping that it would become a recall. It is a known issue among the online forums surrounding this car. No warning lights indicated unless the oil level gets too low.
THE GLASS ROOF ON MY 2015 FORD EDGE CRACKED IN A WAVE PATTERN IN MULTIPLE RUNS ACROSS THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF MY ROOF FOR NO REASON. NO CHIPS OR IMPACT AREA VISIBLE ON ROOF. NOTICED AFTER LEAVING DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGE.
WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN INTO A INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE STOPPED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT BOTH CAME ON. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.. I COASTED TO A STOP. THANK GOODNESS NO CARS WERE COMING. I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT. I DROVE AWAY AND WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED YARDS THE SAME THING HAPPENED. NO POWER, COULDN'T ACCELERATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LUG WRENCH THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE FOR REMOVING THE LUG NUTS FAILED TO FIT THE LUGS CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALL NATION FORD ORANGE PARK (7700 BLANDING BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32244, (904) 270-9943) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE WRENCH AND LUG NUTS WERE NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.
NOTED TODAY THAT THE REAR SECTION OF THE VISTA GLASS ROOF IS CRACKED ON OUR 2015 FORD EDGE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE IN LIGHT RAIN, BUT TRUCKS THROWING WATER ONTO WINDSHIELD, THE DRIVERS SIDE WIPER SKIPPED AND STALLED. IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE AND VERY DANGEROUS. AFTER ABOUT 5-7 SECONDS, IT MOVED AND WIPED WINDSHIELD AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 DIFFERENT TIMES. DEALER HAS REPROGRAMMED, BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
AS WE SLOWLY BACKED OUT OF OUR GARAGE, WE LOOKED UP AND SAW A LONG CRACK IN THE SUNROOF. WE REMEMBERED READING IN CONSUMER REPORTS (DEC. 2017) THAT LARGER SUNROOFS HAVE SHATTERED AND THE ARTICLE SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED FORD EDGE. WE IMMEDIATELY CLOSED THE SHIELD IN CASE IT SHATTERED AND DROVE TO THE FORD DEALER.
WE HAD HAD A PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR.THE AC MAKES LOUD NOISES AND CUTS OUT AND STOPS WORKING IT WILL SPEED UP SLOW DOWN WITH NO TOUCHING.THE BLUETOOTH DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY AND THE PHONE DOESN'T SINK OR DROPS CALLS.THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON!!!!WE FIRST TOOK TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP KELLY FORD IM MELBOURNE THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO FAIL.GAVE US THE CAR BACK AND WERE RUDE,MY WIFE CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AND MADE A COMPLAINT AND NOTHING WAS DONE.WE THEN SENT VIDEOS OF THE ISSUES. TO THE DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT FROM WHICH IS 2 HOURS DRIVE SOUTH OF ELSE DELRARE FORD.WE DROVE THERE AND SHOWED THE SALES MANAGER AND SERVICE MANAGER THE CAR IN THE FAILED CONDITION AS WE DIDNT SHUT CAR OFF AND PULLED INTO THE SERVICE STATION AFTER AGAIN SENDING TEXT OF VIDEOS ON OUR DRIVE DOWN OF THE FAILING.THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR OVER 5 DAYS AND AGAIN SAID THEY COULDNT GET IT TO FAIL WHEN THEY RESTARTED LATER.WE WERE FURIOUS.WE HAVE AGAIN HAD TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR PAYING ALMOST $400.00 A MONTH AND NO ONE WILL FIX...OR GIVE US ANOTHER CAR.ITS A LEASE.WE PHONED CUSTOMER CARE AGAIN THEY GAVE US A CASE NUMBER AND SAID CONTACT PALM BAY FORD AND QUOTE THE CASE NUMBER IF THEY DIDNT NOT FIX THE CAR OR GIVE A REPLACEMENT UNTIL IT WAS FIXED WE COULD END THE LEASE EARLY. THE CAR HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING.THE AC AND FAN VIBRATE SO LOAD AND GO FROM SUPER FAST TO SLOW AND THEN SHUTS OFF ALL WHILE DRIVING.WE ARE SCARED TO DRIVE!!!!
FRONT AND REAR LOWER DOOR JAMS COLLECT DIRT AND SALT ON DOOR. THIS HAPPENS BOTH ON HIGHWAY AND TOWN DRIVING. I HAD TO HAVE FORD CLEAN AND REINSTALL THE GASKET ON THE JAM AT A COST TO ME. THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. HAS HAPPENS SINCE I GOT IT WITH 11K MILES.
MY SUNROOF CRACKED ALL ON ITS OWN. I SEE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS HAPPENED WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE. MY VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND I HEARD IT CRACK THEN LOOKED UP AND SAW THE CRACK IN MY SUNROOF.
AT 9AM ON APRIL 4, I WAS COASTING INTO A PARKING SPOT IN THE REAR OF A DOCTOR'S OFFICE. I WAS JUST ABOUT TO PUT THE CAR INTO "PARK", WHEN THE 2015 FORD EDGE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AT WHAT FELT LIKE FULL SPEED, AND HIT A CHAIN LINK FENCE ABOUT 6 FT AFTER JUMPING A CURB. I SOMEHOW BRAKED AND GOT THE CAR INTO "PARK". AFTER A FEW MOMENTS, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND PUT THE CAR INTO "REVERSE" TO BACK DOWN TO THE PARKING SPOT, AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AGAIN ACCELERATED AT WHAT SEEMED LIKE TOP SPEED IN REVERSE, AND AFTER ABOUT 50 FEET CRASHED INTO A DUMPSTER AND ITS WOODEN ENCLOSURE. THIS WAS ACTUALLY FORTUNATE, BECAUSE 10 FT BEYOND THE DUMPSTER WAS THE COMMERCIAL BUILDING WITH A PERSON SITTING AT A DESK JUST INSIDE A WINDOW THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE CRASH POINT. IN ADDITION TO DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE BEING DESTROYED, THE FORD EDGE HIT A 2013 TESLA DRIVER'S SIDE REVIEW MIRROR. THERE IS NO POLICE REPORT AS THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY. HOWEVER, THERE WERE 4 WITNESSES TO THE ACCIDENT, AND ALL AGREED THAT "I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT, AND THANK GOD NO WAS INJURED OR EVEN KILLED" I WAS NOT INJURED, JUST SHAKEN UP. I CONTACTED THE FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP DEPT ON APRIL 9 TO REPORT THE MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION, AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER: CAS14557623. AND WAS TOLD BY LAW THAT THE FORD OFFICE OF GENERAL COUNSEL HAD 15 BUSINESS DAYS TO RESPOND IN WRITING. THE STATE FARM APPROVED BODY SHOP ESTIMATED REPAIRS AT APPROX $9,600. BUT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS CAR SHOULD NOT EVER BE ON THE ROAD AGAIN, SO WE DECLINED THE REPAIRS AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO OUR PROPERTY UNTIL WE RECEIVE SOME RESPONSE FROM FORD. I HAVE ATTACHED 5 PHOTOS. I HAVE MORE, BUT THESE SHOW THE ESSENCE OF WHAT HAPPENED. YOU CAN CONTACT ME FOR EXPLANATIONS OF WHAT YOU ARE VIEWING IF NECESSARY
WHEN MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE AND YOU ACCELERATE AND GO FROM APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH TO 75 PMH THERE IS ALWAYS A SMOKING -BURNING SMELL COMING OUT OF THE A/C EXHAUST VENTS INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. I HAD AN EXPLORER BEFORE AND IT DID THE SAME THING. I THOUGHT MY ENGINE WAS GOING TO BLOW UP EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAD APPROXIMATELY 30K MILES ON IT SO I TRADED IT. NOW THIS EDGE IS DOING THE SAME THING ... IS THIS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT IS TRYING TO BE REPAIRED SOON. I ASKED IF THE 2018'S HAD THIS PROBLEM THE THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID YES. SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN I PASS SOMEONE ON A REGULAR HIGHWAY ANY TIME YOU ACCELERATE YOUR SPEED FROM A LOWER SPEED TO A HIGHER ONE. THANKS
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, HEARD A VERY LOUD "POP"; THE ENTIRE REAR WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY BROKE. NOTHING HIT OR FELL ONTO MY CAR, THE BACK WINDSHIELD LITERALLY JUST POPPED AND SHATTERED INTO PIECES. I PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT TO LOOK AT IT, WHEN I CLOSED MY DOOR, THE WINDSHIELD STARTED CRUMBLING INTO THE CAR. IT LOOK LIKE THE OUTER EDGES OF THE WINDSHIELD SNAPPED OR COMPRESSED FIRST AND THEN THE CENTER OF IT WENT. IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION WHILE DRIVING; THANK GOD MY CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE BACK AT THE TIME.
ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR FAILED AT 39,900 MILES. $2300 TO FIX.
THE SUNROOF OF MY CAR CRACKED. I KEEP MY CAR IN A GARAGE AND DO NOT DRIVE IT TO WORK AS I AM RETIRED. NOTHING FELL ON MY CAR OR HIT MY CAR. ONE DAY, I OPENED THE COVER ON THE SUN ROOF WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, AND IT WAS CRACKED. I HAVE SINCE READ THAT THE FORD EDGE HAS A HIGHER THAN USUAL NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OF CRACKED SUNROOFS.
VEHICLE IS A 2015 EDGE, PURCHASED NEW AS A LEFTOVER IN FEB OF 2017. JAN/FEB OF 2018 WITH APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PANORAMIC SUNROOF GLASS CRACKED SPONTANEOUSLY, FOLLOWED SHORTLY AFTER BY THE REAR GLASS PANEL ON ANOTHER DAY. CRACKS WERE WAVY AND DID NOT APPEAR TO BE CAUSED BY AN IMPACT. FORD DEALER WOULD NOT WARRANTY BECAUSE THEIR "PEN TEST" OF DRAGGING A PEN ALONG THE LINE OF THE CRACK FOUND A PINHEAD "IMPACT" MARK. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH PANELS THRU INSURANCE COMPANY VIA A SPECIALTY THIRD PARTY CAPABLE OF REPLACING THE URETHANE ON THE REAR PANEL. UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING OR STATIONARY OR WHEN/WHERE EXACTLY THE CRACKING OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, A RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FLEX PLATE WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 40,000 MILES LATER. TALLASSEE FORD (1618 GILMER AVE, TALLASEE, AL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,328.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, A RATTLING AND KNOCKING NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALL STAR FAMILY FORD (13301 INTERSTATE 27, AMARILLO, TX 79119) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FLEX PLATE WAS CRACKED. THE FLEX PLATE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 18 MONTHS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 24397434. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that she had initially noticed oil leaking onto her garage pavement. As the failure persisted, the contact brought the issue to the attention of the dealer who informed her that the defect was related to improper service rendered by the independent mechanic that serviced her oil change. As the failure worsened, the same independent mechanic informed her that the oil leak could potentially lead to a vehicle fire. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who then discovered that an oil leak had leaked from the seals in the reservoir; the vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that upon start of the vehicle, the engine would vibrate without warning. The contact brought the vehicle to Rowe Auburn (699 Center St, Auburn, ME 042100) where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective flex plate. The contact discovered that the flex plate had been placed under recall however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
THE CAR WAS PARKED, WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ON, I NOTICED THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, AND A SERVICE MESSAGE APPEARED STATING STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE REQUIRED.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARKING LOT. WHEN I GOT THERE IN THE MORNING, NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY BACK WINDSHIELD. NO CRACKS. NO CHIPS. WHEN I WALKED OUT IN THE AFTERNOON, MY BACK WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND FROM THE LEFT SIDE TO THE RIGHT SIDE. ALL ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD HAD LITTLE PIECES THAT HAD ALREADY FALLEN OUT. WHEN I SHUT MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR THE PRESSURE POPPED MY WINDSHIELD OUT. THEN, WHEN I SHUT THE LEFT BACK DOOR THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. GLASS WAS IN MY TRUNK AND ON THE CEMENT. I BELIEVE THIS WAS DUE TO FAULTY GLASS.
RATTLE IN THE PILLARS AND THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF, WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 35 AND 50 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALER, HAWK FORD IN ST. CHARLES IL. SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE SUNROOF, SIDE AIRBAGS, AND SEAT BELTS. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THERE MAY BE A STRUCTURAL PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR, MODEL FORD, WHERE THE PINCH WELD HOLDING SUNROOF MOUNTING BRACKET HAD A BAD WELD. THE RATTLE IS SO BAD AT TIMES I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE IS A STRUCTURAL PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT AND CHIME GO OFF WHEN THE DOOR IS CORRECTLY SHUT. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. IF LEFT TO RING IT WILL DRAIN THE BATTERY BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT TURN OFF. IT IS NECESSARY TO STOP CAR, PUT INTO PARK, AND SLAM THE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES. IT HAPPENS EVERYTIME THE DOOR MUST BE SHUT.
KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MANY FORD EDGE POWER REAR LIFT GATES. THE POWER GATE WILL NOT OPERATE WITH REMOTE, INTERIOR RELEASE, OR EXTERIOR RELEASE BUTTONS. ALSO, CANNOT BE RELEASED FROM INSIDE EITHER. POTENTIALLY, TRAPPING SOMEONE IN REAR STORAGE AND UNABLE TO GET OUT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ANYWHERE AT ANY GIVEN TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ROCKER PANEL DETACHED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,451.
AFTER DRIVING THE CAR UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS FOR THE FIRST 40K MILES IT STARTED TO MAKE RATTLING NOISES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND IT HAD A BROKEN FLYWHEEL. 18K MILES LATER IT HAS ANOTHER BROKEN FLYWHEEL
WHILE DRIVING THE RMPS ALL OF THE SUDDEN INCREASED RAPIDLY (I HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR TRAVELING AROUND 50 MPG) AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SLOW. THE VEHICLE THEN STARTED TO SPUTTER LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS (HAD A FULL TANK). I PULLED OVER THEN STARTED OUT AGAIN. THEN I REALIZED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I RELUCTANTLY WENT INTO FIRST, SMOOTHED INTO 2ND THEN FELT LIKE IT TOTALLY SKIPPED 3RD BEFORE SETTLING INTO 4TH. I HAVE 6 YEARS. TRAVELING AROUND 60-70 WAS FINE. IT WAS THE LOWER GEARS WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP THAT WAS GIVING ME ISSUES. I NEED TO ADVISE YOU THAT THIS IS A 2015 MODEL WITH ONLY 12,885 MILES ON IT WHEN 3RD AND 5TH GEAR 'DROPPED OUT' OF MY TRANSMISSION. THIS IS WHAT THE LICENSED FORD MECHANIC ADVISED ME. I'M VERY UPSET BECAUSE IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND FORD WILL ONLY FIX THE BROKEN PARTS AND NOT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION. ONLY 12,885 MILES AND I BOUGHT IT USED - I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 3 MONTHS AT THIS POINT.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while attempting to stop vehicle, the brake pedal extended to the floor with the brake system malfunction message displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front brake lines were faulty causing brake fluid to leak from the vehicle. The front brake lines were replaced and the failure was remedied. The vehicle later experienced the same failure and the independent mechanic diagnosed that the same failure had occurred on the rear brake lines. The vehicle was not yet repaired. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WE HEAR A LOUD 'POP' WHICH SOUNDED LIKE A BALLOON POPPING THEN A CRACKLING NOISE. I LOOKED BACK AND THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW ON THE HATCH OF OUR EDGE HAD SHATTERED. LUCKILY IT STAYED IN TACT UNTIL WE RETURNED HOME AND WHEN I SHUT A DOOR IT STARTED TO BREAK ALL OF THE WAY OPEN. WE WERE NOT TRAVELING BY ANY OTHER VEHICLE AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED.
THE DRIVER'S POWER WINDOW INEXPLICABLY AND SUDDENLY FAILS TO OPERATE. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER'S WINDOW WILL FAIL TO OPEN, CLOSE OR QUIT OPERATING LEAVING THE WINDOW PARTIALLY OPEN/CLOSE. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY . . . . ANYWHERE/ANYTIME. DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, IF THE WINDOW IS STUCK OPEN OR PARTIALLY OPEN POSITION, IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE.
I STARTED SEEING WATER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR OF THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2017 AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF RAIN AND AFTER THE CAR WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE WAS ABOUT AN INCH OF WATER ON THE FLOOR AND WATER SHOOTING OUT OF THE VENT UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT WHEN THE HEAT IS TURNED ON. ALL OF THE WINDOWS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CAR ARE SO WET & FOGGGED UP THEY JUST DRIP. AFTER GOOGLING 2015 FORD EDGE WATER LEAKS ABOUT 20 + ARTICLES POPPED ABOUT FORD ISSUING A STOP SALE ON SOME 2015 FORD EDGE MODELS MADE BEFORE APRIL 28TH 2015 FOR WATER LEAKS THAT CAUSE CORROSION, MOLDING, AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. MY CAR WAS MADE APRIL 8 2015. I TALKED TO FORD AND SINCE IT WASNT AN ACTUAL RECALL THEY WONT ADDRESS IT. I TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO THEN TOLD ME SINCE IT OUT OF WARRANTY & THERE WASNT AN ACTUAL RECALL THAT THEY WONT EITHER. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH BICKFORD FORD THEY DECIDED TO LOOK AT IT. I BROUGHT IT IN ON DECEMEBER 18 2017 AND THEY CONTRACTED IT OUT TO A COMPANY CALLED HOGLUNDS IN EVERETT WASHINGTON. ON DECEMEBER 20 2017 BICKFORD CALLED AND TOLD ME THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE,THAT IT WAS INDEED A WATER LEAK IN THE FRAME OF THE CAR AND THAT THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE IT FIXED. ON DECEMEBER 22 2017 BICKFORD CALLED AND SAID THAT IT WAS FIXED AND READY TO PICK UP. WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD WASHED IT AND HANDED ME THEY KEYS. WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR THE FLOOR WAS MORE WET THAT IT EVER HAD BEEN BEFORE BECAUSE IT WAS WASHED AND THE WINDOWS WERE FOGGED UP. AFTER ASKING WHY IT WAS STILL WET THEY TOLD ME IT WASNT THEIR RESPONSIBLITY TO CLEAN UP THE WATER AND THEY WERE JUST GOING TO FIX THE LEAK. I THEN CALLED HOGLUNDS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A HOLE IN THE FACTORY SEAM OF THE CAR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ABOVE THE FENDER THAT CANNOT BE ACCESSED WITHOUT 30-40 HOURS OF LABOR. SO THEY HADNT ACTUALLY DONE ANYTHING WITH THE CAR.
I RECENTLY HAD A BACKSEAT PASSENGER WHO NOTICED THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF WAS CRACKED. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE CRACK HAPPENED.

THE TIRES ON OUR EDGE ARE COMING APART. THEY ARE HANKOOK AND AREN'T COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL. HANKOOK DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY ARE COMING APART BECAUSE OF DRIVING ON GRAVEL. OUR ROADS ARE BLACKTOP. ALL 4 TIRES LOOK THE SAME. PEALING AWAY FROM CORE OF TIRE.
THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE CRACK WAS CAUSED BY AN IMPACT. I AM NOT ABLE TO SEE ANY IMPACT DAMAGE. THESE WINDOWS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE STRONGER THAN STEEL. IF I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A 200LB GLASS ROOF COLLAPSING ON TOP OF ME, THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. FOR REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A DEFECT AND PUTS IT OFF ON THE CONSUMER. A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH AND CAR POWER DROPPED TO COASTING AND I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THE OIL INDICATOR CAME ON. I CALLED TRIPLE A AND THEN TRIED TO RESET THE OIL LIGHT TO RESET AND THE CAR STARTED AGAIN WITH POWER. CANCELLED TRIPLE A. CAR WAS NOT RESET AFTER OIL CHANGE. I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED!! REALLY SCARED ME.

THE AIR BAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CHEST CONTUSION, AND CAUSING A IMPLANT RUPTURE. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED MONTHS LATER AND DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,616. *TT *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER (SHEEHY FORD LINCOLN OF RICHMOND, 10601 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SUGGESTED A FEW DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO TRY ON THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF ANY WOULD REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT NONE OF THE OPTIONS WERE HELPFUL IN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS CONTINUED TO GET STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND WERE STUCK TOGETHER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,795.
I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED FORD EDGE 2015 MODEL IN JULY 2016 AT THIS DEALERSHIP. ON 9/10/17 WHILE DRIVING, I HAD A LOSS OF POWER AND SOME OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHT LIT UP. I MADE TO A PARKING LOT, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IT WORKED FINE. THEN ON 10/24/17 WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, I LOST POWER AGAIN. I COASTED THROUGH AND PULLED OVER. AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IT WORKED. I CALLED GILBERT BAUGH AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR IN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/28/17. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND ASK THEM TO LOOK AT THE CAR. LATER THE GUY CAME TO ME AND SAID THEY DROVE THE CAR AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS BUT THEY TRIED TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THERE WAS A GLITCH AND THEY CAN'T GET THE CAR TO CRANK. THEY SAID I WOULD NEED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE. I LEFT THE VEHICLE AND THEN THEY CALLED 10/30 AND SAID THAT THE COMPUTER WAS BAD AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE IT, AND IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I QUESTIONED THEM ON THIS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE WHEN I TOOK IT IN. I CALLED 11/2/17 AND THE COMPUTER WAS NOT IN YET. THEY CALLED ON 11/3 AND SAID THEY RECEIVED THE COMPUTER AND PUT IT IN BUT THAT THE CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING, WOULD NOT CRANK. I CALLED THEM AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER AND THEY THOUGHT MAYBE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR COMPUTER THEY WERE USING TO PROGRAM AND HAD CONTACTED FORD FOR ASSISTANCE. AGAIN, I WAITED TO LATER BE TOLD THAT NEW SOFTWARE WILL NEED TO BE WRITTEN BY FORD TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS NOW BEEN 5 WEEKS, MY CAR IS STILL IN THEIR SHOP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH AN ESTIMATED TIME FRAME FOR REPAIR. THEY SAID THEY ARE WAITING FOR FORD. I REQUESTED A BUYBACK THROUGH FORD, IT WAS DENIED DUE TO MY CAR HAVING APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING MY FORD EDGE, IT DEVELOPED CONDENSATION IN THE TAIL LIGHT COMPARTMENT. IT HAS PROGRESSED INTO A LEAK IN THE TAILGATE LEAVING WATER IN THE BRAKE LIGHT COMPARTMENT. SINCE THEN, THE LEAK HAS CAUSED MY LIGHTING SYSTEM TO QUIT WORKING WHICH POSES A SAFETY THREAT. THIS OBVIOUS DESIGN DEFECT POSES A SAFETY THREAT. FURTHER, I SEE MANY OTHER FORD EDGES OUT ON THE ROAD WITH THIS SAME DEFECT WHICH POSES A SAFETY THREAT TO NUMEROUS DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. ORDINARY WEAR AND TEAR COULD NOT ACCOUNT FOR THIS PROBLEM SO SOON IN THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE AND VERY SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED IT. (CERTIFIED, PRE-OWNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP). I AM A CAREFUL AND CONSCIENTIOUS OWNER, AS THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE CAR SHOWS. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO THE CAR THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS DEFECT.

IT HAS BEEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TWICE AND OF COURSE NOTHING.
