In june of 2022, the vehicle was exhibiting symptoms of hard to start especially after refueling, stalling, and poor drivability and the check engine light was illuminated. This vehicle was taken to local ford dealer (dowling ford- cheshire, ct) and diagnosed as a faulty fuel vapor separator (aka purge valve/solenoid) Ford part # f2gz-9d289-a. The dealer performed diagnosis/repair/replacement of this part at a total cost of approximately $600. The problem appeared to have been fixed, but now on 10/15/2024 the same issue re-appeared, and once again the dealer has determined same part has failed and now will cost $729 for diag/repair/replacement. This repair is just outside of the 2 year parts and labor warranty provided by ford and/or dealer. According to my online research this is a well known and common problem with these vehicles as well as many other similar ford vehicles which a recall HAS been issued for, and driver/occupant safety is gravely affected because this issue can cause stalling, poor throttle response, inability to start, and general poor driveability which seriously affects safety and cause a crash or cause driver to be unable to avoid a crash or other danger. Ford motor co and ford dealer refuses to accept responsibility for this issue and will not offer any assistance for repair. As of 10/29/24 the vehicle has not been repaired yet, and vehicle and parts are available for inspection.

My 2015 Ford Edge, with 95,000 miles, has a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that requires a new engine (Engine Long Block Kit) due to a coolant intrusion into the cylinder. Diagnostic trouble codes include PO302, PO217, and P0316 are consistent with TSB 19-2346 (See pic attached). There are also other Diagnostic trouble codes which include PO219, PO6E9, and P1026 (See pic attached) The service station that serviced my vehicle said this was the 4th Ford Edge they have seen this week with the same issue and Ford has recalled some of these vehicles but not my VIN#.

and cause in your description. am writing to formally report a recurring and dangerous issue with my 2015 Ford Edge, which is currently driven by my 16-year-old daughter. Despite reporting this problem multiple times, it remains unresolved and poses a serious safety risk. The backup camera activates while driving at high speeds, distracting the driver and creating a hazardous situation. The steering becomes unusually tight, making it difficult to maneuver the vehicle safely, especially during lane changes or emergency corrections. These issues are not only persistent but occur while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds, significantly increasing the risk of an accident. I have video documentation of the backup camera activating while driving, which I am willing to provide upon request.
My vehicle’s flex plate is defective and, after having researched this further, it is a known manufacturer’s (Ford) issue. Despite this fact, Ford has conveniently issued a “recall” that eliminates my being able to have their defective part replaced and paid for by them. Straub vs Ford Motor Company, a lawsuit filed in 2021, attests to this fact. My question is how is Ford allowed to get away with this? It shouldn’t matter how long or how many likes the consumer has on the vehicle if the defective part and subsequent need for repair is not due to any negligence on the consumer’s part. I would appreciate any assistance or guidance in how to proceed with this matter. Thank you.
The 2015 Ford Edge and similar models are notorious for flex plate cracking, which Is an absolute hazard to anyone driving it. These things can crack or shatter spontaneously, causing the engine to stop running, even mid-drive. This issue is known, yet the NHTSA hasnt deemed this as a true recall, so Ford isnt covering replacement of this part. PLEASE reconsider recalling this part!
My 2015 Ford Engine recently had engine failure. Came out of the blue. Had just undergone recall at ford dealership in Norwood, MA weeks before failure. Had just received inspection sticker weeks before failure. No warning lights came on. Suddenly started having white gray smoke coming from exhaust. Car not running properly. Smell from engine. Spoke with mechanic who said to have it towed not to drive it. Diagnosed with engine failure. Has approximately 103,000 miles on it. One owner. Routine maintenance. No issues with the car. Just noticed there is a recall in 2021-2022 ford edges with 2.7 choose engine. Sounds like my car. I have read and heard from several mechanics that this is a known problem with the Edge in particular. Would be interested in some feedback. This is a devastating expense and if this is a common theme I think Ford should be held responsible. I would appreciate a response. Thank you.

coolant intrusion in cylinders on the engine 2.7 ecoboost Ford made a bad engineering decision on the headers and block to allow coolant to flow through the gaskets to get to the other side of the cylinder. Now with a vehicle only 98K miles I'm expected to pay more than the car is worth to get it fixed or be out of a vehicle or find a scrape yard or someone to buy it off of me just to save some money. I can't trust any American auto makers with my money going forward. Auto shop Notes - The vehicle has the history code of P0316- misfire detected in the first 1,000 revolutions and P0304- Cylinder four misfire detected. The active counters was checked and it is steady on four but the other cylinders will drop random. The vehicle will smoke coolant out of the tailpipe also. This all indicates the failure of the head and/or head gasket and possible the block. This engine is known for head and block issues. It is advised to replace the engine only, repairs is not recommended do to the severe condition on the engine and the known concerns.
The panoramic sun roof has cracked suddenly due to stress. There was no damage or fracture due to an impact from a rock or other outside projectile. The glass roof has simply begun to fail due to stress. I am having this issue repaired next week, but I have taken pictures for documentation. I was able to find forums online where numerous people have complained about this issue with what appears to be years 2015-2017 Ford Edges.
While driving 45-50 mph, without any warning or indication, there was a sudden loss of power and the ability to accelerate. The engine and all electric components were still working but I was not able to accelerate, only coast. There was a wrench warning light, Hill side assist error message, and airbag warning light that showed up on the dash. After pulling over safely, the car was turned off for roughly 30 seconds and restarted. After restarting the vehicle, all systems seemed to work properly. After driving a few days and avoiding any highways, I have not had this happen again. I decided to error on the side of caution and take the vehicle to the dealership for further diagnostics. The dealership stated that they are unable to duplicate the problem. 2015 Ford Edge Titanium, AWD, V6

The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
Ford edge as far as I’m aware, have many complaints with a cracked rear taillight which builds up with water and condensation. My 2015 Ford Edge SEL has had this problem. I was told by an auto body repair shop many customers encounter this problem, it is a manufacturer defect and ford won’t hold responsibility and announce this as a recall.

Car has ~119k miles on it. Driven ~ 100 miles daily (predominantly highway). Flywheel made noise and broke within 2 days last week.
2 fly wheels have been changed with ford parts within the last 2.5 years. There is a leak coming from the lower part of the engine through the weep hole. Rear main seal was changed and now it leaks more. We cannot locate source of leak. Crank shaft "walk" is suspected. We are in the process or ordering a brand new engine to replace the existing one that has 157K miles on it.

I had this vehicle for only a year. I loved it. It then blew up and burned my house down. I lost everything.
My radiator fan will randomly turn on after my car is off and then won’t shut off until my battery is dead.
Kept up regular maintenance on car. The vehicle began to lose power while driving and took in to shop, was told the cylinders were misfiring. Had replaced twice and was told there were leaks. Engine failure.
First my front right brake line severed in 2023. I took it to Les Schwab and had it repaired and I paid for it. Later, I found out it was part of a "Recall". The local Ford Dealer said they could not reimburse me for my repair cost due to timing issues. However, they replaced both front brake lines (even though the right side had already been recently replaced). Yesterday, my rear brake line is severely damaged and leaking brake fluid and my brakes are "soft". This is not not safe. Why were only the front brake lines recalled? What about the rear brake lines? Les Schwab is trying to repair my car. They can't get a new rear brake line. They contacted Ford and were told the rear brake line comes from Minnesota and that there are none in stock in western US. According to Ford it has to be ordered and will take 2 weeks. I called several Ford numbers for Customer Service and support. They are not willing to help me out. I was told I would have to bring my car to a Ford Dealer and have it diagnosed by Ford before they could order the rear brake line. It takes 2 weeks to get an appointment. Then once Ford diagnoses my car, they will order the part which would take another 2 weeks. I can't drive my car for one month with bad brakes.! I need my vehicle to go to work. If Ford knows the front brake lines are inferior and sub par and thus subject to a recall, how can they ignore the back brake lines? How can the recall only be limited to front brakes? Furthermore, I should not have 2 separate brake lines fail on me on the same car. This is a safety issue. Why is it so difficult to get a replacement rear brake line? Something needs to be done. This is unacceptable.
Swollen Wheel Nuts
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, with the steering wheel requiring increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. The traction control and power steering warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 170,000.
2015 Ford Edge SEL with Ecoboost 2.0L left us sit while driviing with no warning whatsoever and had to be towed. Our mechanic indicated bottom of engine blew out and needs replaced and has seen this before on a Ford Edge. Vehicle regularly serviced and maintained and is in near perfect condition other than the blew engine.
My car only has 73,367 miles on it and was experiencing a misfire on #4 cylinder. My Ford dealer ran a test on it and said coolant from the 2.0 EcoBoost is leaking into the cylinder and it will burn up the engine which could lock up on me while driving. This is a known defect, but Ford has not done a recall on it. My dealer told me they have heard Ford Co helping some people with the replacement cost, so why won't they help everyone? It is ridiculous to have to get a whole new engine (which is what our dealer is suggesting) when my car has such low mileage. Is there anyone I could reach out to for help getting this defect recalled and fixed? Fortunately, I found about this danger before I drove it too long and the engine froze up on my while driving. We are senior citizens on a low fixed income and cannot afford a new car. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
There is an oil pan gasket leak on this vehicle.
When i went to the store i turned off my engine and when i came back in the car i started it and could not turn my steering wheel , Good thing this happened when i was parked.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle jerked with an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle then lost motive power. The contact was able to coast to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart, but failed to shift into drive. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.
I was recently driving home from work in rush hour traffic. At a stop light I began to accelerate and my car jerked extremely hard. Once I got to the next stoplight my Ford Edge began to shake violently. I was startled and didn’t know what to do. I was in the middle of traffic and it the shaking was incredibly scary. I got the car onto the mechanic only to be told that it’s the Torque Converter Shutter. Ford states that there’s no recall on this issue but it should be. My vehicle has less than 100k and this shouldn’t have happened.
Engine light and problem with catalytic converter 2015 ford edge sel and seat driver ac air blowing make seat cold.
Brake line that was recalled and repaired ruptured and is causing a brake fluid leak and increased pedal travel, increased braking distance, and overall unsafe driving conditions
My 2015 Ford Edge was in my garage. I opened the garage door to leave and started the vehicle. It said my hatchback was open . I got out to shut it and left the driver door open. Upon closing the hatch my vehicle began rolling backwards. I was hit in the leg and shoulder while getting out of the way of the car. I also sustained cuts on my hand from the open car door. We have a steep approach to our garage and live on an acreage with timber. The vehicle rolled down the approach to the garage and into and through the timber before it hit a tree big enough to stop it. At the body shop the repairman said he moved the car and put it in park and got out but the car then began rolling back on him as well. He was able to get in and stop it. Insurance has declared the car a total loss. I saw some 2015 edge vehicles had recalls for possibly rolling after being put in park. The NHTSA campaign id is 22v413000. My VIN number was not included in the recall so I wanted to report it in case it should have been.
Rear sunroof shattered spontaneously
I’m not a car expert. However, this suv has been rusting for some time in (1) one spot. Why? Because there seems to be a manufacture defect in or on the door body structure. I am concerned that the rust my be effecting my safety when driving and May fall off eventually. Causing injury. I can not get an explanation from FORD as the why this is happening! Other than it must be a manufacturer issue/defect etc.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in for service, the mechanic discovered that the lug nuts were deformed and very difficult to remove from the wheels. The failure was present on the lug nuts on all four wheels. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 48,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine misfired, and smoke was coming from the exhaust. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N12. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 82,959.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the defroster was activated, however, the defroster did not defrost and was inoperable. The contact's visibility was impaired, and the contact was unable to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a failed HVAC housing and HVAC housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I recently learned that there is a coolant leak in my engine in cylinder 2 which has now blown a gasket and causing the engine to fail. I was told the entire engine needs to be replaced. After doing research i learned ford release a service bulletin to address this issue but they do not accept liability for this defect. A quick google search will show many many ford customers are affected by this issue and ford needs to address the concerns and issue a recall and offer to replace the engine.
*Rear window shattered. Yes for inspection if done in next couple days before repair. *Loud bang was startling. Thought someone hit me. *No *Not yet *No
