The brake fluid is leaking rapidly. The brakes will work fine and them 30 minutes late, upon restarting the vehicle, the brakes are extremely spongey and it takes a very, very long time to brake at all. Because it occurs suddenly and without warning and no warning lights display on the dash to anticipate the issue, pedestrians are most at risk, in Ashton to putting myself and other drivers and property owners at risk of being struck.

My vehicle only has 74K miles and the Ford dealership told me I need to replace all lug nugs because they are swollen and will need to be broken off. This is a $200 cost at the dealership for replacement. If purchased at store it is $60 plus someone to change them out. No way at $74k miles this should happen. I've seen many other posts about the same this with this years model. Also since I have aluminum rims, the lugs are hard to locate anywhere. They must have the "mushroom" offset with long attachment.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the message "Engine Coolant Over temperature" was displayed. The contact pulled to the side of the road and opened the hood. Upon inspecting the coolant level, the contact noticed that there was no coolant in the vehicle. I own a 2015 Ford Edge 4 door SEL with 76k miles which I purchased in 2017 as the second owner. The dealership sold me 5 new lug nuts due to swollen original lug nuts. One lug nut cap were damaged during routine removal to replace an 8 yr old failing tire pressure sensor. I was told the lugs were swollen and had to be replaced. This seemed OBSURD. I researched this to find out that the OBSURDITY was that Ford Motor Company had been sued about this and it is a known defect of Ford vehicles. Quietly known. I am submitting this complaint because of the defective lug nuts that are a known issue, and could have been replaced at the dealership from the very first oil change or routine maintenance appointment. These defective parts routinely strand motorists or cause unnecessary excess costs to the owners when the actual fix is far less than $1 for each. when the entire vehicle uses only 20, this is negligence on the part of Ford Motor company. As a consumer on a fixed income, who purchased the bumper to bumper warranty from Ford, the neglected $20 fix of MY vehicle has cost me over $75 so far, and if the dealership (an extension of Ford Motor Company) has their way, they are happy to charge me that for my 3 remaining tires. A total consumer burden of $300 (per the dealership pricing) for a $20 fix by the manufacturer. All becuase the know problem causes a financial burden and not enough consumers have actually had physical or catestrophic accidents,... yet. A RECALL is REQUIRED. If not, there should be a required reimbursement to ALL consumers who are forced to replace the defective parts. The reimbursement should be that the dealerships seek reimbursement, and that the consumers receive the replacements free of charge.

Another car ran a red light and I unfortunately tboned them with the front of my vehicle causing my car to be totaled. Because my airbags did not go off I was thrown into the window causing a head injury and an ambulance ride to the hospital. I have yet to have it be inspected to see if there were airbags or if there was a faulty issue with them. Police stated to me that they could not believe the airbags did not go off from the crash. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance for auto damage but not an in depth look to see if there was an issue with the airbags. There were no warning lamps or messages about the airbags.

all lug nuts have swollen and do not allow me to change my own tires. I was left on the side of the road for FOUR hours because the tire changing items ford placed in my vehicle would not work on the swollen lug nuts. I had the vehicle towed to a tire shop and had to pay to replace all 20 lug nuts.
The car's ENTIRE ENGINE needed to be replaced due to coolant intrusion in cylinder three - at a cost of $7,000 - through no fault of mine. The car had had absolutely no problems up until this time, and the prescribed regular maintenance was preformed religiously. When "Googling" Ford Edge coolant intrusion, I found that numerous Ford owners with 4-cylinder turbo engines have had to have their entire engines replaced due to this apparently well-know problem. Some with less than 50k miles. I was also told by the dealership service department, that the engines have not been redesigned, so that this new $7k engine, may well develop the same problem! I am forced to pay the $7,000 repair bill, otherwise it would have no trade-in or sale value, and would just be a very large lawn ornament. This is an insanely expensive repair bill for owners, for a design flaw that apparently Ford knows well about. Please help! Thank you.
Had to replace the entire engine with only 65,000 miles on it

The failure mileage was 169,355.
At interstate highway speed and without warning, front panel of panoramic sunroof (Vista Roof) shattered, throwing shards of glass upward, rearward, and down into the sunshade. The closed cloth constructed sunshade was the only thing that prevented a barrage of glass fragments from injuring passengers in our vehicle, as the pieces remaining on the top of the sunshade were numerous. There was no warning for this, nor environmental cause that we could see. Incident happened on a rural stretch of highway, so other cars were not impacted. In a more densely traveled area and if the sunshade were open, this could have caused injury. Vehicle is being repaired by a dealer-group-affiliated body shop. Two of the manufacturer's dealerships were consulted and denied this being experienced before. They indicated this was not a repair covered by warranty or extended service contract and referred us to glass or body repair shops for advice and repair. The contact stated the driver of the vehicle suffered eye irritation for approximately two weeks following the incident before consulting a physician. Physician referred patient to an eye specialist who examined the eye and removed what was described as a clear piece of debris.

Our vehicle was making very loud noises and the cooling fan kept running. We took the car to the Ford Dealership as it has some recalls that needed to be fixed and we needed some general maintenance performed. The dealer let us know that the water pump had a crack and needed to be repaired immediately. I looked online and it appears that this is a known issues with Ford vehicles. This was a very costly repair because they had to take out the engine to be able to reach the water pump. We were advised that if this was not repaired the leak could reach the engine and cause total failure. This amounted to $3166.71 for labor and parts. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/ford-class-action-lawsuit-and-settlement-news/ford-class-action-alleges-vehicles-contain-defective-water-pumps/
I took my vehicle into Ford Dealership (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY) for service on recall parts (brake hose and gear shifter bushings). Now, just 3 weeks later I have problems with water pump as engine coolant is steadily leaking out. The Ford Dealership has a bad reputation and they claimed to have done an inspection on my vehicle before I picked it up, and problems with water pump were never mentioned. When my vehicle over heated , while driving, I pulled aside to let my engine cool off. I towed my vehicle to my local mechanic. My vehicle needs a new water pump. This is an expensive repair I cannot afford. Ford should have mentioned this to me during their inspection. I have read about class actions lawsuits against Ford for faulty water pumps on Ford vehicles.
The Panoramic Vista Glass Sunroof on my 2015 Ford Edge shows many cracks along the front edge of the glass for no apparent reasons. This was discovered recently on a calm cloudy day. I've attached some pictures at different angles. This roof has the potential to explode if going on a high speed. I'm surprise to discovered that their is no recall issue for this model, but on other Ford Models with Panoramic Glass Sunroof. Please investigate and add this Make/Model to Ford Panoramic Vista Glass Sunfoof Recall List. No vehicle should have a roof top crack for no apparent reason. I'm afraid to even open the soft divider separating the car riders from the glass sunroof.
Traveling 80mph on turnpike and lost all ability to propel vehicle forward due to broken flex plate. Car just stopped driving and steering became an issue as I coasted to the shoulder in the middle of no where miles and miles from a place of business. No warning. The only sign was a loud rattle from the bell housing. Broken flex plate happened 3 times this year 2023. First repair $2400 by AAA mechanic shop, second time (4 months later) covered by parts warranty, 3rd time (2 months later) and Ford wants $4500 and no reimbursement for the first repair.
While driving, my vehicle will lose power steering briefly. This makes the car extremely difficult to steer and has almost caused accidents repeatedly. Warning messages related to power steering assist and hill start assist appear on the screen. This happens at various points when driving: when I am turning, driving straight, pulling into parking spaces, backing up, etc. This is a reoccurring issue and has happened multiple times. There is a recall for 2015 Ford Edge describing the exact issues I am having with my vehicle. It is related to the corrosion of bolts holding the electric power steering gear motor. For some reason, my vehicle does not qualify for this, even though I live in West Virginia, one of the states listed in the recall. I have taken the vehicle to multiple Ford dealerships and have been repeatedly told that I would need to completely repair my power steering rack, but I suspect this may be related to the above recall.
The engine runs rough condition, Check Engine Light will illuminate and white exhaust smoke coming out from the tail pipe. It exibits a high consumption of coolant. Possible cause is due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder which triggers a misfire. Driving it into the free is very dangerous if you car will stall in the middle and could cause an accident.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown rate of speed, a warning message that stated that her tracking system needed to be serviced appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic determined that her RCM(restraint control module) was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact agreed to the repair; however, the dealer was unable to find the part needed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
Vehicle is at 72,511 miles and suddenly started to misfire in idle. The vehicle is displaying coolant intrusion and I have video proof of coolant dripping into the 4th cylinder while running a pressure test on the coolant system and using a borescope. There is no maintenance that could have been done to prevent this issue as it is a clear design flaw. Based on TSB: 19-2208 the only repair is an engine block replacement. This car is now at risk to overheat, fail on a busy free way, and needs a repair that is too expensive for a customer to take on due to Ford’s poor design. Someone should not have to be seriously injured or be killed in order for this recall to be issued. People deserve better and this is very unethical to not recall the engine. Please require Ford to recall this vehicle’s engine.
