The 2015 Ford Edge push button start key fob stopped working after replacing the CR2025 battery.. Now nothing works NO LOCK/UNLOCK/REMOTE START
When approaching a stop light the breaks felt less resistant and would not engage properly. Luckily we had just left home so we turned around and took a different vehicle. When we came back home there was a puddle of break fluid under the rear right tire and the break fluid reservoir was empty. Since there was already a recall in the front break hoses we are concerned there is a fault with the rear break hoses.
Water pump has died. Seems like a frequent issue with this engine as per research and seeing many class action lawsuits
My car overheated due to a problem with the ECOBOOST engine known by Ford where coolant leaked into the 4th cylinder of my engine. My mechanic used a product called Blue Devil which somewhat improved the leak but has recommended that my engine be replaced however I do not have the resources due to my disability which I am drawing disability benefits from Social Security since 2017 and also being widowed in February 2022.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, the brake pedal was mushy. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the brake hose was faulty and needed to be replaced, along with the rear brake rotors and brake pads. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,000.
I received a Customer Satisfaction Program Notice in June 2023 #22N12 regarding the flex plate, transmission fluid pump and torque converter but the 100% coverage ended on 2/28/23. I was told by Ford on 7/3/23 that I should have received the notification in September 2022 but I did not. The representative told me that others have reported same problem in the last week or so. The Complaint number given to me by Ford is CAS43676484. I also submitted another complaint with nhtsa.gov number 11530072. I am unable to pay for this repair due to being on SS Disability since 2017 and also becoming a widow on 2/12/22. Please contact me with any available assistance with these issues which I was not properly notified of and am suffering hardship due to problems known by Ford with my vehicle I purchased in good faith.
The vehicle was in park, idling. We heard a pop sound and discovered the rear windshield had exploded. There was no one near or around the vehicle. I had heard this was a common issue with the Ford Edge.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle was shuddering, and there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the hood. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the flex plate was fractured, which caused damages to the flywheel, the torque converter, and the transmission fluid pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 22N12. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
I own a 2015 sport edge that got serviced from the dealership at the beginning of the year 2023 for a rattling noice, loss of power, and a shut off problem while been operated on the highway. Expenses where paid out of pocket twice for the same reasons but now in July 2023 I received a recall letter 22N12 about this problem and after getting another diagnosis from the dealership I've been advised that a new engine is needed and that ford will not cover any expenses even after the recall 22N12 stating that the problems I'm having with my car are the same diagnosis the dealership gave me months ago but now this recall for some reason is not available even thou is was a manufacturer issue. Thanks but this issue put my family at risk multiple times while operating the vehicle after a recall was created and never fixed by ford.
2015 FORD EDGE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO THE DEFECTIVE FLEXPLATE. THE CONSUMER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE BUT REQUESTING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL REPAIRS AND ATTORNEY FEES.
Faulty water pump leak which is extremely expensive to repair due to manufacturer encasing it inside the timing belt chain. I cannot afford a $5K repair for something that should be extremely more affordable due to Ford’s scheme to acquire more money to repair. Standard mechanics cannot complete tasks due to the severity of the job as well as specialized tools required including lifting the car. These water pump, according to what I was informed was designed to last at least 150K miles.
Rear brake lines split while driving no warning just couldn’t stop all the way.
Been mis fire codes and air leak codes. now dealer say coolant get to cyclinders , need new engine. seems there is class action law suit filed for this issue
Car steering HUGH safety issues 12/29/2022 Drove vehicle to store, parked vehicle, returned to vehicle and was not able to turn steering wheel to leave. Light came on for the first time, when starting vehicle indicating a problem. There was no indication of a problem with the steering, prior to the steering failure. This Could have caused a severe accident if this had occurred while driving. Took in in for repair.3100 cost. Noted other recalls on steering for 2015 edge. Mechanic was not able to determine why it failed said it was an internal part failure. Please contact me regarding follow up
(First incident) Went to replace wiper blades as they were chattering. Lifted driver side arm and wiper blade fell right off without any intervention. (Second incident) Installed Bosch Icon wiper blades as they were supposed to be the best on the market. My wife was driving home at the start of the blizzard 12/21/2022 in Iowa and once again, the driver’s side wiper blade fell off while in use. Extremely dangerous situation for her and everyone else she met on the highway.
At random times, while driving at freeway speeds, the engine will suddenly start to decelerate and the RPM's will rev high. There is seemingly known "trigger" for this as it happens intermittently and has happened while driving a flat surface at a steady speed or when at a slight incline or decline. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all, sometimes it happens after a couple of hours into a trip, sometimes is happens after 20 minutes on the road. It's quite terrifying because you are unable to accelerate suddenly. At freeway speeds, this is dangerous and can cause an accident if you are unable to get over, out of the way of other drivers. I have noticed that if you can pull over and safely stop, once the car is turned off and back on, it seems to "reset" and will drive correctly for a while before happening again.
While driving forward at various speeds (usually above 35 mph) the backup camera will engage and the transmission indicator will become blank (from "D") - and Wrench warning light came on during most recent events. It has happened about a dozen times sporadically over the past year and lasts for half minute to several minutes. It happens without warning. Dealer at first told me they could not analyze the problem unless they saw it happen. In Oct 22 when car was in shop for 2 other recall repairs, dealer said they would analyze it, charged me $145 with notation: 'checked for codes and found P0709 in continuous memory. PPT instructs to clear codes and test drive. Test drove 5 miles and found concern did not return at this time. Gave est on tr sensor due to suspected intermittent internal fault." I declined paying for repair because this does not seem to be normal wear and tear and I am doing nothing to cause the problem with how I operate the car.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V469000 (Service Brakes, Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 22V413000 (Power Train) and was informed that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was not illuminated before the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
Car shuts down when driving. Will lose all power and when I pull over and restart, everything is fine until the next episode, which is happening more frequently. No warning lights come on, nothing. Techs cannot find the issue. This is a common problem that is going unresolved on this and other models, and nothing is being done about it. This is a huge safety concern that needs addressed before someone is killed.
I used the remote start to warm up my car, went outside got in shut my car door and before I could push the break and hit the start button my rear window shattered.

The windshield shattered, no collision. Just simply shattered. Cooler than ambient temperatures outside, I was using the rear defrost before the damage accrued.
Steering gear is failed. Grinding and roaring. Told recall was performed before I purchased the vehicle. Was wondering if there liable to replace the rack and pinion steering system or am I. Told not to drive became it's failing. Thank you. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
My car all of a sudden started making a very loud clanging noise on start up. I took to Ford Dealer in Devine. Service said it sounded like a belt, but no one could actually look at it since they were backed up for 3 weeks. I spoke to [XXX] there. My husband took two different mechanics and they both said fly wheel. We told them to fix. When mechanic got in there to change he said that the flywheel was cracked in 4 places. It has almost ready to completely fall apart. He said that was not normal for a flywheel to do that. After doing some reach we found out that this happened to many Ford Edges (different years) and the short block is the problem. This could have ended very badly if flywheel would have went to pieces while driving. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Water pump failed. This has been confirmed by an independent service center. Found this issues as the car leaked entire reseviour of coolant. Fortunately this was found while the car was parked. However the issue makes the car immediate undriveable to prevent further damage and has to be towed. Were it not found while parked, the engine would have completely shut down in motion. Approximately a $2,500 repair as it currenlty sits.
Currently my 2015 Ford Edge 2.0 Eco boost has a blown motor. This is due to an issue that Ford currently knows about. However ford has only done a recall on the 1.5 Eco boost. June 9th 2022 Ford put out to dealerships a Technical Service Bulletin stating there is a known issue with the motor. Coolent can leak into the motors causes them to blow, misfire, and potentially catch on fire. I feel that this is a huge safety issue as well as cost to the consumers. I have attached below the TSB from ford stating they know of the issue and the current recall in the 1.5 eco boost motors.
9/28/2022 after tire rotation, the mechanic notes "Technician noted lug nuts are swelling. Should replace at next tire rotation. $10.00 per nut plus labor" ALL FOUR TIRES

Moonroof stuck open. Motor will not work. Cannot close moonroof or shade. I had to use a tarp to cover the hole in the roof until I could get it to the dealer to close the roof. They charged me $114.40 plus tax. They advised I not try to open it again because it may never close. Sea Breeze Ford mechanic told me the repair would be between $2K and $7K. This is outrageous. My personal mechanic said I should contact Ford directly for a resolution. I did and they said there is nothing they can do since there is no recall at the moment. I am now contacting your department for help.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the rear trunk door would intermittently fail to open and on other occasions would not stay closed. I had my engine light come on several months ago. Driving down the highway, my car went from 55 to 20 mph and that’s all the faster I could get it to accelerate.Took to a mechanic and hooked it up to his reader and showed it was an engine misfire. Oil and fluids have been changed on time every year. The car has less than 60,000 miles on it. Lost heat and here there was very low coolant. Replenished the coolant and the next day was gone. Took back to mechanic and there was no external leak. Upon further inspections, it was determined that the coolant is leaking into the engine and only solution is a complete engine replacement. This is a huge safety issue. I am so thankful that I was driving on the highway with no traffic that day or it could have been a lot worse. Please make this issue into an immediate recall for the safety of all us drivers with these vehicles.

The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the engine misfired due to coolant leaking into cylinder #2, the engine block, and the engine oil, causing damage to the spark plugs again. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that there was sludge in the engine oil and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
