I had a sudden loss of brakes. As I applied the brakes for an up coming stop sign the brakes initially engaged and briefly slowed the car as the brake petal continued to the floor. Only after pumping the pedal was I able to completely stop. No warning light was ever displayed. Service was accomplished and it was determined that a right rear brake line had suddenly failed. I believe this to be a serious threat to safety. This vehicle now has 63,166 miles on it and has been garage kept and never exposed to salt or other corrosive material for any length of time. Thank You.
While driving my 2015 Ford edge my brakes went completely out almost causing me to slam into the vehicle ahead of me. My brake fluid was completely gone. I had previously called about the recall as stated in the letter months ago and was told the parts were not available and I would be contacted as soon as they are. I was never told NOT TO DRIVE my car. This is my only means of transportation and now they are saying parts are in but there is a possible 2 to 3mnth wait period with no loaners available. This is unacceptable and Ford cus service hasn't been any help.

Car Shimmy's when hitting a bump or rough pavement. If this happens when road surface is wet or icy I feel car will slide enough to cause accident.
After experiencing a flat tire on an Interstate, we discovereed the Ford-supplied lug wrench could not fit over the lug nuts without the person helping laying across a lane on the interestate and kicking the lug wrench over the lug nut. And, then, disengaging the lug wrench took extreme effort. The person helping me could have been killed by traffic ignoring the position of my car. There is ample reference to the lug nut problem on Google'd Web pages. The lug nuts on our Edge have not been inspected, yet. No warning lamps apply to this problem.

The rear liftgate closes unexpectedly. If gives a warning sound which you can hear if you're not in a noisy area and then closes. I've been struck several times but managed to get out of the way. The liftgate sensor has been replaced but the finicky liftgate is still malfunctioning. I am unable to stop it from closing and it won't open again until it has latched. The torque on this could break a bone. I've read many stories of this happening to other Ford owners who've received concussions. This could kill someone.
The steering locked up while driving the vehicle. There was a recall on this defect but my VIN evidently isn't covered. The recall # is 19S26, dated 8/28/2019, and it includes the 2015 Ford Edge. We had it towed to a Ford service provider. The dealer is going to fix it and the cost is estimated to be $3200. Ford Broadway in Green Bay, WI will be doing the work. I talked with them, Ford Motor Company and directly to someone with NHTSA and didn't get anywhere. The problem experienced and the solution recommended sounds exactly like recall 19S26, but for whatever reason, my VIN is not included in the recall. There are state of registration requirements that seem to be tied to cold weather and corrosion caused by salt from icy roads. Maybe it was originally registered in a warm weather state? Maybe the repair was already done once? It seems logical that this problem would be covered by Ford since it actually had a recall on the exact issue. Hoping we can have my VIN # included in the recall so that the cost can be covered by the manufacturer. Thank you.
The contact called on behalf of his wife who owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after his wife had parked and exited the vehicle with the door still opened, the vehicle inadvertently reversed, causing damage to the driver’s side door. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
We have had the Ford Edge for 2 and half years. In that time we have had to replace the oil pan and get it resealed 7 or 8 times. This is because it starts to leak because the seal goes bad. It is a liquid seal and a plastic oil pan. Ford knows this is a known issue but will not recall it.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in reverse, the backup camera failed to operate, with an error message to “See the Dealer” displayed on the infotainment screen. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed her that the failure was common and referred her to the dealer for assistance. The dealer nor the manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.
The contact owned a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that upon entering a car wash, she placed the gear shifter into neutral(N); however, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The side curtain airbags deployed upon impact; however, the driver side air bag only partially deployed. The contact sustained minor scratches and bruises but did not seek medical assistance. The contact expressed that she experienced mental trauma days following the accident. The other driver did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The contact was not notified of any property to the car wash was damaged due to the accident. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard and was destroyed. Wife was on a trip. On April 27 2022 there were no warning lights or messages that she noticed. On arriving at her destination, tried to open rear hatch several times. Also tried button on the dash and attempts to manually pull up on hatch nothing would open it. Crawled into back to retrieve luggage then locked the vehicle for the night. Next morning tried to unlock the passenger door and would not work. Seemed that battery was to low to allow door lock to operate. Called tow service next morning. Service opened door and had to charge battery. Service said hatch not closed sufficient to let entry lights to stay on discharging the battery. At that time, dash button opened the hatch for technician. Ran car enough to charge battery. Wife left for return trip later on April 30 2022, at which time hatch would again not open. This is a safety issue If not able to open hatch to escape the vehicle in emergency or if power is lost. There is also no hatch emergency release for quick escape from vehicle. At this time the problem still exists. It is May 1 2022. I am calling Ford dealer and insurance rep. tomorrow May 2, 2022 to ask about this problem and see if any recalls apply. Please recall because of this issue. Thank you.

While driving a very loud noise was coming from the rear end of SUV
EcoBoost engine has a design flaw in the engine block and cylinder head that allow coolant to leaks into the cylinder
Internal water pump failer - the water pump on my vehicle failed and began leaking. This is my wife's vehicle and if I had not noticed the issue (which is not easy to notice) then the water pump will leak water into the engine and cause the motor to lock up or seize without warning.
I bought this vehicle and within 2 hours engine light came on. It was diagnosed cylinder 1 misfire. After spending $700 later on spark plugs, engine coil pack, oil change, rear differential, and engine oil flush, it was diagnosed with a coolant leak into the engine. Within 3 weeks of buying the vehicle i now have to replace the whole engine. This is costly- and shouldn’t be happening. Ford should be replacing this free of cost with as many issues and people have this problem rather than just submitting a service bulletin.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated, and a message of cylinder #2 misfire was displayed. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who stated that coolant was leaking into the cylinder causing the misfire. The contact was informed that the failure was not covered under the warranty. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 147,410.
Vehicle was parked inside my garage I had used earlier in the day. I heard a loud noise and went out to find the rear window had exploded on its own . There was bits of glass all over the garage floor and cracks running through the window and I could hear it popping as I stood there. Dealer stated this is not covered. The window was not damaged prior to exploding . When I contacted Safelite, they asked if it was an Edge, they had been seeing a few of them. I have photos available.
LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE RUPTURED; RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE.
The car has multiple rust locations on the car and peeling at an alarming rate. Vehicle is available for inspection. In reviewing the origin report; it appears the car was built from scrape and unknown to purchaser. Door may fall off! Inspected by Liberty Ford. Sold at well above lot price. No recall yet. Door may fall off etc.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that when she turns off the vehicle after driving and later attempts to restart, the vehicle would fail to start and the steering wheel would seize. The contact stated that the vehicle would indicate that there was a system reset, and the failure would reoccur. A jump start was required in order to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle would drive normally for a few days, and the failure would reoccur. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who checked the battery and alternator, which they found no issue with. The contact stated the dealer then advised her that there was a recall with the same failure she was experiencing on her same year, make, and model vehicle NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V733000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL), however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact stated that she contacted the manufacturer and was advised to contact NHTSA. The failure mileage was 75,000
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle hesitated to start and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who retrieved codes P456 and P1540. The mechanic stated that the failure was caused by the purge valve assembly. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while reversing into a parking space, she shifted into drive(D) and depressed the accelerator pedal but the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and shifted into drive(D) again and the vehicle then responded. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving on the highway. The contact had shifted into drive(D) however, the transmission shifted into drive two(D2) inadvertently. The contact veered to the side of the road and shifted into drive(D). The contact was able to continue driving. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) which she associated with the failure. However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.
According to Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney, Texas, they are unable to rotate the tires on my vehicle because the lug nuts are swollen and would have to be cut off and replaced to fix. This leaves me with an unsafe vehicle and an inability to change the tire should I have a flat.
Wire harness worn through in passenger door. Wire harness retaining clip is located incorrectly and not attached causing the wire harness to rub on the inner door frame brace causing the power window motor to burn out filling the cabin with smoke possible fire danger.
Lugnuts have inflated and stripped on the wheel.
Driving on the interstate at 60 miles an hour the vehicle randomly lost all propulsion and died, which caused an immediate quick slowdown and almost caused a 4 car/semi pileup. Causing me to hit the ditch to avoid being killed by a semi. Vehicle no longer starts. Appears to be a faulty flexplate that caused engine and transmission issues to which Ford has been no help. FORD has only recalled the 2017 edge 2.0 for the flexplate issues despite the same engine being used in the 2015-2018 models. Countless mentions of faulty flex plates in the model year range with the same engine but Ford refuses to address the mass issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that on several occasions when the vehicle was started, the radio control panel became inoperable, and the defroster failed to operate as needed. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the front interface control module was replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Rear window shattered on its own. I know it sounds crazy but it happened to me. The window blew up right above my head. I searched it on Google it actually happens a lot on this suv. A little odd there’s no recall on the window just magically shattering.
While driving my 2015 Ford Edge the Power Steering stopped working, the dashboard lite up. I stopped the SUV. and was unable to drive. I took it to my local garage and they pulled codes and diagnosed a bad Power Steering rack and pinon. Located a used one for $350.00 had that installed but did not work! I had to buy a new one at a cost of $1492.36 . The total cost between parts and labor was over $2500.00 The garage that did all the work took it upon it self to take apart the original Rack and Pinon to see what happened to it?? They found that the seal between the two halves on the Rack and Pinon had failed and that water had gotten into the unit and ruined the electronics inside it. The recall on the bolts was done , but problem should up shortly after? I FEEL THIS IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE UNIT AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BY THE NHTSA further, because this could of caused a serious crash!!
Vehicle suddenly accelerated uncontrollably. Incident occurred in a parking lot. Car spun around, but no damage was sustained. Incident lasted for about 30 seconds and then vehicle shut off completely. Dealer performed diagnostic but could not find any problems.
The flex plate on the vehicle has broken twice within 10000 miles. This is most certainly a manufacturer defect. The vehicle then runs rough, has a loss of power along with transmission shifting issues and can nearly die or not accelerate properly while driving, leading to several near collisions which could result serious injury or death.
On my driver side floor floor, there's a puddle of water that will not evaporate. And it's starting to make the carpet smell musty. What is causing the water not to drain?
Ford dealer told me the lug nuts were a bad two piece design and he has had to replace many of them by drilling out the studs and replacing them. Encouraged proactively replacing the 2 piece lug nuts with a new one piece design for a cost of $128 for 4 tires. Not covered by warranty/extended but this seems ridiculous for a vehicle that's 6 yrs old. I see lots of references on the internet to this issue. Seems like a straightforward bad design and obvious recall issue.

I received the recall letter dated October 2019 and have called several times to get this part replaced. Each time I was told they are awaiting parts. It soon will be year 2022 and this part is still not available. How can they authorize dealers to repair and not provide the parts. This is totally unacceptable for them to keep stating they don't have the parts. This was way before COVID so they can't use that as an excuse. I have had this automobile at least 3 years and it was expensive and I feel like I got ripped off and now own junk.
The factory installed lugs nuts have become swollen and now the lug nut wrench which is provided by Ford does NOT fit the lug nuts! If I tried to change a flat tire I would be unable to do this since the lug nut wrench does NOT fit the lug nuts!!!!
