I was driving on highway and noticed a bit of rough engine noise, check engine light came on, and gas mileage dropped. I took 2015 edge to my mechanic who stated #2 cylinder was taking on coolant and engine needed to be replaced due to problems. He also stated his mechanic chatroom has numerous comments concerning this same problem with Ford engines. I went on CAR Guru chatroom and on 1st page there were 58 people complaining about the same thing from a year ago. Many found out there is a Ford TSB(Technical Service Bulliten) sent to their techs concerning this common problem causing engine replacements. Engine can blow the head at highway speeds and God knows what can happen. Do we need deaths caused by this before action is taken? PLEASE HELP!
Brake flexible hoses split and brake fluid leaked, causing brakes to become unusable. Light came on indicating low brake fluid level on 9/14/21. Service manager at local Ford dealership confirmed on the phone that my mechanic could fix it and I would be repaid, but now he is denying my refund.
Originally got recall notice in May 2021. Called my Ford dealership and they said they could not repair because they did not currently have the parts. Called again a few months later and made an appointment - day before appointment the dealership called to cancel because they still did not have parts. On September 14th my brake lights went on and I could not brake properly, they were very spongy. I brought my car to my mechanic and he said the brake fluid was leaking and the hose had to be replaced, and that the car was undrivable. Called my dealership and the manager agreed to reimburse my mechanic's repairs, along with the rental car I needed. After the car was fixed the manager went back on his word and denied promising reimbursement, and now I am out $266.75 for repairs and $647.93 for the car rental
Failed Part: Shift cable attachment at the transmission; Safety Risk: Unable to shift gears from inside the cabin making driving hazardous; Confirmed By: Tow truck driver and 2 independent service centers; Inspected By: Tow truck driver and 2 independent service centers; Warnings: None; The shift cable bushing has been recalled on other Ford models built during the same time period. I'm reporting as this may be related. This occurred in a parking lot. I reversed out of my parking spot, put the gear shift in drive, but the car was still in reverse. Roadside assistance was called. He showed me that the shift cable was not attached to the transmission. He was able to place the cable so that I could drive it a short distance to a service station for repair. The car is currently being repaired by an independent service center.
Swollen or warped lug nuts.
The liftgate consistently shows ajar and battery dies. Replaced liftgate latch and still doesn’t work properly.

The driver noticed that the back over prevention camera was activated and depressed the brake pedal. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed with the gear linkage needing to be replaced due to the cable being stretched. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000. The Vin was not available.
The engine flexplate cracked and disconnected from the torque converter. The vehicle lost the ability to move and left the vehicle stranded in the traffic lanes, nearly causing a major accident.

The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the brake pedal felt soft when depressed, causing 10 feet stopping distance delay. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Automobile was making a loud rattling noise. More noticeable at idle. The rattling noise then became loudest with start-up. Temperature gauge increased, but did not get to overheat as the vehicle was discontinued from driving. Towed to Kenny Ross Ford Route 30 @ Blackhill Road Adamsburg, PA 15611. Initial evaluation done by Kenny Ross Ford: Cracked Flexplate. Further evaluation is currently being done for further damage with pictures taken. This problem has been well made to FORD in 2015-2018 FORD EDGE models with technical service bulletins issued. Class action lawsuits are being conducted. There is no reason for a cracked flexplate except a manufacturer error. Communication has been poor with Kenny Ross Ford, as phone calls are not answered or voicemail messages not returned. Thank you.
While driving approx. 10 MPH engine lost power and went into limp mode on public road. Vehicle engine light, traction control light, emergency service, and warning lights all came on. Vehicle managed to get to a safe off road condition. Vehicle was restarted and condition did not clear. Limp mode approx. 1 mile home. Reading up on situation ford has had Electronic throttle body issues that match all symptoms, Customer Satisfaction Program 16B32. Car is going to ford ASAP for inspection and diagnostic. Before this incident only few problems with the car. Premature battery Failure 2x, and door electronics failing to open windows and lock unlock vehicle.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR STARTED TO SHOW BUBBLING/ PEELING PAINT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. MADE SEVERAL CONTACTS WITH DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY COULD TELL ME WHY! NO HELP OR ASSISTANCE FROM THEM TO FIND OUT IF MY CAR WAS DAMAGED AND/OR REPAIRED PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. NO RESPONSE OR ANSWER FROM THEM. IN TALKING WITH A FORD BODY REPAIR PERSON; HE SEEMS TO FEEL THE CAR DOOR WAS REPAIRED AND/OR PARTIALLY REPAIRED. AND NOW RUSTING AGAIN! HOWEVER, I HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD THAT SEVERAL OTHER FORDS HAVE HAD RUSTING ISSUED FOR SOMETIME NOW!! POSSIBLY A RECALL ISSUE! I WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER FROM FORD ON WHY THIS HAPPENING TO FORD CARS. AND, MINE ESPECIALLY!!! SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT IN DODGE WHEN EVERYONE AT THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP DID NOT RESPOND. *THIS IS NOT AN ACCIDENT ISSUE. IT'S ABOUT A QUALITY OF CAR RUSTING AWAY!

On June 23rd, I turned on my 2015 Ford Edge and heard a knocking/rattling noise coming from the engine that I had never heard before. It got worse when the A/C was on and while idling. It somewhat subsided while accelerating but became very loud again when I came to a stop. I took it to my local mechanic that is Ford trained, and after putting the car up, he indicated that he thought it was a broken Flex Plate. He said it was good that I had come in because if I had ignored it and been driving on the freeway, my car could have just shut off - which I think we can agree is highly dangerous. There was never a warning light or any indication of a problem prior to hearing the rattling/knocking sound on June 23rd. My mechanic advised me to call Ford to see if there was anything they would be willing to do as the repair was costly. I called my local Ford dealership in Irvine, CA on Thursday, June 24th and the service manager said that since it went out of warranty in Oct 2020, that the repair would be out of pocket. My mechanic then advised me to call Ford Motor Company in Michigan to see if there was anything they could do or provide assistance with. I spoke with "[XXX]" at 11:30am, and she advised me that there were no programs available for my vehicle. I was in disbelief considering there is a recall on the very same part for 2016-2017 Ford Edges. She apologized and said there was nothing they could do. She provided a case number #[XXX] and said she would let her engineering department and the NHTSA. The total cost of the repair was $1,819.64 and the cost of my rental from Enterprise for the 5 days was $611.74. I have photos of the repair process as well as the actual cracked flexplate part. This should not happen on a vehicle with 44k miles on it and I certainly should not be footing the bill for it when Ford [XXX] well knows this is a manufacturing problem on their part. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I got a letter from Fords I could schedule recall. Now dealers say they dont have the part for the recall and don't know when they will get it in South Carolina.
Car purchased as a CPO vehicle with 40,318 miles. Soon after I had regular maintenance service on 3/27/21 at 47,350 miles the car began to drag and the wheel on the driver side had a harder drive. I reported to my Ford service Dept and finally got an appointment on 5/07/21 at 47,921 miles and they could not duplicate the car’s reported actions. So thinking all was ok,I took a road trip stating at 48,500 miles and at 49,310 miles the engine light came on initial code 301 by auto zone power train problem. Called local Ford Service Dept their findings, code P0301 and P0316 and I need a Long Block, when I goggle it,it translated into a ENGINE. I decline and they gave me 1 spark plug and gallon container of antifreeze so I can get back home. And told me to check reservoir at every fill up. I put a little over 9,000 miles and this car needs a new engine, that’s ludicrous. I did some research once I got home. For dealers received a month before they sold me this car a warning of engine problems where the antifreeze was going into the cylinders causing a misfire. I have an appointment with my local dealer, but from the way the car is acting the prognosis doesn’t seem any different from the out of town Ford service dept. How can they do this and not inform the customer.
I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE MY RECALL REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED! I WAS GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT SEVERAL WEEKS AGO AND IT WAS CANCELLED DUE TO PART NOT PROVIDED TO DEALERSHIP FOR MY REPAIR. PREVIOUS TO MY GOING INTO THE SHOP, A LETTER HAD BEEN SENT PROVIDING A DATE TO COME IN. STILL NO RESCHEDUAL DATE. IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS RESOVED!
This is the second time in a year that the brakes in our vehicle have stopped working. The pedal goes all the way to the ground and does not completely stop the car. We had the issue dealt with last year at the dealership where we had our vehicle towed to. It was only then that we were notified that there was a recall on the hose that may affect the brakes and other functions of the vehicle. It was replaced. This has now happened a second time while my husband and 2.5 year old were driving home. If he was not able to have some control over the vehicle he and my child could have been killed or someone else on the road. I called the dealership to let them know that the car would be towed again and told the issue. They confirmed we dealt with this same issue just one year ago and I asked why is this happening and this is so unacceptable as my family's safety is at risk. I asked if there are any recalls or issues with the make and model that we should be aware of. After looking up the vehicle she then informed us there was indeed a recall for the flex hose which could cause leaks and affect the brakes. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. Due to where the leak is coming from it seems to be the left side of the vehicle now which tells me the dealership only replaced one of the hoses and not both causing this to happen again. This is negligence and I am beyond frustrated at the thought of what could have happened and I don't think waiting until someone is killed is the right time to fix this issue. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure, it just happened while driving and trying to stop.
My panoramic vista sunroof has cracked. The cracks are wavy and everywhere on the rear passenger side. This cracked at 52k miles I also have just replaced the flex plate that cost me $2,275 and 1 month without driving my vehicle. I have 68k miles on this vehicle currently. My transmission fluid was BLACK when they replaced my flexplate as well.

My panoramic sunroof has a stress fracture crack in it. There was no rock that struck it or anything else. My vehicle has not been in any accident. I opened the shade to let the sun shine through and discovered the crack. My husband and I have done research and found that a lot of these have shattered. We understand there is not a recall on these. Is there anything that can be done?
I GOT THE RECALL LETTER EARLY 2020, THE FIX WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILIABLE NEAR THE END OF 2020 AND HERE IT IS ALMOST MID 2021 WITH NO FIX OR ANOTHER LETTER TO SCHEDULE THE FIX. MY BRAKE PEDAL IS TRAVELLING FURTHER THAN IT SHOULD AND IT LOOKS TO BE LEAKING BRAKE FLUID A BIT ON THE GROUND
AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD. I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY CHILD AT THE TIME AND BEING UNSURE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON I DROVE THE VEHICLE ACROSS A BRIDGE BACK TO MY COUNTY TO THE CLOSEST REPAIR FACILITY I COULD GET TOO. I HAD BARELY MISSED HITTING THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME SINCE IT WOULD NOT STOP ALL THE WAY. AFTER THE TECH CHECKED IT OUT, IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND THE HOSE WAS BUSTED. HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SINCE IT SHOULD HAD BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEN FOUND OUT IT WAS A RECALL THAT WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY DOCUMENTATION ABOUT. THIS IS UNSATISFACTORY SINCE IT PUT MYSELF AND MY CHILD IN DANGER .
