I WAS DRIVING DURING MY NORMAL ROUTINE, FROM PICKING UP MY BABY AT DAYCARE TO GO HOME WHEN A RATTLE NOISE SUDDENLY STARTED. IT WAS NOT TOO LOUD IN THE BEGINNING, BUT AS I APPROACHED THE HOUSE, THE NOISE STARTED GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER MOSTLY WHEN IDLING AT STOP SIGNS OR RED LIGHTS, FOR EXAMPLE. THE 2015 FORD EDGE AWD 2.0 L ECOBOOST IS 4.5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 66,000 MILES. THE DAY AFTER, I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FLEX PLATE WAS BROKEN AND SO IS PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING THAT IS ATTACHED TO IT INCLUDING THE CRANKSHAFT, TORQUE CONVERTER, AND FLUID PUMP AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE. FORD PROVIDED ME A CASE NUMBER, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. I WAS QUOTED $7,300 TO FIX THE VEHICLE. A PROBLEM WITH A FLEX PLATE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AS I'M UNDERSTANDING THAT THEY TRANSMIT THE POWER FROM YOUR ENGINE TO THE TRANSMISSION. I COULD HAVE LOST MY ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE'S POWER. A BAD FLEX PLATE COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A LOSS OF POWER TO THE WHEELS AND RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION, THE FLEX PLATE BROKE THE CRANK SHAFT AND TORQUE CONVERTER, WHICH ALSO PREVENTS THE ENGINE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. MY VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND THIS HAS HAPPENED ALREADY WITH IT. I'M FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT SUFFERED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS.
THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAS SPIDER WEB CRACKS. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE WINDOW OR CAR AND NO EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGE. IT WAS IN THE GARAGE WHEN WE NOTICED IT. *TR
MILEAGE AT EVENT: 79,000 ON 2/14/20 A RUMBLING NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD BEGAN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE, MORE PRONOUNCED AT START-UP, AND THE NOISE SUBSIDED WHEN UNDER POWER. TOOK TO DEALER ON 2/20/20 AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. NOISE CONTINUED AT START-UP AND WHEN AT IDLE. ON 2/25/20 WHILE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, ALL PROPULSIVE POWER WAS LOST YET ENGINE COULD STILL REV AND ALL POWER FUNCTIONS REMAINED (STEERING, BREAKING, AUXILIARY POWER, ETC.). PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED ENGINE OFF. COULD NOT RE-START VEHICLE AND VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. INITIAL INSPECTION SHOWED THAT THE FLEXPLATE HAD SPLIT INTO TWO PIECES. ONE INNER PORTION REMAINED CONNECTED TO THE CRANKSHAFT, THE OTHER OUTER PORTION CONNECTED TO THE TORQUE CONVERTER. (SEE ATTACHED PICTURE OF FLEXPLATE.) DURING THE FAILURE, THE BROKEN FLEXPLATE DESTROYED THE BENDIX GEAR ON THE STARTER WHICH WAS ALSO REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CRANKSHAFT SEAL WAS REPLACED WHICH INDICATES AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE MAY BE THE ROOT CAUSE. THIS IS SIMILAR TO PREVIOUSLY REPORTED COMPLAINTS WITH NHTSA IDS (11218798, 11194165, 111277542, 11204923) AND RELATED TO FORD SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2236 (DATED 06 AUGUST 2019) AS WELL AS FORD COMMUNICATION SSM 47398 (NHTSA ID 10144200). OF THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS, TWO HAVE HAD REPEAT FAILURES, LIKELY INDICATING AN INHERENT ALIGNMENT AND ENGINEERING FLAW WITH THE VEHICLE. NOTE THAT THE 2015 FORD EDGE WAS THE FIRST FORD VEHICLE TO HAVE THE 2ND GENERATION 2.0 L ECOBOOST GTDI WITH TWIN-SCROLL TURBO. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF FLEXPLATE FAILURES AS MORE 2015 - 2018 FORD EDGES REACH THE ~75,000 MILE MARK. SAFETY COMMENT: THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT 70 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD CRACK AND LOST ALL PROPULSIVE POWER. WHILE I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GLIDE TO A STOP, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MORE DANGEROUS AT A HIGH TRAFFIC TIME.

CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH CEASED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEST REPAIRED BY AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DOWNS FORD, INC. 360 NEW JERSEY AVE 37, TOMS RIVER, NJ 08753, (877) 868-1848) WHERE THE PROGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 19V632000 (STEERING) AND 15V250000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, AN ABNORMALLY LOUD SOUND EMANATED FROM THE ENGINE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FLEX PLATE ON THE FLYWHEEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. CORWIN FORD TRI CITIES LOCATED AT (1225 N AUTO PLEX WAY, PASCO, WA 99301, (888) 379-9774, WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 109,000.
WHILE PARKED IN MY HOME GARAGE, ABOUT 3-5 MIN AFTER TURNING OFF MY VEHICLE, THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED AND SHATTERED. THE EXPLOSION WAS LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE INSIDE THE HOUSE WITH THE GARAGE DOOR SHUT. TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY 8:30 PM. PRIOR TO PARKING THE CAR I HAD COMMUTED APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES FROM WORK. I DID USE THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROST FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OF THE COMMUTE, BUT HAD SWITCHED TO NORMAL AUTO TEMPERATURE CONTROL FOR MOST OF THE DRIVE. IT WAS ABOUT 35 DEGREES OUTSIDE.
The Flex Plate (flywheel) cracked twice now, First time was at 62,000 miles and second time was at 81,000. My safety was at risk the first time due to the fact I had just entered the Interstate and loss all power to the engine as my oil pan and crankshaft seals also gave way and all engine oil was drained out with no engine oil warning what-so-ever. This nearly caused a Semi to rear end me as I limped over to the edge of the road powerless. The wrench appeared earlier that morning denoting a transmission issue for the first time as I was driving to work, then at lunch time it died on the Interstate with no warning indicators at all. The second time it cracked I was also driving 75mph on the Interstate saw the wrench and heard a loud grinding noise and the engine would just rev up when I pressed the gas. I pulled over safely without issues, but the flex plate cracked again and took out the transmission this time. Both repairs were completed at a Ford Dealership and neither repairs were warrantied or covered by Ford
LUG NUTS COULD NOT BE REMOVED WITH MANUFACTURER'S LUG NUT WRENCH, AFTER A TIRE DEFLATED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75 IN KENTUCKY. THE WRENCH WOULD NOT FIT OVER THE LUG NUTS. AN AFTERMARKET LUG NUT WRENCH WOULD ALSO NOT REMOVE THE NUTS (21MM WAS TOO SMALL; 22MM WAS TOO LARGE). THE LUG NUTS ON THE WHEELS ARE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER INSTALLED NUTS. CAR HAD TO BE DRIVEN ON THE FLAT TIRE TO SERVICE CENTER FOR WHEEL REMOVAL, DESTROYING THE TIRE IN THE PROCESS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUBURBAN FORD OF WATERFORD (6975 HIGHLAND RD, WATERFORD TWP, MI 48327, (248) 674-4781) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOLT DETACHED, WHICH CAUSED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
LEAKING ENGINE OIL PAN HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND IS SCHEDULED FOR A 3RD REPLACEMENT IN LESS THAN 18 MONTHS, THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MY HOME AND THE ENVIRONMENT WITH THIS HAZARDOUS LEAKING PROBLEM.
MY WIFE WAS INSIDE AT WORK AND THE 2015 EDGE WAS JUST SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT. SHE GOT IN AFTER WORK AND STARTED THE CAR AND BOOM THE BACK WINDOW JUST SHATTERS. NOT REMOTE STARTED OR ANYTHING. IT WAS ABOUT 27DEGREES F OUTSIDE. THE WINDOW LITERALLY BROKE AT ALL 4 CORNERS. I HAVE READ THERE IS A RECALL IN CANADA FOR THIS ISSUE BUT NOT ONE HERE IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS IS A WONDERFUL WAY TO START XMAS IS WITH A $600 REPAIR BILL SINCE FORD SAYS IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR AT 58K, IN 2019 I TOOK IT INTO FORD WHEN A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME UP. FORD TOLD ME IT WAS COOLANT INTRUSION IN THE CYLINDER AND IT WOULD BE A 7K REPAIR.
THE BACK SECTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF GLASS HAS DEVELOPED A CRACK. NO OBVIOUS EXTERNAL STRIKE. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED INSIDE IN A TEMPERED ENVIRONMENT. WHEN SEARCHING FOR GLASS REPLACEMENT, I FOUND A NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS.
I HAVE A 2015 FORD EDGE AND AS I WAS DRIVING HOME LAST NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP. I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND NOTHING HIT MY CAR. I CAME OFF THE HIGHWAY AND PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, INSPECTED THE REAR WINDOW AND IT HAD BEGAN TO FALL APART. I CONTACTED FORD AND THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I DID A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THAT MANY FORD CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE BAD BRAKES ON MY FORD EDGE 2015
PANORAMIC SUNROOF CRACKS FOR NO REASON. THE CAR IS GARAGE KEPT AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF. MINIMAL RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY, NOT RUNNING AND I HEARD A HUGE LOUD NOISE. I WALKED OVER TO MY VEHICLE AND THE REAR WINDSHIELD HAD COMPLETELY BLEW OUT AND SHATTERED.
MY PANORAMIC MOONROOF IS CRACKED. THERE'S NO VISIBLE SIGN OF DAMAGE AND IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THE FORD EDGE MOONROOF'S.

ON THE EVENING OF NOVEMBER 9, 2019, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MY DAD'S HOUSE. THIS IS A 2 HOUR DRIVE. I WAS HEADING WEST, AND THE SUN WAS BOTHERING ME, SO I MOVED THE PASSENGER SUN VISOR TO BLOCK THE SUN. WHEN DOING SO, THE VISOR ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE BUTTON WHICH THEN OPENED THE ROOF TO REVEAL THE SUNROOF (GLASS). I WAS FINE WITH THIS SINCE IT WAS A NICE DAY. AFTER AROUND 20-30 MINUTES I LOOKED UP AND SAW A COUPLE OF WAVY LINES ON THE SUNROOF GLASS, RUNNING VERTICALLY FROM HOOD-END TO BACK. I THOUGHT POSSIBLY IT WAS TAR FROM THE ROAD WHICH MAYBE HAD FLOWN UP ON MY ROOF. AFTER A WHILE, I BECAME MORE CURIOUS ABOUT THE WAVY LINES, SO LOOKED MORE CLOSELY. THERE WAS IN FACT 3 WAVY LINES (CRACKS) RUNNING VERTICALLY DOWN THE LARGER SECTION OF THE SUNROOF GLASS, WHICH THEN MEET UP WITH A HORIZONTAL WAVY CRACK. I WAS SHOCKED AND DISMAYED. I RARELY OPEN THE SUNROOF, SO HAD NO IDEA THE CRACKS WERE THERE, HOW OR WHEN THEY OCCURRED. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD HAND WASHED THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH AGO, AND DID NOT SEE THESE WAVY CRACKS AT ALL. AFTER RETURNING HOME, I RESEARCHED THE FORD EDGE SUNROOF ON THE INTERNET. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND THAT MANY MANY OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THESE SAME ODD WAVY CRACK(S) IN THEIR SUNROOFS. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NO COINCIDENCE. AND THE FACT THAT THESE CRACKS ARE WAVY, MAKES SENSE THAT THEY WERE CAUSED BY STRESS, AND MORE THAN LIKELY ARE BEING CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN FLAW. I ASK, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS, FOR YOU TO PLEASE RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM. BY NO FAULT OF MY OWN DID THIS OCCUR. AND SINCE SO MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM, WE ALL ASK YOUR ASSISTANCE TO HAVE FORD MOTOR CO. REIMBURSE US FOR THE REPAIR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS24732252, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBERS: CAS24629948 AND CAS24629949. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *LN*JB
UPON STARTING MY VEHICLE THIS MORNING 10-11-19 A SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON RELATED TO THE TRACTION CONTROL. THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS (2 LIGHTS) ARE ON AND STAY ON - THEY ARE NOT FLASHING. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO?
WAVY SPIDER LIKE CRACKS ON THE BACK PANEL OF PANORAMIC SUNROOF GLASS WITH NO INDICATION THAT SOMETHING FELL ON IT. I CANNOT BE SURE EXACTLY WHEN THE CRACKS HAPPENED. I LEAVE THE SHADE CLOSED MOST OF THE TIME.
MY SUN/PANORAMIC ROOF IS SPIDER CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE FIRST PANEL (THAT SITS OVER THE DRIVER) FROM EXCESS HEAT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN PARKED UNDER TREES, OVERPASSES, OR ANYWHERE THAT ROCKS OR OBJECTS COULD FALL ON TOP OF THE VEHICLE AND CRACK THE GLASS.
VEHICLE MOON ROOF DISPLAYING STRESS FRACTURES. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, HAS THE PROBABILITY TO EXPLODE WHILE DRIVING. AS A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH WILL SHOW YOU THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHO REFUSES TO COVER THE COST OR RECALL. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I'M WORRIED IT WILL BREAK WHILE DRIVING, AND I HAVE TWO SMALL KIDS IN CAR SEATS DIRECTLY BELOW WHERE THE CRACKS ARE. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE, AND THIS VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD. THERE IS NO REASON THIS SHOULD BE OCCURRING.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY GARAGE FOR ALMOST A MONTH (AS I WAS AWAY TRAVELING FOR WORK) AND MY WIFE NOTICED WAVY CRACKS ALL ACROSS THE REAR GLASS PANEL OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF (FIXED GLASS PANEL THAT DOES NOT MOVE) WHEN WE WERE OUT DRIVING THIS PAST WEEKEND. THERE IS NO INDICATION OF HOW THIS CRACKED, CAR WAS STATIONARY AS I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO DRIVES IT. THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPACT TO THE TOP, AND AFTER DOING RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ALL-TO-COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THIS VEHICLE MODEL AND SOME OTHER FORD VEHICLES AS WELL. I AM AFRAID IF THIS CRACKS FURTHER IT MAY CAUSE A SAFETY RISK INSIDE THE CABIN WITH BROKEN GLASS. THERE IS NO RECALL TO-DATE ON THIS GLASS ISSUE, BUT I AM AWARE OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST FORD BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.

AFTER CONTACTING STUTEVILLE FORD OF TAHLEQUAH (145 GEORGE GUESS RD, TALEQUAH, OK) AND THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I OWN A 2015 FORD EDGE TITANIUM TRIM. BOTH PANORAMIC SUN ROOFS HAVE DEVELOPED CRACKS FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS I CAN HEAR THE GLASS GRINDING AS THE CAR FLEXES WHILE DRIVING. EACH ROOF PANEL DEVELOPED THESE CRACKS AT DIFFERENT TIMES. IN NEITHER INSTANCE WAS THE CAR SUBJECTED TO UNUSUAL OR SEVERE DRIVING CONDITIONS.
BACK PART OF PANAROMIC SUNROOF HAS SPIDER CRACKS; VEHICLE HAS 40K MILES
I STARTED MY CAR AND TURNED ON TO A BUSY STREET. MY CAR THEN SLOWED TO AN ALMOST IMMEDIATE STOP. I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING HILL ASSIST UNAVAILABLE (I WASN'T ON A HILL AT ALL), THEN A WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED ALONG WITH AN ENGINE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON AS WELL. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING THE PETAL. MEANWHILE THERE IS TRAFFIC BEHIND ME FORCED TO MOVE AROUND MY VEHICLE ALMOST CAUSING SERIOUS ACCIDENTS.
SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT, HILL START ASSIST, TRACTION CONTROL, WRENCH LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT AND BREAK LIGHT ALL COME ONE SIMULTANEOUSLY. GETS STUCK ON PARKING BREAK WHILE IN PARK AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING. SPENT OVER $700 WITH LOCAL FOR DEALERSHIP TRYING TO FIX IT. AFTER IT BEING IN THE SHOP THE FOR 3 WEEKS THE SAME THING STARTED HAPPENING A FEW HOURS AFTER PICKUP. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT THEIR ISN'T JUST A ONE ALL FIX ALL. OTHER FORD MODELS HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUES IN THE PAST AND HAD RECALLS ON THEM. NEED THIS ISSUE FIXED!! IT'S BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE THE DAY THAT I PURCHASED IT (8/13/2019) FROM THE BIG RED KIA IN NORMAN.
PURCHASED A USED 2015 "CERTIFIED" FORD EDGE TITANIUM 3 MONTHS AGO NOW. THE SUNROOF WILL NOT CLOSE. I AM BEING INFORMED ITS THE SUNROOF RACKS AND THOSE ARE NOT COVERED IN EITHER MY CERTIFIED WARRANTY OR MY POWER TRAN WARRANTY. HOW CAN A SUNROOF ONLY USED 3 TIMES RACKS BREAK UNLESS THEY WERE ALREADY MESSED UP AND THE DEALERSHIP THOUGHT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO GET RID OF INSTEAD OF FIXING.
BOOSTER BRAKE DEFECT. THERE IS A RECALL BUT MY VIN # IS NOT ON THE LIST. IT SHOULD BE. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE BRAKES DELAYED STOPPING MY CAR. I COULD NOT DRIVE IT. MY CAR VIN SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIR BECAUSE IT IS NOT ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST BUT THE PROBLEM IS THERE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. WHEN COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT THE CAR TAKES LONGER TO STOP SO YOU HAVE TO BRAKE SOONER. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, PARTS WHERE ORDERED TO REPAIR. STILL WAITING TO SEE IF I HAVE TO PAY!
MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH OUR 2015 FORD EDGE ON 8/7/2019. SHE REAR ENDED A FULL SIZED SUV AT A MODERATE SPEED AS SHE CRESTED A HILL INTO STOPPED VEHICLES. THE SKIRT AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE MAIN AIRBAG DID NOT. SHE ALSO STATES THAT THE LAP BELT HELD IN IN THE SEAT BUT THE SHOULDER HARNESS DID NOT LOCK AND SHE WAS THRUST INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. I NEVER OPEN THE SUNROOF AND I HAD TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER IT! I HAD TAKEN IT TO A GLASS COMPANY TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIGURE OUT WHY IT CRACKED AND THEY SEEM NO IMPACT MARKS ANYWHERE. THEY SAID THAT THE GLASS HAD FAILED FROM EITHER HEAT OR A IMPERFECTION IN THE GLASS. MY VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH. WE HAD JUST LEFT A SCENIC OVERVIEW WHERE THE CAR HAD BEEN SHUT OFF. ACCELERATED UP A HILL AND DROVE FOR A FEW MORE MILES ON FLAT, STRAIGHT ROADWAY AND THE DASH WENT BLACK. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON BUT NOT IN USE. LOST ALL POWER, HOWEVER STEERING WAS RESPONSIVE AND BRAKES WORKED.. DAY TEMP ~85 DEGREES. VEHICLE MILES=48000. STEERED TO SHOULDER, PUT CAR IN PARK AND HIT THE IGNITION BUTTON. THE CAR RESTARTED. CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT CARS ARE SO COMPUTERIZED NOW THAT THEY NEED TO BE REBOOTED OCCASIONALLY AND TO CALL BACK OF IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. PER CARGURUS SITE THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE 2009. MOST CONSUMERS CITING A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BOTTLE ASSEMBLY. WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET THIS ON A RECALL? THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND THEY REPLACED BREAK BOOSTER PART B. THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN 2019. I WAS TOLD "IT WAS A BREAK FLAP". NO SUCH THING. MY BROTHER HAS A VEHICLE FROM SAME MANUFACTURER SAME YEAR DIFFERENT MAKE AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS RECALLED AND THAT CORRECTED HIS ISSUE. HAVING BREAKS THAT YOU CAN'T TRUST IS A HORRIBLE FEELING EVEN WORSE HEADING INTO WINTER. IS THIS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2015 FORD EDGES? 2015 FORD EDGE TITANIUM PANORAMIC SUNROOF. THE LAMINATED GLASS STARTED CRACKING ABOVE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHILE PARKED. OVER THE FOLLOWING 2 DAYS (APPROXIMATELY 150 MILES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 45 -55 MPH), THE CRACK EXTENDED AND DIVIDED TO FORM A MASS OF WAVY CRACKS ACROSS THE WHOLE GLASS. ONLY THE EXTERIOR LAYER OF GLASS HAS CRACKED AT TBHS POINT BUT THE ROOF CREAKS AND FLEXES AND WILL POTENTIALY COMPLETELY FAIL AT SOME POINT. I DARE NOT OPEN THE ROOF IN CASE IT FAILS COMPLETELY. THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS OF IMPACT AT ANY POINT ON THE ROOF ("BULLS EYES"), AND THE CRACKS LOOK TO BE CAUSED BY STRESS CAUSED BY THE WAY THE GLASS IS MOUNTED, OR HOW THE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE IS STRENGTHENED (OR NOT) AGAINST FLEXING

WAVY PATTERED CRACKS ON THE BACK PANEL OF PANORAMIC SUNROOF GLASS WITH NO INDICATION THAT SOMETHING FELL ON IT TO CAUSE THE CRACKS. I WAS NOT IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED AND DO NOT LEAVE MY SUNROOF SHADE OPEN ALL THE TIME, SO I CANNOT BE SURE EXACTLY WHEN THE CRACKS HAPPENED. I LEAVE THE SHADE CLOSED DURING THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS.

I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND MY REPAIR WAS DENIED BECAUSE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE 46000 MILES ON MY 2015 FORD EDGE. I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS MYSELF. I CONTACTED FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD TO KEEP MY RECEIPT IN CASE THEIR WAS A RECALL. I VOICED MY CONCERN OVER SAFETY AND DISAPPOINTMENT THAT FORD WAS NOT TAKING CARE OF THE ISSUE. CAME OUT TO MY 2015 FORD EDGE SPORT WITH THE REAR GLASS OF THE PANORAMIC MOONROOF CRACKED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT SEEMS. CAR IS PARKED IN DRIVE WAY AND I HAVE A AWNING SO NOTHING FELL FROM THE SKY AND HIT IT. ALSO DIDN'T SEE ANY DAMAGE OR CHIPS FROM A HIT. RIGHT THEN I REMEMBER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS OF THE OF THE EXPLODING MOON ROOFS THAT FORD IS FAILING TO SEE AS A SAFETY HAZARD. REPORTS AFTER REPORTS OF THE EXACT ISSUE. AFTER CALLING FORD SERVICE I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE THAT IT'S NOT COVERED. WOW, DIDN'T EVEN SEE THE VEHICLE. THIS WILL BE MY LAST FORD I EVER PURCHASE. NOTHING BUT ISSUES.
OUR 2015 FORD EDGE WAS PARKED IN THE YARD OF A NON-PROFIT. APPARENTLY SOMETHING HIT THE WINDOW WHILE A VOLUNTEER WAS MOWING. WHEN MY HUSBAND RETURNED TO THE PARKED CAR, THE WINDOW LOOKED CLOUDY, LIKE IT HAD CONDENSATION ON IT, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MID-DAY. HE TOUCHED IT WITH HIS FINGERTIP, AND IT FELL INTO MANY TINY PIECES DOWN INTO THE DRIVER'S SEAT. ACCORDING TO THE COMPANY THAT REPLACED THE WINDOW, WHICH IS A THIRD PARTY CONTRACTED BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, THERE WAS NO LAMINATION TO HOLD THE SHARDS IN PLACE. WE ARE FORTUNATE NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT THIS INCIDENT CALLS INTO QUESTION THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER WINDOWS IN THE CAR.
