AFTER SHOPPING, I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO START THE CAR. I HEARD A POP AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE FRONT RIGHT BRAKE HOSE RUPTURED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE RECALLED PART IS IN "ADVANCE NOTICE" AND A FIX ISN'T AVAILABLE. I WAS CHARGED FOR THE FIX (WITH A PROMISE OF REFUND), BUT ONLY ONE SIDE WAS FIXED AND I PRESUME THE OLD PART, WHICH WAS RECALLED, WAS USED TO "FIX" THE CAR. AFTER CALLING FORD, THEY HAD NO UPDATE. THEIR RECALL NOTICE (20S42) STATED THEY EXPECTED THE FIX TO BE READY Q4 2020, BUT IT IS NOT APRIL 2021 WITH NO UPDATE.
Engine light on, coolant bubbling in reservoir, presence of coolant in cylinder, chemical head gasket test failed, vehicle needs new engine.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. MY 2016 FORD EDGE SEL RECENTLY DISPLAYED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WAS LOOSING COOLANT WITHOUT LEAKAGE UNDER VEHICLE. THE ERROR CODE PRESENTED WAS P0304. UPON PRESSURE TESTING COOLANT WAS FOUND TO BE LEAKING INTO THE 4TH CYLINDER, AND CAUSING A MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND FORD IS CLAIMING THE ONLY SOLUTION IS A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT FOR MORE THAN 7K.
The scan revealed P0316 misfire on startup and P0301 cylinder 1misfire. It was discovered that the top of the cylinder 1 piston appears to be "washed" which happens when fuel is not ignited during the combustion process. This confirms the constant "toping off" of the engine coolant, which indicates a coolant leak in cylinder number 1. This diagnosis was from Christian Brothers Automotive, Acworth, Ga.
IN DECEMBER WE WENT TO DRIVE OUR CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE BREAK PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND BREAK FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT OF IT. FORD SAID THE REAMDY FOR THE RECALL WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. WE HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR OF THE RIGHT BREAK LINE THEN LAST MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN WITH THE LEFT BREAK LINE. FORD STILL HAS NO SOLUTION!! IT'S BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE I'VE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND I'M ABOUT TO BE OUT $600 TO FIX THE BREAKS ON MY CAR!
Engine malfunction due to engine coolant leaking in to #2 cylinder. Check engine warning light came on intermittently. Car didn’t pass New York State Emissions test. Car can’t be re-registered in NYS without passing Emissions test. Had car towed to Ford Service Center for diagnosis. Ford diagnosis - car engine and assembly needs to be replaced with re-designed long block engine for an estimated repair cost of $6637 plus tax. Ford is not covering engine defect that resulted in engine coolant leaking into #2 cylinder causing misfire and engine check warning light to come on. Due to this design fault, Ford should issue a recall on our 2016 Ford Edge as the car is unsafe to drive. Ford should cover the cost of the engine repair, parts and labor, due to this design fault.
I RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL IN MAIL, DATED SEPTEMBER 2020, NHTSA RECALL 20V-469, STATING RECALL FOR BRAKE ISSUE, WITH A RISK OF A CRASH. AS OF MARCH 15, 2021, FORD AND NHTSA WEBSITES SAY RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT A BRAKE RECALL AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS BEING DONE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED.
I RECEIVED WORD OF A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE CALLED MY FORD DEALER THREE TIMES OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL (9?) MONTHS. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THE PART(S) ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and the recall repairs were completed. The contact stated shortly after the repair the rear brake line also experienced the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer and had both rear brake lines replaced. The contact stated on February 26, 2023, he heard an abnormal sound and noticed the rear passenger’s side tire was covered in brake fluid. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The consumer stated Ford reimburse the cost of the initial brake hose repair, but the rear brake hose burst as well. The consumer wants reimbursement for the rear brake hose as well as brake fluid purchase.
FORD RECALL 20V-469 I. RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT BREAK LINE ISSUES FO THE FORD EDGE I OWN. IT HAS 30,000 MILES ON IT. 2 WEEKS AGO IT WENT THROUGH 30,000 MILE CHECKUP, INCLUDING BRAKES. TOLD THEY WHERE FINE, NO ISSUES. AND THAT FORD STILL DID NOT HAVE THE RECALL PROCEDURE IN PLACE AND CAN NOT GET RECALL REPAIR. BU I SHOULD JOT WORRY, MY BRAKES ARE FINE. THEY AREN'T. I WAS DRIVING AND THE LINES BROKE. I HAD NO BRAKES. I WAS LUCKY AND DID NOT CRASH. THE CAR CAN NOT BE DRIVEN. FORD IS SAYING I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS UNTIL THE PROCEDURES COME OUT AND I CAN THEN FILE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. I LUCKILY DID NOT TURN INTO THE HIGHWAY. I WAS LUCKY I DID NOT CRASH INTO ANYONE. I HAD NO BRAKES. THE 'LEAK' OCCURRED WHEN THE LINES BROKE. THIS IS DIFFERENT THEN WHAT THE LETTER SAYS. THEY ACT LIKE IT WILL LEAK AND YOU WILL BE FINE AND LINES WILL BE REPLACED. I HAD NO WARNING. I ASKED FORD TO FIX THIS AND CHECK THEM. FORD KNOWS THESE ARE BAD LINES, BUT ARE NOT FIXING THEM YET. I HAD TO PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER, ALONG WITH OTHERS AROUND ME, BECAUSE OF THIS. FORD SHOULD BE FIXING THE CARS NOW. THEY KNOW WHAT VIN CARS HAVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS GOING TO DRIVE THIS CAR ON MOUNTAIN ROADS THIS WEEK, NOW IT IS SITTING AT FORD. IF I WAS DRIVING IN THOSE ROADS, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWFUL. THIS ISN'T A SMALL PROBLEM. IT'S A LAWSUIT PROBLEM IF FORD DOESN'T FIX THE CARS. THEY COULD SAFE SOME LIVES BY TAKING CARE OF THIS NOW. THEY SENT THE LETTERS OUT IN SEPTEMBER. IT'S SCARY TO DRIVE AND THEN HAVE NO WAY TO STOP, EXCEPT HOT SOMETHING. OR BEING LUCKY AND GOING SLOW ENOUGH THAT YOUR EMERGENCY BREAKS WORK. FORD CLEARED MY CAR TO DRIVE, SPECIALLY THE BRAKES, AND THEN THE BRAKES BREAK. THIS IS THE RECALL PROBLEM. THEY COULD HAVE OREVENTED THIS. VERY UPSET. AND WORRIED FOR OTHER A FORD EDGE DRIVERS. I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN, URBAN CITY. I WAS IN MOTION. AMD THE BRAKES BROKE. 30,000 MILES.
Rearview camera has been faulty for years and there is still not a fix. I have almost hit people reversing bc of this issue. I will be backing up and the camera is fine and then all of the sudden it messes up with lines and weird colors in the middle of backing up. This is dangerous and hazardous.
2016 EDGE BOUGHT 10/16 59,000 MILES APPROXIMATELY. THE ENGINE OVER HEATING LIGHT CAME ON ENGINE IDLING POORLY TOOK INTO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. VEHICLE NEEDS A MOTOR. IT'S SITTING IN DEALER NOW FOR OVER 30 DAYS ENGINE ON BACK ORDER. BASED ON NUMBER OF BOUGHT IN OCTOBER 2016 EDGE 59,000 MILES OVER HEAT LIGHT ON TOOK TO FORD DEALER FORD IS SLOWLY TAKING CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I WOULD SAY BESIDE WAITING 6- 8 WEEKS TO GET VEHICLE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY WHO WILL REIMBURSED FOR DEVALUATION OF A KNOWN PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD APPROXIMATELY 55MPH AND HEARD A LOUD POP THAT SOUNDED LIKE GLASS BREAKING. IT WAS DARK SO I COULDN'T TELL WHAT HAPPENED UNTIL I GOT HOME. I FOUND THE BACK HATCH GLASS HAD SHATTERED. I HAD BEEN USING THE REAR WIPER AND DEFROST. I READ ON THE INTERNET THAT CANADA HAD A RECALL 17B39 FOR THIS CONCERN. IT WAS APPROXIMATELY 29 DEGREES OUT WITH LIGHT SNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED
2016 FORD EDGE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUE WITH THEIR TRANSMISSION. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*JS
ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. DIAGNOSTICS WILL INDICATE MISFIRE. CHANGE PLUGS AND COIL PACK. LIGHT WILL AGAIN ILLUMINATE AFTER A FEW MILES. FOUND THE BLOCK TO HAVING HAIRLINE CRACKS; ALLOWING WATER IN THE CYLINDER CAUSING MISFIRE. THIS IS THE 2ND ONE WE PURCHASED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. INVESTIGATING ONLINE THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. THERE ARE 45 COMPLAINTS JUST ON ONE SITE WITH ALL THE SAME PROBLEM. THE FIX IS A NEW ENGINE ($3000 TO $5000). FORD KNOWS THIS PROBLEM THAT BEGAN IN 2015 AND CONTINUES TO THIS DAY.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE ABRUPTLY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HER AND EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS NEEDED TO BE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO REDWOOD FORD (1170 S STATE ST, UKIAH, CA 95482) WHERE THEY INFORMED HER THAT THE DEFECT MAY BE RELATED TO A CRACKED FLEX PLATE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE DEALER POSSESSION FOR TWO WEEKS AND REMAINED UNREPAIRED. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO FUTURE FORD OF SACRAMENTO (4625 MADISON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95841) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LOST BRAKE FLUID WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO BE INEFFECTIVE. THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO POSSIBILY HAVE AND ACCIDENT OR CAUSE ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STOP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER WHO FOUND THE LEAK AND REPLACED THE PART. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE FRONT BRAKES AS WELL. THOSE BRAKES ARE CURRENTLY UNDER A RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THERE WERE NO WARNS, LIGHTS OR ANY SYMPTOMS THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM
REAR LIFTGATE GLASS SHATTERED/EXPLODED AS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS SHUT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY. A BASKETBALL SIZED HOLE WAS LEFT IN THE SHATTERED GLASS. REAR LIFTGATE WAS NEVER OPENED DURING THIS TIME, AND THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS OR EXISTING DAMAGE TO THE LIFTGATE OR LIFTGATE GLASS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN MID 30 DEGREE WEATHER FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS PRIOR TO GLASS EXPLODING.
THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED (THERE WAS NO CRASH WAS ON A SIDE STREET) 27 FEB 2020 DRIVERS FRONT BRAKE LINE BROKE AND THE BUILD ALL LEAKED OUT . . .COMPLETE BREAK FAILURE A SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED ON 18 DEC 202, THIS TIME WAS NEARING A STOP LIGHT WHEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN, THIS TIME THE FLUID ALL LEAKED OUT TO THE FROM BRAKE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IN BOTH CASES THE EDGE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER. HAD EITHER OF THESE HAPPENED IN HEAVIER TRAFFIC OR ON AN OFF-RAMP THIS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
PRIOR HISTORY- COUPLE TIMES THE ADAPTIVE STEERING LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO RIGHT BACK OUT. ON 12/14/2020 I WAS DRIVING AND IN A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN I HEARD A POP ON MY STEERING WHEEL. I IMMEDIATELY GOT A 'ADAPTIVE STEERING SERVICE REQUIRED' LIGHT. I KNEW THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND DROVE TO THE NEXT TOWN WITH NO ISSUE TO WHERE I COULD SAFELY PULL OFF THE ROAD. WHEN I STOPPED THEN STARTED THE CAR AGAIN MY STEERING WAS LOCKED AND I HAD 4 MESSAGES ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH (SEE ATTACHED PICTURES). I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A RACK AND PINION WHICH WILL COST $3400.00. (I DON'T CARE AS MUCH ABOUT THE COST, I WANT TO SEE AN ACTION BY FORD WHO IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WANTS TO SOAK UP THE $2000+ FOR THE PARTS) I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS THIS IS A KNOWN CONTINUED ISSUE IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE AND IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS THE STEERING ACTUALLY LOCKS UP TO WHERE YOU CAN'T DRIVE, COULD YOU IMAGINE HAVING YOUR FAMILY OR SPOUSE AND KIDS IN THIS FAMILY STYLE VEHICLE AND THE STEERING GOING OUT? I CHATTED WITH A FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AND SHE ALSO CONFIRMED FORD HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THIS AND HAVE MULTIPLE REPAIRS DONE BUT THEY ARE NORMALLY DONE UNDER THE WARRANTY.
THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS AND THE ENGINE BOGS DOWN AND THE ENGINE STARTS RUNNING VERY RUFF. I CAN ONLY DO ABOUT 2 MILES PER HOUR, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I AM IN TRAFFIC ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE ONLY THING THAT FIXES IT IS TO PULL OVER, SHUT THE CAR DOWN, AND THEN RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER OF 2019 AND IT IS ONLY JANUARY OF 2021.
I WAS DRIVING MY SON TO HIS FATHER'S HOUSE AND MY CAR LITERALLY DIED WHILE IT WAS MOVING. THANKFULLY I WAS CLOSE TO THE HOUSE AND WE WERE NOT ON A MAJOR STREET OR HIGHWAY, BUT IT TOOK SEVERAL TIMES FOR IT TO START AGAIN SO THAT WE COULD MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY. I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER AND THERE IS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE AND NOW REQUIRES A NEW LONG ENGINE BLOCK WHICH WILL COST ME ALMOST $7,000 AND AN ADDITIONAL $1,000 FOR A RENTAL CAR, AS I AM A SINGLE MOM. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I'M LUCKY THAT I WASN'T.
CARS ONLY AT 43K MILES AND CONSTANTLY STALLS. TAKES 10 MINUTES TO START. GAS TANK MAKES WEIRD VIBRATING NOISE AND MY GAS MILEAGE ON FULL TANK WILL GO FROM 330 TO E TO 160 TO E IN 15 SECONDS. MY WINDOWS RANDOMLY DONT WORK, MY LIGHTS DIM AND CAR JUST SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND THE STEREO CUTS OUT AND LOOSES HALF POWER LIKE VOLUME WAS TURNED DOWN EVEN THO IT WASNT,AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME TO FIX THESE ISSUES AND IM HOPING FORD RECTIFIED THIS WITH HAVING TO PURSUE THIS. ME AND MY FAMILY INCLUDING INFANTS AND MY PREGNANT WIFE USE THIS CAR DAILY AND I DEPEND ON IT TO GET MYSELF TO WORK AS AN ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE IN NURSING WE NEED PUR VEHICLE TO BE DEPENDABLE AND IT HAS BEEN ANYTHING BUT. FOR DATES THIS HAPPENS ITS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AFTER PUTTING ONLY 3K MILEAGE ON THE CAR I BOUGHT IT AT 21K MILES ITS 43K AMD THIS ISSUE IS BECOMING A SERIOUS INCONVENIENCE AND SAFETY CONCERN. IM ANNOYED BECAUSE I TOOK OUT A LOAN TO BUY THIS VEHICLE AND STILL OWE 28K ON IT SO IF THIS CAR DIES IM SCREWED WITH GETTING RO MY JOB AND EVEN MAKING MORE LONEY TO PAY THIS OFF TO EVEN GET ANOTHER VEHICLE

WHEN IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN, AROUND 98,000 I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN FOR ABOUT A WEEK. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN IT HAD 101,000. THEY TOLD ME I HAVE A CYLINDER HEAD COOLANT INTRUSION BECAUSE OF A SMALL CRACK. THEY RECOMMEND A LONG BLOCK ENGINE REPAIR FOR $8000. THEY SAID THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE FORD ECOBOOST ENGINES. I SEE THERE'S 100'S OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP. A CAR THAT'S 3 1/2 YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW ENGINE. THIS IS A KNOWN FORD ENGINE DEFECT THAT THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND.

FRONT END IMPACT INTO A TREE; MULTIPLE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PRIMARY DRIVER'S SIDE STEER WHEEL AIRBAG. THE CAR SENSED AND ATTEMPTED TO CALL 911 BUT WAS IN A RURAL AREA. AS A RETIRED COUPLE BUYING IN GOOD FAITH A BRAND NEW CAR VALUED AT $40000 AND EXPECTING IT TO LAST FOR MANY MANY YEARS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CHECKED VEHICLE WITH CODE READER AND CODE P0303 & P0316 SHOWED. WHEN VEHICLE STARTED WHEN COLD, IT WOULD CHUG AND STALL OUT AT TIMES. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY FOUND COOLANT WAS GETTING INTO THE #3 CYLINDER. THEREFORE REQUIRING A NEW LONG BLOCK. WE RESEARCHED TSB19-2346 AND FOUND THE EXACT SYMPTOMS TO WHAT CAUSED MY ENGINE FAILURE,AND THIS GOES FOR ALL 2.0 LITER ECO-BOOST ENGINES. BASICALLY, A FACTORY MATERIAL DEFECT IN HEAD THAT ALLOWED COOLANT TO LEAK INTO CYLINDER BLOCK, WHICH CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE. MY FORD WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED DUE TO MY VEHICLE MILEAGE. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY DUE TO WORDING IN CONTRACT WOULD ONLY COVER INTERNAL , LUBRICATED FAILURE OF ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP DEEMED MY FAILURE TO BE AN EXTERNAL, MATERIAL CAUSE BECAUSE IT CAME FROM THE HEAD. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY HAD NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT AND WOULD NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCT. FOUND OUT ABOUT TSB 19-2346 AFTER RESEARCHING THE DIAGNOSIS. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THIS LAST DEC (WHEN IT WAS RELEASED) I COULD HAVE TRADED THE CAR FOR MY NEW TOYOTA. AFTER HOURS AND HOURS OF RESEARCH, I WILL NOW GET RID OF MY 2 FORDS AND GET A RAV 4 AND ANOTHER TACOMA.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle after refueling, the vehicle was making abnormal gurgling sounds. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 60 MPH, she heard abnormally loud sounds coming from the rear driver's side of the vehicle, where the fuel tank was located. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle. The contact pushed the gas tank cap and the sounds stopped. The contact was able to continue driving; however, the check engine warning light illuminated while driving the next day. The contact was able to drive to her residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the purge valve and Evaporative Emission Control (EVAP) system needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that it was a known failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.

A 2nd flexible brake line blew out and I lost my brakes for the 2nd time within a couple months.
CAR WAS SHOWING SOME POTENTIAL PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION. INTENTION WAS TO GET A TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND FILL, SPARK PLUGS REPLACED. AFTER PLUGS REPLACED, REPAIR SHOP TOOK FOR TEST DRIVE ON LOCAL STREETS. THEN IT DIED. TOWED BACK TO SHOP, WOULDN'T RESTART. EXAMINED IT AND FOUND FLYWHEEL DETACHED. TOWED OVER TO FORD AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THEY CALLED TODAY AND SAID NEED TO REPLACE FLYWHEEL, TORQUE CONVERTER, AND OIL PUMP TO THE TUNE OF $5300! I INTERNET SEARCHED THIS AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS. FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS ON 2017 MODELS, BUT NOT 2016. THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE THE SAME YET FORD WILL NOT REPAIR THIS AT THEIR EXPENSE. MAKES NO SENSE, SAME PARTS! IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET FORD TO RE-LOOK AT THIS? I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A PART DEFECT LIKE THE BOLTS THAT FAILED TO HOLD THE FLEX PLATE ON!

30 AUG 2020 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING OR INDICATION. THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS A KNOW ISSUE THAT THE COOLANT LEAKS ALONG THE ENGINE BLOCK. IN MY CASE IT LEAKED INTO THE 3RD CYLINDER AND CAUSED MISFIRES. THE CYLINDER IS CRACKED AND THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CURRENT MILAGE IS 64000 AND NOT COVERED UNDER THE 60000 MILE WARRANTY.
I HAVE A 2016 FORD EDGE, WHICH HAS A PANORAMIC SUNROOF AND MOON ROOF. MY SUNROOF MOTOR ONLY WORKS HALF THE TIME. IT WILL OPEN WITH NO ISSUES, BUT THEN IN ORDER TO CLOSE IT, IT WILL CLOSE, AND THEN OPEN AGAIN. I HAVE TO CLOSE IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT ACTUALLY STAYS CLOSED. REPLACED ALL THE COIL PACKS. LASTED 1 DAY. THEN CAR OVERHEATED ON THE HIGHWAY . I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT IT NEEDS AN ENGINE. COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO THE #2 CYLINDER. CAR HAS 116,000 MILES AND FORD WILL NOT COVER ANY OF THE REPAIR.
