THE "DECORATIVE" PIECE ON THE REAR LIFTGATE THAT HAS THE REVERSE LIGHTS IS SEVERELY CONDENSATION AND FILLS WITH WATER, WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY SHORT OUT THE REVERSE LIGHTS CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD AND THE LOCAL DEALER FUCILLO FORD WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE THIS UNIT WANTS TO CHARGE ME 1300.00 TO REPAIR AND I HAD COMPLAINED THREE TIMES ABOUT IT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE WARRANTY. I DO NOT HAVE PHOTOS OF THIS NEXT RAINSTORM I WILL SECURE SOME AND FORWARD ON.
AT APPROXIMATELY 53,000 MILES, 2.0L I4 ECOBOOST ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO COOLANT LEEK INTO BLOCK - #2 CYLINDER FAILURE. ALTHOUGH COST OF REPAIRS WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT TOOK A LOT OF EFFORT TO GET THIS ALL ACCOMPLISHED. BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW FOR $40,000 AND HAVE HAD ALL MAINTENANCE METICULOUSLY COMPLETED AT LOCAL DEALERSHIP (WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE). WORRIED NOW ABOUT THE DURABILITY OF THE INSTALLED REPLACEMENT ENGINE. THAT ENGINE NOW HAS NEARLY 20,000 MILES ON IT AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT WHO IS AN AUTO DEALER, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO INTEGRITY AUTO (1031 9TH AVENUE SE WATERTOWN, SD 57201, (605) 878-2277) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,816. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
MY FIANC WAS DRIVING HER VEHICLE WHEN SHE PRESSED THE BRAKE AND IT SEEMED TO GO TO THE FLOOR. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON THAT SHE REALIZED THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THANKFULLY THE LIGHT CAME ON AS SHE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THE STORE AND NOT TRYING TO SLOW DOWN FROM 55MPH. I MET HER AT THE PARKING LOT SHE STOPPED IN AND UPON INVESTIGATING I FOUND BRAKE FLUID ALL UNDER THE VEHICLE AND ALL OVER THE WHEEL LINER. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THE LEFT FRONT LINE RUPTURED. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS AS WE BOUGHT IT CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED. DEALERSHIP INFORMED US THAT THE LINE WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT HAS 24,250 MILES ON IT. THE SELLING DEALERSHIP ADVERTISED THE CPO AS BEING WORTH THE EXTRA PRICE OVER A REGULAR USED CAR BECAUSE IT WOULD TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING WITH THE 12 MONTH/12,000 MIKE BUMPER TO BUMPER, A FLAT OUT LIE. I CONTACTED FORD AND AFTER A GREAT DEAL OF BACK AND FORTH FOR OVER A WEEK, THEY DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE. NOW I'M ON THE HOOK FOR A $600 REPAIR BILL AND WONDERING HOW LONG IT WILL BE UNTIL THE OTHER LINE BURSTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I WILL BE SELLING THIS CAR ASAP AND IT WILL BE THE LAST FORD PRODUCT I EVER OWN.
I WAS SITING AT A RED LIGHT AND THE BACK GLASS EXPLODED. NOTHING HIT THE CAR, THE WINDOW JUST SHATTERED.
SUDDEN REAR BACKLIGHT SHATTER IN COLD WEATHER WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. OUT DOOR TEMPERATURE WA 9F. VEHICLE HAD BEEN WARMING UP IN GARAGE FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE DRIVING.
10 NOV 2019, USED THE KEY FOB TO CLOSE THE REAR HATCH. CAME BACK HOME AND FOUND THE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY SHATTERED BUT STILL INTACT. THERE WERE NO HOLES OTHER INDICATIONS OF ANYTHING THROWN AT THE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED TWENTY-FIVE FEET OFF THE ROADWAY IN MY PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. THERE IS NO REASON WHY THIS WINDOW SHOULD HAVE SHATTERED.
LEFT FRONT BRAKE HOSE RUPTURED. I WAS DRIVING AND THE CHECK BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. ADDED BRAKE FLUID. THE NEXT MORNING I TOOK OUT AND CAME TO THE END OF THE STEET, HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC, THE BRAKE HOSE HAD RUPTURED CAUSING THE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK OUT.
On [XXX], around 7 PM, while my 2016 Ford Edge SEL was parked in front of my apartment, I used the remote start feature to start the vehicle. After activation, the rear window shattered unexpectedly. I could hear the crackling sounds, and the rear window was falling apart. There were no external impacts or visible damage to the window prior to this incident. The vehicle was stationary, and the weather conditions were normal at the time. I went to Elder Ford of Rochester Hills. The manager informed me that they could not do anything and that I should fix the car before returning it at the end of the lease period. I mentioned that there was Technical Bulletin FSA# 17B39 for the 2016 Ford Edge in Canada, but the manager informed me that it was only valid for Canada. He advised me to keep the receipt in case Ford USA issues a similar recall. FSA# 17B39 informs that war and salt can weep through the rear wiper motor shaft grommet. The residues in the rear defroster and cause uneven heat in glass and cause it to break or shatter. I live in Michigan so this is a common situation of salt/water during winter. It is unacceptable that this issue was not addressed. I had to pay $397 to fix a problem that was not caused by me. There are numerous complaints in forums about this same issue. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY UPON INITIAL IMPACT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S UPPER BODY WENT INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT AND CAUSED HIS FOOT TO BECOME WEDGED INTO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE THEN CRASHED INTO A GARAGE. ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE LEG AIR BAG DEPLOYED DURING THE SECOND IMPACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INCOMPLETE SPINAL CORD INJURY, WHICH CAUSED HIM TO HAVE NECK SURGERY. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR THEIR UNKNOWN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY (CLAIM NUMBER: 01-001-969010). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-24820768. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,857.
WHEN PARKED AND LOCKED, THE REAR HATCH WILL UNLOCK WHEN DRIVER GONE, OR AT NIGHT. REAR HATCH DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE BY ANY SWITCH. A DANGER TO PERSONAL SAFETY AND THEFT.
WHILE DRIVING A MONTH AGO THE POWER STEERING FAULT WARNING LIGHT WENT ON& I LOST POWER STEERING. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED BACK ON I RECEIVED 3 WARNING LIGHTS: UPHILL START ASSIST DISABLED, POWER STEERING FAULT DISABLED & TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED. 6 STEERING GEARS HAVE BEEN REPLACED IN THE VEHICLE & IT'S STILL AT THE DEALER NOT FIXED. VEHICLE IS UNDRIVEABLE
IT BEGAN WITH THE DRIVER SIDE, THE BRAKE LINE STARTED LEAKING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDED TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR TO INITIATE ANY FORM OF BRAKING ON THE CAR. THE CAR WAS JUST SERVICED, SO IT WAS THOUGHT THAT THE DEALER MESSED SOMETHING UP WHEN FIXING THE CAR. THEN, ONCE IT WAS FIXED 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME THE LEAKAGE WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. ONCE AGAIN THE BRAKES NEED TO BE PRESSED TO THE FLOOR TO WORK AND FLUID WAS LEAKING ALL OVER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN TO BE FIXED. THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE PAID FOR SINCE BUMPER TO BUMPER WAS ONLY COVERED FOR 36,000 MILES. BOTH TIMES THE BRAKE LINES STARTED TO LEAK (WE WERE NEVER GIVEN A REASON BY THE DEALER HOW IT OCCURED) WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE BRAKE NEEDED TO BE PUSHED DOWN ALL THE WAY TO START THE CAR AND THERE WERE WARNING LIGHTS THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW (DUE TO THE LEAKAGE). THERE WAS MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT FORD REGARDING THE ISSUE WITH THE CAR AND THEY SAID SINCE THAT SPECIFIC PART WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THEIR EXTENDED SERVICE PROGRAM THAT WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. WE THOUGHT THE FIRST TIME (7/15/2019) WAS A FREAK ACCIDENT OR THE MECHANIC MESSED UP WHEN CHANGING THE FLUIDS, BUT THEN THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED ON THE OTHER SIDE 3 MONTHS LATER (10/14/2019) AND THAT SHOULD NOT BE A COINCIDENCE.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT READ 'CRANK CASE PRESSURE SENSOR' AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE 'ADD COOLANT' LIGHT CAME ON AND BEFORE I GOT TO THE NEXT TOWN, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON NOTIFYING ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO SWITCH INTO THE ENGINE SAVING MODE BEING THAT IT NEEDED MORE COOLANT EMERGENTLY. I USED NEARLY A GALLON OF COOLANT THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP" FOR DIAGNOSING AND SERVICING. THEY SAID I HAD A CRACKED BLOCK DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE WATER PUMP IS LOCATED INSIDE THE ENGINE INSTEAD OF OUTSIDE OF THE ENGINE ON THESE VEHICLES WHICH HAS BEEN RAISING HAVOC IN A LOT OF THESE ENGINES BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE THE PROPER SEAL CAUSING A LEAK TO OCCUR AND THE MATERIAL THEY USE FOR THEIR WATER PUMP IS VERY THIN AND OFTEN TIMES CAUSES A LEAK FROM THE COOLANT THAT GOES DIRECTLY INTO THE ENGINE WHICH IT DID IN MY SITUATION AND CAUSE THE ENGINE TO CRACK. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THIS WOULD'VE HAPPENED IT WOULD'VE BEEN DETRIMENTAL TO MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD AT THAT TIME!
JUST NOTICED A LARGE CRACK DEVELOP IN THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF - FRONT PANEL. UNFORTUNATELY I DO NOT REMEMBER THE EXACT DATE. THE CRACK STARTED SMALL AND SPREAD INTO DIFFERENT CRACKS COVERING A GOOD PORTION OF THE SUNROOF. NO EVIDENCE OF ROCK OR IMPACT. CRACKS APPEAR TO BE STRESS RELATED THOUGH I AM NOT AN EXPERT. CALLED FORD DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THIS IS NOT COVERED AS VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE IS A 2016 FORD EDGE SPORT WITH 25K MILES. GIVEN A VERBAL ESTIMATE THAT THE PART WOULD COST $1K AND LABOR JUST SHY OF $2K FOR A TOTAL OF $3K. I WILL AGAIN REINFORCE THAT THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT OR IMPACT AND THE CRACK APPEARED ONE MORNING AND HAVE GROWN. I AM LOOKING TO SELL THE CAR AND THIS IS IMPACTING THE FINAL PRICE I AM TRYING TO NEGOTIATE.

I NOTICED A LARGE CRACK IN MY 2016 FORD EDGE SPORT SUN ROOF. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED AND THAT I COULD CALL FORD DIRECTLY. I CALLED FORD AND THEY MENTIONED THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. I AM NOT SURE WHEN IT EXACTLY HAPPENED. SOMETIME BETWEEN SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH NEAR MY HOME, I HEARD A LOUD NOISE ON THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER TO SEE IF SOMETHING STRUCK THE ROOF. NOTHING ON THE GROUND AT ALL. WHEN I GOT HOME, I GOT ON A LADDER TO INSPECT THE ROOF. THE REAR GLASS PANEL WAS CRACKED ALL OVER. MY INSURER STATED IT WAS STRUCK BY A FOREIGN OBJECT. I WENT ONLINE TO CARGURU AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ROOF GLASS (PANORAMIC ROOF). THEY ALL CRACKED WITHOUT BEING STRUCK BY ANY FOREIGN OBJECT. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD FOR NOT ISSUING A RECALL. THE PANELS ARE MADE OF LAMINATED GLASS, WHICH, ACCORDING TO FORD, MAKES THE GLASS MUCH MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO BREAK. FORD NOW ONLY MAKES TEMPERED GLASS ROOF PANELS, WHICH ARE STRONGER. THIS, TO ME, IS AN ADMISSION OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ISSUING A RECALL, AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY. MY AUTO INSURANCE HAS THE CLAIM BUT IS GIVING ME A HARD TIME DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE MATERIAL.
RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LINE FAILED RESULTING IN REDUCED BRAKING AND THE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR
HAVE A 2016 FORD EDGE AT ABOUT 64,00 MILES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND OFF, CAR WAS ALSO SPUTTERING WHEN I STARTED IT AND SOUNDS LIKE IT WILL STALL. I KEEP HAVING TO REFILL COOLANT. TOOK IT TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERS WHO ALL SAID A CODE OF P0302 THEY ALL TOLD ME IT WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT OF THE COOLANT PART NOT BEING FLUSH ON THE ENGINE. I FILED A COMPLAINT THROUGH FORD WHO HAS DONE NOTHING FOR ME BECAUSE I'M OUT OF THE MANUFACTURING WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME SEVERAL CARS ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE BUT UNDER MILEAGE FOR WARRANTY. CAR ISN'T EVEN PAID OFF AND FEEL LIKE I WAS SOLD A LEMON, NOW I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND CAN'T AFFORD ONE! WISH FORD WOULD TAKE BETTER CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! MY ENGINE COULD BLOW!!!!!I CAN'T EVEN GET MY CAR SERVICED UNTIL DECEMBER 30TH BECAUSE DEALERSHIP HAS SO MANY CARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-24406514K1H6S2. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
POWER LIFT GATE WILL NOT OPEN SOMETIMES. YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE COMPUTER, DISABLE THE LIFTGATE AND ENABLE THE LIFTGATE. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO IT TWICE. FOUND THE TEMP FIX ON GOOGLE. MY FORD DEALER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
JUST BOUGHT 2016 FORD EDGE TITANIUM W/42,000 MILES. VEHICLE JUST SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. FOUND A WAVY CRACK ON SUNROOF GLASS. ALSO FOUND THERE ARE MANY, MANY OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH NOT MUCH A CONSUMER CAN DO ABOUT IT. IT IS OBVIOUS FROM MY RESEARCH THAT FORD IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM ON THERE EDGE MODEL BUT WILL NOT FIX. I AM A VETERAN AND I AM DISABLED. CANNOT AFFORD TO GET THIS FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS LEFT A VERY BAD TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS WITH DECEPTIVE PRACTICES (I HAVE PROOF). DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. FEEL HELPLESS. WISH I NEVER WOULD HAVE GONE TO GWINNETT PLACE FORD IN GEORGIA. WISH SOMEONE COULD DO SOMETHING. JUST BOUGHT IT 3 WEEKS AGO. DO NOT EVEN HAVE THE LICENSE PLATES YET. WENT IN TO PURCHASE ON FOR 16000 TO 18000, NOW I AM AT 25,000 AND COUNTING. CAR SERVICED AND STATED ALL 20 LUG NUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO ALUMINIUM CASING COVERING THE BOLT. DEFECTIVE LUG NUTS AND IF MY VEHICLE HAD A FLAT TIRE, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE DUE TO SWELLING OF THE COVERING. UNABLE TO HAVE TIRES ROTATED? AND CHANGE A FLAT TIRE DUE TO CHEAP BOLTS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BILL MARSH FORD (408 W MILE RD, KALKASKA, MI 49646, (231) 258-9192) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE FUEL LINE AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FUEL ODOR RETURNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,980.
THE STATIONARY PART OF MY VISTA GLASS SUNROOF CRACKED. THERE IS NO SIGN OF IMPACT AND IT LOOKS LIKE A STRESS CRACK. FORD IS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE I AM 1 MONTH OUTSIDE THE 3 YR WARRANTY WINDOW. I LOOKED ONLINE AND I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME CRACKING ISSUE.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LINE BURST WHILE DRIVING (APPLYING THE BRAKE DURING A TURN ON A CITY STREET), WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, CAUSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO DEPRESS ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR AND MAKING THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP (BY THE TIME I MADE IT HOME IT WAS HARDLY STOPPING AT ALL). FORD REPLACED THE LINE AND SAID IT HAD JUST "WORN OUT" (THOUGH THE CAR WAS JUST OVER 2 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME AND HAD UNDER 24000 MILES). TODAY (08/27/2019) THE OTHER FRONT BRAKE LINE SEEMS TO HAVE BURST (PASSENGER SIDE) AGAIN WHILE DRIVING (AGAIN WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE THIS TIME AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET) AND AGAIN CAUSING THE PEDAL TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MAKING THE CAR EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION AND VERY CONCERNING THAT IT HAS OCCURRED TO BOTH FRONT BRAKE LINES WITHIN THE PAST YEAR, AND ALL WHILE THE CAR IS UNDER 3 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 36,000 MILES. I AM HAVING IT TOWED TO FORD TODAY, AND NO DOUBT THEY WILL SAY THE SAME THING, AND WE WILL STUCK WITH A VEHICLE WAITING FOR ANOTHER BRAKE LINE TO BURST IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I NOTICED A SPIDER WEB STYLE CRACK ON THE REAR SUNROOF PANEL, WHILE IT WAS PARKING.
SHORTLY AFTER BUYING (42,353 MILES) THIS FORD EDGE, PANORAMIC SUNROOF DEVELOPED CRACKS WHILE JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. I HAD TO REPLACE IT ($802) BY SAFELITE BEFORE IT COMPLETED BRAKES AND FALLS ON TOP OF EITHER ME OR MY WIFE. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. DID NOT KNOW THIS PRIOR TO BUY. MY WIFE IS IN CONSTANT FEAR IT MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN AND THAT GLASS WILL FALL ON HER.
Saw there was a recall for wiper motor defects for Ford Explorer and Escape, per NHTSA Campaign Number 26V117. We had intermittent wiper failure with our 2016 Ford Edge Sport years back, which resulted in Ford repurchasing the vehicle back through the BBB (back in 2019). If carry-over parts / design are similar between the Explorer/Escape & Edge, then you may want to investigate incase the scope of this recall needs to be expanded. MY 2016 FORD EDGE SPORT WITH 35K MILES HAS AN ADAPTIVE STEERING FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT ON. THIS CAUSED THE WHEEL TO BECOME LOOSE OR COCKED AT AN ANGLE WHILE DRIVING, WHICH IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. AFTER RESEARCHING MORE, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE MENTIONED THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY RECALL AND NOT A TSB.
MY CAR HAS STARTED TO SHAKE VERY BADLY, AT LIGHTS, STOP, START, ALL TIMES. COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD CAUSING IT TO MISFIRE CONSTANTLY AND CAUSING THE SHAKES. THIS WAS REPAIRED ONCE ALREADY IN 2017, BUT THE REPAIR HAS FAILED AND IS HAPPENING AGAIN. FORD SAYS I NEED A NEW ENGINE BUT I'M OUTSIDE MY WARRANTY AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO COVER THE FULL REPAIR. THEY HAVE A TSB 19-2208 THAT HAS BEEN UPDATED IN JUNE OF 2019 TO CHANGE THE REPAIR FOR CYLINDER REPLACEMENT TO ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO OVERHEAD AND STALL IF NOT CAUGHT RIGHT AWAY.
HANDS FREE LIFTGATE IS DANGEROUS. WHILE PUTTING GROCERIES IN BACK AND REARRANGING THINGS I TRIGGERED THE HANDS FREE LIFTGATE. THE GATE DID NOT STOP COMING DOWN WHEN I TRIED TO STOP IT WITH MY HAND AS IT WAS CLOSING. I GOT OUT OF THE WAY AS IT SLAMMED SHUT. THE GATE DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN AN OBJECT IS PUT IN ITS PATH, LIKE A GARAGE DOOR DOES. IT NEEDS TO! MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER (SHE HAS A 2019 EDGE)AND LUCKILY I WAS THERE AND WAS ABLE TO PUSH HER OUT OF THE WAY AND SHIELD HER HEAD. SHE NOW WILL ONLY PUT THINGS IN HER BACK SEAT, BECAUSE SHE IS AFRAID OF ACTIVATING THAT HANDS FREE LIFTGATE. WE BOTH HAD OUR KEYS IN OUR PURSE/ POCKET. THE MANUAL SAYS NOT TO HAVE IT ON YOU WHEN USING THE BACK GATE, BUT C'MON THAT ISN'T REALISTIC.
WHEN DRIVING MY 2016 FORD EDGE ON THE STREET OR ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR HESITATES 2 TAKE OFF I HAVE TO PRESS ON THE GAS REALLY HARD BEFORE IT STARTS TO TAKE OFF IT SHAKES REALLY BAD AND WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR IT'S SHAKING AND JERKING WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE IT HESITATES TO MOVE WITH THIS HEART JERKING MOTION AND SHAKING THEN IDLES DOWN AND THEN THE CAR WILL MOVE BUT IT STILL TAKES SOME FORCE ON THE GAS PEDAL FOR THE CAR TO MOVE ALSO I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL LIKE OIL OR SOMETHING AND A VERY THICK WHITE SMOKE CLOUDING OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPES THIS PROBLEM STARTED 3 WEEKS AGO AS OF TODAY AUGUST 28TH MY FORD EDGE WILL NOT TURN OVER I'VE TRIED REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR THE SPARK PLUGS IGNITION SWITCH IT WILL NOT TURN OVER THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY SINCE LAST FRIDAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT A PICTURE OF A RANCH AND AND A PICTURE OF A TRIANGLE WITH A CAUTION SIGN IN THE MIDDLE HAS CAME ON AND THEN THE CAR WILL NO LONGER START
CAN'T GET THE LIFT GATE TO OPEN
Coolant Leak into the engine due to a known design defect as documented in TSB-22-2229. Ford purposely stalls diagnosis until the engine is out of warranty and then sticks the customer with the cost of replacement.
DRIVING ON FL HIGHWAY, AT OF SPEED OF 65 MPH, BREAKS WENT DOWN TO FLOOR NEARLY RAMMING INTO BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. HAD TO SWERVE ONTO SHOULDER VEHICLE THEN STOPPED. HAD TO CONTINUE ONTO NEAREST FORD DEALER SERVICE AND BRAKE WAS MAKING AIR LEAK NOISES AND WOULD NOT COMPLETELY STOP, EVEN AT RED LIGHTS. THIS WAS ON A WEDNESDAY CAR WAS NOT LOOKED AT UNTIL FRIDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BREAK BOOSTER, IT IS NOW MONDAY AND I AM STILL PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR AND WAITING FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANGELA KRAUSE FORD (1575 MANSELL RD, ALPHARETTA, GA 30009, (770) 649-5100 WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE LINE HAD RUPTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN I AM DRIVING, MY VOLUME FOR THE RADIO WILL INCREASE VERY QUICKLY WHILE HAVE MY HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING OR PARKED AND IT WILL ACCELERATE AS HIGH AS IT CAN GO. THIS CAN BE STARTLING, BECAUSE I AM NOT EXPECTING THE SOUND TO GET EXTREMELY LOUD, QUICKLY. I HAVE GONE INTO THE SETTINGS AND TURNED THE SETTING TO OFF WHEN IT ASKS ABOUT THE VOLUME INCREASING WHEN WE ACCELERATE THE GAS. HOWEVER, THIS DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH I CHOSE A DATE AT THE BOTTOM AS TO WHEN THIS HAPPENED, IT'S NOT ACCURATE. IT IS VERY RANDOM AND UNPREDICTABLE WHEN THE VOLUME INCREASES.
VEHICLE HAS A MOTION SENSOR UNDER THE REAR AREA THAT ENABLES THE HATCH TO OPEN AND CLOSE WHEN YOU SLIDE YOU FOOT UNDER THE BUMPER IF YOU HAVE THE KEY FOB ON YOU. WHEN YOU BEGIN LOADING PACKAGES IF YOUR FOOT MOVES NEAR THE SENSOR THE HATCH CAN CLOSE DOWN SUDDENLY AND HIT YOU IN THE HEAD OR BACK IF YOU ARE TURNING TO EMPTY A CART. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY FOR THE USER TO SHUT OFF THE MOTION SENSOR. A GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS MANY COMPLAINTS PEOPLE HAVE MADE ON THIS TOPIC. SEVERAL FORD PRODUCTS HAVE THE SAME SYSTEM. VEHICLE IS PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Edge. The contact stated a warning light illuminated the vehicle for the adaptive steering, and the steering wheel was not straight. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who replaced the entire steering wheel with an adaptive motor to fix the issue under a courtesy satisfaction recall by the manufacturer. However, the warning light remained illuminated. The contact then took the vehicle to Gordie Boucher Ford Lincoln of Janesville (2727 US-14, Janesville, WI 53545, (608) 754-5511) who inspected the vehicle and was able to diagnose the failure as a faulty steering column module that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,384.
THE REAR LIGHTS ACROSS THE REAR OF THE CAR, GET FILLED WITH WATER.. THIS STARTED APPROX 2 YEARS AGO WITH SOME CONDENSATION, EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL AND IT WOULD DRY AFTER SOME TIME. RECENTLY IT HAS GOTTEN A LOT WORSE, AND THE WATER FILLS UP OVER THE BULBS AND DOESN'T DRY. PICTURES WERE TAKEN BY THE DEALER AND SUBMITTED TO BOTH WARRANTY CO'S. ONLY TO BE REJECTED.. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE
THE MOON ROOF GLASS IS CRACKING. NO POINT OF IMPACT. THE CAR WAS NOT HIT BY ANY FOREIGN OBJECT. WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, THE SPIDER WEBBING CRACKS GET WORSE.
PANORAMIC ROOF HAS CRACKS. NOTHING HIT THE ROOF AND IT'S KEPT IN A GARAGE
WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HEADWAY HEADED OUT OF TOWN, MY CAR STARTED TO MAKE EXCESSIVE RATTLES AND NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA, WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP THE NOISE WAS MUCH LOUDER. I SMELT A SLIGHT BURNT SMELL, AND ALSO NOTICED THE GEARS JUMPING IN AND OUT. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE CAR, CALLED FOR HELP AND HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK. I TOOK IT TO TAMIAMI FORD, IN WHICH THEY TOLD ME THE FLEX PLATE IS CRACKED. AND I WOULD NEED A NEEDED A NEW FLEX PLATE, TORQUE, CRANKSHAFT. I HAD ABOUT 69,000 MILES ON THE CAR AT THIS POINT AND THEY SAID THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND WOULD NOT COVER THIS. THEY CONTACTED HIGHER PEOPLE AND YET STILL WOULD NOT COVER THE ISSUE. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. BUT AS I SEE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE ON FORUMS. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES OF MY CRACKED FLEXPLATE. I HAVE A TOW BILL AND REPAIR BILL BUT NOT ON HAND AT THE MOMENT.

WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES FAILED, PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I COULD NOT STOP. DEALER SAID FRONT BRAKE LINES HAD FAILED, ONE BURST AND THE OTHER HAD A LARGE BUBBLE IN THE LINE. VEHICLE HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. SECOND PROBLEM IS WITH COMPUTER SCREEN, WHILE DRIVING ALL THE SYSTEMS CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER START FAILING ONE AFTER ANOTHER, AFFECTING SAFETY SYSTEMS CONTROLLED BY THE COMPUTER. WHEN DEALER REPAIRED IT THEY SAID THE INTERFACE TO THE COMPUTER SCREEN WAS DEFECTIVE.
INTERNAL LEAK FROM OIL VALVE/SWITCH ALLOWED FUMES TO LEAK INTO THE CAR FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS AND EXPOSED THE DRIVER TO TOXINS; BLOOD WORK REVEALED HIGH LEVELS OF MTBS; SYMPTOMS INCLUDE EXTREME EXHAUSTION, VISION AND COGNITIVE PROBLEMS, BALANCE ISSUES ITCHY SKIN, AND MORE. FIRST, THE FUMES SHOULD NEVER LEAK INTO THE CAR, SECOND, THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE WHILE THEY ORDERED A PART, AND IT WAS NOT OK TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT WAS POISONING THE DRIVER. THE CAR HAS NOW BEEN FIXED, THE DRIVER'S RECOVERY IS ONGOING.
WHEN FLAT TOWING BEHIND RV VEHICLE GOES INTO A WOBBLE. ONLY WAY TO STOP THE WOBBLE IS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HAPPENED WHEN ENTERING ROAD FROM SHOULDER ALSO ON A ROUGH UNEVEN ROAD. HAPPENED AT SLOW SPEED 10 TO 20 MPH.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING DISINTEGRATED AND CABLE SNAPPED OFF A FEW TIMES!! THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AFFECTING THE RECALLED 2014 FORD FUSION. THEY ARE USING THE SAME BUSHING FOR THE FORD EDGE PER THE PARTS DEPARTMENT WHERE I BOUGHT THE REPLACEMENT. THE PARTS REP SAID THEY ARE SELLING THE BUSHING FOR FORD EDGES ALL THE TIME. :(
