There is already a recall on the Ford Fusion for this very same issue, they have identical engines, fuel systems etc, but code is P1450 and at times, randomly the sound of a struggling fuel pump happens, and the solution is to have the Fuel Canister Purge valve replaced, this is a known and recalled issue on the Ford Fusion but apparently not on the 2016 Ford Escape SE that the majority of those vehicles do have both issues and failures with. Ford knows about this since they already have recalled the Ford Fusion for the very same thing happening. I have a "Forever Warranty" through Ford, which they explained 100% of all moving parts having to do with the Drive Train was covered, however they know about this issue, and yet no recall is happening I told them what the code is they still insist on charging $189 to tell me what my OBDII computer already has a few times at this point. Prestige Ford in Mt Dora, FL is the dealership that I will never deal with again for anything other than to maintain the warranty I was railroaded into that they don't seem to even want to honor making me pay out $189 for a known issue with the engines that are the same engines as in the Ford Fusion. The largest issue is the car can stall at any point in time causing a severely dangerous situation for anyone inside the vehicle when it stalls in middle of a intersection or turn. And of course I have learned it can cause the fuel tank to crack as well, and become deformed also causing a dangerous situation for whoever is operating the vehicle and other people on the road driving. My son is [XXX] and just learning to drive, it's the only car we have and we really have no other choice but to try to drive as safely as we can until a recall is also put out on the 2016 Ford Escape SE. While driving my vehicle my vehicle would suddenly stall while in motion. This stalling happens while driving and has stalled in the middle of intersections causing passing vehicles to slam there breaks to avoid hitting me. In addition my vehicle has stalled and almost causing rear end collisions. There would be no warning signs or no lamps that turn on when it first stalls. After the initial stalling of the vehicle it would rough idle, tug and continue to stall. Until I get to a destination. A check engine lamp may turn on once in awhile but not always. If the mechanic shop is closed and I try to take my car the next day the lamp would be off and it would not stall anymore until I use it further. I have taken my car to a Napa when the engine lamp turned on and pulled a code for fuel pump. Although when I get it to my mechanic the light has turned off and they cant get a code from it. This has been happening for approximately a year now. It also seems to happen when fuel gets to quarter tank or less. This happens multiple times approximately 1-2 times everyb2 weeks.

2016 FORD ESCAPE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN AND I PRAY THAT I CAN GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO TURN IT OFF AND LET IT REST. IS NOT PULLING ANY CODES SO THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW. IT IS SCARY KNOWING IT COULD SHUT DOWN AT ANY TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBELM ASAP!
My car has 25000.00 miles on it. This started last year. It is a 2016 escape. Runs fine until I put gas in it. The car will not start after I fill up. I thought I was crazy, as that is the only time it does this. Once I get it started it is fine until I fill up again. I look online to see if anyone else had this problem and found out it is common with this car. I spent 257.00 for new purge valve and it fixed the problem. The car never showed a check engine or code. This is a comon problem and should be recalled!
DRIVING DOWN VERY BUSY STREET AND VEHICLE STALLED AS I PULLED UP TO TRAFFIC LIGHT AND CAME TO A STOP. AS MANY AS 3-4 TIMES I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED WHILE TRYING TO GET VEHICLE STARTED. PROBLEM SEEMED TO ONLY OCCUR WHEN FUEL TANK IS BELOW 1/2 TANK AND I WOULD NOTICE FUEL FILL PORT FLAPPER VIBRATING AND SUCKING AIR INTO FUEL TANK. THE FORD FOCUS HAS THIS RECALL ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE, WHY NOT ON A FORD ESCAPE. SAME PART USED ON BOTH. THIS PROBLEM WENT ON FOR TWO WEEKS BEFORE I COULD GET VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP.
EMISSIONS PURGE VALVE IS BAD/STUCK. TRUCK STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT TIMES. WHEN SHUT OFF TO GET GAS, MUST WAIT 20 MINUTES BEFORE TRUCK WILL START.
DRIVER WAS DRIVING ON DIRT ROAD ON A HOT DAY. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 102 DEGREES OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE BEGIN TO LOSE POWER AND SUDDENLY IT JUST STALLED. THE DRIVER THEN WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN UNTIL IT FINALLY WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. THIS TIME THE DRIVER WAITED AN ADDITIONAL 20 MINUTES AND FINALLY IT WORKED AGAIN UNTIL THEY MADE IT BACK TO A GAS STATION. THE FUEL LEVEL WAS BARELY UNDER A HALF A TANK. THE VEHICLE TENDS TO SHUT DOWN ON A HOT DAY WHEN FUEL GOES BELOW A HALF A TANK. IT IS CONSISTENT WITH OTHER 2016 FORD ESCAPES.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELLING DOWN RURAL HIGHWAY ON A HOT DAY. IT SHUT DOWN ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 99 DEGREES. THE FUEL LEVEL WAS AT A QUARTER TANK. THE DRIVER THEN LEFT THE VEHICLE OFF ON THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD FOR 10 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL ANOTHER 20 MILES BEFORE BREAKING DOWN AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART. ONCE THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND SPUTTER. ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW. FIRST GARAGE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE O2 SENSORS, SO I REPLACED THEM. THAT NIGHT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN SO I BRING OUT BACK IN, THIS TIME IT'S THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HOLD OFF AND GET A DIAGNOSIS FROM ANOTHER SHOP, 3 HITS WITH THE 2.0 TURBO. I BRING IT INTO FORD TODAY AND THEY'RE SAYING IT'S BOTH.
