TWO WEEKS BEFORE THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN ,THE TRUCK STARTS MAKING TOMUCH NOISE AND AIR SUPENTION DIDN'T GO UP NO MORE . AND STOP MAKING NOISE .
TAKATA RECALL DURING AN INSPECTION OF MY SUSPENSION FOR WORN BUSHINGS, I NOTED SEVERE CORROSION ON MY REAR TRAILING ARMS FOR THE REAR AXLE. THE LOWER ARM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTUALLY HAD A QUARTER SIZE HOLE IN THE INBOARD SIDE OF THE WEB. THIS OBVIOUSLY GREATLY REDUCES THE STRENGTH OF THE ARMS AND COULD CAUSE AXLE SEPARATION FROM THE VEHICLE AND AN OBVIOUS CONTROL HAZARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE TIRES WOBBLED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE WERE UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT ALL FOUR RIMS WERE BENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BELTS AND BANDS WERE WORN FOR ALL FOUR TIRES AND THAT ALL FOUR TIRES COULD HAVE BLOWN OUT. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS FRAYED TO THE POINT THAT IT COULD BLOW OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
HAD ROUTINE SERVICE ON MY 2002 EXPEDITION AT DEALERSHIP,WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLAC UPPER AND LOWER TRAILING ARM ALSO TRACK ARM BECAUSE OF SEVERE CORROSION.
DURING INSPECTION IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE UPPER AND LOWER REAR CONTROL ARMS WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND UNSAFE. HAD THEM REPLACED INCLUDING THE RUSTED THROUGH SHOCKS. HOOD AND ROOF PAINT SHOWS SERIOUS PAINT PEELING AND BUBBLING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT NOTICED SOMETHING LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. ALSO, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION IT WOULD BOUNCE UP AND DOWN ABNORMALLY. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 202,000. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE CHECK AND THEY REPLACED THE LOWER DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINTS. A FEW WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, HIS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES. HE DROVE HIS VEHICLE HOME AND NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT BOTH THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE JUST REPLACED 500 MILES AGO. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT WHOEVER REPLACED THE BALL JOINTS DID NOT CHECK HIS ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL AT THE AUTO SHOP AND HAS YET TO BE COMPLETELY REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,002.
FAILURE OF REAR AIR SUSPENSION WHILE DRIVING. FOUND PREVIOUS MODIFICATION TO REAR HEIGHT SENSOR, REPLACED BALL JOINT BRACKETS WITH BOLT, WASHER, AND NUT. "DEALER NOT RESPONSIBLE", BUT THEY DID ADJUST THE SENSOR PRIOR TO SALE. *NM
FORD EXPEDITION FAILED SUSPENSION SYSTEM REPAIR REQUEST UNDER WARRANTY.*MR THE CONSUMER'S BELIEVED THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS FAULTY. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY REFUSED ANY ASSISTANCE. *NM THE TRANSMISSION STARTED WITH AN OCCASIONAL CHUNK AND OR RATCHETING SOUND, ROUGH, DID NOT MOVE AND WOULD BANG WHEN MOVED, THE DRIVER WINDOW OCCASIONALLY ROLLED UP OUT OF THE TOP RACK AND THERE WAS AIR LEAKAGE, THE VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY BOUNCY AND WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE CONSUMERS HEAD WOULD BOUNCE AGAINST THE ROOF TOP OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE SWAYED SEVERELY WHEN THE VEHICLE MADE A TURN AROUND CURVES. *SC *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT FOUR DAYS AFTER PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND LUNGED SIDE TO SIDE, THE TIRES WERE BALANCED TO TRY AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT RESOLVED.*YH
WHEN SPEEDING OVER 35 MPH FRONT END WILL START TO SHAKE REAL BADLY. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WILL START TO VIBRATE AT STEERING WHEEL, CAUSING SOME TROUBLE FOR CONSUMER ON CONTROLLING VEHICLE. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT HAD NO REMEDY FOR PROBLEM.*AK
EXPEDITION BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE ON DRY, FLAT, PAVEMENT. "FISH TAILING" UNTIL GOING IN A DITCH. BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONDING; AND STEERING WAS IRRADICT.*AK
