Transmission randomly hard down shifts erratically. It feels like i lose control of the vehicle. Shifting is so violent, it's like I were driving over a man hole with a missing cover. These are under normal operating conditions. Not towing, not hard braking. Not extreme cold or hot climate. There are no warning laps on the dash board. This issue has been reviewed at 2 different FORD dealer / repair shops. The first location changed the transmission fluid. The second one changed the transmission torque converter. Documentation can be provided. There is no computer data that indicated an issue when hooked up to the Ford mechanic computer diagnostic tool. The problem continues to happen after repair. The vehicle is still under FORD warranty. 2 Ford mechanics have test driven the vehicle after repair. They recognize the problem, and provide no remedy other than what has already been done. This vehicle feels unsafe to drive.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it failed to start with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was jump-started. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Additionally, the contact stated that the air bag warning light continuously remained illuminated. The failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V847000 (Steering, Air Bags); however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Harsh shifting in relation to TBS 23-2250 causing the vehicle response to be unpredictably unsafe merging or suddenly stopping or accelerating.

Ford has a recall on the low pressure fuel pump but no fix yet. My fuel pump failed and I am being charged to fix it. But that also puts me back on the road with an unsafe vehicle. They will not provide me a rental until the recall has a solution or fix.
Receiving Front Camera Malfunction Service required warning. Also receiving pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency break system warnings. Other systems likely disabled. Found that there was a TSB issued for the same year but on the F-150. DTC's C1001:31, U3000:89, U3000:49. This issue is likely caused by faulty cable connections where condensation has caused corrosion making the system inoperable thus creating a major safety issue for owners. I took the Expedition to SawGrass Ford in Sunrise FL and they confirmed that the issue was due to the electronics/cables. The camera itself was not dirty or blocked. They charged me $250 for a diagnostic and then wanted to charge me $2500+. For the safety and security of all owners please investigate and hold FORD accountable for this.
Transmission has known issue by Ford Motor Company concerning defective components leading to wear and improper function causing potential safety issues with acceleration and deceleration. My vehicle, I purchased used with 32k miles in April of 2025. I started to have issues with shifting approximately 6 months ago when it would shift erratically when cold and when vehicle was not warmed up. On several occasions the vehicle, when shifted into reverse to back out of a parking space, the vehicle hesitates and drops harshly into reverse. This has occurred at least 4 times within the last 3 months. The next issue is when the vehicle is initially started up in the morning and placed into gear to leave my driveway I pull out and it appears to be operating fine. When the transmission goes to upshift it will shift on the gauge screen indicating it is in 3rd gear but either I have no gear and the engine will rev without acceleration, or as in the last circumstance, it will shift to 3rd, jump to 8th gear, and have no accelerator input for approximately 5-10 seconds. The shift indicator shows the transmission then shifts from 8th, to 5th, then down to 3rd and drops harshly into gear and proceeds operation as normal. The transmission will not shift as smoothly as it does when it is warm for approximately 3-5 miles. This type of operation has been identified as being contributed to the interior components of the 10R80 transmission. In particular, the CDF clutch is identified in the TSB for this issue 23-2250. I have had my vehicle at the Ford dealer on 2 occasions for this issue and they have not been able to replicate the issue. I was advised the 2nd time that the service technician stated the transmission was low 2 quarts of fluid and they were unable to get the transmission to replicate the harsh shifting condition. This vehicle was serviced less than 2 months prior and no indication of low fluid was noted in the transmission at the time of service.

My vehicle shutters like it’s is going to die/shit off. When will this issue be resolved with the fuel pump system failure? I will be doing some research with the BBB to find out if this will be an actionable lawsuit. Most consumers who own these types of SUVs are mothers! This needs to be resolved asap!
B&O radio amplifier exploded causing a sharp ear piercing static sound. This caused severe driver distraction and potential fire risk.
My employee was walking to his Ford 2022 Expedition, he had started it remotely, went to open the back of the vehicle, and the glass exploded. We have a video of it happening from a ring camera system.
While transmission is cold. You can start to back up into the street and will come to a complete stop half in the road and half out. Like as if it were in neutral. Then I violently slams back into reverse. From there once it in drive. It will skip gear and slam into a lower gear. The car will also come to a complete stop like in reversing when in drive from a cold starting position.

I have a 2022 Ford Expedition that Ford states some of these are under recall for the backup camera but not mine. On 10/28/25, my backup camera went out with a blank blue sometimes black screen. I took it to Marler Ford where they gave me an estimate of $1000 to replace the camera. I received an oil change on the same day. When I got home I noticed from the diagnostics that my camera was loose in its setting and was able to easily remove it. I am assuming this occurred while at the dealership and will address this with them. While I contemplated what to do, I noticed a change 1 week ago when i backed up even though the camera was removed. It showed the back up lines and no longer the blank screen. I placed the camera back in and now it is working but is still loose so I removed it so it doesn’t fall out. I called Ford. My case number is CXH-XXX. In summary, Ford is still not owning up to the recalls that are a major safety issue in these vehicles and need to be held accountable. I am not confident that this issue will not return if the issue is not fixed. It has caused me stress in not allowing me to be as confident in reverse. It has not resulted in a accident at this time. When slowing down to turn into a parking lot my car suddenly experienced sudden “phantom braking”. I was going slowly and I wasn’t braking. My car only has automatic braking when cruise control is on. Cruise wasn’t on. The car suddenly braked hard and chimed twice. My car has a collision warning system but that doesn’t chime like this. I didn’t see any dash warning lights, it looked normal by the time I looked for warning lights. I coasted into the parking lot because I wasn’t even sure if the engine was running. I couldn’t find anything wrong and everything has seemed normal since then. When it braked, I had my foot above the brake pedal because I was getting ready to brake further as I turned. When the phantom braking happened I felt the pedal move. It suddenly depressed then and sprung back up. I believe I was going less than 20mph.
The sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving. No object impelled the glass. It just spontaneously shattered.
Recently, the rear evaporator core failed, causing a refrigerant leak that disabled the entire A/C system. This left both the front and rear HVAC units inoperable, which not only compromises passenger comfort but also directly impacts safety by reducing the system’s ability to defrost and dehumidify the windshield in hot and humid conditions. After researching this issue, I have confirmed that rear evaporator core failures are being reported by numerous 2021–2023 Expedition owners, many of whom describe identical failures at relatively low mileage. These failures often result in costly repairs ranging from $2,000–$3,500. While Ford has issued Technical Service Bulletins (e.g., TSB 22-2089) related to evaporator and sensor issues on Expeditions, there is currently no recall or extended coverage program for rear evaporator core failures. However, the pattern of owner complaints, dealer diagnoses, and additional NHTSA filings shows that this is a known defect affecting a critical vehicle system. Given: •The premature and widespread nature of these failures, •The documented safety concerns raised in NHTSA complaints, and •The high financial burden placed on customers for what appears to be a design defect, I contacted my local dealer who filed a claim with Ford customer support. My claim was immediately denied and they did not offer any financial support. The year of the vehicle was within 3yr/36,000 warranty however current mileage is ~44,000 and exceeded threshold for warranty assistance.
The vehicle stopped running while driving, my wife stopped at a stop sign after vehicle had run ~ 10 minutes. Upon entering the inter-section the vehicle started to run rough, and ultimately stalled and would not restart. She was able to coast into a parking lot entrance within On Top of World subdivision where we live and get off of main road. After multiple AAA attempts to jump start, AAA confirmed the vehicle was unable to be jump started, therefore vehicle was towed to local ford dealership for diagnostics. They tried to jump start multiple times and after 2 days, pushed it into garage. They confirmed fuel pump failure and replaced with current design. We were charged for towing, new battery, and fuel pump system replacement with current design and advised we would have to bring it back in when Ford identified remedy for current recall. No loaner vehicle provided. We are very concerned as if this event had occurred on an interstate, there is a high risk of accident/injury. After repair with existing part designs we are worried about another failure on busy road/interstate.
The contact's father owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH on the highway, the roof rail trim, and the area in front of the roof rail trim detached. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that assistance could be provided after the dealer had determined the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that after reversing, the rear-view camera displayed a rear-view image but failed to turn off when the vehicle was shifted back into drive(D). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the rear-view camera. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 67,000.
1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. The component that failed is the left front driver side headlight of the vehicle, resulting in low visibility and inability to see or drive the vehicle in it's current condition at night. The only "warning" that could potentially have been a "warning", was the blinker began rapidly blinking the day before the headlight stopped functioning; the blinker no longer worked in the headlight but still worked on the driver mirror and back taillight. By the next day, the driver side headlight no longer functioned. It is my knowledge that Ford has a lifetime guarantee on the headlights for this make, model, and year of vehicle. Due to this not functioning, I would like to get it properly replaced under warranty or guarantee of Ford.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V314000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and a mobile mechanic from an unknown dealer had inspected the vehicle at the residence. Additionally, the contact stated that a week later, the contact noticed a puddle of oil on the ground. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the oil was leaking from the left rear wheel. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
I have a 2022 Ford expedition Platinum that has a window washer hose that has a split causing a water leak on the right-side panel of the vehicle. The labor repair cost is significant, and a mechanic feels it is a defective manufacturing issue. The labor cost to repair by the Ford Dealership is $1,250
I am submitting a formal consumer complaint regarding a persistent brake issue—specifically a loud squeal when coming to a stop in a 2022 Ford Expedition Max Limited purchased as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle through Ford’s Blue Advantage Program. At the time of sale, I was assured the vehicle met certification standards, had no unresolved safety concerns, and that any recalls had been addressed. However, I later learned that Safety Recall 25S47 (NHTSA Campaign 25V-314) had been issued in May 2025—one month prior to purchase—for a front brake line defect that may cause brake fluid leaks, reduced braking performance, and increased crash risk. Despite this, the vehicle was certified and sold with representation that the recall showed “no concern.” Since purchase, the vehicle has exhibited constant brake squealing, worsening stopping performance, and reduced responsiveness. The issue occurs at every stop and persists despite replacement of front and rear brake pads and rotors. Timeline: • Apr 2024 – Prior brake-related service • May 9, 2025 – Recall issued • June 4, 2025 – Brake service prior to sale • June 14, 2025 – Purchased as certified • Within 1 week – Issue reported • June 25, 2025 – Inspection found “no concern” • July 2025 – Pads/rotors replaced • Within 2–3 months – Issue returned • Ongoing – Condition deemed “within guidelines” Multiple attempts to resolve this through the dealer, a consumer complaint organization, a state regulatory complaint, and a manufacturer repair case have not resulted in a fix. This raises concern that a vehicle with a known safety-related defect was certified and sold without proper resolution. I request investigation into whether certification standards were properly followed and whether consumer protection requirements were violated. I am seeking a permanent manufacturer-backed repair, repurchase, or other appropriate relief.
When the vehicle starts, two error messages appear. The first one is "Pre-Collission Assist not available" and the second one is "Front camera fault - Service required". Due to these errors, I have no collission assist and cruise control does not work and cannot be enabled. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times (Since the summer) to be repaired and they have reloaded the software each time. This has not fixed the problem and they refuse to replace any hardware. They have stated that it is a software issue and that a fix will be forthcoming but they have no fix or timeframe as to when it will be fixed.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, the sunroof windscreen flew off and landed on the highway. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was determined that the sunroof windscreen needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred approximately five months later. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 MPH, the sunroof windscreen flew off onto the highway again. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer, where it was determined that the sunroof windscreen needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,065.
The vehicle stalls, when stopped in traffic. In order to restart the vehicle, the transmission must be placed in the “park” position. This happens intermittently after the vehicle has been driven for a longer distance. I have read that this is related to the fuel injection system getting overheated which causes the fuel supply to drop and basically starves the system of the necessary fuel for combustion. Ford does not have a solution for this, however, the problem continues and creates a safety hazard especially during the darker hours.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was sputtering and making a grinding sound while shifting gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed, and the front differential needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the front deferential was rebuilt; however, the sputtering failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.
According to Special Service Message (SSM) 51346, Ford has acknowledged that certain 2022-2023 Expedition models may exhibit this issue due to the roof and spoiler components contacting each other. You can find more details on this concern on Ford's official website and in the SSM documentation. My vehicle has experienced this issue
Sunroof explosion with zero impact
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving in the rain at 60 MPH with the windshield wipers at max speed, the driver’s side windshield wiper started hanging off the side of the windshield and failed to operate as needed. The contact pulled into the nearest gas station and attempted to move the wiper back to the original position; however, the driver’s side windshield wiper failed to move. Despite the failure, the contact continued to drive the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V250000 (Visibility), which was linked to the failure. Two dealers were notified about the failure, and both informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN. The dealers provided estimates for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
When I am completely stop, If I press the cruise control button, it will set the speed at 15 Mph. and will start moving till reaches that speed. I can reproduce that at will, you can see a video here [XXX] After googling this issue, found that I am not the first customer that happens to have that issue. Seee the following thread where a similar issue is described: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The audio system has become inoperable and instead the speakers are blasting static noise with crackling and popping sounds at high volume. Cannot stop it or use any other audio. Very unsafe to drive due to extreme noise level and lack of controls. Appears many people have this issue and there needs to be a recall to fix.
Wipers are the recalled version missing the little block. HOWEVER, the recall is not for my VIN. Coolant keeps disappearing. Hard shifting and or no movement at all while transmission is cold.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact opened the liftgate, and the liftgate failed to operate as intended. The contact stated that the liftgate struck the roof and caused the liftgate to be damaged. The contact stated that when it was cold, the liftgate failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed that there was insufficient margin between the liftgate and roof spoiler. The contact was provided with Manufacturer's Recall Number: SSM 53469. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
I am writing to formally report a significant issue with my vehicle that has resulted in damage to the roof and potential long-term integrity concerns. The liftgate spoiler is contacting the roof in freezing temperatures, which creates a hole in the roof when opening the liftgate. Upon inspection, it appears there is an insufficient margin between the liftgate spoiler and the roof area centerline. This problem is particularly concerning because a hole in the roof allows moisture to penetrate, jeopardizing the structural integrity of the roof and potentially leading to further damage, such as rust or water intrusion into the vehicle. I believe this issue may be the result of a design flaw and would like to request an immediate inspection and resolution. As this defect directly impacts the durability and safety of the vehicle, I urge you to treat this matter as a priority. Please let me know how this issue can be resolved, including any repairs, adjustments, or recalls that may apply. I am happy to provide photographs or additional documentation if needed.
Several incidents in which adaptive cruise control resets itself to 90mph when moving into a higher speed limit area- for example, cruising along at 70mph, pass a speed limit sign allowing 75mph, and suddenly the cruise control resets at 90mph. If you are not very consciously thinking about this you quickly find yourself going 90mph. It never resets at 80 or 85- always 90mph. Going 15 or 20 mph faster than thought or planned certainly grabs your attention and is a safety risk.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while opening the hatch by engaging the automatic release switch, a hole formed in the sheet material, and the spoiler was fractured. The contact stated that there was an abnormal loud clicking sound prior to the failure. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The coating and plastic is failing in the headlights, this can reduce visibility and by extension safety.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition equipped with Hankook, Tire Line: Dynapro, Tire Size: 275/55/R20, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact became aware that the tire pressure was low. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact drove to Discount Tire to inflate the tire. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced, and the brake pedal needed to be cleaned. The battery was replaced, and the brake pedal was cleaned. The vehicle was driven back to the dealer where it was diagnosed, and the failure was linked to the brake pads and rotors. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 8,065.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at various speeds, the pre-collision warning light remained illuminated. On Nov 22 I pulled over to the shoulder of a highway in the midst of a snowstorm to make a phone call. When I went to get back onto the highway, my vehicle lost all brakes...the brake pedal hit the floor...and I had a low-speed impact with a berm rising up to a driveway that intersected the shoulder. The vehicle had to be towed to a nearby dealer. The only mechanism to stop it on/off the tow truck was slamming transmission into park. Due to the storm, I had to spend the night in the vehicle in the freezing cold at the tow destination. The cause of the brake failure was determined to be a material defect of a rubber section of brake line deep in the engine compartment that burst, causing a loss of all brake fluid. It was repaired under warranty. I had just received the vehicle back from repairing the body damage to the bumper when the Ford brake line recall was issued. I believed that my incident in Nov was the result of the issue that resulted in the recall, and that surely the warranty repair would have thus resolved all related issues. That was not the case. When I brought the vehicle to Koons Ford Woodbridge four routine service, they found that it failed the brake line recall test and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. However, they are not actively repairing it. In fact, the parts needed to repair don't exist. I'm told it will be 2-3 months before a part is even available. And they have failed to provide an any vehicle that can safely transport my family of 7. I therefore believe that Ford have *failed to comply* with the NHTSA regulation that obligates them to repair the vechicle. They're not repairing it. So I am therefore left to demand that they select another option available under recall regulations, preferably a full refund of the purchase amount. At a minimum, this incident refutes Ford's published claims that there have been no collisions associated with the brake line defect that resulted in the recall.
My vehicle doesn’t alert me of incoming vehicles and the reverse camera stays on. When I turn on my vehicle the dash stays on with ford sign so when I put on reverse my back up camera doesn’t turn on at all. I have to use all my mirrors to back out of parking. This feature hasn’t been working properly for a year. They keep telling me ford is working to fix this issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the manufacturer would mail another notice when parts were available. The contact stated that a year ago, while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated during the failure. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,844.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition Max. The contact stated that while stopped with the brake pedal depressed in a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated inadvertently without warning. The vehicle crashed into the driver's side center of another vehicle totaling it. The approximate four occupants of the vehicle crashed into sustained unknown injuries and were transported to the hospital. A police report was filed. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle was towed to a collision center where it was repaired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
3rd row seat has metal frame coming through cushion. Had seat cushion replaced once. Ford technician said was design flaw in vehicle and issue will continue to happen. Just had vehicle in again for same issue but Ford will not replace cushion this time because they confirmed other like vehicles are having same issue and deeming is a normal condition. This is a huge safety issue for my children. This is not a normal condition to have a cushion fall through and the metal seat frame is exposed.
