95K MILES. I STOPPED TO USE RESTROOM AND CANE OUT STARTED CAR TO ALARMS THAT SAID 'STEERING ASSIST FAILURE SERVICE REQUIRED. IT HAD NO POWER STEERING. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THIS WAS RECALLED FROM ONE FACTORY BUT IT SEEMS THE ISSUE IS MUCH WIDE SPREAD. I WAS ABLE TO STOP AND RESTART AND IT CLEARED UP ONLY TO GO OUT WHILE DRIVING
I GOT IN MY CAR AND HEARD A STRANGE NOISE OUTSIDE. LOOKED AND FOUND THAT THE SMALLER PIECE OF THE DOOR HANDLE HAD FALLEN OFF. I PICKED IT UP AND GOT BACK IN THE CAR, WOULD FIX IT WHEN I GOT HOME, BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE/LATCH. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE PLASTIC PIECE BACK ON THE HANDLE AND WAS THEN ABLE TO SHUT THE DOOR AND DRIVE HOME. LUCKILY, THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, AS I BELIEVE THE DOOR WOULD HAVE FLOWN OPEN.
I TOOK MY 2015 FORD EXPLORER XLT IN TO FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE RECALLS TAKEN CARE OF TO SEE IF THE ONE RECALL WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE STEERING PROBLEM AND IT DIDN'T. WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE EXPLORER SINCE JULY OF 2020 WITH NO POWER STEERING BECAUSE IT'S OUR ONLY VEHICLE. DEALER SAID IT WOULD COST ME 140.00 FOR THEM TO FIND OUT THE PROBLEM. CAN'T AFFORD IT. IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE TO BE KILLED FOR FORD TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM??????? MY WIFE DROVE TO THE STORE WITH NO PROBLEM AND SHE CAME OUT AND GOT IN AND STARTED IT AND HAD NO POWER STEERING.
THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSES POWER STEERING. HAS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 55MPH, AT LOWER SPEEDS 25MPH, AND WHILE STOPPED IN A PARKING LOT. VEHICLE BECOMES NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. ERROR MESSAGES OCCUR INCLUDING POWER STEERING FAULT, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 EXPLORER BACK IN 2018 WITH THE POPPING NOISE IN THE STEERING. I WAS TOLD BACK THEN IT WAS NORMAL. AS TIME WENT ON, THE POPPING NOISE HAS BECOME WORSE. I HAVE ADDRESSED IT OVER THE PAST WEEK, AND HAVE DETERMINED TWO THINGS. 1, THE TSB PUT OUT BY FORD FOR THE THRUST WASHERS ON THE AXLES IS A WASTE OF MONEY. 2, THE RACK AN PINION SHOULD BE THE TRUE RECALL ON THE 2011-2015 FORD EXPLORER, AND POSSIBLY NEWER MODELS FROM WHAT I HAVE READ. MINE WAS TROUBLESHOT DOWN TO THE RACK AND PINION TODAY BY MY MECHANIC, AND JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HERE, IT'S GOING TO COST $2300 TO REPLACE. I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS OF THE STEERING LOCKING UP OVER PROLONGED SITTING AS WELL. THIS IS ALARMING AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE NHTSA, SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.
VEHICLE IN MOTION ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHICH WAS BEING RESURFACED. UPON THE TRANSITION FROM SMOOTH PAVEMENT TO PAVEMENT WHICH WAS BEING SCRAPED FOR RESURFACING, THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" AND "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE AND THE DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS ONLY WORK BY HOLDING THE STALK IN THE PROPER POSITION MANUALLY. THIS OCCURRED TWICE DURING A TRIP FROM CHARLOTTE, NC TO FORT WORTH, TX. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE THE SAME - TRANSITION FROM SMOOTH TO UNDULATING PAVEMENT.
LOUD ROAD NOISE AROUND DRIVER DOOR, RUBBER SEAL DOES NOT STOP AIR AND ROAD NOISE TO INTERIOR OF VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING, FORD EXPLORER DASH WRENCH LIGHT INDICATOR TURNS ON THEN SUDDENLY YOU LOOSE POWER AND CONTROL AND BRAKING, TECHNICAL DISABLED. YOU HAVE TO COME TO A ROLLING STOP. THEN TURN ON CAR AGAIN TO REMOVE WRENCH LIGHT.
PTU LEAKING WITH 22395 MILES AND 5 YEARS AND 3 DAYS IN SERVICE. OUT OF WARRANTY BY 3 DAYS
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 FORD EXPLORER SPORT ON A ROAD. SUDDENLY, THE CAR SHOWED AN ERROR STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC MESSAGE ON DASHBOARD. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY HARD TO ROTATE AND I AVOIDED THE ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS UNCONTROLLABLE AND BECAUSE OF THIS, THE TURN INDICATOR KNOB HAD SOME ISSUES. I HAD TO KEEP HOLDING THE INDICATOR KNOB IN ORDER TO TURN ON RIGHT/LEFT INDICATION. I HAD TO PUT SO MUCH EXTRA FORCE TO ROTATE THE STEERING WHEEL DURING TURNING. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SCENARIO. I STOPED THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT, TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND WAITED FOR 5 MINUTES TO TURN ON. AFTER THAT THE CAR WORKED WELL FOR FEW MORE MINUTES. THE SAME ERROR AND ISSUE STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN AFTER FEW MINUTES SO I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED THE CODE AND FOUND STEERING GEAR ISSUE, FAILURE CODE U2011:49. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE RELATED TO SAFETY. IT CAN CAUSE FATAL ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF UNCONTROLLABLE STEERING WHEEL ISSUE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED WITHOUT WARNING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS AGGRESSIVELY TURNED TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WORLD FORD PENSACOLA (6397 PENSACOLA BOULEVARD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505) TO BE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 107,000.
STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIKE CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS HURT. BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY FOR MYSELF, GRANDDAUGHTER AND ANYONE ELSE AROUND. THERE WAS NO WARNING. NO SOUNDS NOTHING. I SEE FORD HAD RECALLS FOR UP UNTIL 2013 FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT I DON'T SEE ANY FOR 2015. AND FROM READING INFORMATION IT HAS CAUSED ACCIDENTS INJURING PEOPLE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A RECALL ON THIS
DRIVING AT 20MPH OVER A BRIDGE, MY TOE LINK SNAPPED, CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL AND VEER OFF THE ROAD LOSING CONTROL. I LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OVER MY STEERING AND TIRES REMAINED TURNED, LOSING ALL CONTROL AND ABILITY TO DRIVE. THE TOE LINK WAS SERVICED BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL. HOWEVER, THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THE TOE LINK WAS FIXED ON THIS VEHICLE. NOW, ONLY MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE REGARDING THE TOE LINK AND BUSHINGS. FORD AND DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO COVER THE CHARGES BECAUSE RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN SERVICED. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED TEMPORARILY FOR A FOURTH TIME AND WILL SNAP AS I AM GOING FASTER SPEEDS THAN THE 20 MPH I INITIALLY LOST CONTROL AT. THERE NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER RECALL ON MY ALREADY RECALLED PART, OTHERWISE THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY SAFE DRIVING DISTANCE IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
POWER STEERING STOPPED WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL POWER STEERING PUMP, IT IS ELECTRONIC. WHEN A NORMAL ONE FAILS, YOU CAN STILL STEER EASILY WHEN MOVING. IT ONLY BECOMES HARD WHEN STOPPED OR MOVING SLOW. THE ELECTRONIC ONE GETS EXTREMELY HARD EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH DIAGNOSED IT AS THE RACK AND PINION. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE THAT THERE ARE MANY THAT HAVE FAILED WITH THE SAME ISSUE FOR MULTIPLE YEARS FROM AROUND 2011 ON WHICH TELLS ME IT IS FAIRLY COMMON EVEN ON VEHICLES WITH LOW MILEAGE. *TR
In July 2020, after car had sat mostly unused from March 2020 to June 2020 due to the pandemic lockdown, steering binded up while turning left out of a parking lot at a slow speed. Had to yank the steering wheel to get it to return to normal steering. Made a popping sound when yanked. Didn’t happen again but in September 2020 started noticing a lot of popping when the wheel would turn left or right at slow speeds. Took car to Meineke. They diagnosed need for new front struts. These were replaced at a cost of $1000. Popping stopped until about November 2020. Noticed it again only intermittently when pulling out of driveway and turning steering wheel far left or right. Would hear a single pop sound. From then until June 2021 would notice this intermittently and had steering bind up again probably 2 more times. Very terrifying to have to yank hard to get steering wheel to turn correctly when driving in traffic. Steering did seem a little loose as well. After reading about the hundreds of complaints about rack and pinions going bad on 2014-2016 explorers and seeing that my car’s symptoms were exactly the same I knew this had to be the issue. I took the car to Meineke and they wanted $3600 to replace the rack and pinion which was way too much. Ford dealer at Oxmoor replaced for $1988. The car had 103,000 miles when the problems started. It had a certified preowned warranty through 100,000 miles so of course this wasn’t covered but a rack and pinion should not fail in a 6 year old car with barely over 100K miles. And having steering that doesn’t work is extremely dangerous. Ford needs to step up and take responsibility for this failure and do a recall in ALL explorers that are having this issue and replace the rack and pinions and reimburse those that have had to pay out of pocket for it. My father worked for Ford and I’ve been loyal to this brand but after spending over $3000 on a car in a matter of 6 months that is barely 6 yrs old, I’m done with Ford.
THE PAINT IS STARTING TO BUBBLE IN SEVERAL SPOTS ON THE FRONT EDGE OF THE HOOD. I SEE NO RUST OF ANY KIND JUST BUBBLING PAINT. I METICULOUSLY CARE FOR THIS CAR REGULAR WASH AND WAXES. *TR
FRONT END POPPING NOISE WAS NOTICED AFTER 50,000 MILES. WAS TOLD TO DISREGARD, IT WAS NORMAL. AT 67,000 NOISE BECAME LOUDER, SENSATION IN STEERING WHEEL FELT, LOSS OF STEERING MOMENTARILY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN SITTING STILL, WHILE DRIVING AND ESPECIALLY WHILE MAKING SHARP TURNS. FORD JUST QUOTED $2100 TO REPLACE. I'VE SEEN MANY MORE COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THIS. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND A RISK FOR ANYONE WHO DRIVES THE VEHICLE. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ISSUED YET? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CARRIAGE FORD INC (908 E. LEWIS AND CLARK PKWY, CLARKSVILLE, IN 47129, (612)284-4444) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE STRUT BEARINGS WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, AFTER TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A COST OF $2,300. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
THE WEATHERSTRIPPING ON FRONT DRIVER/PASSENGER DOOR IS ROTTING AWAY, ALSO THE WINDSHIELD RETAINING STRIPS BOTH SIDES, DRY ROTTED.
AIR BAG LIGHT CONSTANTLY STAYS ON. WINDSHIELD PILLAR CAME FLYING OFF AT 70 MILES AN HOUR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD EXPLORER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR KEYPAD DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD OF KENDALL (15551 S DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL 33157, 305-238-9211) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE OF $512 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the passenger’s side front door panel was delaminating. The contact stated that there was a recall regarding the defect however, the recall had since expired. The dealer was contacted and the contact was informed that the vehicle was included in the recall. The contact was informed that the recall repair was to replace the door panel. The dealer had referred the contact to the manufacturer to inquire if the recall could be completed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the recall had since expired. The contact was referred to the NHTSA to file a complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE'S A SNAP NOISE AND THEN I SEE THIS RUBBER FLAPPING AT THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED HITTING THE WINDSHIELD IT SCARED US HALF TO DEATH. I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND PULLED OVER TO LOOK AND SEEN THE PASSENGER WINDSHIELD PILLAR HAD COMPLETELY BROKEN IN HALF WHILE I WAS DRIVING, FLEW OFF AND WAS GONE. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS VERY COMMON IN THE FORD EXPLORERS, THAT THESE WINDSHIELD PILLARS FLY OFF. IM DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM SEEING IT HAPPENS QUITE FREQUENTLY TO THESE CARS ACCORDING TO LOTS OF PEOPLE ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM AND IM VERY THANKFUL IT DID NOT FLY AND HIT SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HONESTLY I THINK FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT NOT ME. SAD BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO AT CARMAXX. *TR

THE WINDSHIELD RETAINING STRIP ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER IS DISINTEGRATING AND CAN EVENTUALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM TIDWELL FORD (2205 BARRETT LAKES BLVD, KENNESAW, GA 30144), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER TAKE OFF UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. *LN*JB
POPPING SOUNDS COMING FROM RIGHT SIDE WHEEL. TOOK TO FORD DEALER TO BE SERVICED AND THE TOLD ME THE GEAR STOP IN THE RACK AND PINION AS BROKEN OFF AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WOULD PUT ME AT $2100. THEY ALSO TOLD ME IF I DID NOT WANT TO REPLACE IT AT THIS TIME I COULD LEAVE IT ALONE AND CONTINUE WITH THE POPPING SOUND OR THEY COULD CUT IT OFF BUT THEN I WOULD NEED TO BE CAREFUL AND NOT OVERLY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR
REAR TOE LINK - REAR SUSPENSION MAY HAVE WELD CRACK AT BUSHING HOUSING ATTACHED TO THE FRAME -NO INCIDENT YET. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 45 IN ILLINOIS IN MY 2015 FORD EXPLORER AND WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT WHEN MY POWER STEERING FAILED AND A WARNING CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY STATING "STEERING ASSIST FAULT " SERVICE REQUIRED. I WAS THREE BLOCKS FROM THE FORD DEALER AND DROVE THERE. STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE SO CLOSE TO THE DEALER. A TECH DID A PIN POINT INSPECTION ON THE VEHICLE AND THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS CORROSION IN THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE TERMINAL CONTACTS. GREASE WAS APPLIED AND I WAS CHARGED $323.00 . I WAS ADVISED THAT IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THAT I MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE ON THE VEHICLE AND THIS WOULD COST $2300.00. THIS VEHICLE HAS 33500 MILES ON IT AND IS GARAGE KEPT WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE . I ASKED WHY THE TERMINAL CONTACTS WEREN'T CHECKED DURING REGULAR MAINTENANCE WHICH WAS DONE THREE MONTHS AGO AND WAS TOLD IT IS NOT PART OF THE INSPECTION .
WHILE DRIVING CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO SPUTTER AND I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE.. HAD ROLL TO A COMPLETE STOP.. ONCE STOPPED I LET IT SIT FOR A MOMENT AND IT RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME.. IT HAS HAPPENED ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS.. AND ON THE DASHBOARD IT DISPLAY A YELLOW WRENCH AND SAYS SEE MANUAL.. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I WAS IN TRAFFIC ON ALL 3 OCCASIONS. *TR
DRIVER DOOR: THE DOOR BLACK TRIM PANEL IS COME OUT AND IT WONT LET ME OPEN AND CLOSE MY WINDOW PROPERLY. I HEAR ABOUT THIS ISSUES IN THE DEALER, BUT I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY RECALL ABOUT IT. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL HAS DETACHED FROM THE DOOR FRAME AT THE TOP NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW.
I BOUGHT THIS VEH. IN 2016 WHEN IT HAD 17,000 MILES ON IT. WITHIN 2 WEEKS I GOT A WARNING LIGHT FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE SENSOR GIVING TROUBLE WAS IN THE SEAT BELT AIRBAG FOR THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY FOR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TSB-0001 PUBLISHED JANUARY, 2016. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE OFF AND ON EVER SINCE WITH THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. IT WOULD STAY ON FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND THEN GO OFF. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK IT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITHOUT THE LIGHT BEING ON. THIS WEEK IT STAYED ON SO I HAD THE DEALER CHECK IT. IT HAD THE CODE B141B WHICH WAS THE SAME CODE REPAIRED IN 2016. SINCE THE REPAIR WAS WARRANTEED FOR 12 MONTHS THE DEALER WANTS $797 TO FIX THE CURRENT ISSUE, WHICH IS THE SAME ONE FROM 2016. I VERY SELDOM USE THE BACK SEAT AS I HAVE NO CHILDREN IN MY HOUSE. I WOULD RATHER NOT SPEND THAT MONEY, SINCE I AM RETIRED, BUT IF I DON'T GET IT FIXED ALL OF THE OTHER AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE WILL NOT WORK. I CONFIRMED WITH A SERVICE ADVISOR THAT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD DEPLOY IF THAT LIGHT IS ON. I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS A WAY TO BY-PASS IT IN THE SYSTEM SO THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND HE SAID IT IS A FMVSS THAT COULD NOT BE MODIFIED AND MUST BE FIXED THE RIGHT WAY. I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING HELD HOSTAGE IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE UNLESS I PAY THE $797 TO GET IT FIXED (AGAIN).
STARTED HEARING POPPING SOUND ON PASSENGERS SIDE WHEN BACKING AND TURNING AND NOW IT HAS ADVANCED TO STEERING FEELS LIKE IT CATCHES OR BINDS FOR A SECOND WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD. *TR
MY WIFE PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO TRAFFIC GOING TO WORK ONE DAY. WHEN SHE PULLED OUT THE CAR SHIFTED HARD THEN WENT INTO NEUTRAL. MY WIFE'S QUICK THINKING TO PULL OF THE SIDE OF THE RD SAVED HER FROM GETTING REAR ENDED. SHE PUT CAR IN PARK THEN SHIFTED TO GO AGAIN. AT THAT MOMENT IS WHEN THE CAR STARTED HOPPING AS SHE DROVE DOWN THE RD. SHE PULLED OVER TO CALL ME. I INSTRUCTED HER TO GO HOME AND NOT TO WORK. I GOT HOME HOURS LATER FROM WORK I THEN DROVE OUR 2015 FORD EXPLORER. IT SHIFTED HARD THEN STARTED TO HOP I TOOK IT HOME AND DID A VISUAL INSPECTION ON THE FLUID LEVEL TIRES AND SHOCKS. I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING ABNORMAL. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER THEY DROVE IT AT 96000 MILES SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT. FAST FORWARD WE HAVE 105000 MILES ON IT PROBLEM PERSISTENTLY GETTING WORSE WE TOOK IT BACK TO VILLAGE FORD. THEY DROVE IT AND SUSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION. THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED SAYING IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD BE 5500.00 $ TO FIX IT. THEY COULDN'T PUT IT ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE BEFORE WARRANTY WAS OUT BUT THEY COULD WHEN OUT OF WARRANTY. NOW I FIND MYSELF SPENDING 4500.00 DOLLAR AUTO REPAIR THAT COULD'VE BEEN DETECTED IF THEY WOULD'VE DIAGNOSED IT PRIOR TO NOW. REGGIE THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THE SERVICE TEAM AT VILLAGE FORD FAILED ME
WHEN THE CAR IS IN REVERSE THE BACK UP CAMERA MALFUNCTIONS. SOMETIMES THE PICTURE IS DISTORTED OR APPEARS BACKWARDS. FOR INSTANCE, THE CURB MAY BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR, BUT APPEARS ON THE LEFT IN THE CAMERA. MORE OFTEN, THE CAMERA DOES NOT WORK AT ALL AND NO WARNING SOUNDS OCCUR FOR OBJECTS THAT MAY BE BEHIND THE CAR. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY RECALL IN 2019 AND 2020 MODELS. I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES, BUT MY YEAR HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED THAT I KNOW OF.
PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 4 MARCH, WAS GONE FOR 10 DAYS. IN THE DAYS SINCE THEN, I HAVE EXPERIENCED EXHAUST SMELLS IN THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES, TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE BECOME LIGHT-HEADED. USUALLY, THE SMELLS ONLY HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RELATIVELY STATIONARY (I.E. STOP SIGN, PARKED BUT ENGINE STILL RUNNING IMMEDIATELY FTER GETTING HOME, DURING ACCELERATION FROM A STOP, REGARDLESS OF THE SETTING ON THE HVAC SYSTEM. I'M ATTEMPTING TO RETURN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME AFTER RESEARCHING MULTIPLE LAWSUITS AGAINST FOR FOR THE FAULTY DESIGN. DUE TO THE ELUSIVE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM, I CAN'T PROVIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE. ALSO, ON-GOING SHIPPING PROBLEMS IN AMERICA (DUE TO COVID 19 PROBLEMS) HAVE LED ME TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SOURCES PARTS TO PROVE THERE IS ALSO CARBON MONOXIDE IN ADDITION TO THE NORMAL AROMA OF CAR EXHAUST.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR STARTED TO SWING OPEN AS I WAS TURNING AND WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT UNTIL I COULD SAFELY PULL OVER. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO INSPECT THE DOOR I NOTICED THAT THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE WAS LOOSE. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE DOOR TO REMAIN CLOSED AFTER PUSHING THE HANDLE BACK IN AND LOCKING THE DOOR.

TEST DRIVE, GOODYEAR, AZ 85338, (623)298-3900) WHO NOTICED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A PINCHED WIRE UNDERNEATH THE REAR SEAT OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO FAIL TO DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE HOWEVER, NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

PASSENGER SEAT BELT (FASTENED, LEFT BRUISES) RELEASED UPON IMPACT; PASSENGER DASH BOARD AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY; DRIVERS' AIRBAG WEAK. PASSENGER HOSPITALIZED FROM LOWER AIRBAG, BROKEN LEG, SEVERE LACERATION.
MY DAUGHTER IN LAW WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CAME ON THE SCREEN AND STEERING BECAME VERY HARD. I FOUND THAT THERE WERE MANY CASES OF THIS HAPPENING ON THE INTERNET AT SPEEDS FROM SLOW TO FAST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO TOLD ME THE STEERING GEAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. HE ALSO SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY FORD EVEN THOUGH SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WERE ON THE WEB. THEY ARE ORDERING THE PART FOR IT AND THE PARTS AND LABOR ARE OVER 2000$. WILL FORD WAIT TIL SOMEBODY GETS KILLED BEFORE THEY RECALL THE VEHICLES?

DRIVING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED. WE WERE TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR TO BRING IT IN BUT IT SOUNDED LIKE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" SINCE THAT WAS THE ERROR MESSAGE, DUH.IT WAS COST $500 FOR AN ALIGNMENT? REPLACED FAULTY RACK AND PINION GEAR AND CHECKED ALIGNMENT(SHOULD BE OK SINCE THEY ALIGNED IT THE SAME DAY) TOTAL BILL $2291.00 THIS IS A 2015 EXPLORER LIMITED THAT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES FOR CAR A CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK IN THE CABIN OF SUV FOR REPAIRS, POWER SEAT REPAIRS AND INTERIOR DOOR PANEL COMING APART.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY STOP ACCELERATING. ONCE YOU ARE ABLE TO GET COMPLETELY STOPPED AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT, IT WILL DO OK UNTIL THE SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN WITH NO WARNING. WHEN IN TRAFFIC OR WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OFF OR COAST TO, THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. HAS HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT 10-20 IN THE PAST 2 -3 YEARS. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, I READ MANY OF THE SAME SITUATIONS. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS THE THROTTLE BODY AND SAID THERE WERE NUMEROUS EXPLORERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
