SEPTEMBER 13TH I GOT INTO A SMALL ACCIDENT. I WAS PULLING MY TRAILER AND MY TRUCK RAN INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. JUST RIGHT SIDE WAS MINOR. TRUCK JUMP ON TOP ON A ANGLE. I WAS FREAKING OUT COULD NOT GET THE SEAT BELT OFF. SOMEBODY HAD TO CUT IT. IM GLAD I WASNT BURNING IN THE TRUCK. I LOVE THESE 94 MODELS. BUT [XXX]. THE GAS FROM THE FRONT TANK GOES TO THE BACK THING AND THE TRUCK HESITATES AND CUTS OFF. AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS BLINKING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT START WHEN CRANKED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE FAILED AT LEAST TWENTY TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 192,000.

A FORD TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THE AIRBAG MAY NOT PROPERLY DEPLOY IF NOT CORRECTED. CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME PART SEEMS TO INDICATE A MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 1994 FORD F150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF HIS SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE CONTACT ABRUPTLY ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIBS, FOREHEAD AND HAD TO HAVE ADJUSTMENTS TO A PACEMAKER. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 172,000.

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL DISCONNECTED UNDER RECALL #05V38800. AFTER THE DEALER DISCONNECTED THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE HORN BEGAN TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT DURING THE INITIAL DISCONNECTING OF THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH, THE BATTERY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED, BUT WASN'T AND THIS RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO THE CLOCK SPRING AND THE HORN ASSEMBLY. *AK
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE HORN WAS INOPERABLE. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL, # 93V184000, REGARDING THE AIRBAGS. THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL; HOWEVER, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.
SPEED WAS APPROX. 30 MPH, MAKING A BEND WHEN TRUCK WENT STRAIGHT WHICH CAUSED HEAD-ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING INJURY TO ARM, AND CHEST AREA. NOTHING DONE TO CORRECT PROBLEM DUE TO FACT THAT VEHICLE WAS TOTALED

MY 1994 FORD F-150 LIGHTNING SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEMS REPORTED BY OTHERS IN THE COMPLAINT DATABASE ON THIS SITE. I HAVE THE INTERMITENT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT, LOSS OF CRUISE CONTROL, AND LOSS OF HORN. I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THE AIRBAG IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL DUE TO THIS. THERE ARE MANY ENTREES WITH THE SAME BROCKEN CLOCKSPRING AT FAULT. IT WOULD SEEM THAT FORD HAS A DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT CAN COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS. I HOPE THAT SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT FORD SOCKING EVERY OWNER WITH A $250.00 CHARGE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. I ALSO HAVE THE BROCKEN PLASTIC DASH MOUNT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH CAUSES EXTREME DASH BOUNCING AT THE SLIGHTES BUMP. I HAVE LOOKED ON LATER MODEL TRUCKS WITH THE SAME DASH AND THE MOUNTING BRACKET IS DIFFERENT, IT WOULD SEEM FORD DIAGNOSED THIS PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT FIX IT IN PREVIOUS MODELS. I HOPE THAT THIS INFORMATION WILL BE FOLLOWED UP WITH THE MANUFACTURE AND MIGHT CAUSE SOME GOOD.*AK

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR REPLACEMENT OR REIMBURSEMENT IF REPLACED BY OWNER ALREADY. I AM AWARE THAT RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER MAKE VEHICLES.
