DASH ON RIGHT SIDE MOVES UP AND DOWN WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD,FOUND THE MOUNTING TAB (MADE OF PLASTIC) BROKEN ON THE RIGHT SIDE BY DOOR. WHEN DRIVING WITH HEADLIGHTS ON THEY WILL GO OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON SOMETIMES IN A SECOND OR TWO,OTHER TIMES IF THE LIGHTS ARE TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON THEY WILL WORK FOR AWHILE. HAVE CHECKED THE WIRING AND BULB SIZE AND IT ALL SEEMS TO BE ALRIGHT. ANY HELP WITH THIS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIETED. *AK
I HEARD ON THE NEWS THAT 1993 FORD TRUCKS WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ONE FUEL TANK FILLING INTO THE OTHER AND OVERFLOWING. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A FIRE HAZZARD. I HAVE A 1994 F150 THAT IS DOING THE SAME THING BUT FORD SAYS THAT IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. OBVIOUSLY I THINK THIS IS WRONG. SPILLING FUEL IS SPILLING FUEL. I APPRECIATE ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN GIVE ME. THANKS

VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE BETWEEN THE FUSE PANEL & BATTERY. INCIDENT WAS CAUGHT ON SURVEILLANCE TAPE IN A HOSPITAL PAKING LOT WHICH SHOWED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM FRONT HOOD. ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON VEHICLE. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED FORD TO RECEIVE A PACKET TO COMPLETE. CONSUMER FOUND 2 TSB ON INTERNET IN RELATION TO HIS SITUATION.*AK
FIRESTONE FR480 TIRES P235/75R15 DOT VDHL1PA104 EXPERIENCED HAIR LINE CRACKS ON THE SIDEWALL WHERE TREAD MEETS, CONSUMER COULD HEAR A FLAPPING NOISE WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE FAULTY TIRES. *SLC
WHILE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH THE TIRE CAME APART AT THE SIDEWALL. THE TIRE PROBABLY HAS ONLY 25K APPROX MILES ON IT. THE POLICEMAN AND A TIRE DEALER BOTH LOOKED AT THE TIRE, AND BELIEVE THAT IT JUST CAME APART. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE TIRE HAD LOW TIRE PRESSURE, OR WAS PUNCTURED IN ANY WAY.( DOT NUMBER: W2??? TIRE SIZE: P235/75R15 )
STEERING POWER PUMP PIPES WERE REPLACED AT 42OOO MILES, THE POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC TUBING RUSTED THROUTH AND LEAKED CAUSING POWER STEERING FLUID TO LEAK OUT. BRAKE LINE TUBING RUSTED THROUGH AND BRAKE FLUID LEAKED OUT, CAUSING A BRAKE LOSS, LATER CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WITH A COMPLAINT OF THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LOCKING UP, DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE HOSES, DEALER HAD TROUBLE UNSCREWING THE BRAKE LINE TUBING FITTING NUT AND BROKE THE TUBING BECAUSE THE NUT HAD RUSTED TO THE TUBING AND THE THREAD, CONSUMER FEELS THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY DEFECT. *SLC
CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE, AND MECHANIC POINTED OUT A HOLE INSIDE OF THE OIL PAN. FORD USED RECYCLEED OIL PANS. OIL PAN WAS LEAKING OUT OIL FROM UNDERNEATH. HE CONTACTED FORD AT THIS TIME THERE IS A SOLUTION.*AK THE GASKET AND THE OIL PAN FAILED DUE TO INCORRECT METAL USED BY MANUFACTURER. *YH
THIS PARTICULAR TIRE WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST AND HAD ONLY 15,000 MILES, BUT I WANTED TO REPLACE THEM ANYWAY. UPON REPLACING THEM, WE FOUND A LARGE, SOFT, JELLY-LIKE SPOT ON ONE OF THE REAR TIRES. IT WAS THIN AND BEGINNING TO SPLIT EVEN THOUGH THE TREAD( DOT NUMBER: W2 TIRE SIZE: P265/75R15 )

AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE PANEL IS ALWAYS ON THE HORN . LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
HORN ASSEMBLY WASN'T WORKING. LIGHT FLASHED ON & OFF FOR AIR BAG. DEALER SAID AIR BAG WOULDN'T DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. DEALER DIAGNOSED THE CLOCK SPRING TO BE THE PROBLEM, IT WORE OUT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AND BRAKING THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHICH SEEMED LIKE VEHICLE RAN OVER AN OBJECT. TOOK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT DETERMINE CAUSE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
FIRESTONE FIREHAWK RMT TIES (P265 75 R16) EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *SLC
AIR BAG SYSTEM IS INOPPROTIVE ALONG WITH THE HORN THE AIR BAG ICON ON THE DASH IS FLASHING A CODE OF 2 FLASHES AND THEN 3 FLASHES THE HORN DOES WORK IF MAY ACTIVATED BUT NOT IF ACTIVATED BY THE SWITCH ON THE STEARING WHEEL. *AK
PE00020; TIRE IS BELIEVED TO BE A WILDERNESS, SIZE P235R15, AND DOT NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE. TIRES WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 1994 FORD F150, AND HAD 40 THOUSAND MILES ON THEM. WHEN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH RIGHT REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED IN THE CENTER, CENTER PORTION OF THE TREAD PEELED COMPLETELY BACK FROM THE TIRE. CONSUMER CONTACTED FIRESTONE, AND FIRESTONE REPLACED TIRE AT NO COST. *AK
PE00.020; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD EXPLODED, AND THEY WERE RIDDING ON THE RIM. PULLED OVER AND CHANGED THE TIRE. TIRES WERE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS ATX. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN VEHICLE STALLED. TOOK VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A FUEL TANK DELIVERY MODULE DEFECT. GAS IS FILLING UP INTO THE USED TANK, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT.*AK
FRONT TANK AND THE BACK TANK WERE LEAKING. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, CONSUMER FIXED BACK TANK HIMSELF, AND PRESENTLY CONSUMER NEEDS FRONT TANK FIXED. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR CONSUMER. *AK
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 94 F150, P235/75R15 SIZE. AT 55MPH TREAD SEPARATED ON THE REAR RIGHT TIRE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND TRAILER. *AK
PE00 020; CONSUMER WAS GOING TO WORK AND VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THEN, HE WENT TO START VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT TIRE ON THE LEFT REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HAD BLOWNOUT FROM SITTING IN THE YARD. TIRE IS A FIRESTONE FR480, P23575R15, VDHLDOT. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE HAD CONTACTED FIRESTONE.*AK
OIL PAN IS EXPERINCING SEVERE PROBLEM WITH RUST/CORROSION, CAUSING OIL LEAKAGES; DEALER/MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT ITEM WAS NOT COVER UNDER A RECALL AND IT OUT OF WARRANTY. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

FIRST TIRE FAILURE WAS A BLOW OUT AT ABOUT 70 MPH. SECOND TIRE FAILURE WAS BROKEN STEEL BELTS. THE TIRE WAS REMOVE BEFORE TOTAL FAILURE. THE TWO REAR TIRES WERE REPLACED WHEN IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE TREAD WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE ALONG THE EDGES OF THE TIRE. PEOO O20; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50MPH ON THE HIGHWAY ALL OF SUDDEN VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE. HE PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDERS AND NOTICED THAT RIGHT REAR TIRE THE TREAD SEPARATION. TIRE FIRESTONE#, P23575R15, FR480. HE HAS CONTACTED FIRESTONE.*AK
CONSUMER'S WIFE WAS HIT BY AN ONCOMING AUTOMOBILE WHILE SH STOPPED, AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED SOME BRUISES.*AK
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN COMING OUT OF FIRST GEAR. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN HOPPING UNCONTROLLABLY, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT, THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE BELTS WERE FAILING AND THAT THE TIRES SHOULD BE REPLACED, THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES PRIOR TO RECALL 00T-005 AND IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT (FIRESTONE P235/75R15). WHEN DRIVING ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON DASHBOARD, AND VEHICLE'S SPEED WOULD INCREASE WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO WHEN ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WENT OFF, ENGINE WOULD FLUSTER. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK DEALER REPLACED O2 SENSOR AND SPARK PLUGS. WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND CONSUMER LOST CONTROL, VEHICLE WENT UP ON A BANK, AND THEN CAME TO A STOP IN A DITCH, CONSUMER HAS NOT DRIVEN VEHICLE SINCE THEN, THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT BECAUSE DAMAGE DID NOT EXCEED 1000 DOLLARS. *SLC
LOOKING AT PREVIOUS YEARS 89 THROUGH 93. THIS PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED AND A RECALL WAS PERFORMED, BUT AS OF THIS DATE NO RECALL FOR THE YEAR 94. NO SAFETY DEFCT LISTED IN SUMMARY. *AK

WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY THE TRUCK JUST SHUTS DOWN FOR NO REASON AT 60 MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, THIS DOESN'T EVEN SHOW UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE THE MECHANIC DIDN'T BELIEVE ME UNTIL HIS SERVICE TECH TOOK IT OUT AND IT HAPPENED TO HIM. MY ANSWER WAS WELL WAIT TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND THEN CALL ME! WHAT IF IN THE MEANTIME I CREATE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN 2 YEARS THAT THE TRUCK HAS SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY AND I HAVE HAD TO BE TOWED TO FORD. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THIS SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. *AK
WHILE DRIVING STEERING COLUMN GOT STUCK, AND LOST CONTROL. ALSO, BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A TREE. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING OR BRAKING SYSTEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING CONSUMER NOTICED THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR READING LOW. ALSO, SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT END. LIFTED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE AROUND THE ALTERNATOR. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. *AK
FRONT FUEL TANK IS LEAKING FUEL. *AK
PURCHASED THE CAR USED WITH 19000 MILES. THE ORIGINAL SPARE WAS NEW WHEN THE SECOND SET OF TIRES WERE NEEDED. WENT TO FIRESTONE AND SAID SELL ME 3 NEW ONES JUST LIKE THE SPARE. AFTER ABOUT HALF THE LIFE OF THE TIRES OR MORE, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH ON 11-14-98 AT 3:00 AM IN THE MORNING GOING GOOSE HUNTING WITH MY TWO BOYS. ALL THE TREAD COMPLETETLY PEELED OFF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE AND I FISHTAILED DOWN THE INTERSTATE. LUCKLIY NOBODY ELSE WAS ON THE ROAD. THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW OUT AND STILL HAD AIR IN IT WHEN I GOT STOPPED. I CHANGED THE SPARE IN THE DARK WITH A FLASHLIGHT AND WENT ON. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO FIRESTONE AND HAD THE TIRE ADJUSTED. THE NEXT FOLLOWING DAY I NOTICED THE TIRE HAD BADLY DAMAGED THE FENDERWELL ABOVE THAT TIRE. WENT BACK TO FIRESTONE AND COMPLAINED WHY THEY DIDNT TELL ME AND REQUSTED THEY FIX IT.THEY FIRST TOLD ME NOTHING COULD BE DONE WITHOUT THE DAMAGED TIRE WHICH THEY SUPPOSSEDLY THREW AWAY. I CHOOSE NOT TO FIX THE DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY. ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF LATER A LARGE BUBBLE APPEARED ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE (ONE OF THE THREE PURCHASED WITH THE SECOND SET) WHERE THE TREAD WAS STARTING TO SEPARATE. I TOOK THIS TIRE TO FIRESTONE(SAME PLACE) AND ALSO PAID TO HAVE IT ADJUSTED. AFTER THREATING TO SUE FOR PREVIOUS DAMAGE THEY REFERRED ME TO THE MANUFACTURE IN OHIO (I THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN ILLINOIS). I TOOK THAT TIRE HOME. AFTER SEVERAL DISSCUSSIONS WITH THE MANUFACTURE I RECEIVED A COMPLAINT FORM GOT 3 ESTIMATES ON THE PREVIOUS DAMAGE AND SHIPPED THE SECOND TIRE TO THEM. IN MAY OF 99 THEY PAID AN ADJUSTED CLAIM OF ABOUT $1200.00. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF THAT PAYMENT THE THIRD TIRE OF (3) LOST A LARGE PIECE OF ITS TREAD. LUCKILY IT BROKE OFF AND HIT UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND DIDN'T DO ANY DAMAGE. I PAID TO HAVE THIS TIRE ADJUSTED ALSO. I ALSO STILL HAVE THIS TIRE. JUST WANTED TO COMPLAIN AND ENCOURAGE THIS BRAND TO BE RECALLED. HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ADJUSTED ONES YET, BUT WORRY ABOUT THEM WITH THE RECENT RECALL
WHILEDRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED & ENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL. IT FAILED TO REMAIN ENGAGED. THE BUTTON WAS PUSHED, BUT THE SPEED FAILED TO BE MAINTAINED. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER & HAVE MECHANIC CHECK IT. *AK

DESIGN OF OIL PAN ,WHICH IS MADE WITH A LIGHTER SHEET OF METAL TO MAKE THE VEHICLE WEIGH LESS, CAUSES THE OIL PAN TO RUST THROUGH, AND HAVE AN OIL LEAK. THIS MAY RESULT IN A FIRE IF THERE WAS A SOURCE OF IGNITION. ALSO BRAKE PROPORTIONAL VALVE/DRUM ON PASSENGER'S SIDE/STARTER, AND ENGINE HEAD AND BLOCK RUSTED *AK
INTERMITTANT WINDSHEILD WIPERS FAIL REPEATEDLY WHEN DRIVING OR DO NOT WORK CORRECTLY.
THE FUEL TANK WOULD LEAK THRUOUGH THE VALVES. WHENEVER THE CAP IS REMOVED, THE FUEL WOULD SPILL OUT. THE FUEL SWITCH IS USED TO SWITCH FUEL TANKS FROM BACK TO FRONT & LEAKAGE WOULD HAPPEN THEN. BEEN TO DEALER & VEHICLE NOT UNDER RECALL. HAVING FUEL TANK REPAIRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60-70 MPH, LEFT REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED A TREAD SEPARATION. TIRE NEVER WENT FLAT. FIRESTONE WILDERNESS, P235/75R15. *AK THE FAILED TIRE CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *SLC
