BRAKE CYLINDER LEAKAGE CAUSED ACCIDENT.
DURING BRAKE APPLICATION FRONT END VIBRATES AND TIRES WERE WORN. *AK *SLC
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH DEFECTIVE DIFFERENTIAL. DEALER REPLACED TWO DIFFERENTIALS AND PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. FINALLY, CONSUMER HAD AN INDEPENDENT SHOP REPLACE THE DIFFERENTIAL, AND HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT. CAN NHTSA HELP IN THIS MATTER AND PROVIDE SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *AK
TRAILER HITCH DETACHED HIT DRIVERS VEHICLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DRIVER RECEIVED BURN INJURIES TO IS RIGHT ARM. *AK
THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT RECEIVE ANY RECALL PARTS OR INFORMATION DEALING WITH SEATS. RECEIVED THE LETTER MAY 28,1996.
UPON APPLYING BRAKES, VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL. (QCAW)
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE WHOLE FRONT END SHIMMIES AND LOSES CONTROL, VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH ABS.*AK
ENGINE IDLES HIGH ON OCCASION.
ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP LOCATED IN THE GAS TANK UNDERNEATH THE BED IS INOPERATIVE. IF SHORTAGE OCCURRED IT COULD RESULT IN VEHICLE FIRE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS & STARTED APPLYING BRAKES, VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO LEFT; HAD TO REPLACE ROTORS/CALIPERS & PADS DUE TO BRAKES BEING WORN OUT UNEVENLY. TOWED, CAMS HAD TO BE REPLACED ALSO. *AK
BRAKES WORE OUT FOUR TIMES IN 17000 MILES. *DH
VEHICLE'S FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER TWICE, INCLUDING PADS. *AK
AIR BAGS, FAILURE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG, THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AND THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP REPLACED DUE TO SHORT.
FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ON VEHICLE CAUSES THE WHEEL TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING. *AK
A SUDDEN AND SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED FROM THE FUEL PUMP/HOSES/FITTINGS RESULTING IN FIRE WHILE BEING OPERATED ON THE HIGHWAY. (ATTORNEY FOR CLIENT)AW

EXCESSIVE WEAR OF THE FRONT ROTORS, ROTORS WERE RESURFACED TWICE IN 20K MILES. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY, THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING HUBS SELF ENGAGES EITHER PARTIALLY OR FULLY, AND WHEN MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN THE FRONT END ENGAGES COMPLETELY. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECTIFY PROBLEM. *AK
APPLIED ABS BRAKES ON WET SURFACE, TRUCK CONTINUED FORWARD UNTIL IMPACT/UPON FRONTAL IMPACT, AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR SOUND CAN BEARLY BE HEARD. *SD
AT LESS THN 1500MILES THE COUMPUTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE IDLE BEING SO ROUGH. THE REPLACING OF THE COMPUTOR DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND THE TRUCK IDLES SO ROUGH THAT AT TIMES IT WILL CUT OFF AT A STOPLIGHT OR SET THERE AND JUST SHAKE. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A NORMAL PROBLEM AND THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. THAT WAS PROBLEM #1. THE SECOND PROBLEM WAS THE BRAKES STARTED SHUDDERING BEFORE I HAD 10,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER TURNED THE BRAKES AND TOOK OFF THE FRONT HUBS AND TURNED THE ROTORS AND REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE SHOES. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIXED. THE MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN THE AUTOMATIC FRONT LOCKING HUBS. IN MAKING MODERATE TURNS TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT THE FRONT HUBS WILL SOMETIMES ENGAGE BY THEMSELVES CAUSING THE VEHILCE TO PULL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT WITH NO NOTICE. ALSO THE FRONT LOCKING HUBS WILL AT TIMES NOT ENGAGE WHEN PUT IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE , THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN THE 4-WHEEL FUNCTION WAS EXTREMELY NECESSARY. ONE EXAMPLE WAS GOING UP A SNOW COVERED ROAD ,PULLING A TRAILER WITH A MOTORCYCLE ON IT. THE AUTOMATIC HUBS JUST ON THEIR ON DISENGAGED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP IT'S FORWARD PROGRESS AND TO START SLIPPING DOWN THE HILL WITH THE BRAKES ALL LOCKED. WHAT IS BAD IS THAT I HAVE CONTACTED ARMSTONG FORD AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH AUTOMATIC HUBS. THIS IS A TOTAL LIE. THE CAR PART DEALERS AROUND THIS AREA HAVE TOLD ME THAT ONE OF THEIR FASTEST MOVING REPLACEMENT PARTS IS KITS TO CONVERT FROM AUTOMATIC LOCKING HUBS TO MANUAL. FORD HAS KNOWN OF THE PROBLEM OF THE 1995 AND 1996 FORD 4-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES BUT HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDED THE PROBLEM. MY TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR OF THE 4-WHEEL AUTMATIC HUBS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY SAID THEY WERE FINE. THIS WAS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 28,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW ONLY GOT 32,000 MILES ON IT BUT I AM GOING TO TRY TO CHANGE OUT THE AUTMATIC HUBS TO MANUAL. I AM PISSED!!!!
WHILE DRIVING SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDER DASH OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND THEN THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE.*AK
FRONT BRAKES HAVE MALFUNCTIONED FIVE TIMES. *DSH
WHILE SON WAS DRIVING OUT A DRIVEWAY HEARD A NOISE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE LIKE A GUN SHOT. THEN HE COULD SEE THAT THE SUSPENSION COIL SPRINGS BROKE. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO SERVICE STATION, BOTH COIL SPRINGS REPLACED. *AK *ML

VEHICLE SURGES OCCASIONALLY, ALSO STALLS ON DOWNHILL STOPS IF ENGINE NOT WARMED UP. *DH
FAILURE OF THE (ABS) BRAKES CAUSED CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. TT
WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. TT
THE WHEEL HUBS OPEN AND CLOSE RAMDOMLY, CAUSING LOUD FRONT END NOISES. TT
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE JUMPS OUT OF 2ND INTO 4TH GEAR, THE HUBS LOCKED UP. *AK
THE FRAME UNDER THE TRANSMISSION STARTED POPING VERY EARLY. REPEATED ATTEMTS WERE MADE BY THE DEALER TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. FINALLY AN OUTSIDE BRAKE SHOP IDED THE PROBLEM AND THE DEALER REPAIRED AT ABOUT 45000 MILES PROBLEM SOON RETURNED AND NOW DISABLES THE VECHILE
THE TRUCK MAKES A POPPING NOISE THAT IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE STEERING. WHEN BODY SHIFTS POPPING NOISE COMES FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAB. REPLACED STABILIZER ARM BUSHINGS, THIS DID NOT FIX. OWNER THINKS NOISE MAY BE FRAME/BODY PROBLEM.
THE FRONT AXLE AND WHEELS LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TT
DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN A FRONT COLLISON AT 80 MPH. TT
CLUTCH FAILED TWICE.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION, WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHUTTER. TT
THE TRUCK SOMETIMES HAS NO BRAKES AND THE TRUCK HAS ABS BRAKES IN THE REAR ONLY. PLEASE DESCRIBE. TT

AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE LIMBAR SEAT, CAUSED THE WIRES TO OVERHEAT/MELT, RESULTING IN A FIRE PRIOR TO RECALL (96V-064). *AK
PURCHASED TRUCK NEW, THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK GEAR, IT SLID OUT OF GEAR AND ROLLED DOWN HILL, ALSO NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DURING ACCIDENT, DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. *AK
TRANSMISSION ROLLED WHILE IN PARK GEAR, CAUSING ACCIDENT/INJURY TO DRIVER WHEN VEHICLE ROLLED OVER HIM . *DH
4 WHEEL DRIVE HUBS FAIL TO DISENGAGE PROPERLY, MAKE BAD RATCHET NOISE.
ABS, BRAKE FAILURE , WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED EXPERIENCE LOCKUP, REPLACEMENT OF DISC PADS AND ROTORS. TT *JB
