STEERING COLUMN PROBLEM.
WHEN VEHICLE IS IN PARK POSITION, IT WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS/FORWARDS; ALSO WHEN STARTING VEHICLE, IT WOULD SURGE FORWARD AT LEAST 3 FEET OR MORE. *AK
VEHICLE RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE/COLUMN BRACKET FAILED PRIOR TO NOTICE RESULTING IN VEHICLE COLLISION AND INJURY. (ATTORNEY FOR CONSUMER).
VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY WHILE IN PARK ON SLIGHT INCLINE; ALSO VEHICLE VEERS TO THE LEFT AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS SKIP CYCLES WHILE ON DELAY. *AK
COMING TO A STOP HAS TAKEN FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND THERE IS NO DECREASE IN THE SPEED. MOTOR IDLES VERY HIGH. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION SEVERAL TIMES, RESULTING IN A COLLISION.
WHENEVER CONSUMER EXITS THE VEHICLE, IF EVER TOUCHING ANY METAL PARTS, IT WILL THEN EXERT SPARKS OF FIRE. CONSUMER SAYS IF STANDING CLOSE ENOUGH ONE CAN HEAR THE SIZZLING. CONSUMER ALSO HAS MEASURED THE DISTANCE OF THESE SPARKS WHICH HE MEASURED AT THREE INCHES AWAY. CONSUMER THOUGHT IT WOULD GO AWAY, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY GETTING BIGGER. CONSUMER DOES NOT OWN TRUCK, HE'S LEASING IT FROM FORD. *AK
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER JET DOES NOT REACH THE WINDSHIELD ABOVE 40MPH. HAD JET REPLACED AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. *AK *JB
BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY, STOPPED VEHICLE, PUT IN PARK; GOT OUT OF VEHICLE, STARTED MOVING BACKWARDS, GOT INTO VEHICLE & PUT IT IN PARK AGAIN, GOT OUT & VEHICLE STARTED BACKWARDS AGAIN; VEHICLE JUMPED OUT OF GEAR; MANUFACTURER/DEALER COULD/WOULD NOT HELP W/PROBLEM. *AK

DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 40MPH STARTED TO APPLY BRAKES, STOPPED & THE ABS LOCKED UP. TOOK TO DEALER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES & EACH TIME WAS INFORMED NOTHING WAS WRONG. COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM. *AK

UPON STARTUP OF VEHICLE WHILE IN PARK POSITION ENGINE SURGED FORWARD. *AK
CONSUMER NOTES THAT DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHEN DEPRESSING THE PEDAL, THE HOOK ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE PEDAL IS STICKING TO THE FLOOR MAT, RESULTING IN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *AK
GAS PEDAL GETS CAUGHT ON FLOOR MAT WHEN FLOORED TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE.
EA97027; THE REAR RIGHT WHEEL FELL OFF DUE TO THE AXLE BREAKING AND CAUSING THE WHEEL BOLTS TO SHEAR OFF, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK
PROBLEM: THE CENTER CONSOLE ARMREST IN THE FRONT BENCH SEAT DOES NOT LOCK WHEN IT IS IN THE DOWN POSITION FOR USE. THIS ARMREST CONTAINS A SINGLE, RECESSED CUP HOLDER LOCATED IN THE FRONT OF THE ARMREST WHEN IT IS IN THE DOWN POSITION. ANY CUP CONTAINING A LIQUID, SUCH AS HOT COFFEE, CAN BE PROPELLED INTO THE BACK SEAT AND CAUSE POTENTIAL SEVERE INJURY TO A PASSENGER. *AK
THE FAILURE OCCURS AT THE SEAM NEXT TO THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS DOOR AT THE REAR OF THE WINDOW{JUST ABOVE THE DOOR HANDLE} RIGHT WHERE THE RUBBER MOLDING ENDS. I HAVE SEEN THIS CRACK ON ALMOST EVERY F-150 I HAVE INSPECTED MADE IN 1997. I HAVE SHOWN 5 OTHER PEOPLE THE CRACKS ON THEIR VEHICLES AND HAVE ALSO SHOWN THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIPS IN TOWN. BUT DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED A BULLETIN FROM FORD AUTHORIZING THEM TO REPLACE THE DOOR SOME OF THEM REFUSE TO DO SO. *AK
THE FRONT COVER GASKET FAILED , THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT PER RECALL 99B29. NLM *TT
FIRST TWO INCIDENTS INVOLVED TIRE BLOWOUTS AT 50-70 MPH. EACH BLOWOUT APPEARS TO START AS A TEAR ALONG THE OUTTER EDGE OF THE TREAD WHERE IT MEETS THE BELTS AND THEN TORE TO A POINT IN THE SIDEWALL. ESSENTIALLY TEARING A TRIANGULAR CHUNK OUT FO THE SIDE OF THE TIRE. IN READING ALL ABOUT CURRENT RECALL, IT SEEMS THESE TIRES ARE EXPERIENCING A SIMILAR PROBLEM. I DO PRESCRIBED REGULAR MAINTAINENCE (3K) AS DIRECTED BY FORD AND ALMOST ALL MY MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES. NOW I HAVE A THIRD TIRE EXHIBITING TIRE PEAL WHEN NOT 2K MILES AGO I HAD FIRESTONE REPRESENTATIVE TELL ME I HAD AT LEAST 10K MILES LEFT ON ALL MY TIRES. I FIND IT INCREDIBLY HARD TO BELIEVE SUCH A HIGHLY RATED PRODUCT AS FIRESTONE PRODUCES SHOULD FAIL 3 TIMES ON THE SAME VEHICLE IN THE SAME FASHION. IF YOU NEED TO SEE THE TIRE THAT'S PEELING I STILL HAVE IT. BUT INDEPENDENT TIRE DEALERS HAVE ALL SAID TREADWEAR WOULD INDICATE LONGER TIRE LIFE BUT THE TIRE IS DEFINETLY PEELING OF THE BELTS.( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P235-70R16 )
DEFECTIVE FRONT ROTORS, CAUSING VEHICLE TO VIBRATE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. CONSUMER REFUSED, WOULD LIKE REPLACEMENT INSTEAD. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AN WET/SLIPPERY PAVEMENT ABS BRAKES WOULD GET WET AND LOCK UP WHEN BRAKES APPLIED, HAPPENED ONLY ON WET PAVEMENT, NOT DRY; VEHICLE AT DEALER'S BEING REPAIRED. *AK
CONSUMER HAD AN ACCIDENT AND NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, TWO PASSENGERS WERE INJURED. *AK
WAS IN A HEAD-ON ACCIDENT AND AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. HAD NOT YET TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE ABS BRAKES THE FRONT WHEELS LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE LEFT AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PAVEMENT WAS A LITTLE WET. TAKEN TO DEALER AND COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. *AK
LOCATION OF EXHAUST SYSTEM IN FRONT OF PASSENGER'S SIDE CAUSES THE ABS BRAKES TO FREEZE UP IN WINTER. HAVE NOT TAKEN TO DEALER AS OF YET. *AK
THE AXLE TRANSFER SEAL IS LEAKING FOR THE THIRD TIME. ALSO, REPLACEMENT MISSING SEA TBELT ANCHORAGE ATTACHMENTS AS PER RECALL (96V-256). *AK
THE LUG BOLTS BROKE OFF WHILE DRIVING.
MASTER CYLINDER FAILED, CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE.
ASHTRAY COVER FAILED.
POWER DOOR LOCKS FAILED.
5-SPEED MANUAL SYNCHRONIZED TRANSMISSION IS SO POOR IN SHIFTING TIMING THAT IT CONTINUALLY MISSES SECOND AND THIRD GEARS. *AK
DRIVING ALONG STREET, ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT, VEHICLE GOING ABOUT 35 MPH, HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE BROADSIDE, NEITHER DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED.*AK
DRIVING ALONG APPROXIMATELY 60MPH AND STARTED TO TURN TO GET OFF AN EXIT. THE WHEELS JUST WENT AS FAR RIGHT AS THEY WOULD GO , THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO THE VEHICLE, LOST CONTROL AND HAD A CRASH. *AK
WRONG TYPE OF TIRES INSTALLED ON VEHICLE, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHIFT FROM SIDE TO SIDE.
FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG, CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT HOLD, CAUSING INJURIES TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. *AK
STEERING COLUMN LINKAGES FAILED.
COMPUTER CONTROLLER FAILED.
CIGARET LIGHTER COVER SPINS.
DURING IMPACT THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK

WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, GOING (55) MPH, VEHICLE REARENDED ANOTHER CAR AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAGS. *AK
WHEEL LUGS BREAK WHEN ANTI-THEFT LOCKING LUG NUT IS TORQUED TO 100 FOOT POUNDS SPECIFICATION. *AK
