The contact owned a 1999 Ford F-150. The contact stated that he had parked the vehicle and was standing outside of the vehicle, between the driver's side door and the vehicle; however, the vehicle reversed independently at 5-7 MPH onto the highway. The contact's back was slammed against the pole of a speed limit sign and he hit his face against the door. The contact stated that he was crushed between the driver's side door and the speed limit sign. The contact was released by emergency units and was transported to the hospital by air ambulance. The contact was diagnosed with a partly broken face, broken nose, broken eyes socket, broken teeth on the left side of the face, fractured skull, right and left clavicle fracture, 4-5 ribs fracture, which led to lung failure, hematoma in the abdomen, spinal damage. Additionally, the contact was on life support for four months. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The contact was unsure whether the vehicle was totaled. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 98V192000 (Vehicle Speed Control); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to send documentation pertaining to the failure along with medical bills and records. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.

THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V017000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 230,000.

BLOWED SPARK PLUG OUT OF CYL HEAD SITTING AT HIGHWAY INTERSECTION COULD HAVE CAUSE FIRE WITH FUEL PLUG AND COIL ON TOP OF ENGINE
TOP FRONT OF FUEL TANK RUSTED OUT AND FUEL LEAKS ESPECIALLY WHEN TANK IS FULL . OTHER AREAS ON TOP ARE ALSO VERY CLOSE TO RUSTING THRU . IRONICALLY THERE WAS A RECALL FEW YEARS AGO TO REPLACE THE 2 GAS TANK HOLDING STRAPS AND THE FORD DEALER SAID THE GAS TANK WAS FINE ?!? SO EITHER HE WAS BLIND OR DIDN'T HAVE A FLASH LIGHT OR HAVE AN INSPECTION MIRROR OR WAS TOO LAZY TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK BECAUSE IT ISN'T AN EASY JOB ? I FEEL THAT FORD HAS ENDANGERED MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE DUE TO THEIR BLATANT SHOW OF INCOMPETENCE AND IRRESPONSIBILITY ! SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT, 2 CYLINDERS ON RIGHT SIDE INVOLVED. VEHICLE WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND THIS OCCURRED WHILE WE WERE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. SPARK PLUGS BLEW OUT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START VEHICLE IN DRIVEWAY IN PARK. DAMAGE TO THE PLUGS, COIL PACKS AND SOME SMOKING INITIALLY.
SUSPENSION SQUEAKS AND GRINDS ALONG WITH STEERING WHEEL. SIDE UTILITY BACK DOORS CABLE BREAKS AND WILL NOT CLOSE OR WILL OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY.

A PASSERBY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SPARK PLUG HAD BEEN BLOWN OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD, IGNITING A FIRE. THE MECHANIC ALSO NOTED THAT THE SPARK PLUG BOOT HAD MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED. THE BOLTS ARE COMING THROUGH THE BED OF THE TRUCK. BUMPER IS RUSTED AWAY FROM FRAME. UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
MY 1999 F150 TRUCK HAS A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM AND HEATER CORE ISSUE. STARTED SMELLING ANTI FREEZE ON SUNDAY. TOOK TO A MECHANIC ON MONDAY AND SAID THERE IS AN OIL LEAK, SEEPAGE COMING FROM HEAD GASKET. THE HEATER CORE NEEDS REPLACED, BUT WHY OIL LEAK IS HAPPENING NOT SURE. WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ABOUT $3500.00 TO REPAIR ONLY HEAD GASKET AND HEATER CORE. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 127,00 MILES ON IT AND ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE TIMELY. RESEARCHED THIS ON INTERNET AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS EVEN AN ARTICLE IN AUTOMOTIVE NEWS ON 4/1/2002 REGARDING THIS ISSUE, AND ACCORDING TO WRITTEN ARTICLE FORD WAS FIXING THE PROBLEM FOR CONSUMERS. I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME NO. THIS IS A HUGE EXPENSE, AND WITH THIS MANY COMPLAINTS AND ARTICLE THAT SAYS FORD IS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT AND NO ONE CAN HELP. PRETTY MUCH EITHER FIX THE HEAD GASKETS AND HOPE IT WORKS, OR WAS TOLD NEW ENGINE NEEDED. IF THIS IS AN ISSUE, AND CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STOP WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I HAVE ANY RECOURSE IN GETTING FORD TO FIX THE PROBLEM. CANNOT BE DRIVEN NOW BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE EXTREME OVERHEATING AND THEN ENGINE FAILURE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THE OVERDIVE KNOB ON GEAR SHIFTER BROKE OFF WHILE DOWN-SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO 2ND GEAR. WHEN RESEARCHING THE INTERNET.... THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM!!!
AROUND 1:30AM ON THURSDAY NOV. 24TH, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MY NEIGHBOR SAYING MY TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THAT IT LOOKED LIKE IT STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. THE TRUCK HAD BEEN DRIVEN TO THE STORE THE MORNING BEFORE THE FIRE, AND WAS PARKED AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS PULLING INTO HIS PLACE OF RESIDENCE AT 5 MPH, THE FUEL TANK STRAPS FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE FUEL TANK TO DROP FORCEFULLY. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE THAT THE FUEL STRAPS WERE LOOSE OR HAD ANY ABILITY TO BECOME FRACTURED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I WAS CRUISING ALONG THE HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 68 MPH, THEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER SOUNDED LIKE I WAS DRIVING WITHOUT AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD ALMOST. ONCE I FELT THAT I HAD LOST A LOT OF POWER I THEN REALIZED WHAT HAPPENED. I WAS LUCKILY 2 MILES AWAY FROM A TOWN AND BABIED IT INTO A STORE PARKING LOT. UPON LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD I FOUND THE SPARKPLUG EJECTED FROM CYLINDER #3 AND BUSTED THE IGNITION COIL. NOW WHAT IF I WAS INT THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITH MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER? WORSE YET WHAT IF THE VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE WITH THEM AS WELL? DUE TO FUEL VAPOR SPITTING OUT THE SPARKPLUG BORE AND GETTING IGNITED FROM THE LOOSE IGNITION COIL. I MYSELF AND OTHERS HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE THAT THESE THINGS DID NOT HAPPEN, BUT I CAN'T SAY FOR EVERYONE. THIS IS A VERY BIG ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN IGNORED AND IS A POTENTIALLY HUGE SAFETY HAZARD AS WELL.

FORD F150 BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE 7TH CYLINDER WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. OUR LOCAL MECHANIC SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORDS MOSTLY AFTER 100K MILES. THE HEAD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THREADS ARE TO DAMAGED AND THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD HAS TO BE REPLACED. TOTAL COST OF 1800.00

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PLUG WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLUGS WERE CHANGED TWICE MORE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
NUMBER 3 SPARKPLUG AND COIL FLEW OUT OF THE ENGINE
ENGINE BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD DESTROYED THE COIL AND THREADS ON HEAD.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK VALVE AND THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY REAR DOORS ON MY FORD, F-150 CREW CAB PICKUP STOPPED OPENING. THIS IS AN ENTRAPMENT ISSUE AND A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT, PASSENGERS IN THE REAR WOULD BE TRAPPED AND UNABLE TO ESCAPE. FROM THE RESEARCH I FOUND ON THE INTERNET, THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE CABLE MECHANISM THAT OPERATES THE REAR DOOR LATCHES AND COMMON FAULT WITH THESE TYPE OF DOOR FOR THE FORD PICKUPS MANUFACTURED AROUND THIS TIME FRAME. AND IT LOOKS LIKE FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS FOR FORD TO REPAIR DUE TO THE ENTRAPMENT ISSUE.
THIS WHOLE EPISODE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN MY 1999 FORD F-150. I DID START TO NOTICE THAT WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN TO MATCH TRAFFIC SPEEDS, THE TRUCK WOULD VEER TO THE LEFT.THE BRAKES DID TAKE IN A FUNNY WAY AND THANK GOD THERE WAS NO COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. AFTER 30 MILES, I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY TO TURN AROUND AND WHEN I CAME TO A STOP SIGN, I COULD NOT STOP AT ALL. THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK EVEN AFTER I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I ALSO SMELLED BURNING RUBBER COMING FROM NEAR THE ENGINE.THE PARKING BRAKE DID WORK AND I LIMPED INTO THE NEAREST GAS STATION. I CALLED AAA TO GET IT TOWED TO THE FIRESTONE TIRE SHOP NEAR MY HOUSE THAT HAS DONE ALL MY TIRE AND AUTO REPAIR NEEDS FOR OVER 15 YEARS. WHEN THEY TEST DROVE IT AFTER THE 2 HOUR TOW, THE BRAKES STARTED WORKING AGAIN. ROBERT/FIRESTONE TOOK THE WHEELS OFF AND AFTER EXAMINING THE ROTORS/PADS ADVISED THAT THE FRONT RIGHT PADS HAD LOCKED AND WERE PRESSING UNEVENLY ON THE ROTOR. HE ALSO PLANNED TO REPLACE THE BRAKE FLUID HOSE THAT HE THOUGHT WAS WORN OUT AND POSSIBLY LEAKING. I ALSO WENT OVER TO THE FORD DEALER AND CHECKED WITH THEM TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY RECALLS OR ADVICE. NO RECALLS OR SERVICE NOTICE WAS UNCOVERED. ALL I WAS TOLD WAS TO CHECK THE MASTER CYLINDER AS IT COULD BE LEAKING INTERNALLY. THAT IS ALL I GOT FROM FORD. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT I DID NOT HAVE A COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE ON THE FREEWAY POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT/INJURY. WE DETERMINED THAT WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ABS MODULE.FORD DOES NOT MAKE IT ANY MORE AND WE HAD TO SEARCH THE SALVAGE YARDS TO GET THIS PART AS IT IS NIT MADE NAYMORE BY THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE.VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.WILL NEVER BUY A FORD TRUCK AGAIN. .
VIN DOES NOT MATCH MY TRUCK, TRYING TO FIX IT BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ENGINE PARTS, ELECTRICAL,OR OTHERWISE TO PURCHASE. SUPPOSED TO BE A 1999 FORD F-150 XLT 4X4 . VIN COMES UP ASINVALID AND CHECK DIGIT IS INCORRECT. ONLINE SEARCH INDICATES 4 DIFFERENT ENGINES, TWO TRANSMISSIONS (5SPD MANUAL AND AUTO) NEITHER OF WHICH ARE THE FORD MOTOR CO. EXPERIMENTAL TRANSMISSION THAT FORD PUT IN THAT TRUCK. SOLD AS A 1999 ON FORD C.O. MINE WEIGHS 1500LBS LESS THAN WHAT IT SHOULD. ALL FAILING EXPERIMENTAL PARTS THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE, BUT DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO BUY DUE TO "EXPERIMENTAL" PART #'S. EMAILED FORD MANY TIMES FOR ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING ENGINE AS THERE ARE NO BLOCK CASTINGS. NO RETUN CALL OR EMAIL. IM A SINGLE MOM OF 2. I DONT GET CHILD SUPPORT, ALIMONY, NOR DO I RECEIVE GOVERMENT ASSISTANCE. I CANT AFFORD TO HAVE MY TRUCK TORN DOWN.TO MEASURE BORE AND STROKE. I CANT AFFORD TO BRING IT TO A SHOP. MY VEHICLE FAILED PA STATE INSPECTION DUE TO ROTTED OUT CORNERS OF THE FENDERS & RADIATOR SUPPORT ASSY. AND IS DEEMED UN-DRIVABLE AND UN-USABLE EVEN THOUGH THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION . THIS ASSY GOES ACROSS THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, HOLDS THE RADIATOR & AID COND CORES IN THE MIDDLE, AND ATTACHES TO BOTH FRONT BENDERS VIA SPOT WELDS AND IT'S LOWER CORNERS ATTACH TO THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK VIA SHOCK MOUNTS AND 2 LARGE BOLTS THUS ALSO SUPPORTING THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE TRUCK ATTACHING IT TO THE FRAME . WITH BOTH LOWER CORNERS OF THIS ASSY ROTTED AWAY THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK IS NOW FLOATING & SUSPENDED AND IS NOW NOT ATTACHED TO THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK THUS THIS IS A MAJOR HAZARD AND ESPECIALLY ON IMPACT IF IN A FRONTAL ACCIDENT . THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ONLINE ON F150'S ALL THE WAY UP TO 2006 . THE "CAUSE" OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PLASTIC FENDER WELLS DO NOT COME DOWN FAR ENOUGH IN THE FRONT SO WATER, SNOW, SLUSH, AND SALT ARE FLUNG FORWARD BY THE FRONT TIRES AND HIT THE BACK SIDE OF THE FRONT BUMPER AND THEN ARE DIRECTED BACK INTO THE FENDERS & RADIATOR SUPPORT ASSY WHICH IS AN OPEN-TOP BOX CHANNEL ON THE BOTTOM WITH NO DRAIN HOLES . SINCE THE WATER, SNOW, SLUSH, AND SALT LAY IN THIS OPEN-TOP BOX CHANNEL IT JUST ROTS THE CORNERS OUT . THIS IS PURELY A DESIGN PROBLEM 2 WAYS; 1. FENDER WELLS TOO SHORT IN THE FRONT 2. NO DRAIN HOLES IN THE OPEN-TOP BOX CHANNEL 3. THE ENTIRE ASSY OF POOR STEEL QUALITY AND NOT PRESERVED WITH RUST PROOFING SO NOW I HAVE A LOW MILEAGE 1999 F150 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION THAT'S UN-USABLE !!! LOCAL DEALER SAID THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF A RECALL SO I'M HOPING THIS INFORMATION WILL GENERATE ONE BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY OTHER VEHICLES OUT THERE WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM UP THRU AT LEAST 2006 . WENT TO STOP AT LIGHT HAD NO BRAKES WITH NO WARNING. I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IN THE REAR THIS ALSO CAUSED A DELAYED RELEASE OF THE AIR BAGS. THIS APPEARS TO BE PROBLEM GOING BACK YEARS THAT FORD OR THE GOVERNMENT WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT.
FORD RECALL 11S21 GAS TANK STRAP RECALL PERFORMED AT LUCAS FORD IN BURLINTON NJ. THEY SAID THE STRAP PULLED THROUGH ROTTED FRAME AND FORD SAID BECAUSE THE RECALL ONLY SAYS THEY HAVE TO REPLACE RUSTED STRAPS THEY WILL NOT REPAIR. THEY TOLD THEM TO PUT NEW STRAPS ON LEAVING REAR ONE NOT CONNECTED. IF THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL THIS IS A FAIL AS MY TRUCK COULD STILL HAVE THE TANK DROP AND BURST INTO FLAMES. THIS IS THE SAME AS TOYOTA RECALL FOR POORLY TREATED FRAMES JUST FORD WAS ALLOWED TO ONLY REPLACE 20 DOLLARS STRAPS THAT PROBABLY AREN'T EVEN THE PROBLEM. *TR
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE ENGINE HAS BLOWN OUT A PLUG. I DO NOT KNOW THE DATES OF THE OTHER TWO TIMES, MY MECHANIC CAN PROBABLY LOOK THEM UP. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A HUGE PROBLEM THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE. I HAVE PAID ABOUT $1200 TO HAVE THE THREE BLOWN SPARK PLUGS FIXED. SINCE THIS IS AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH FORD ENGINES I FEEL THEY SHOULD REIMBURSE ALL COSTUMERS, THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE SUFFERED TREAD SEPARATION AFTER APX 1 HOUR AROUND 70 MPH. TIRE PRESSURE WAS CHECKED / INFLATED TO MAX COLD PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. AIR TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE LOW 80S. WHEN BACKING UP AFTER MY F150 HAS BEEN SITTING ABOUT 2 DAYS I HAVE NO BRAKES UNLESS I REV UP THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 20 SEC TO BUILD UP PRESSURE IN THE ELECTRIC VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER. HAVE ALMOST HIT MY WIFE'S CAR IF I FORGET TO LET IT SIT TO BUILD UP PRESSURE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY FORD DEALER AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE I AM PAST THE WARRANTY. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE IT MYSELF BECAUSE THIS IS UNSAFE CONDITION AND FORD WON'T REPAIR IT. ALSO MY TRUCK LOSES POWER SOMETIMES WHEN ACCELERATING AND FORD STATED THAT THE TURBO CHARGERS ARE SOMETIMES SUCKING IN WATER THAT SHUTS DOWN ONE SIDE OF THE ENGINE TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE TURBO CHARGERS. THERE FIX IS TO PUT A SHIELD OR LONGER TUBE ON IT TO PREVENT THIS. AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MY F-150 3.5 ECOBOOST AND WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE.

IF A CAR HAD BEEN BEHIND US THAT TIRE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE, I BELIEVE YOU NEED THE DEALERS TO PLACE ANOTHER SAFETY BAR TO KEEP THE TIRE FROM COMING LOOSE AGAIN. APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AGO (10/2014) I NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 1999 FORD F-150 WERE NOT WORKING. A FEW TIMES ONCE I RETURNED TO HOME I NOTICED THAT WHEN I SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO PARK, THE HEADLIGHTS CAME ON. IT DID NOT APPEAR TO MATTER IF THE HIGH BEAM OR LOW BEAM LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED. I STARTED TO INSPECT THE HEADLIGHT OPERATION AND NOTICED THAT WHEN I TILTED THE STEERING WHEEL TO IT'S LOWEST POSITION, TYPICALLY IT'S OPERATING POSITION, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF. WHEN I TILTED THE WHEEL UP SLIGHTLY TO THE NEXT POSITION, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD COME ON. TODAY, 10/19/2014 I REMOVED THE TRIM AROUND THE STEERING COLUMN AND NOTICED THAT THERE ARE TWO WIRES THAT HAVE BROKEN AND SEPARATED FROM THE WIRING HARNESSES THAT ATTACH TO THE TURN SIGNAL ASSEMBLY AND SEVERAL CONTACTS THAT ARE LOOSE IN THE UPPER HARNESS. I HAVE TAKEN PHOTOS AND A VIDEO SHOWING THE PARTS THAT ARE LOOSE AND OR BROKEN. BECAUSE THESE BROKEN WIRES AND CONTACTS ARE LOOSE AND AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE HEADLIGHTS, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE RISK OF A SHORT OR SPARKS THAT THEY COULD CREATE AND WITHOUT FULLY OPERATIONAL HEADLIGHTS, THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE TRUCK AND PURCHASED IT AT AROUND 11,000 MILES. THE STEERING COLUMN HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN APART NOR HAS THE TRIM AROUND THE STEERING COLUMN BEEN REMOVED. THESE WIRES COULD BE SEEN MOVING AS THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TILTED UP AND DOWN PRIOR TO THE SIGNAL ASSEMBLY BEING REMOVED AS THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON AND OFF WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH LEFT IN THE ON POSITION. *TR

TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED,THE SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN FROM THE HEAD . THE ENGINE SPEWED FUEL OUT OF THE HOLE AND I THOUGHT A FIRE MIGHT OCCUR AT ANY SECOND. MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE AND MANY MORE WILL. THIS OCCURS BECAUSE THE HEAD IS ALUMINUM AND THE SPARK PLUGS ARE STEEL AND ONLY THREAD IN TO 3 OR 4 THREADS. UPON RETURNING HOME FROM WORK ON 9/15/14, A HITCH WIRE WAS NOTICED DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. WHEN I CRAWLED UNDER THE TRUCK TO TUCK IT BACK UNDER, I NOTICED THE SPARE TIRE WAS GONE AND THE CABLE THAT ONCE HELD IT IN PLACE VIA A RETAINING BRACKET HAD SNAPPED AND WAS FRAYED. THE TIRE AND BRACKET HOLDING THE TIRE WERE BOTH GONE. I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE LOSS UNTIL THAT POINT AND AM HORRIFIED AT THE THOUGHT OF THE ACCIDENT OR INJURY IT COULD HAVE/ MAY HAVE CAUSED, BREAKING FREE SOMEWHERE ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. *TR
