THE WHOLE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND SHUDDERS AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH NOW WARNING. IT NOW FEELS AS IF THE REAR AXLE IN MOVING, GIVE AN ODD SENSATION WHEN APPLYING THE GAS PEDAL OR TAKING YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. I AM A TECHNICIAN BY TRADE, SO I PUT THE TRUCK UP ON THE LIFT AT MY SHOP AND HAVE NOTICED THE PINION IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS SIGNIFICANT UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT. AFTER RESEARCHING A BIT, IT SEEMS THE PINION AND RING GEAR GALL THEMSELVES, I'M NOT SURE IF THE PINION BEARING FAILED CAUSING THIS. OR IF THE RING AND PINION FAILED CAUSING THE BEARING TO FAIL. AT ANY RATE THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH MY EXPERIENCE, A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE MAY PROVIDE A SCOPE OF THE ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS IN A ACCIDENT LAST WEEK. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IT WAS A FRONT END ACCIDENT WHICH RESULTED IN THE WINDSHIELD AND NEARLY ALL GALSS BEING BROKEN AS WELL AS THE OTHER VEHICLES AIRBAGS DEPLOYING. NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE DEPLOYED. I WAS DOING APPROXIAMATELY 43 MPH AND THE OTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING ME TO T-BONE THE OTHER VEHICLE. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF EXTREME CORROSION TO THE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD FRACTURE AND SEPARATE AT THE CENTER BETWEEN THE BED AND THE CABIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
DRIVING ALONG AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE REVED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS NO ENGAGED. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND STARTED AGAIN WITH NO PROBLEM. SINCE THEN, MY TRANSMISSION HAS QUIT WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES. I DID DISCOVER IF I TURNED THE OD ODD IT WOULD WORK BUT HAS NO OVERDRIVE. FORTINATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD WITH A RECALL AND REPAIR.
WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE TO BEGIN BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED A LITTLE GAS TO SLOWLY BACKUP AROUND THE TURN IN THE DRIVE. AS I WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS, I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE I WAS NAVIGATING PAST OTHER PARKED VEHICLES. AS I WAS CLEARING ONE OF THE VEHICLES, THE TRUCK SUDDENLY JOLTED BACKWARDS HITTING A TREE. SO THEN, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE SO THAT I COULD PULL FORWARD AWAY FROM THE TREE. AS I BEGAN TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE TRUCK INSTANTLY THRUST FORWARD, HITTING ANOTHER TREE, STOPPING THE TRUCK & KNOCKING THE TREE OVER. IT HAPPENED WITH SUCH POWER THAT THE WHEELS SPUN DOWN INTO THE MULCH BED BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE, PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND REMOVE THE KEYS TO TURN IT OFF. WHILE THE DAMAGE ON THE BACK BUMPER WAS MINIMAL, THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WAS EXTENSIVE & THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED THE TRUCK A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WAS ONE OTHER TIME, WHILE ON THE LOCAL HIGHWAY AT A STOPLIGHT, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THAT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO THRUST FORWARD ON ITS' OWN. AFTER IT FIRST ROCKED FORWARD, I PRESSED THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHICH PREVENTED IT FROM ACTUALLY MOVING FORWARD ANY MORE. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE TRUCK SEEMED TO RETURN TO NORMAL FUNCTIONING. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND THE TIME I WAS DUE FOR A TUNE-UP SO I FIGURED IT WAS A FLUKE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED WITH THE TUNE UP.
THE STEERING SHAFT HAD TP BE REPLACED. IT WAS LIKE I DID NOT HAVE ANY POWER STEERING.
WHILE DRIVING HOME I MADE A RIGHT TURN ON TO MY STREET AND THEN THE WHEEL SPUN ALL TGE WAY TO THE LEFT. I HAD NO CONTROL OF STEERING AND THE TRUCK HIT A GUARD RAIL. STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T TURN THE TIRES AT ALL NOW. THE STEERING WAS STIFF BEFORE ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THAT THE RACK AND PINION SNAPPED. TRUCK IS A TOTAL LOSE. NO RECALLS FROM FORD FOR MY VIN.
2 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS, MOST RECENTLY ON 2/27/17 MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AS IF THE GAS PEDDLE WAS BEING HELD TO THE FLOOR. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT THIS TIME AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, SO I WAS ABLE TO PREVENT MY VEHICLE FROM LURCHING INTO THE INTERSECTION. I PLACED THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT OFF THE IGNITION. WHEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED (ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO) I WAS SLOWLY ENTERING A PARKING LOT WHEN THE TRUCK SUDDENLY ACCELERATED.
THE FRAME IS SHOWING SERIOUS SIGNS OF RUST AND ROT. THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE INSPECTED WITH ONLY 84,000 MILE ON IT. DISGRACEFUL.
80, 000 MILES ON THE TRUCK, AND IT NOW NEEDS ITS REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED FOR THE 6TH TIME. ON TOP OF THAT , NOW THE CAM PHASERS ARE GOING BAD. CAN'T DRIVE IT NOW AGAIN AS IT MAY LEAVE ME STRANDED IN AN INTERSECTION AGAIN. I DRIVE 7 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK, AND OCCASIONALLY USE THE TRUCK FOR VACATIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED OUT NEAR THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LANGLEY FORD DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL REGARDING THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. TAKATA RECALL WHEN I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE GETTING READY TO TAKE OFF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED RIGHT IN MY FACE I HURRIED AN CHECKED MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT HIT THEY JUST EXPLODED IN MY FACE. I GOT OUT THE CAR AN IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY BECAUSE I THOUGHT MY CAR HAS BEEN HIT AND IT WAS A DELAY IN THE AIRBAGS I WAS ASSURED THAT NO ONE HAD HOT ME AND IT WAS A FACTORY MALFUNCTION RECALL AND FORD WOULD HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT. THROUGH A LONG PROCESS FORD IS DENYING ANY HELP WITH MY VEHICLE IVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE FOR MY VEHICLE IVE ONLY HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR HAD I BEE AWARE I WOULD HAVE TAKING IT IN WRIGHT AWAY NOW IVE BEEN OUT OF A CAR AND NO HELP FROM FORD.
FRAME RUSTED OUT WITH HOLES YOU CAN SEE THROUGH. TRUCK NOW FLEXES AND WILL PROBABLY BREAK THE FRAME WHILE DRIVING DOES NOT SEEM SAFE TO DRIVE.
MY TRUCK HAS 106,XXX MILES ON IT. I HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR 9 MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP FOR A REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THE FRAME WAS SO ROTTEN OUT THEY COULDN'T PUT IT ON THE LIFT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE SEAT BELT DID NOT PREVENT THE PASSENGERS FROM GOING FORWARD. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. MY TRUCK GETS UP TO ABOUT 50 MPH THEN ACTS LIKE IT GOES INTO NEUTRAL , NO POWER TO THE BACK WHEELS. I'VE NOTICED THAT MORE THAN A FEW 2004 F-150 OWNERS HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. HAS ANY INVESTIGATION BEEN DONE AND IF SO WHAT WERE THE FINDINGS. I LIVE ON DISABILITY SOCIAL SECURITY AND CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION REPAIRED.I WAS ON A PAVED ROAD AT THE TIME. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2004 F150 WITH 10,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE IN DECEMBER OF 2004. I NOW HAVE 130,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE AND IM TOLD THE ENGINE IS JUNK. I CHANGED THE OIL RELIGIOUSLY EVERY 3000 MILES AND I EVEN HAD THE SPARK PLUGS TAKEN OUT AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY CLEANED INTERNALLY. I LOVE THIS TRUCK AND AM FINDING IT HARD TO BELEIVE THAT AT 130,000 MILES ITS JUNK. THE CAMS ARE NOT GETTING OIL AND ITS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RATTLE AND MAKE LOUD NOISES, WHEN I DRIVE THE TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 OR 70 MILES AN HOUR IT RUNS GREAT BUT AS SOON AS I SLOW DOWN ON THE RAMP, THE NOISE AND RATTLE START. THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON. THE MECHANIC SAYS I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE WARNING WAS CAM RETARDED. THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE INTERIOR LOOKS ALMOST NEW. I KEPT MY TRUCK CLEAN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. I EVEN KEPT MY FLOORS SCRUBED AND CLEAN. I JUST HAD TO SELL MY HOUSE BECAUSE OF MY HEALTH AND NOW MY ONLY VEHICLE WENT TO HELL. IS ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION TO THESE COMPLAINTS AND TRYING TO FIX THEM. I'M TOLD THIS ENGINE IS NOTED FOR THIS PROBLEM. REALLY!!! 130,000 MILES ON A PICKUP TRUCK IS NOTHING. WHY ARE THESE ENGINES THAT WERE PUT IN THESE TRUCKS BREAKING DOWN AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT? AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE WITH BUYING A NEW VEHICLE, I KNOW I'LL NEVER PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE AGAIN. ESPECIALLY NOT A FORD. I BELIEVE THAT THE FORD COMPANY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT ISN'T CONCERNED WITH THE CONSUMERS PROBLEM, BECAUSE NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO HELP THE CONSUMER FIX THE PROBLEM. I THE CONSUMER AM SHOCKED THAT I HAVE TO JUNK MY VEHICLE WITH THE LOW MILEAGE. I'M TOLD $8000.00 FOR A NEW ENGINE. WOW!!! NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO EVEN CONSIDER. PLEASE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM AND HELP THE CONSUMER WITH A RESOLUTION. I DON'T WANT TO JUNK MY TRUCK!

112000 MILES 90% DRIVEN IN SUMMER MONTHS. GARAGED EXTENSIVE RUST AND FRAME DAMAGE FROM CORROSION .BODY AND INTERIOR FLAWLESS ALL SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS BY FORD FOLLOWED
MY TRUCK HAS ALWAYS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF HAS 92, 000 MILES ON IT WHICH IS VERY LOW ON A 2004. IT WAS ALWAYS SERVICED AT THE DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK. I HAD 2 EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTIES THROUGH THIS DEALER. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE BODY AT ALL. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER GARAGE TO HAVE SOME WORK DONE ON IT AND WHEN THEY PUT IT ON THE LIFT THE BOX ON THE TRUCK STARTED TO PULL AWAY FROM THE CAB. WHEN IT WAS LOWERED, AND INSPECTED THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED THRU. I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT WAS THIS BAD. THE FRAME MUST BE COMPLETELY RECONSTRUCTED AND OF COURSE FORD AND THE DEALER DON'T WANT TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED NOT KNOWING THE SEVERITY OF THE FRAME. I DEPENDED ON FORD TO CONSTRUCT A SAFE VEHICLE AND FOR THE DEALER TO SERVICE MY TRUCK IN GOOD FAITH. PEOPLE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY FORD TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED AND FOR THEIR LACK OF A QUALITY PRODUCT AND SERVICE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT LOCKED UP SEVERAL TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE OEM PART FOR THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS BLACK AND NOW IT WAS PLASTIC WITH A COATED METAL. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE CHANGE OF THE OEM PART WAS STRUCTURALLY SOUND BECAUSE THE SHIFT CABLE HAD TO BE REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 211,240.
FRAME RUSTED IN HALF,
VEHICLE FRAME RUSTED OUT ON BOTH SIDES. COULD NOT PASS PA. INSPECTION.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN MY LEFT REAR WINDOW WENT CRASHING DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. AFTER DOING A LOT OF SEARCHING ON THE NET I FOUND THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT ON A NUMBER OF THE FORD F-150 TRUCKS, A CHEAP PLASTIC PART FAILS AND THE WINDOW FALLS DOWN. NO WARNING THE WINDOW JUST FALLS DOWN IN THE DOOR
THE FRAME UNDER MY F150 IS RUSTED THROUGH. I ONLY HAVE 81K MILES ON IT AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE FRAME IS RUSTING SO BADLY. IT HAS ALREADY COST ME 2,400 TO HAVE A CERTIFIED WELDER REPLACE SOME OF THE SECTIONS THAT WERE RUSTED OUT. I KNOW JUST FOUND ANOTHER PART OF THE FRAME THAT IS RUSTED UNDER THE LEAF SPRING. THAT IS NOW GOING TO COST ME ANOTHER $500.00.
UNKNOWN. MAJOR POPPING IN REAR END WHILE TURNING. WHEN TRUCK IS IN PARK I CAN ROLL IT BACK AND FORTH A GOOD 10 INCHES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.
MY FORD F 150 HAS THROWN A ROD & THE MOTOR IS KNOCKING BADLY, TO MY UNDERSTANDING ALL 2004 FORD F150 3V HAVE A BAD MOTOR IN ALL TRUCKS, EVERY TRUCK I KNOW HAVE THIS PROBLEM. YOU EXCHANGE THIS MOTOR TO A LATER OR EARLY MOTOR IT WON'T WORK I BEING TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP MECH. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE HELD TO RECALL & REPLACE THESE MOTORS. *JS
I WAS PULLING A TRAILER OVER THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE WITH MY FAMILY AND STOPPED TO GET GAS IN LEADVILLE, COLORADO. AS I WAS PUMPING GAS I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER MY TRUCK BED. I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND SAW FLAMES NEAR MY SPARE TIRE. I STOPPED PUMPING GAS AND RAN TO GET A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. AFTER THE FIRE WAS OUT I OBSERVED THAT MY TAIL-PIPE HAD BROKEN AWAY FROM MY MUFFLER. THE HEAT FROM MY EXHAUST HAD MELTED THE RUBBER COATING ON MY REAR RIGHT BRAKE CABLE. THE HEAT HAD ALSO MELTED SOME PLASTIC NEAR MY SPARE TIRE. THE MECHANIC IN LEADVILLE WHO WELDED MY TAIL PIPE BACK TO THE MUFFLER TOLD ME THE MELTED PLASTIC CAME FROM AN EVAPORATIVE FUEL EMISSIONS SYSTEM MOUNTED NEAR MY SPARE TIRE. (BAD PLACE TO PUT IT IF YOU ASK ME) MY TRUCK BED-LINER ALSO STARTED TO MELT FROM THE HEAT. I CALLED FORD TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE SAFETY PROBLEM AND THEY ONLY RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER AND HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I DOUBT I WILL EVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. I'M NOT GOING TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED. I GUESS I'M JUST LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND THAT THE WHOLE GAS STATION DIDN'T BLOW UP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE VACUUM HOSE SEPARATED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE CLAMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V208000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 226,000. ....UPDATED 07/05/16 *BF *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR AND PLENUM KIT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. UPDATED 03/21/17*LJ *CN
LOUD RATTLING/VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE TRUCK, CAUSING TIRES AT TIMES TO BOUNCE AND SLIP. OPENED DIFFERENTIAL AND CARRIER HAS MALFUNCTION.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 40 MPH AND THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL TO THE BOTTOM INSIDE THE DOOR.I HADN'T TOUCHED A THING. THE 2004 FORD F150 HAS ONLY 23,000 MILES ON IT.I BOUGHT IT NEW. I HAVE READ THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS. IS THERE A RECALL OR REPLACEMENT?
TRING TO PASS SMOG BUT TRUCK HAS MISFIRE WITCH CAUSED MOTOR TO SHAKE SPEWING GAS AT 76 IN OAKLAND CA THANK GOD MY ROOMATE SPOTTED IT AS WE'RE LEAVING PUMP OR WE COULD HAVE BLOWN UP OR WORSE AFTER A STRUGGLE WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK OUT OF GEAR AND PUSH IT OUT OF THE PUMP AREA .
THE #3 SPARK PLUG HAS BLOWN FREE OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. THIS IS THE 2ND PLUG THAT HAS BLOWN FREE IN 1 1/2 YEARS FOR THIS TRUCK. THE LAST WAS EITHER THE #7 OR #8 PLUG. BOTH HAPPENED ON DECELERATION WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND NOW I AM HAVING THE SPARK PLUGS REPLACED. 3 OUT OF THE 8 BROKE IN THE ENGINE. THIS DEFECT HAS AFFECTED NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS. THE REPAIR COSTS ARE EXTREMELY HIGH FOR A NORMAL SIMPLE REPAIR. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DESIGN DEFECT AND A RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE FUSES TO THE THROTTLE AND CRUISE CONTROL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED EVEN WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL DEACTIVATED. THE CONTACT RECURRED SEVEN OTHER TIMES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

WITHOUT SEATED PASSENGER, LIGHT IS OUT DENOTING AIRBAG IS ON. IT APPEARS IT IS WORKING THE OPPOSITE OF DESIGN. THIS HAPPENS WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. UNIT HAS ALWAYS OPERATED THIS WAY. FORD/DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INSIDE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SHIFT LEVER BECAME DISCONNECTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. DRIVING 70MPH, HIGHWAY 41N-WISCONSIN, JUST NORTH OF OSHKOSH, LEGAL SPEED LIMIT, 35 DEGREE WEATHER, NEARING END OF A 90 MILE TRIP WITH WIFE AND GRANDDAUGHTER, EARLY EVENING, WHEN I HEARD A NOISE/THUD, THEN HAD DASH ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS AND ALARMS GO OFF AS WELL AS SEVERE VIBRATING AND NOISES UNDER THE HOOD WITH LOSS OF POWER. MANAGED TO GET MY 4X4 TRUCK OUT OF CENTER LANE AND INTO EMERGENCY LANE WITHOUT BEING HIT. TRIED RESTARTING ENGINE A COUPLE OF TIMES, WHICH IT DID, BUT I SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY BOTH TIMES BECAUSE OF SEVERE VIBRATION AND NOISE. AFTER ARRANGING FOR EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE AND A POLICE OFFICER TO PROTECT MY BACKSIDE FROM TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM THE REAR, THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP OF 12 YEARS. I HAD PURCHASED MY TRUCK THERE NEW AND DID ALL MY MAINTENANCE THERE, EXCEPT MAYBE A COUPLE OF OIL CHANGES WHEN I HAVE BEEN OUT OF STATE. THERE THE TRUCK WAS DIAGNOSED TO HAVE CAM PHASER FAILURE AND NEEDED A 5,000+ ENGINE REPLACEMENT @ 130,000 MILES. UNBELIEVABLE. I'VE HAD THE CRACKED WINDSHIELD, THE REAR SEAL ISSUES, THE VARIOUS ELECTRONIC FAILURES AND YES, THE FORD SPARK PLUG ISSUE WITH BROKEN PLUGS DURING A MAINTENANCE CHANGE. I STILL LOVED MY TRUCK UNTIL IT NEARLY CAUSED MY FAMILY AND I SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, OR POSSIBLY SOME OTHER UNDESERVING SOUL. I'M NOT REPLACING THE ENGINE AND AM TRYING TO EXTRACT WHATEVER REMAINING VALUE EXISTS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN INDIFFERENT TO THE SITUATION AND HAS DONE LITTLE. SO YES, I'M LIVID ABOUT THE MONEY AND THE LOSS OF IT, BUT AM ALSO LIVID AND CONCERNED AS TO WHO HAS TO BE HURT OR WORSE YET KILLED BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE.
