DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE COMPANY VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE REAR ENDED A PARKED CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE COMPANY PROPERTY. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SEEN BY A MECHANIC, BUT WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY.

2004-2006 F-150/MARK LT 4X4- WATER INGESTION INTO THE IWE (INTEGRATED WHEEL SYSTEM) CAUSING LOAD SCRATCHING NOISE WHEN DRIVING. FORD SAYS THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION FOR IT. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
APPROX TWO YEARS AGO I REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY 2004 F-150 SUPER CREW. UPON REMOVING THE RIGHT SIDE CALIPER I DISCOVERED THAT ONE OF THE TWO PISTONS WAS CRACKED. I ALSO FOUND IT TO BE LEAKING FLUID. I THEN REMOVED THE LEFT SIDE TO FIND THE EXACT SAME CYLINDER IN THAT SIDE CRACKED HOWEVER NOT YET LEAKING. UPON TAKING MY TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. MY AFTER MARKET WARRANTY COMPANY ADVISED THEY DID NOT COVER THIS EITHER AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY ME. I AM ONLY BRINGING THIS TO SOMEONE'S ATTENTION NOW BECAUSE I SIMPLY WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS SITE. ALSO THREE WEEKS AGO I CHANGED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND OBSERVED THE CYLINDERS APPEARED TO BE BRITTLE AND WOULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE NEXT BRAKE CHANGE. NOW MY BRAKES ARE MYSTERIOUSLY LOOSING PRESSURE. *TR
MY 2004 FORD 150 WITH 4 WHEEL DRIVE , WILL NOT ALWAYS SHIFT FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, WITHOUT A GREAT GRINDING OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT WITHOUT BRINGING THE TRUCK TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEN RESTARTING. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN TO THE DEALER TWICE NOW BUT SINCE IT WILL NOT FAIL ON COMMAND THE DEALER SAYS THEY CAN DO NOTHING TILL IT TOTALLY FAILS. *JB
2004 FORD F-150 FX4 STALLS WHILE DRIVING; IT IS AS IF THE GAS PEDAL NO LONGER WORKS. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR FOUR DAYS AND STATE THAT THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY STATE THAT THE COMPUTER SHOWS THAT IT WAS RUN ON "LEAN FUEL", HOWEVER IT HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS. RUNS OKAY DURING TEST DRIVING BY DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, STALLING PRESENTS A SAFETY CONCERN. 8JB
LOSS OF BRAKING. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. COULD PUMP UP BRAKES FOR PARTIAL BRAKING, BUT BRAKES WOULD NOT HOLD. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BARTOW FORD, BARTOW, FL ON 3/29/06, BUT WAS NOT LOOKED AT UNTIL 3/30/06. SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. TOW TRUCK OPERATOR MENTIONED TO ME THAT HE HAD TOWED ANOTHER 2004 FORD F-150 THE PREVIOUS WEEK THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH LOSS OF BRAKING. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AS THE THIRD DOOR ON THE VEHICLE WAS OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE A CHILD'S FINGER WAS OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. AS THE PRESSURE OF THE OUTSIDE HANDLE WAS APPLIED THE CHILD'S FINGER BECAME LODGED INSIDE THE INTERIOR HANDLE AND SUSTAINED A ONE INCH CUT TO THE FINGER. THE LACERATION WAS COMPLETELY TO THE BONE AND REQUIRED IMMEDIATE SURGERY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. *AK.....THE CONTACTED NOTIFIED THE DEALER THREE TIMES ABOUT THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, DEALER HAD NOT OFFERED TO PUT A DIFFERENT HANDLE IN THE CAR. *AK
I HAVE OWNED A 2004 FORD F-150 FX4 WITH ONLY 14,000 MILES ON IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP AT FORD FOR 4 DAYS NOW AND THEY CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. TRUCK MAKES A RATTLING NOISE FROM UNDER FRONT END WHEN PULLING A HILL OR WHEN YOU REACH 50 MPH. IT ALSO SEEMS TO LOSE POWER OR "BOG DOWN" MOMENTARILY WHEN IT SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. MECHANIC SAYS IT IS A "NIGHTMARE" BECAUSE THEY CAN HEAR THE NOISE AND FEEL THE GEAR SHIFTING PROBLEM, BUT CAN'T FIND WHAT'S WRONG AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WE HAVE ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THIS TRUCK WAS A FORD BUY BACK AND WE ARE THE 3RD, POSSIBLY 4TH, OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE, (STILL INVESTIGATING). WE ARE WONDERING WHY THIS TRUCK HAS CHANGED HANDS SO MANY TIMES WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. WE WILL BE RETURNING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER TOMORROW AND GETTING OUR 2003 EXPEDITION BACK, WHICH HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY, AND WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT AGAIN, CAUSING US TO TRADE IT IN...WE'LL BE BACK TO SQUARE ONE!!! THANKS FORD! BY THE WAY, THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY 2 INSTANCES WHERE I HAVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH FORD PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICE. I WROTE A DETAILED LETTER TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY CONCERNING ANOTHER VEHICLE I HAD PURCHASED FROM THEM SEVERAL YEARS AGO. I STATED THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE AND ALSO ABOUT THE POOR SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM THEIR COMPANY...OF COURSE I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. I COULD GO ON FOREVER. SIX YEARS AND 7 FORD PRODUCTS LATER, I MAY HAVE FINALLY LEARNED MY LESSON. SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SWITCHING TO THE "OTHER GUYS" FOR A VEHICLE. *JB
3/23/06 TOOK MY TRUCK INTO DEALERSHIP FOR WHAT SEEMED TO BE THE FRONT LEFT CALIPER STICKING (TRUCK FELT LIKE BRAKE WAS CONTINUOUSLY PRESSED, AREA SMELLED STRONGLY OF BURNED RUBBER). DEALERSHIP STATED THEY TOOK LEFT FRONT WHEEL OFF AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS, TRUCK WAS OKAY TO LEAVE IN. 4/6/06 - WHILE PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKES WERE HARDLY OPERABLE. WHILE DRIVING TO DEALERSHIP, BRAKE PEDAL WOULD CONTINUOUSLY ALTERNATE BETWEEN WORKING OKAY AND DEPRESSING ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED LACK OF BRAKE FUNCTIONING AND STATED THAT IS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AND ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER. KEPT TRUCK OVERNIGHT. 4/14/06 - SAME EXACT PROBLEM AS ON 4/6/06. DEALERSHIP AGAIN ACKNOWLEDGED LACK OF BRAKE FUNCTIONING AND STATED SAFETY HAZARD. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE NEW MASTER CYLINDER THAT THEY PUT IN MUST HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE AND THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP THE TRUCK OVER THE WEEKEND IN ORDER TO GET ANOTHER NEW MASTER CYLINDER IN AND REPLACE IT AGAIN. 4/24/06 - SAME EXACT PROBLEM AGAIN. DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED LACK OF BRAKE FUNCTIONING AND SAFETY HAZARD. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD WAS NOT ADJUSTED PROPERLY. ADJUSTED PUSH ROD WHILE I WAITED. 5/18/06 - ONCE AGAIN, BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. DROVE STRAIGHT TO DEALERSHIP & WAS INFORMED OF SAFETY HAZARD AND THAT THEY NEED TO KEEP IT OVERNIGHT, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG. I DON'T BELIEVE ANY CONSUMER SHOULD BE STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT BECOMES POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WITHOUT WARNING AND THAT HAS BEEN IN THE FORD REPAIR SHOP 5 TIMES IN 2 MONTHS FOR THE SAME THING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF INCIDENTS AND THE DEALERSHIPS LACK OF BEING ABLE TO CORRECT IT. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A $16,000 PAYOFF ON A POSSIBLE DEATH MACHINE AND I THINK SOMEONE HIGHER THAN THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD SERIOUSLY REVIEW MY SITUATION BEFORE THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 F-150 FX4 THAT HAS 6 POWER WINDOWS, INCLUDING THE BACKSLIDER AND SUN-ROOF. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN DEC. OF 04. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS AT 35000 THE DRIVER WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR, I LIVE IN THE HOTTEST CITY IN AZ. THE DEALER WAS HAPPY TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER, BECAUSE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR TRUCK. THAT IS WHAT THE DEALER TOLD ME! THE SOLUTION MEAN WHILE, A PAIR OF VISEGRIPS ON THE WINDOW FRAME RAIL, THAT ACTUALLY WORK GREAT EVEN THOUGH I HAD TO DO IT MYSELF. THEY DID FIX THE WINDOW UNDER WARRANTY, BUT A WEEK LATER THE PASSENGER WINDOW HIT THE FLOOR TOO. LUCKILY STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WHILE TAKING THE TRUCK IN FOR THE PASSENGER WINDOW THE BACKSLIDER QUIT WORKING SO THEY FIXED IT AS WELL. 3 DOWN 2 TO GO! TWO WEEKS LATER THE DRIVER REAR WINDOW MAKES A POPPING SOUND AND WENT INTO THE DOOR. #4 AND WOULD YOU GUESS 14 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY, $388 LATER WINDOW IS FINE. ONE WEEK TO THE DAY DRIVING TO PHOENIX AZ. A SLIGHT BITE COOLER THEN WE ARE, THE PASSENGER REAR WINDOW POPPED AND SLOWLY WENT DOWN. AFTER AN HOUR IN A WAL-MART PARKING LOT I GOT THE WINDOW CLAMPED UP. THE DEALER TOLD ME TO WAIT FOR A RECALL AND I WILL BE PAID FOR THE TWO WINDOWS AT $388 A POP. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT IS A DESIGN CHANGE TO THE REGULATOR IN THE WINDOW. A PLASTIC CLIP IS USED ON THE CABLE THAT PULLS THE WINDOW UP/DOWN. MY OTHER QUESTION IS DO THEY REPLACE THE REGULATOR WITH THE SAME TYPE AND IF SO WHEN WILL IT BREAK AGAIN. *NM
RECALL 2004 FORD F-150 POWER WINDOW REGULATORS - THE 4 WINDOWS ON MY 2004 F150, IN ALL 4 DOORS HAVE FALLEN DOWN. FOR 4 YEARS, I HAVE TRIED TO GET THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THE WINDOW REGULATORS, BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE REGULATORS AS BEING DEFECTIVE, OR UNDER WARRANTY. ACCORDING TO THE FORD PARTS PERSON I SPOKE TO THE OTHER DAY THE WINDOW REGULATOR PART# HAS CHANGED NOW 3 TIMES AND HE STATED THAT FORD NEVER CHANGES THE PART # UNLESS THERE IS A PHYSICAL CHANGE TO THE PART AND HE STATED THEY HAVE HAD "ISSUES" WITH THESE REGULATORS THUS THE CHANGE, HE STATED THAT THE NEWEST VERSION HAS BEEN BEEFED UP AROUND THE PLASTIC CLIP THAT KEEPS BREAKING OFF, HOPEFULLY THE NEWEST VERSIONS HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BUT AS YOU CAN SEE JUST BY THE FACT THAT FORD HAS CHANGED THE PART # 3 TIMES THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND NOW THEY NEED TO FIX THIS SAFETY HAZARD ON ALL OF OUR WINDOWS. I AM REQUESTING FROM FORD THAT THEY REPLACE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS IN MY VEHICLE. MY WINDOWS SHOULD NOT BE INOPERABLE! 2005 FORD F-150. RECURRING BRAKE PROBLEM IN APPROX 28,000 I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES AS BRAKES SQUEAL AND GRIND. APPROX EVERY 4 - 5,000 MILES, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS. *JB
I HAVE A FORD REGENCY F-150 WITH A FACTORY 6 INCH LIFT DONE BY REGENCY. WHEN THE LIFT WAS DONE THE STEERING LINKAGE IS IN CONTACT WITH THE BRAKE LINE SO WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED A HOLE WAS WORN IN THE BRAKE LINE CAUSING A LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE. I TALKED TO REGENCY AND RICK SAID IT WAS THE SECOND HE HAD HEARD OF. MINE IS BEING FIXED NOW BUT ANYONE ELSE WHO OWNS ONE OF THESE VEHICLES IS AT RISK OF AN ACCIDENT. I AM REPORTING THIS IN THE HOPES NO ONE IS HURT UNNECESSARILY. *NM
NOTED THAT DRIVERS DOOR DID NOT LINE UP CORRECTLY AS BEFORE. BODY SHOP NOTED THAT DOOR HAD EVIDENCE OF A WELD FAILING IN AREA WHERE THE HINGES INSERT INTO THE DOOR. THAT WAS 2/27/06 AND TRUCK HAD APPROX. 62,000 MILES ON IT. THEN THIS SPRING (2008) I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE DOOR BEGAN TO FIT EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE AND PUT MY CAMERA BETWEEN DOOR AND DOOR POST TO TAKE PHOTOS AS MY HEAD WOULD NOT FIT IN THAT AREA TO GET A GOOD VIEW. PHOTOS SHOWED NUMEROUS CRACKS HAD DEVELOPED IN AREA OF HINGE INSERTIONS ON THE DOOR AND THE ENTIRE DOOR END HAD WARPED OUT OF SHAPE IN AREA OF HINGE ATTACHMENTS. NOW TRUCK HAS 113,000 MILES AND WHEN MY DEALER SPOKE TO CORPORATE FORD, THEY WERE TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY FOR BODY DEFECTS HAD EXPIRED AT 36,000 MILES. I SPOKE TO CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD DO NOTHING AS THERE WAS NO RECALL ISSUED. THAT WAS SOMETIME IN MAY 2008. MY CONTENTION IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT A BODY DEFECT AND PUTS ME IN DANGER SHOULD THERE BE A CRASH. THIS DOOR WILL NOT PROTECT ME IN A SIDE IMPACT AS IT IS NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
I BOUGHT THE 2004 FX4 F-150 SUPER CAB IN LATE 2005 WITH 25000 MILES ON IT. I PURCHASED A $1400 EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY THROUGH THE FORD DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE FIRST FEW MONTHS I NOTICED A GRINDING SOUND UNDER THE TRUCK THAT SOUNDED LIKE A FEW BALL BEARINGS ROLLING AROUND QUICKLY IN A METAL BOWL. IT WOULD LAST ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS AND THEN I WOULD NOT HEAR AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS. AFTER ABOUT THE 5TH TIME THIS HAPPENED I TOOK VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, SO NOTHING WAS DONE. THE NEXT TIME THIS NOISE WAS HEARD I QUICKLY TURNED ON THE 4X4 HIGH VIA THE SWITCH ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. I COULD DO THIS EVERY TIME AFTER. THIS WAS TELLING ME IT WAS SOMEWHERE IN THE TRANSFER CASE. SO, LAST WEEK AROUND 60000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION STARTED GRINDING IN TRAFFIC, SLIPPING, AND GIVING ME A TRANSMISSION FAIL INDICATION WHERE THE ODOMETER WAS LOCATED , AND A FLASHING OVERDRIVE OFF. THIS HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES UNTIL I COULD GET OFF THE EXPRESSWAY, AND EXIT INTO A GAS STATION PARKING LOT. I THOUGHT FOR SURE THE TRANSMISSION WAS GOING TO BLOW OUT AT ANY MOMENT. I TURNED OFF THE TRUCK, WHICH RESET THE TRANSMISSION FAIL ALARM, PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE, WHICH MADE A LOUD SLAMMING NOISE. I THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITH ONLY GRINDING NOISE IN FIRST GEAR. I WAITED 2 DAYS ,AND THEN DROVE THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP 40 MINUTES AWAY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS . AFTER A DAY IN THE S REPAIR SHOP THEY PULLED THE PAN AND IT HAD METAL SHAVINGS EVERYWHERE. THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THEY FOUND SOME BAD SEALS AND A VACUUM PUMP/SOLENOID IN THE TRANSFER CASE, THE TRANSMISSION WAS GONE AND WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED. ALL THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED, WHICH I HAVE HEARD CAN CAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THE PROBLEMS. IT WOULD HAVE COST ME AROUND $6000 IF I DIDN'T PURCHASE THE COMPLETE WARRANTY.*AK
2004 FORD F150 SUPERCAB 4X. INTERMITTENT VIOLENT VIBRATION IN DRIVELINE. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED REAR END, DRIVESHAFT,CHECKED FRONT END,TIRES,ETC. USUALLY SMALL VIBRATION BECOMES VIOLENT AT TIMES. CAN NOT DUPLICATE AT WILL. DEALERSHIP NOW SAYS NOTHING WRONG. WHEN VIOLENT SHAKE OCCURS MUST STOP VEHICLE TO STOP SHAKE. I FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A ROARING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENTIRE REAR END HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND REBUILT ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN ALERTED.
2004 F150 RIGHT FOG LIGHT REPLACED, FRONT KICK PANEL CRACKED AND LOOSE. *TS ***NAR*** THE FLOOR TRIM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE CAME APART. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE OIL PRESSURE READ ZERO. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE FAILED. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 2/28/2006 - *NM
SAFETY ISSUE, IN CAB ELECTRICAL FAILURES. FEB 4TH 2006, IT RAINED 1.5 INCHES. MY TRUCK SAT IN THE RAIN WITH ALL THE WINDOWS UP. IN THE EVENING I OPENED THE DOOR AND DROVE AWAY. AS I HAD JUMPED IN THE TRUCK, I HAD REALIZED I DID NOT HAVE ANY DOME LIGHTS. AS I DROVE AWAY (ENGINE RUNNING FINE), I REALIZED I DID NOT HAVE ANY READOUTS ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND SEVERAL OTHER THINGS NOT WORKING. ABOUT 10 MILES LATER, I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND ALL MY NON-WORKING ITEMS BEGAN WORKING. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT WAS MY TRIPOMETER QUIT WORKING. AT THIS TIME, SEPTEMBER 14, 2006 I CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SPECIFICALLY WHEN IT RAINS OR IS HUMID. I CURRENTLY HAVE DRIVEN MY TRUCK APPROX 200 MILES IN THE PAST 4 DAYS WITHOUT ANY OF THESE ITEMS WORKING. DURING THESE 6 MONTHS, I WOULD APPROXIMATE THIS ISSUE AS 1X PER WEEK PROBLEM, WITH THE RESOLUTION BEING A HARD HIT ON THE DASH WHILE I AM DRIVING. HOWEVER, I AM AT THE POINT NOW WHERE HITTING THE DASH DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HERE IS A LIST OF THINGS NOT WORKING WHEN I HAVE THIS FAILURE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT BLINKS UPON START UP THEN STAYS ILLUMINATED. NO DOME LIGHTS NO SPEEDOMETER NO TRIPOMETER NO ODOMETER NO TACH NO FUEL NO ENGINE TEMP NO OPERATING VOLTS NO OIL PRESSUE NO AUDIBLE ALARM THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION NO AUDIBLE ALARM WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE LEFT ON NO AUTO POWER LOCKS NO POWER WINDOWS (THEREFORE STUCK IN POSITION OF LAST NORMAL OPERATION) NO RADIO NO AC NO DEFROST (PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN HUMIDITY IS HIGH = FOGGING WINDOWS.) I FEEL I HAVE SOME SAFETY ISSUES THAT MAKE THIS TRUCK UNSAFE. I AM AT 50,000 MILES WARRANTY, HOW DO I GET THE MFG TO FIX CORRECTLY, FOR FREE. *NM

FOUR REPAIRS DID NOT ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM SO A FIFTH REPAIR WAS REQUIRED ON JAN 25, 2006 WITH 32040 MILES. DURING THE FIVE REPAIR THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED TWICE AND REPLACED THREE TIMES. THE BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS WERE REPLACED ONCE. *NM
2004 F150 BRAKES BEGAN TO SHIMMY AND SHUTTER 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. ROTORS AND BRAKES WERE RESURFACED AND REPLACED. *TS ***NO ANSWER REQUIRED*** ABOUT THREE MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED THE CONSUMER BEGAN HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE ROTORS 3 TIME, RESURFACED THEM TWICE, REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS THREE TIMES AND REPLACED THE FRONT CALIPERS ONCE. THE REAR END WAS REPLACED ON DEC 2, 2004 BECAUSE OF VIBRATION AND BAD BEARINGS.
REGARDING 2004 FORD F150 4X4 PICKUP: SEVERAL MONTHS AGO I EXPERIENCED STEERING PROBLEMS. OUR LOCAL DEALER FIXED A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT BRAKES. HE STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF 2004 4X4 PICKUPS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THOUGH THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL. LAST WEEK THE VEHICLE CRASHED, WHICH RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURIES (MULTIPLE HEAD FRACTURES) TO MY WIFE, AND THE VEHICLE BEING TOTALED. I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT TWO-LANE COUNTRY ROAD, UP A SLIGHT GRADED. SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE TURNED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT. IT MADE A 180 DEGREE TURN, AND SKIDDED SIDEWAYS (OVER THE CENTER CROWN) ACROSS THE ROAD AND BROADSIDED A POWER POLE. THE POLE STRUCK THE PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR, EFFECTIVELY CAVING IT IN AND CAUSING THE INJURIES. DAYS LATER I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED (AND PHOTOGRAPHED) THAT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WAS RESTING AGAINST THE BRAKE CALIPER HOUSING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE EVIDENT TO EXPLAIN THIS. I DID OBSERVE THAT THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL HAD A CLEARANCE BETWEEN IT AND THE RIGHT BRAKE HOUSING. NOTE THAT THERE IS NO COLLISION DAMAGE TO THE LEFT SIDE OR FRONT PORTION OF THE TRUCK. THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO PIVOT ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WOULD BE CONSISTENT WITH THE BRAKE SUDDENLY GRABBING. *NM
1) MY TRUCK WILL STILL OUT WHEN COASTING TO RED LIGHTS OR WHEN IDLING. 2) WHEN THE TRUCK STALLS, I LOOSE POWER STEERING AND POWER BREAKS, YESTERDAY IT DIED OUT RIGHT ON TOP OF SOME RAILROAD TRACKS AND WAS GIVING ME TROUBLE TRYING TO RESTART. IT WOULD SAY "LOW OIL PRESSURE" ON START UP, HOWEVER THAT'S BECAUSE THE RPM'S WEREN'T HIGH ENOUGH TO CREATE ENOUGH OIL PRESSURE. IT WILL THEN GO INTO ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE. 3) THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS I NEED A NEW THROTTLE BODY AND TO REFLASH THE PCM. HOWEVER I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIRS YET BECAUSE I CAN NOT AFFORD THEM. *JB
I HONESTLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY 2004 F150 FX4. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT BOTH LINCOLN/MERCURY AND FORD DEALERS HERE IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA. PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS SO I'M NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP AND THE DEALERSHIPS KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG, BUT DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR DOES NOT HAVE QUALIFIED/TRAINED MECHANICS. WE HAVE A FORD F-150 2004 THE TRUCK IS A LITTLE OVER A YEAR OLD TO US. THE TRUCK STARTED CUTTING OUT WHEN GOT HOT. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE GENERAL AMERITRAC TR P255/70R17 TIRES ON OUR TRUCK. WITHIN THE LAST 3 MONTHS WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 TIRES, THEY ARE VERY EASILY PUNCTURED. WE HAVE NOT DONE OUT OF THE ORDINARY DRIVING. IT IS NORMAL GROUND AND NORMAL DRIVING. WHEN THE TIRES GO FLAT, THE PUNCTURE SITES ARE TOO BIG TO PLUG. TERRIFIC VIBRATIONS/SHIMMIES AT SPEEDS FROM 55-70 MPH. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND VIBRATIONS FELT THROUGH OUT THE VEHICLE. HAVE HAD VEHICLE IN TO FORD FOR WARRANTY REPAIR 6 TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER RIGHT NOW AND HAS BEEN THERE 3 DAYS. (10/17-10/18-10/19 AND WHO KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER.) WHEN IT VIBRATES AND SHAKES WE HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OFF THE FREEWAY. I WAS OPENING THE BACK DOOR OF AN EXTENDED CAB, FORD F150 2004, TRUCK TO GET OUT OF THE BACK SEAT. ANOTHER PERSON WAS ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR ME USING THE OUTSIDE HANDLE. THE HANDLE CAUGHT MY HAND AND SEVERED MY MIDDLE, RING, FINGER ON MY LEFT HAND. IT CUT THROUGH MY FINGERNAIL AND THE BONE. MY FINGER WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY SEVERED. IT WAS SEWN BACK ON BY AN EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTOR. I'VE HAD TO SEE AN ORTHOPEDIC DOCTOR SEVERAL TIMES FOR PAIN AND TREATMENT. THIS OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES. THE AIR CONDITIONER FINALLY TURNED ITSELF OFF WHEN HE TURNED HIS HEADLIGHTS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK OUR TRUCK WILL GO IN TO A VIOLENT SHAKING EPISODE. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME IT RIDES BEAUTIFULLY. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A PATTERN OTHER THAN IT BEGINS AFTER THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED AND STARTED TO BE DRIVEN AGAIN. IT FEELS AS IF THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF LITERALLY. IT SEEMS TO BE SUSPENSION RELATED BUT SETS OFF NO ENGINE LIGHT OR WARNINGS. USUALLY IF MY WIFE OR I STOP THE TRUCK, PLACE IT IN PARK, SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, THE PROBLEM WILL STOP. IT IS SUCH A VIOLENT SHAKING THAT THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE DRIVEN AND MUST BE PULLED OFF THE ROAD. HERE IN AMISH COUNTRY NOT ALL ROADS HAVE EMERGENCY LANES AND THIS HAS PUT US IN SOME DANGEROUS PREDICAMENT. HAD THE TRUCK IN TO ONE DEALER WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT'S NEIGHBORS HEARD THE VEHICLE AND CAME OUTSIDE BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS OUTSIDE RACING. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. THE TRUCK IS WITH THE POLICE AT THIS TIME, THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS GOING TO ACQUIRE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN INSPECTED TO SEE WHY THIS HAPPENED.
