FILED PREVIOUS COMPLAINT ABOUT MY TRUCK. IT NOW BLOWS BLACK SMOKE WHEN IT CRANKS. IT IS A GOOD INDICATION THAT IT RECEIVING A RICH MIXTURE OF GAS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHED. I KNOW IT TIES IN WITH THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, BUT FORD INDICATES EVERYTHING IS NORMAL ALTHOUGH I AM SEEING BLACK SMOKE NOW WHEN I CRANK UP MY TRUCK. *TR
2004AND 2006 FORD F250 AND 150 SPARKS PLUGS BLOW OUT AND COSTLY REPAIR ON FACTORY INSTALL PLUGS. *TR
STEERING GOT HARD, WOULDN'T RETURN TO CENTER, NEARLY PUT TRUCK INTO DITCH AFTER TURNING OUT OF DRIVEWAY.....THOUGHT POWER STEERING WAS INOP...SEEMS THE COUPLI NG WAS SEIZED UP....DEALER SAID IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME...I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT...IT WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT STILL COST ME THE DEDUCTIBLE ,PLUS AS IT WAS FAILING , MY DRIVING PROBABLY SEEMED ERRATIC TO ANYONE VIEWING THE STRUGGLE TO GET VEHICLE STRAIGHTENED OUT AFTER A TURN....I BELIEVE THIS IS A RECALLABLE ITEM.... FORD F-150 2006 WITH 5.4 L LEAKS FUEL OUT OF THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK WHEN FILLING, THE FUEL STATIONS PUMP DOES NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL CAUSING GASOLINE TO BE SPILLED ON THE GROUND. THIS STARTED AND THEN THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING SO I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL TO PUMP BEFORE THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY FILL-UP. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL FILLER TUBE AND HAS ORDERED A NEW FUEL GAUGE BUT FOR TWO WEEKS HAS BEEN UNABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT ALSO AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. I WAS INFORMED BY AN ONLINE FORD EXPERT MECHANIC, THAT THERE WERE OTHER INSTANCES OF FUEL LEAKS ON THIS MODEL (GASKETS AT THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN UNIDENTIFIED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE STALLED, BUT WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD COST $700 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. SHE IS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 40,000.
2006 FORD F-150, WHEN MAKING A TURN WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL GETS VERY STIFF, THEN LOOSENS UP EVERY HALF TURN, OCCASIONALLY BINDING UP TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER AT ALL. UPON INSPECTION, FOUND THE STEER SHAFT UNIVERSAL BINDS UP. HAS BEEN GREASED SEVERAL TIMES, WORKS FINE FOR A WEEK, AND THEN STARTS BINDING UP AGAIN. REQUIRES GREAT FORCE TO TURN AND AVOID ACCIDENTS IN TURNS. IF UNIVERSAL BREAKS, ALL STEERING CONTROL WILL BE LOST WHILE TURNING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT BEARINGS AND ROTORS REPLACED ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS OF THE VEHICLE AS A RECURRING FAILURE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE FAILURE TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND WAS CONCERNED THAT THE WHEELS WOULD DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR POSSIBLE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE CONTACT EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO CHECK THE FLUIDS AND TIRES, BUT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE AS TO WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND BEGAN SHAKING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT AND EJECTED ITSELF FROM THE ENGINE, WHICH DAMAGED THE CYLINDER HEAD. THE DEALER INSERTED A HELICAL COIL TO THE HEAD OF THE CYLINDER, BUT IT WAS NOT A FULL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY ARE WAITING FOR HER TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO BREAK DOWN THE ENGINE FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT HAS A WARRANTY THAT CAN BE USED FOR THIS REPAIR, BUT THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT IS DENYING THIS REPAIR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 67,000.
I DISCOVERED A LEAKY REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ON MY 2006 FORD TRUCK WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE SHOCK ABSORBER WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD REPLACE IT, BUT NOT THE PAIR. EVERY PROFESSIONAL SHOP THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH, TO INCLUDE THE FORD DEALER, SAYS SHOCK ABSORBERS SHOULD ALWAYS BE REPLACED IN PAIRS, BUT FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE THE PAIR--IT SAYS IT WILL ONLY REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE ONE. I APPEALED TO FORD MOTOR CORP AND THEY TOO REFUSED. I BELIEVE THAT IS WRONG AND UNSAFE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK AND THE POWER STEERING FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING OUT WHEN I PLACED MY TRUCK IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO DRIVE UP MY DRIVEWAY. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT MORNING TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL BRACKET BROKE AWAY FROM THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK AND WAS PUSHING UP INTO THE STEERING SHAFT KNUCKLE PROHIBITING SMOOTH TURNING. THE 3 ASC CERTIFIED MECHANICS THAT LOOKED AT THIS ADVISED IT WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BECAUSE THE BRACKET WHICH SHOULD HAVE HAD APPROXIMATELY AN 8 INCH WELD ONLY HAD 2 ONE INCH SPOT WELDS HOLDING IT IN PLACE. UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED, I COULD NOT USE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I WAS ADVISED BY ALL 3 MECHANICS THAT USING THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE UNTIL REPAIRED COULD RESULT IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACCIDENT. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT BECAUSE THEY HAVE A REPAIR KIT FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS $600.00. THEY WILL NOT SAY WHAT THE AMOUNT OF LABOR IS UNTIL THE REPAIR KIT IS PURCHASED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL SHOP WHO SAID THEY COULD FIX IT FOR LESS THAN WHAT A FORD SERVICE SHOP WOULD CHARGE. THE ASC MASTER CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPAIRED THE PROBLEM BY SIMPLY WELDING THE EXISTING BRACKET THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WELDED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY WOULD NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A DEER AND SEVERELY DAMAGED THE VEHICLE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE FAILED INCIDENT. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING FORD TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,000.
2 2006 FORD F150 TRUCKS W/ 5.4 MOTORS HAD SAME PROBLEM IN SAME WEEK. BOTH WHILE IN PARK AT NIGHT ROLLED BACKWARDS THEN STOPPED AGAIN. *TR
1. I WAS TRYING TO OPEN A FORD F-150 1/2 DOOR FROM THE INSIDE TO GET OUT OF THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT. AS I WENT TO GRAB THE PLASTIC HANDLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS ATTEMPTING TO ASSIST IN OPENING THE DOOR FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. 2. MY FINGER WAS PINCHED IN THE LEVER AS THE FRONT PASSENGER LIFTED THE LATCH MECHANISM AND 2/3 OF THE PHALANGE ON MY LEFT INDEX FINGER WAS PINCHED IN THE HANDLE AND AMPUTATED. THE DOOR NEVER OPENED, THE HANDLE WAS NOT FULLY OPENED WHEN I YELLED, CAUSING THE OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO RELEASE THE LATCH. I HAD TO HAVE IMMEDIATE SURGERY TO SAVE THE REMAINING PORTION OF THE PHALANGE. DUE TO THE COMPLETE AMPUTATION, THEY WERE UNABLE TO REATTACH MY FINGER. 3. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THERE IS NOT A CORRECTION TO THIS EVENT. MY NIECE AND NEPHEW HAVE ALSO HAD THEIR FINGERS PINCHED DUE TO THE DESIGN FLAW OF THE INTERIOR REAR PASSENGER 1/2 DOOR OPENING MECHANISMS. (THIS IS MY BROTHER-IN-LAW'S VEHICLE. HE IS SENDING ME THE VIN AND OTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE TRUCK. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED THIS INFORMATION.) *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THE SPEED WOULD NOT INCREASE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO CURRENT RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED HIM TO HAVE IT INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 46,400.
2006 FORD F150 4X4 CK HARNESS AND SWITCHES FOUND DEFECTIVE SOLENOID AND VAC LEAK TO LEFT FRT HUB. ISOLATE VAC LEAK REPAIR VAC LINE. *TR
MY SON WAS KILLED IN HIS 2006 FORD 150 PICKUP TRUCK DRIVING 45 MILES AN HOUR. HIS TRUCK APPARENTLY LEFT THE ROAD WITH NO SIGNS OF BRAKES BEING APPLIED, FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. HIS INSURANCE COMPANY WAS THREATENING ME TO RELEASE THE TRUCK FROM STORAGE WHICH I DID. I HAVE SINCE REGAINED MY SENSES ENOUGH TO SEARCH THE WEB AND SEE THAT THERE WERE MANY RECALLS ON THE BRAKE LINES OF THIS MAKE TRUCK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN JANUARY 2009, JUNE 2009 AND AGAIN IN OCTOBER 2009. THE FAILURE BECAME MORE FREQUENT AND PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS; SHE WOULD BE ABLE TO RESTART AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT SHE SHOULD TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED TO-DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
PLEASE SEE ODI#10278394. COMPLAINT CONTINUED. TRUCK TAKEN TO GARAGE TO BE FIXED IN JANUARY 09 BECAUSE OF VIBRATION IN STEERING FROM BRAKES. OCT, GUARANTEE RUN OUT, AND BRAKES STILL NOT FIXED. VIBRATION CONTINUED. ORDERED NEW PERFORMANCE ROTORS AND PADS. UPON INSTALLATION OF THESE ITEMS I INSPECTED CALIPERS AND FOUND CRACKS AND CHIPS IN CYLINDER PLUNGERS WHICH CONNECT TO PUSH THE PADS. I WOULD SAY THIS CAME FROM CONSTANT VIBRATION OF THE FRONT BRAKES WHICH FORD DID NOT FIX FOR EIGHT MONTHS. THE CENTER PLUNGER OF THESE CALIPER PISTONS ARE MADE OF A FIBER BOARD WHICH WILL NOT STAND UP TO VIBRATION, FIBER BOARD IS A VERY HARD AND BRITTLE MATERIAL WHICH IS GOOD FOR HEAT AND WEAR BUT NOT VIBRATION. CALIBERS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. OF COURSE AT MY EXPENSE. TRUCK IS UNDRIVEABLE AND THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND DEATH IF BREAKDOWN OF THIS FIBER BOARD TYPE MATERIAL SHOULD FAIL WITHOUT NOTICE. YOU WOULD COMPLETELY LOSE YOUR CONTROL AND BRAKES. *TR
FUEL ECONOMY IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH STANDARDS ON THE 4.6L F150. I HAVE CHECKED AND CHECKED IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I AM SUPPOSED TO ACTUALLY GET BETTER GAS MILEAGE ON THE HIGHWAY. AROUND TOWN AND ON THE HIGHWAY, SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY TRUCK IN 2006 IT HAS BEEN GETTING 13 MPG. I JUST RECENTLY PLACED A K&N FILTER ON IT IN ORDER TO HELP WITH THE MILEAGE. I AM NOW GETTING 15MPG HIGHWAY AND AROUND TOWN. BEFORE THE CHANGE, THE TRUCKS IDLE WAS ROUGH AND DROPPED BELOW 1,000 RPMS. AFTER THE CHANGE, IT'S STILL THE SAME. I TOOK IT TO A TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEPARTMENTS AND SPOKE WITH THEM ABOUT THE CONCERN THAT I HAD AND BOTH TOLD ME IT WAS THE WAY I DROVE THE TRUCK. WRONG. WHEN THERE IS BLACK SOOT ON THE EXHAUST PIPE AND IT'S NOT CLEAN, THAT'S AN INDICATION OF A MAF SENSOR OR ONE OF THE OXYGEN SENSORS HAVE GONE BAD. I HAVE NEARLY 25,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND AM FIXING TO REPLACE THE MAF SENSOR DUE TO THE FACT THAT A MAF SENSOR WILL NOT SHOW UP AS BEING DAMAGED AND NO COMPUTER CODES ARE RELAYED THROUGH THIS. THE OXYGEN SENSORS WOULD SHOW COMPUTER CODES. I DO HAVE IT ON FILE AT WAYNE MORRIS FORD IN PERRY, GA WHERE THEY HAD CHECKED THE TRUCK AND STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG, I WAS JUST GETTING BAD GAS. THIS WAS BEFORE I CHANGED OUT THE AIR FILTER. IT IS AGGRAVATING IN KNOWING THAT ONE, I AM DRIVING A TRUCK THAT NOW GETS 15 MPG CITY/HIGHWAY WHERE BEFORE IT WAS 13 MPG WHEN I SHOULD BE GETTING 17/20 MPG. *ALSO, HERE IS A KEYNOTE. THE 2006 CRUISE CONTROL ASSEMBLY WAS MESSED UP ON THE TRUCK WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED IT AND THEY REPLACED IT WITH A 2007 CRUISE CONTROL ASSEMBLY AND PLACED A NEWER 2007 COMPUTER IN IT DUE TO THE FACT 2006 WAS NOT PICKING UP ON THE CRUISE CONTROL.*TR
2006 F150 4X4 LARIAT, 7557 MILES. IN COLD TEMPERATURE BACKUP SENSOR SOUNDS ALARM AS IF OBSTRUCTION IS CLOSE WHEN THERE IS NONE. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER AND SALES SAID THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS MODEL. AM WAITING FOR SERVICE TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT AS TRUCK ONLY HAS A FEW MONTHS LEFT OF WARRANTY. TRUCK IS ONLY DRIVEN IN WINTER AND THIS IS FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. ON NOVEMBER 19, 2008, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO FORD RECALL NUMBER 08S05B (BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM HOSE REPLACEMENT). WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ROAD PAVEMENT WAS DRY. THE CONTACT AND THE OTHER PASSENGER IN HIS VEHICLE WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR BACK INJURIES AND BRUISES. BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED; HOWEVER, BOTH VEHICLES WERE ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,537.
FORD F-150 WOULD NOT SHUT OFF, REMOVED FUSE TO FUEL PUMP. FOUND ENERGY TO OTHER COMPONENTS NOT ON. REMOVED NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER. REPORT FROM DEALER WIRE HARNESS FROM ABS SYSTEM BURNT SENDING ENERGY THROUGHOUT TRUCK. DEALER SAID TRUCK SHOULD HAVE BURNED UP. DEALER COULD NOT CONFIRM IF PROBLEM WAS WITH ABS OR HARNESS. *TR
1. MY TRUCK WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY NOT BEING DRIVEN OR ANYTHING AND THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. 2. IF THE WEATHER HAD NOT BEEN SO NICE MY TRUCK WOULD BE FULL OF WATER OR SNOW. 3. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SO IT IS GETTING REPLACED, BUT I HAVE READ ABOUT THIS FAILURE AND AM PLANNING ON OWNING THIS TRUCK FOR LONG AFTER THE WARRANTY IS OVER WITH. IT SOUNDS LIKE EVEN IF THE PART IS FIXED THAT IT WILL FAIL AGAIN AND WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL UNTIL THE PART IS REPLACED WITH A STRONGER MORE SUITABLE PART THAT WILL STAND UP TO THE FORCES INVOLVED FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE INSTEAD OF JUST ABOUT 40K MILES AND UNTIL IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS PART IS CLOSE TO 400 BUCKS INSTALLED AND THE TRUCK HAS 4 WINDOWS. THAT IS A POTENTIAL OF 1600 BUCKS EVERY 40K MILES. I WOULD APPRECIATE A RECALL OR A SERVICE BULLETIN TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF US F150 OWNERS ARE PROTECTED AGAINST ALL THIS EXCESS COST. *TR

BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL NOTICE ON 2006 F150 HARLEY. ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 I LEFT MY VEHICLE IN PARAMUS FORD N.J. FOR RECALL REPAIR AND OTHER ISSUES. WHEN I RETURNED THE MANAGER DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR RECALL. ON SEPTEMBER 26, 08 I HIT ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE BRAKES DIDN'T STOP. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE LOOKS INTO THESE BRAKING SYSTEM BECAUSE THIS WAS A SCARY ACCIDENT WITH OUT BEING PREPARED. *TR

THE ENGINE STALLED AND A MECHANIC LATER DETERMINED THAT A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF WATER WAS FOUND IN THE GAS TANK. PRIOR TO THE STALL THE TRUCK HAD BEEN KEPT IN A LOCATION WHERE IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO PUT WATER INTO THE TANK. WHEN I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP MECHANIC, HE INDICATED THAT HE PERSONALLY HAD SEEN OTHER CASES WHERE WATER HAD MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED IN A FORD F150 GAS TANK WHICH APPEARED TO BE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE FACT THAT RAIN WATER LANDING INSIDE THE TRUCKS BOX DRIPS THROUGH THE SEAMS AND RIVETS OF THE BOX DIRECTLY ONTO THE FUEL PUMP PASSING INTO THE GAS TANK WHEN IT REMAINS PARKED FOR A SUBSTANTIAL PERIOD OF TIME. WHEN I GOOGLED "WATER IN THE FUEL TANK", I FIND THAT THE FIRST ITEM TO COME UP IS FORD F150 OWNERS DESCRIBING THE INEXPLICABLE DISCOVERY OF SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF WATER IN THEIR GAS TANK! I WAS DRIVING MY 06 FORD TRUCK 4.6 ENGINE ON FREEWAY MOTOR FAILED, LOUD NOISE COMING FROM MOTOR AND LOOSE OF POWER. I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN MAJOR COLLISION TRYING TO GET TRUCK OFF THE FREEWAY. 2006 SUPERCREW 4X4 F150 THAT BEGAN MISSING AND SHAKING BADLY ALONG WITH RICH SMELL OF GASOLINE THIS MORNING. WAS TAKEN INTO SHOP WHERE IT LATER HYDROLOCKED AND WAS NOW UNABLE TO START. ASSESSMENT BY FORD TECHNICIAN FOUND THE ENGINE TO HAVE A FAULTY INJECTOR ON CYLINDER 6 THAT WAS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION ALLOWING FUEL TO DUMP DIRECTLY INTO CYLINDER UNTIL FULL AND THE PISTON WAS UNABLE TO MOVE ANYMORE APPARENTLY RESULTING IN SOME BENT RODS ACCORDING TO TECHNICIAN. WAS ADVISED THAT ENGINE WAS BLOWN AND NEEDED $9500 FOR REPLACEMENT ENGINE SINCE VEHICLE WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AT 56,000 MILES. FOUND OUT THAT MANY OF THE 2005 MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE HAD RECALLS ON THE SAME INJECTORS MAKING THIS TYPE OF REPAIR COVERED, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW THIS RECALL SINCE IT A 2006 MODEL. THIS BOTHERS ME BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS ACTUALLY SHOWN TO BE MANUFACTURED IN SEPT 2005 AND POSSIBLY HAD THE SAME BATCH OF FAULTY INJECTORS INSTALLED IN IT. *TR
