TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
VEHICLE SPUTTERED AND STALLED WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON FREEWAY. AFTER TOWING TO DEALER, DEALER COULD ONLY FIND LOOSE BATTERY CABLE. 2 DAYS LATER ENGINE STALLED AGAIN WHILE ACCELERATING ON FREEWAY WITH SAME SYMPTOMS. VEHICLE WILL NOT START AND IS WITH DEALER WHO INITIALLY SAID NO ISSUES CAN BE FOUND. VEHICLE SYMPTOMS MATCH DESCRIPTION OF "LIMP MODE". *TR
WHILE IN MOTION, WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER BUCKLED IN, THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG OFTEN INDICATES THE AIR BAG IS OFF. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED. WE HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES. DATE INDICATED BELOW DOES NOT AT ALL REFLECT THE NUMBER OF TIMES THIS HAS OCCURRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD SUDDENLY MALFUNCTION. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE POWER STEERING FAILURES OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND EVENTUALLY WENT OUT COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST ASSEMBLY MALFUNCTIONED. THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
MY 2013 FORD F150 HAS HAD TWO DEAD BATTERIES SINCE I PURCHASED IN JULY OF 2013 BRAND NEW. THE FIRST ONE HAPPENED NOV OF 2014, THEY PUT IN A NEW BATTERY AND THE SECOND IN FEB 2015 FORD DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO THEY BASICALLY JUST PUT IN A NEW BATTERY, CURRENTLY 15K MILES. ., BUT THERE IS A POWER DRAW SOMEWHERE. THIS CAN LEAVE ME AND MY FAMILY STRANDED SOME WHERE, NOT SAFE! *TR
I WENT OUT TO MY TRUCK AND STARTED IT UP. I NOTICED THEIR WERE TINY SHINY SPECKS ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. I LOOKED UP AND MY SUNROOF WAS TOTALLY SHATTERED. WHEN I PARKED THE DAY BEFORE EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THERE WERE NO TREES THAT SOMETHING COULD HAVE FALLEN FROM THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THIS. NO OTHER VEHICLES PARKED NEARBY WERE DAMAGED AND VANDALS USUALLY GO FOR SIDE WINDOWS. IT WAS NOT UNUSUALLY COLD. A SHORT SEARCH ON THE INTERNET SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT AS ISOLATED AS THE FORD DEALER THAT THE BODY SHOP I'M USING CALLED. THERE ARE OTHERS WITH FORD PRODUCTS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO.SOME WERE DRIVING WHEN THEIR SUNROOFS EXPLODED OTHERS CAME OUT FIND THEIR SUNROOFS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS MINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE SUNROOF FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE SUNROOF WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000. UPDATED 01/23/15*LJ UPDATED 6/8/2015 *JS
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON THIS MORNING AT ABOUT 60MPH I HEARD A LOUD "BOOM" SOUND AND MOMENTS LATER PULLED BACK THE SUNROOF COVER TO DISCOVER MY SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. THE GLASS PANEL HAD A HOLE IN THE CENTER AND ALL REMAINING GLASS WAS CRACKED. FORTUNATELY, THE VISOR WAS CLOSED OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN SHOWERED WITH GLASS SHARDS. THE REMAINING GLASS WAS PROTRUDING UPWARD AS IF IT EXPLODED OUTWARDLY. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEAR ME TO THROW A ROCK NOR WAS I DRIVING UNDER AN OVERPASS OR BRIDGE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO FORD OF WEST MEMPHIS AND DESCRIBED WHAT HAPPENED. THE SERVICE MAN SAID HE WOULD SUBMIT THE REPAIR TO FORD FOR APPROVAL TO REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THERE WAS NO IMPACT THAT CAUSED THE BREAKAGE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE DENIED MY WARRANTY CLAIM SO I HAD TO GET IT REPAIRED UNDER MY INSURANCE AND PAY THE DIFFERENCE. $1009.68 AND FOUR DAYS LATER I HAVE MY TRUCK BACK. I INSPECTED THE REMOVED GLASS WITH THE DEALER PERSONNEL AND IT IS CLEAR THAT THERE IS A CRACK AT THE FRONT CENTER EDGE OF THE GLASS FROM WHICH ALL OTHER CRACKS PROPAGATED OUT FROM IN A FAN PATTERN. THERE IS NO SIGN OF IMPACT IN THIS AREA AND ITS EVEN PROTECTED WITH THE RUBBER SEAL SUCH THAT IT WOULD BE VERY UNLIKELY THAT ANYTHING COULD IMPACT THE GLASS THERE. I AM GOING TO WRITE A LETTER TO FORD TO DEMAND THEY PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR
WIPERS STUCK IN DELAY MODE EVEN WITH WIPERS OFF. EVERY 10 SECONDS WIPERS WOULD COME ON. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE SWITCH MODULE. WAS UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY ACCELERATED AS THE RPMS INCREASED TO 4000. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND AND THE RPMS REMAINED AT 4000. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. LEFT TURN SIGNAL STUCK ON, RIGHT TURN SIGNAL INOPERABLE. *TR
WE HAVE HAD 3 WRECKS IN THIS TRUCK FROM REAR ENDING PEOPLE BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP OR THE PEADALWOULD GO TO THE FLOOR I STILL OWN THIS TRUCK BECAUSE I STILL OWE A LOT OF MONEY ON IT. I CANT AFFORD TO GET RID OF IT. SO I JUST HARDLY EVER DRIVE IT UNLESS I HAVE TO IT NORMALLY STOPS EXCEPT THOSE THREE TIMES IT HASN'T I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE THE MECHANICS THAT FIXED IT BACK AFTER IT WAS WRECKED SAID EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. ALL THREE TIMES WE WERE ACCELERATING AND HAD TO STOP ABRUPTLY. MY WIFE WRECKED IT ONCE AND I TWICE. THE SECOND TIME I WRECKED IT WAS NOT 24 HOURS AFTER I GOT IT BACK FROM THE BODY SHOP AFTER MY WIFE WRECKED IT. SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG BUT IT WORKS MOST OF THE TIME.
UPON TURNING OFF THE IGNITION THE STARTER KICKED ON AND WOULDN'T STOP. GOT TRUCK OUT OF GARAGE. IT DIED IN THE DRIVEWAY. SAW SMOKE AND SPARKS. OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW A SMALL FIRE UNDER THE ENGINE BLOCK. CALLED FD BUT HAD IT OUT BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BRAKE FLUID WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS, BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT A SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THIS OCCURRED ON A RAINY HOT DAY SOUTHBOUND TOWARDS CAPE COD. I WAS DRIVING MY SECOND 2013 FORD F150, BOTH OF WHICH HAVE THE ECOBOOST ENGINE. I ATTEMPTED TO PASS ON A TWO LANE ROAD, AND UPON ACCELERATION THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUTTER, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE LOST MOST OF ITS POWER, AND VEHICLE SLOWED DRAMATICALLY. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 SECONDS THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RETURN TO A NORMAL OPERATING MODE. HAD THERE BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I WOULD NOT BE WRITING THIS. AS I SAID, THIS IS MY SECOND ECOBOOST, AND I THOUGHT THAT FORD WOULD HAVE FIXED WHAT IS CLEARLY A POTENTIALLY FATAL FLAW WITH THIS ENGINE. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE OCCUR TWICE BEFORE IN MY PRIOR ECOBOOST F150. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A DEALER TODAY FOR ANOTHER MINOR ISSUE AND ASKED THAT THE ECOBOOST ISSUE BE ADDRESSED, BUT THAT REQUEST WAS REJECTED BY THE DEALER, WHOM SIGHTED FORD POLICY. CLEARLY THERE IS A PATTERN OF FAILURE ON THESE ENGINES, AND JUST AS CLEAR IT APPEARS THERE IS AN EFFECTIVE AND ECONOMICAL FIX, BASED ON MY PERSONAL RESEARCH OF AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON LINE. IT IS UNEXPLAINABLE WHY FORD WOULD NOT GET IN FRONT OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE THERE IS A FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR
THERE WAS A CLUNKING NOISE AND THEN GRINDING NOISES, PARTICULARLY LOUD WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. I STOPPED AT THE NEAREST TIRE/BRAKE CENTER (TIRES PLUS, 2975 UNIVERSITY PKWY, SARASOTA FL). THEY FOUND THAT THE FRONT RIGHT BRAKE CALIPER BOLTS WERE COMPLETELY MISSING AND THE INSIDE OF WHEEL WAS GROOVED WHERE IT HAD BEEN RUBBING AGAINST THE BOLT BEFORE IT BROKE OFF. THEY ADVISED TAKING IT TO FORD, WHICH I DID. FORD KEPT THE CAR AND FIXED THE CALIPER AND REPLACED THE WHEEL WITH A NEW WHEEL, BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY EXPLANATION FOR HOW BOLTS COULD WORK LOOSE. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 50 MILES PER HOUR, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ME PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED, THEN THE VEHICLE START TO SHUDDER REAL BAD. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT, AND THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED FOR ABOUT A WEEK, THEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN WITH THE SAME EFFECTS. *TR
ON THIRD DAY OF OWNERSHIP THE BRAKES FAILED AND CAUSED 6000.00 DAMAGE. WHILE PARKING ON THE 4 TH LEVEL OF A PARKING GARAGE @ 10 MPH DID A U TURN TO BACK INTO A PARKING PLACE; THE BRAKES FAILED TO THE FLOOR AND THE THE TRUCK SURGED FORWARD AND HIT A CONCRETE WALL CAUSING 6000.00 FRONT EN DAMAGE . FORD WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,200.
LOUD SCREECHING. TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO FORD. MY CALIPERS MAY BE CALIBRATED INCORRECTLY. THE WHEELS WERE TAKEN OFF AND THE DRIVERS SIDE BRAKES WERE ENGRAVED DUE TO THE METAL ON METAL BRAKING. MY FINGER WOULD BE ABLE TO FIT INTO THE DEEP ENGRAVED SCRATCH ON THAT BRAKE. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT THE SAME BUT THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN SOON IF IT'S NOT TAKEN CARE OF QUICKLY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE BRAKES, BRAKE PAD AND ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY RUINED. TO MY AMAZEMENT THE DASH BOARD CONTROLS STATE THAT MY BRAKES ARE FINE. MY MECHANIC SAID THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND NEEDS TO BE SEEN BY FORD. *TR
DRIVING IN RAINY CONDITIONS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE MY TRUCK STARTED TO LOSE POWER, SHAKING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH. AFTER GETTING OUT OF TRAFFIC TO PULL OVER CALLED MY WIFE TO BRING ME MY O.B.D HAND HELD FOUND THAT I HAD CODES P0300, P0304, P0305 AND P0306 WHICH IS FOR CYLINDERS MISFIRING . THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC CONDITION IT COULD EASILY CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT, DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE YA'LL TAKE ACTION. MY TRUCK IS AT KENLY FORD IN KENLY NORTH CAROLINA AND LIKE THE FIRST TIME THEY PLAY IT OFF LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT AND THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING QUIT WORKING WHEN DRIVING. *TR
I REPLACED MY BREAKS (ALL OF THEM FRONT AND REAR) IN AUGUST OF 2014. NOT EVEN ONE YEAR OF OWNING THE VEHICLE AND ONLY ABOUT 13,000 MILES. THEY WOULD SHUDDER AND SHAKE WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. FORD TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IT AS "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR." FAST FORWARD, JULY OF 2015. THE BREAKS ARE DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. SHUDDERING AND SHAKING. I AGAIN TAKE IT INTO FORD, AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THE ROTORS ARE CRACKED AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THEM. WITHIN A YEAR AND NOW AT ONLY 27,000 MILES. THEY ASKED ME IF I TOW A LOT OR HEAVY ITEMS. I TOLD THEM I HAVE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING AND ONLY DRIVE THE VEHICLE 3 DAYS PER WEEK. FORD HAD NO EXPLANATION OF HOW IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED; HOWEVER, AGAIN IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. BREAKS/ROTERS ARE NOT COVERED! AT 13,000 AND AT 27,000 THERE IS NO REASON ANY BREAKS OR ROTERS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I OWNED A 2002 FORD F-150 AND DID NOT NEED BREAKS UNTIL 70,000 MILES. THERE IS A PROBLEM!
THIS BRAND NEW TRUCK IS MISFIRING. WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING I WAS TOLD THAT FORD IS STILL INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM BUT HAS NOT EVEN REACHED OUT THE CUSTOMERS WHO JUST PAID ALL THIS MONEY FOR THESE TRUCKS LIKE ME AT A SUM OF 50,000.00. I'M TOLD THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2011 WHEN THE ECOBOOST ENGINE WAS INTRODUCED. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FORD! SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS ECOBOOST ENGINE AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME YOU DIDN'T KNOW OF THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE CONTINUING TO SELL THESE TRUCKS TO PEOPLE. I THOUGHT YOU WERE BETTER THAN CHEVROLET BUT I'M STARTING TO FEEL DIFFERENTLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DECLINED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO HUMIDITY AND MOISTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REARVIEW MIRROR DID NOT PROVIDE PROPER VISIBILITY WHEN HAULING A TRAILER. THE MIRROR INDICATED THAT OBJECTS WERE AT A GREATER DISTANCE WHEN IN REALITY THE OBJECTS WERE CLOSER. THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,500.
SEAT BELT LATCH FAILED, CAME APART ON IMPACT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND THE DASH FLASHED POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT. THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES THAT DAY AND EACH TIME IF I STOPPED AND TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTART IT WOULD BE FINE. THIS HAPPENED RANDOMLY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ACT LIKE THEY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BUT REFUSE TO TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT. THE SAY THE RACK IS OUT. THE 2014 HAS A PROBLEM FOR THIS AND IS UNDER A RECALL BUT THE 2013 THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS REFUSING TO PAY. SOUNDS LIKE FORD KNOW ABOUT THIS BUT ARE TRYING TO COVER IT UP. THE DEALER SHIP SAID IT MUST BE A BIG DEAL ID THEY WANT THE CORE BACK AFTER REPLACING THE RACK. *TR
BAD STEERING VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY INDICATED WARPED ROTORS THAT HAD TO BE MACHINED BACK TO PROPER SURFACE - ALREADY!. VEHICLE IS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD, ONLY APPROX. 15K MILES. HAVE NOTICED ONLINE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY CONCERN WITH FORD USING SUB-STANDARD BRAKE ROTOR MATERIALS. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD DRIFT TO THE LEFT - DEALER INDICATED ALIGNMENT ISSUE, BUT REQUIRED $450 ADDITIONAL KIT IN ORDER TO ALLOW FOR ADJUSTMENT SINCE IT WAS ALREADY AT PEAK OF SPECS (VEHICLE HAS NEVER HAD ALIGNMENT SINCE IT WAS NEW, VEHICLE HAS NEVER HAD AN INCIDENT THAT WOULD CAUSE MISALIGNMENT). VEHICLE SEEMS UNSAFE WITH THESE ISSUES AND NOW THAT THE ROTORS ARE 'THINNER' DUE TO THE RESURFACING, THE WARPING WILL LIKELY OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY UNTIL THEY (AND OTHER BRAKE PARTS AND/OR SUSPENSION AND STEERING PARTS) NEED TO BE REPLACED. WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED AND THE FLUID WAS PUMPED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND CONTAMINATED THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM.

AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A VEHICLE THE MOTOR IN MY TRUCK STARTED TO MISS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON AND OFF AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE MOTOR PROCEEDED TO IDLE EVEN THOUGH I WAS PUSHING IN THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER ABOUT 15 SECONDS OF NO RESPONSE TO THE GAS PEDAL BEING PUSHED THE ENTIRE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING AS THOUGH IT WAS ABOUT TO FALL APART. ANOTHER 30 SECONDS LATER AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL. I BOUGHT A 2013 F-150 WITH 7 MILES ON IN 8/2013. AT 22,000 MILE THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS BALD. BOTH REAR TIRES WAS BALD IN THE CENTER. FORD SERVICE ADVISER AND THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE F150 TRUCKS WHERE "EATING THE TIRES OFF". THE DEALER SHIP GOT ME A CREDIT TOWARDS NEW TIRES BUT ALTHOUGH THESE WHERE FACTORY INSTALLED THEY SAID 50% WAS THE BEST THEY COULD KNOCK OFF THE PRICE. MY ALIGNMENT WAS OFF ON THE FRONT BY .01 DEGREES AND THEY SAID THEY HAD VERIFIED TIRE ROTATION HAD OCCURRED THAT IT WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE TIRE CAUSED BY THE TRUCK. *TR

ON SLOW TAKE OFF THE TRUCK HAS A VIBRATION UP TO 5 MPH. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING BEING TOWED BEHIND IT. *TR

KNOCKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING ON SMOOTH ROADS, FELT MOSTLY DURING WARMER TEMPERATURES ABOVE 80 DEGREES F. MOST NOTICEABLE ABOVE 95 DEGREES F WHEN DRIVING ON FLAT ROADS THAT REQUIRE NO COUNTER STEERING TO MAINTAIN THE LANE. TAKEN IT TO FORD TWICE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD ONCE THAT THE KNOCK COULD NOT BE FELT, SECOND VISIT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER THE SERVICE MANAGER FELT THE PROBLEM BUT THE FRONT END TECHNICIAN STATED IT IS NORMAL ROAD FEEL. BOTH FRONT TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE OUTER TWO TREADS AS IF THE FRONT END NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT BUT BOTH DEALERSHIPS HAVE CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT STATING IT IS GOOD. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS TRUCK, THE SAME HIGH TEMPERATURES ALSO CAUSE THE TRUCK TO BE VERY SENSITIVE THE CROSSWINDS AND PASSING VEHICLES. MY 2013 FORD F150 XLT BEGAN FLASHING A WARNING SAYING SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. THEN IT IMMEDIATELY BEGINS FLASHING SHIFT TO PARK. THE TRUCK THEN BEGINS TO DOWNSHIFT CAUSING A RAPID SLOWING OF THE TRUCK.. IT HAS DONE IT AGAIN AND ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WOULD NOT REBOOT AND LEFT ME STRANDED FOR A LONG TIME. WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON I95 AT 75MPH DURING HOLIDAY TRAFFIC AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WE LITERALLY THOUGHT WE WOULD BE KILLED BECAUSE CARS HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES TO AVOID OUR DISABLED CAR. I PAID $42K FOR THIS VEHICLE AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN PUT ANYTHING INTO THE BED TO TO UNSAFE STARTS THAT ARE GOING TO LEAVE ME STRANDED. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE COMPUTER TRIES TO COMPENSATE FOR THE VIBRATIONS AND STARTS TO LOWER POWER CAUSING IT TO NOT GO WHICH IS DANGEROUS IN LEFT HAND TURN SITUATIONS.
