The feul pump fuse holder melts and the car dies instantly. This is very dangerous if you where merging into traffic or on a major interstate traveling at speed. Also leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere at freezing temps or scorching temps and you have no cell service. This should be a immediate recall before people are injured or killed.
On vehicles equipped the R680 six speed transmission, the oil lines break off at the Quick Disconnect to the transmission oil cooler due to metal fatigue. When this happens, it causes 14 quarts of automatic transmission fluid to be pumped out onto the roadway from the front of the vehicle and on the tires and roadway. Several things can happen when this happens. 1. Loss of control resulting in a crash. 2. Vehicle stopping on roadway and unable to continue. 3. Roadway gets covered with oil may cause other vehicles to crash. 4. Enviornmental issues. I am reporting this because it is a problem that is common and should be addressed. The problem is well documented on the internet and YouTube. (Ford F150 Transmission Cooler Lines Breaking.) In my case the line snaped off when I was in my driveway. Very lucky.
Truck would crank but not start. Had towed to dealership and they found fuse 27 was melted. Was informed that this was a known design flaw. The fuse was relocated to slot 70. Car did not but could have caught fire causing catastrophic damage and injuries to myself or others.
Pickup would crank but not start. Fuel pump fuse melted. This should be a recall. This left me stranded 350 miles form home for a 10 dollar fix.
For about 1 year, the fuel remaining has been drastically uncertain. The standard dash gauge; the secondary instrument indicating gallons / miles remaining till empty; and the tertiary warning light indicating low fuel, are totally unreliable. Example: “5 miles to Empty” is actually approximately 15 gallons remaining. Very recent, the tertary warning light has stopped functioning altogether. This may indicate an electrical short or other fault in the fuel tank / system. With a capacity of about 35 gallons, I could easily miscalculate fuel used and end up stranded in the middle of nowhere or in a dangerous part of a city.
I was driving my truck in north Georgia while towing a trailer under 5000 lbs. The truck was in cruis control at 68 mph and the truck suddenly down shifted from 5th to 1st. I got the truck off the interstate at a reduced speed since it wouldn't shift up. When this happened an orange wrench light came on. When I stopped I turned the truck off and the light went away. We fueled up and got on the road. Shortly after the truck did the same thing with dropping to first gear and felt like it lost power steering. We pulled over and detached the trailer. I then got back on the road and after getting off the interstate and to slower roads the truck did the same thing. Every time the truck did this it reset the lights on the dash. The truck then sat for 5 days with out being driven. On my way home the check engine light came on. On Sunday June 12th the truck was dropped off at banner ford in Mandeville louisiana. The mechanic advised that while the truck acted like the lead frame recall issues they will not do anything unless I can prove the truck did this. The proof is they need to have a code show up. However, every time it did this the wrench light went away when the truck was restarted. I was told by Ford that when this happens I need to drive the truck straight to dealer without turning it off. Since the dealer said they couldn't do anything I called the 1 866 Ford number. The CAS # with Ford is attached to this. There has been poor communication with ford toe through this. The dealer told Ford that I picked the truck up earlier this week but in reality I picked it up today because the dealer called me yesterday. The ford apparently the dealer mechanic never communicated with Fords mechanic to resolve my issue and told them I got my truck sooner.
WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE BUSY STREET, MY TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING. IT WOULD NOT RE-START. IT HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS, WOULD CRANK OVER BUT NOT START. I HAD IT FLAT TOWED TO MY HOME. IT WAS DETERMINED TO NOT BE GETTING GAS. I FOUND A TSB ON THE PROBLEM AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR FROM FORD. FUSE #27 WAS TOO SMALL TO HANDLE THE CURRENT FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS COULD OF BEEN MORE DANGEROUS IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED FOMOCO AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. DOES FORD HAVE ANY LIABILITY ?
GOES INTO LIMP MODE AT INTERSECTION VERY DANGEROUS THROTTLE BODY

THIS IS RELATED TO TSB 15-0137. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE HAS NOT FAILED YET, MANY HAVE. MY FUSE #27 SHOWS SIGNS OF MELTING AND I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A LARGER FUSE AND HEAVIER GAUGE WIRE AT A COST OF ABOUT $150 (INCLUDING LABOR). IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS TRUCK WITH HORSES IN TOW. ON SEVERAL FORUMS I HAVE READ THAT THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DUE TO FAILURE OF THE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES, WHICH IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH A 120 POUND 20 YEAR OLD AT THE HELM WITH A HORSE TRAILER! THE TRUCK HAS JUST OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A KNOWN FORD DEFECT THAT CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE, AND FORD SHOULD BE PAYING THIS COST SO THAT THERE IS NO FINANCIAL IMPEDIMENT TO SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN ITS PLANNED USEFUL LIFE.
WRENCH (CHECK ENGINE) COMES ON FOR UNKNOWN REASON AND VEHICLE LOOSES ALL THROTTLE ABILITY! HAS COME ON 7 TIMES. HAS OCCURRED DRIVING AT 25 UP TO 65 MPH. TODAY I WAS IN THE FAST LANE WRENCH CAME ON AND SHUT DOWN THROTTLE. I MANAGED TO CROSS 3 LANES IN TRAFFIC. EACH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED I'VE STOPPED AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE RESTARTED & RUNS FINE. TAKEN TO FORD AS WELL AS PRIVATE MECHANICS BUT NO CODES SAVED. HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES. FORD TOLD ME THEY CANT FIX WITHOUT A CODE.
FUSE #27 BURNT UP AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THAT FUSE CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED IN TSB 15-0137. INCREDIBLE TO BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING THIS SIMPLE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR DRIVER SAFETY. VEHICLE LUCKILY WAS NOT IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED. THIS MOST LIKELY WOULD NOT BE AN ITEM LOCATED IN A VIHICLE INCIDENT....SO THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY DEATHS THIS HAS CAUSED.
UPON EXCELLARATION AND WHILE CRUISING AT HIGHER SPEED'S MY VEHICLE WILL DOWN SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY FROM 6TH GEAR TO THIRD GEAR CAUSING MY REAR WHEELS TO LOCK. I RECEIVE A WRENCH SIGN ON THE DISPLAY THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING, THE DRIVERS AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE STAYS IN THIS GEAR UNTIL I STOP AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON. ALSO AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT ON IT'S OWN WHILE DRIVING A CONSTANT SPEED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 4TH GEAR, TO 5TH GEAR AND BACK TO 6TH ALL WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED.

WHILE TRAVELING ON I70 IN COLORADO AND TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS A THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE LEARNED THIS PROBLEM IS FAIRLY COMMON WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE AND HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY RESOLVED LEAVING THOSE DRIVING THESE VEHICLES IN DANGER.
JUST OUTSIDE OF 60.000 MI WARRANTY TRUCK THREW A CODE P2112. PAYING FOR IT OUT OF POCKET I BOUGHT NEW TAC UNIT AND INSTALLED AND CLEARED CODE TRUCK RAN FINE UP TILL 144.OOO MI .THEN BEGAN CLATTERING UPON 1ST START UP AFTER SITTING SEVERAL HOURS .THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED NEW TIMING SET AND TENSIONER. I BOUGHT AND INSTALLED AND REPLACED ALL TIMING COMPONANTS. TRUCK ALSO BEGAN SHOWING CODES P2112 AGAIN AND WILL ONLY CUT OUT WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND UNDER A LOAD ..CYLCLE KEY AND WILL START AND DRIVE A BLOCK AND REPEAT ONLY THIS TIME IT THROWS THE P2112 CODE AND AS LONG AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THE TRUCK WONT STALL AS BEFORE.
THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS. I HAVE 2015 F-150 ECOBOOST AND FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 14 MONTHS HAVE HAD TO HAVE MY THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. THE ENGINE DIES WHILE ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY TYPICALLY BETWEEN 55-70MPH AND THE WRENCH COMES ON. I HAVE THE COAST THE CAR OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AVOIDING SPEEDING TRAFFICE, BRING THE CAR TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND THEN TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT WORKS. I'VE HAD IT HAPPY AS MANY AS 19 TIMES ON ONE TRIP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND HESITATED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THERE WAS ALSO A SHIFTING DELAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOU FUSZ FORD (2 CAPRICE DR, CHESTERFIELD, MO), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE FUEL FILLER NECK WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED FUEL TO SPILL OUT WHEN REFUELING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
DUE TO THROTTLE BODY FAILURE, THE TRUCK HAS GONE INTO A "LIMP" MODE SEVERAL TIMES. NEEDLESS TO SAY FOR THE TRUCK TO SUDDENLY STOP ACCELERATING WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN COULD BE DEADLY. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DEAD BECAUSE OF THIS AND WERE NOT ABLE TO TELL ANYONE THE ACCIDENT WAS DUE TO THE FAILURE AND NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR DRIVING. NOT SURE I WANT MY WIFE OR KIDS TO DRIVE ANYTHING MADE WITH FORD'S THROTTLE BODY DESIGN. I SEE THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03 TO FIX THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS INSTEAD OF A RECALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS CUSTOMER IS NOT SATISFIED.
