WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A LOUD POP. SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT AND BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED . DIDN'T LOOK LIKE ANYTHING HIT IT.
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE AND IT WAS APPROX 40 DEGREES OUTSIDED. STARTED TRUCK USING REMOTE START, WHEN I INSERTED KEY INTO IGNITION AND TURNED VEHICLE ON TO DRIVE THERE WAS A LOUD BANG OR POP FROM THE REAR OF CAB. I GOT OUT OF VEHICLE TO LOOK AROUND AND FOUND REAR SLIDING WINDOW WAS SHATTERED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, WITH NO EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING HITTING THE GLASS, OBVIOUSLY SINCE IT WAS IN A GARAGE. I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS WEBSITES WITH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE HAPPENING ON 2010-2014 F150 TRUCKS. I THEN DROVE IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR REAPAIRS/REPLACEMENT. THEY CAN NOT EXPLAIN HOW OR WHY IT HAPPENED, AGREED THAT IT WAS OBVIOUS NOTHING STRUCK THE WINDOW CAUSING IT TO SHATTER. THEY'VE ALSO INFORMED ME FORD IS NOT WILLING TO COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY? I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY VEHICLES HAVE TO BE AFFECTED BY THIS IDENTICAL ISSUE BEFORE A RECALL OR TSB IS ISSUED? THIS IS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH FORD'S REAR WINDOWS AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM IF SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, INJURING CHILDREN IN BACK SEAT, ETC.. IT'S BEEN A WEEK NOW AND I'M STILL GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM FORD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE GARAGE, THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING ABILITY. THE CONTACT ROCKED THE VEHICLE BACK AND FORTH AND THE STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR OTHER TIMES, BUT THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TT*JB
REMOTE STARTED 2014 FORD F-150. REAR WINDOW HEATER WAS ON DUE TO DEW ON REAR WINDOW. OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATE WAS 42 DEGREES F. TRUCK WAS RUNNING OUTSIDE FOR 5 MINUTES. LOADED 2 CHILDREN UP AND DROVE 30 SECONDS WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVE'RS WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY CRACKED. SMALL GLASS PARTICLES WERE NOTICED. WINDOW FRAME WAS VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH AND VISIBILITY WAS GREATLY REDUCED. THIS APPEARS TO BE EITHER A DEFECT OF THE HEATING ELEMENT, CONTROLLER, OR WINDOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK ONTO THE DRIVEWAY, INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE BRAKE LINES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000. *DT*JB
THE POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IN ALL FOUR DOORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN A PERIOD OF TWO MONTHS. WHEN THE ACTUATORS FAILS, THE DOOR WILL NO LONGER LOCK/UNLOCK WITH KEYLESS REMOTE OR BY USING THE INSIDE BUTTON TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. ONLY THE DRIVER DOOR HAS A KEY HOLE, SO WHEN THE OTHER RDOOR ARE NOT WORKING, THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR IS FROM THE INSIDE. OCCASIONALLY WHILE THE DOOR ACTUATORS IS NOT WORKING, THE DOOR IS DIFFICULT TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AS IF THE LOCK IS DIFFICULT TO UNLOCK. THE ONLY REPAIR TO FIX THE ACTUATORS IS BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. I WORRY THE DOOR WOULD BECOME INOPERABLE AND UNABLE TO OPEN SOMEONE COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE. ANOTHER CONCERN IS VEHICLE THEFT DUE TO THE DOOR NOT LOOKING AS ASSUMED WHEN PRESSING THE BUTTON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE REAR DEFROSTER FAILED TO OPERATE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (AMATO FORD, 1510 MAIN ST, MUKWONAGON, WI) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO S*OLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. *TT*JB
REAR SLIDER WINDOW IS THE ISSUE. AFTER STARTING MY TRUCK, WHILE SITTING INSIDE I TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROST. WITHIN MINUTES WHILE SITTING STATIONARY THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW PANE SHATTERED. VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY BUT FORD WILL NOT COVER. THIS IMPEDES MY VIEW OF THE ROAD AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AS IT COULD CAUSE A DRIVER TO STARTLE AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT.
PARKED IN A PARKING LOT IN A SUBURBAN AREA BUT IN AN ISOLATED PART OF THE LOT HAVE A SUPER CAN WITH SUICIDE DOORS, WAS ABLE TO GET IN THE BACK SEAT AND CLOSE ALL DOORS. FRONT CONSOLE WAS UP. THERE WAS NO EXIT AND I HAD NO COMMUNICATION DEVISE SUCH AS A CELL PHONE. AFTER COMBING THE BACK SEAT AREA FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES I HAPPENED TO SEE THE FRONT CONSOLE LEVER AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT DOWN AND REACH FRONT DOOR HANDLE.. IT WAS A 100 DEGREE DAY AND HAD THIS NOT HAPPENED AT APPROX 10PM I MAY HAVE DIED. I COULD NOT REACH THE MANUAL BUT THERE WAS NOTHING CONCERNING THE DOORS WHEN I EVENTUALLY WAS ABLE TO READ IT. FORD COMPLAINT WAS MADE NOVEMBER 2,2018, WAS TOLD TO CONTACT DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECOURSE AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO RECTIFY ISSUE
WHEN I AM DRIVING,AND I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE(PRESS GAS PEDAL) THE ENGINE LOSES POWER. I THEN HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP AND PUT VEHICLE IN PARK,TURN ENGINE OFF AND RESTART, AND DRIVE ON. SOMETIMES IT DOES IT AGAIN.SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. IT'S DOES IT WHEN I'M ON ROAD WAYS. DANGEROUS IT HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC.
I TOOK MY 2014 F-150 IN FOR A STANDARD OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION ONLY TO BE TOLD AT THE END OF THE DAY THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN AND THAT FORD COULD NOT TAKE THEM OFF UNLESS I PURCHASED NEW LUG NUTS. FURTHERMORE, THE FORD TECHNICIAN ADVISED NOT BUYING LUG NUTS FROM FORD AS THEY WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AGAIN. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION TO ASSIST IN THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS A NORMAL TIRE IRON WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE CURRENT LUG NUTS OFF AND COULD LEAVE MY FAMILY STRANDED WITHOUT ANY OPTIONS IN THE EVENT OF A FLAT TIRE.
THIS MORNING, I GOT IN MY TRUCK AND STARTED IT. AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE, LESS THEN 1 MINUTE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, I HEARD A HUGE POP IN MY BACKSEAT. I LOOK BACK, THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW JUST SHATTERED. I GOT OUT AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK PICTURES, SEE BELOW, AND CHECKED FOR ANY IMPACTS AND THERE WERE NONE. MY WINDOW LITERALLY SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. I AM TAKING IT TO FORD THIS AFTERNOON AFTER WORK.
LEFT MOST REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. I USED THE REMOTE START TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MIN TO WARM IT UP THEN AS I GOT IN I SAT THERE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THE REAR GLASS SHATTERED. AFTER THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL IN THE TRUCK. I NOTICED BURN MARKS ON THE PLASTIC HOUSING SURROUNDING THE GLASS. TRUCK WAS STATIONARY AND NOT A SINGLE PERSON WAS AROUND ME SO I KNEW AN OBJECT DIDN'T HIT IT UNLESS IT WAS A METEORITE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THOUSANDS OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS HAS TO BE RECALLED FOR SAFETY. I WORK AT THE FORD PLANT IN BUFFALO AND THEY NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS. I SHOULDN'T BE PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET FOR THESE FAULTY DEFROSTERS.
I'M HAVING TWO ISSUES WITH THE DRIVE TRAIN OF MY 2014 F150. FIRST IS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. ITS AS IF THE DRIVESHAFT IS MISSING A TOOTH AND DOESN'T TURN WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT HESITATES THEN CATCHES AND YOU HEAR A THUD LIKE METAL HITTING METAL. THE OTHER ISSUE IS FAR MORE SERIOUS. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY I BEGAN ACCELERATING TO CHANGE LANES. AS I CHANGED LANES AND PUT MY FOOT DOWN, THE TRUCK ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO ACCELERATE OR DOWNSHIFT AND ACCELERATE, BUT THEN DID NEITHER. IT WAS LIKE THE GAS PEDDLE WAS DEAD. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDDLE, THEN RE-APPLIED AND IT WAS FINE. I HOWEVER WAS ALMOST REENDED. I'VE SEEN BOTH OF THESE ISSUES BY SEVERAL FOLKS ON NHTSA WEBSITE AND OTHER SITES ASSOCIATED.
USED THE AUTO START FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE. TRUCK WAS RUNNING FOR ABOUT 4 MINUTES, WHEN I GOT IN. WHILE STILL STATIONARY, WITHIN A MINUTE I HEARD A LOUD POP. GOT OUT AND LOOKED AROUND, AND NOTICED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. THIS WAS AT 5:30 AM IT WAS 53 DEGREES F AND WET FROM PREVIOUS RAIN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH AND TOWING A 2012 KZ SPORTSMAN TRAVEL TRAILER, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER (ED CORLEY FORD, 1870 W SANTA FE AVE, GRANTS, NM 87020, (505) 285-4695) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A FUSE WAS DAMAGED, THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND A NEW RELOCATION KIT NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER,THE FAILURE RECURRED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND TOWING A 2012 KZ SPORTSMAN TRAVEL TRAILER, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MOJAVE AUTO GROUP (1010 W. MAIN ST., BARSTOW, CA 92311, 760-256-2241) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL DUE TO BEING STRANDED IN AN UNSAFE LOCATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-16131250. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE RESOLUTION OF THE REPAIRS WOULD HAVE TO MADE WITH THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT COME UP ON MY DASHBOARD AND MY POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK. WHILE MOST VEHICLES CAN BE DRIVEN WITHOUT POWER STEERING BUT THIS TRUCK IS NOT DRIVABLE WITHOUT THAT FEATURE. THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS DO NOT WORK. THESE FAULTS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND CRASHED. I'M LUCKY I DIDN'T HIT AND KILL SOMEBODY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR WHICH AFFORD ALREADY KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO FIX OUR TRUCK.
PULLED THE TRUCK OUT OF THE GARAGE TO WARM UP. IT WAS ABOUT 35 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. AND WHEN I GOT OUT INTO THE COLD AIR, THE REAR CAB WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO IMPACT FROM ANYTHING, JUST SIMPLY THE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE WAS ENOUGH TO SHATTER THE GLASS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOWNSEND SALES & SERVICE (340 MAIN ST, TOWNSEND, MA 01469, 978-597-8955), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
MY TRUCK WILL DOWNSHIFT FROM 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR WHILE OPERATING VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN GOING AS FAST AS 50 MPH AND WITH OUT WARNING TRUCK WILL GO FROM 5TH TO 1ST GEAR. IT WILL CAUSE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP AND BECOMES HARD TO CONTROL. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW.
TRUCK DOWN SHIFTS WHILE DRIVING. MY PREGNANT WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING 70 MPH ON HIGHWAY, WHEN TRUCK DOWN SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR AND NEARLY CAUSED US TO SLIDE OFF ROAD IN THE RAIN. FORD JUST RECALLED 2011-2013 FOR SAME PROBLEM! THEY NEED TO RECALL 2014 AS WELL! MY TRUCK WAS FIXED AT FORD DEALERSHIP.
AT 61,000 MILES, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY MASTER CYLINDER SUFFERED A SUDDEN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE (TOTAL BRAKE FLUID LEAK). THIS RESULTED IN REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF ENTIRE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM AT DEALERSHIP.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. WHILE ACCELERATING UP A HILL TRAVELING ABOUT 45MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND WENT INTO "LIMP HOME" MODE. FORTUNATELY I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO MAKE IT TO A SIDE ROAD AS THE COUNTRY ROAD HAD NO SHOULDERS. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING, EVERYTHING RAN NORMALLY AGAIN. POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ONLINE SEARCH POINTS TO POSSIBLE ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY.
WHILE TURNING TO THE LEFT I HEARD A SEQUELCHING NOISE. I THEN GOT A MESSAGE TO SERVICE MY ACUTRACTION SYSTEM. I WOULD TURN MY TRUCK OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT WOULD RESET AND GO OFF. THIS TOOK PLACE FOR A FEW DAYS. WHILE MESSAGE WAS ON THE LEVER FOR MY TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT STAY ACTIVATED. TODAY (9/25/2018) I GOT THE MESSAGE AGAIN. THIS TIME I ALSO GOT A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE AND IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. TRUCK ONLY HAD 66,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE GOT RID OF TRUCK BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE ALSO HAD A FAULT IN THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE.
WHILE TURNING LEFT IT STARTED MAKING AN AWFUL NOISE THEN POPPED UP WITH STEERING ASSIST FAULT ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER

THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS NOT PROVIDED. LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST CAUSING YOU TO OVER STEER OR UNDER STEER ESPECIALLY WHEN COMING OUT OF A TURN. MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE ARE POSTED ON VARIOUS INTERNET SITES. PARTIAL RECALL OF EPAS UNIT FOR CERTAIN VIN. MY VEHICLE MANUFACTURE DATE IS AUGUST 22, 2014 PER FORD CUSTOMER CARE. MANFACTURE DATE IS JUST WEEKS AFTER RECALL LOT OF IDENTIFIED VEHICLES. VEHICLE CANNOT BE SAFELY DRIVEN
FIRST RECEIVED ADVANCE TRAC WARNING, THEN HILL DESCENT WARNING AND THEN POWER STEERING FAILURE INDICATION. POWER STEERING FAILURE WAS SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN IN MOTION DOING A TURN, DUE TO ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM LOCK UP WHICH PREVENTED THE FRONT WHEELS FROM TURNING AS MUCH AS EXPECTED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS UNEXPECTED CONDITION AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES OR WORSE IF OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS!
WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM STOPPED. WHEN THE DRIVER WENT TO APPLY HIS BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND HE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE BRAKES. HE WAS ABLE TO AVOID COLLISION BY PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED. IT WAS DETERMINED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. ALTHOUGH WE HAVE SEVERAL OTHER 2014 F-150S THAT WERE INCLUDED IN RECALL 16S24, THIS ONE, WE WERE TOLD, WAS NOT. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
HAD TO REPAIR THE "LEAD MOLDED FRAME & GASKET" ! TRUCK WOULD JUMP THREW GEARS WHILE MOVING AT ANY SPEED. THE BRAKES SUDDENLY WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I LEARNED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THERE IS NO WARNING AND IT HAPPENS SUDDENLY. IN RESEARCHING THIS, I LEARNED THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF FORD F150S THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
ETB. WE LOST POWER ON ARE 2014 F 150 ECO BOOST DOING 50 PLUS MILES AN HOUR .. OUT OF NO WHERE IT STARTED TO NOT ACCELERATE AND JUST SHUT DOWN . CHECK ENGINE POPPED ON WE MANAGED TO MOVE TO THE SIDE . IT STARTED UP AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON . IT DROVE TO NEAREST SHOP TO HAVE CODE CHECKED THEY SAID OH ITS THE ETB.. THAT'S RECALLED. SO WE EXPLORED AND RESEARCHING WHY IT'S NOT ON RECALL. WE WERE ABOUT A MOMENT AWAY FROM BEING SLAMMED INTO THE CONCRETE MEDIUM FROM BEHIND.
THE CONNECTOR THAT PLUGS INTO THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS LOOSE AND GETS HOT CAUSING THE CONNECTION TO BE LOST IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS CONNECTOR. WAS AT WENDY'S DRIVE THROUGH AFTER GROCERY SHOPPING AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THOUGHT BRAKE FLUID WAS JUST LOW. BY THE TIME I WAS ALMOST HOME MAYBE 2-3 MILES AWAY I HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. WHEN TRAVELING AROUND 50 MILES AN HOUR AND YOU REALIZE YOU HAVE NO BRAKES IT'S A VERY SCARY SITUATION. I WAS ABLE TO GET TRUCK STOPPED BUT WASN'T SURE IF IT ACTUALLY WOULD. PER LOOKING ONLINE OTHER PEOPLE WITH SAME MODEL FORD TRUCKS HAVE EXPERIENCED SAME EXACT ISSUE WHERE BRAKE FLUID LEAKS FROM MASTER CYLINDER INTO BRAKE BOOSTER CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE. VERY VERY DANGEROUS FORD SHOULD ISSUE RECALL!
HAVING LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH MISFIRES. ENGINE SHAKES AND SHUTTERS DURING IDLE. IF I TRY TO PASS A CAR ON HIGHWAY THE TRUCK WILL GO IINO A SEVERE SHAKE AND THEN WILL NOT ACCELERATE. GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN START BACK UP. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM. MORE PRONOUNCED DURING RAINY DAYS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT FILED A CASE WITH THE MANUFACTURER BECAUSE THE DEALER WAS CHARGING FOR A PORTION OF THE REPAIRS. BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED. RECALL PART ON F150 WITH AN ECO BOOST BUT I HAVE SAME VEHICLE WITH 5.0 ENGINE AND SAME PART FAILED. NEED HELP AS THIS SAFETY PART IS RECALLED ON SOME MODELS.
ON THE MORNING OF AUGUST 10, 2018, I WAS DRIVING WHEN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK. WHEN I VIEWED THE DAMAGE, THE BACK WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED FROM THE INSIDE. LOOKING FROM THE OUTSIDE, THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH AND COMING TO A RED LIGHT. I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDDLE AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THERE WAS A WARNING CHIME AND THE DASH ILLUMINATED A BRAKE SERVICE WARNING AND A LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WARNING. THERE WERE VIRTUALLY NO BRAKES AND I HAD TO DOWN SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION AND USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO COME TO A STOP, JUST IN TIME BEFORE GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION UNDER A RED LIGHT. WE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT ALL OF THE FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THEY SAID THAT OUR TRUCK DID NOT MEET THE PROPER DATE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF UNDER THE KNOWN RECALL (NHTSA RECALL #16V-345, FORD RECALL #16S24) FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THAT RECALL ENDED ON TRUCKS BUILT UP TO 8/14 AND OUR TRUCK WAS BUILT ON 12/14. WE HAD TO HAVE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED UNDER OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH ONLY 22,901 MILES ON OUR TRUCK. THIS WAS A CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE (VIRTUALLY NO BRAKES) WITH ZERO WARNING. IF THERE HAD BEEN TRAFFIC OR IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN GOING ANY FASTER, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BRAKE FAILURE. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE THE EXACT SAME SUB-STANDARD AND DANGEROUS PARTS THAT HAD CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT THIS VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE HAD BEEN ADDRESSED AND THAT REDESIGNED PARTS HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN MY TRUCK. WE FEEL THAT OUR TRUCK NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT WE NEED INFORMATION ON WHAT WAS DONE WITH THIS PROBLEM TO INSURE THAT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
MY SON WAS ONLY TRAVELING STRAIGHT AT A LOW SPEED ON A SIDE STREET WHEN HE WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO STEER HIS TRUCK. HE THEN APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP. HE HAD TO TURN OFF THE TRUCK WAIT A FEW MINUTES THEN TURN IT BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES TO GET HOME. WE CHECKED TO SEE IF THIS MAJOR MANUFACTURING DEFECT WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY OR A RECALL. NO WARRANTY OF COURSE (2014 F150 WITH 53,000 MILES) THE RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS FOR TRUCKS BUILT BETWEEN MAY 26, 2014 AND JUNE 19, 2014 AND OF COURSE MY SON'S WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER 2014. WE ARE TOLD THAT IT WILL COST SOMEWHERE AROUND $2000 TO TRY TO FIX THIS AND MORE THAN LIKELY IT WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL EVEN AFTER BEING "FIXED". YOU CAN PULL THE DRIVER SIDE KNOB UP AFTER YOU ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN WHICH IS LUDACRIS IN MY BOOK I HAVE TO SMALL CHILDREN AND IF WE WERE HAPPEN TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD HATE TO HAVE TO BUST THE WINDOW OUT IF IT WAS SERIOUS.
