WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IN MOTION WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO STUTTER AND LOSE POWER. THE ENGINE ICON STARTED FLASHING. THE ICON WENT AWAY SHORTLY AFTER THIS BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES IN REGARDS TO THE 3.5 ECOBOOST ENGINE DOING THIS.
THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED FOR THE SECOND TIME, IN DRIVEWAY AFTER STARTING CAR WITH REMOTE STARTER. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN DECEMBER 2016, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN A RELATIVES DRIVEWAY HEATING UP, AFTER BEING STARTED WITH THE REMOTE STARTER.
I HAVE AN F150 SUPER CREW CAB WITH A POWER SLIDING WINDOW IN THE BACK THAT IS 3 SEPARATE PIECES OF GLASS. WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH WITH THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST ON, THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW SUDDENLY SHATTERED (STAYED MOSTLY IN TACT BUT SPIDERWEBED THROUGHOUT). IT MADE A LOUD BANG LIKE THE SOUND OF SOMETHING FALLING ON THE ROOF OR A GUNSHOT. THERE IS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND IT IS VERY APARENT THAT THIS WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF EITHER THE WINDOW OR THE REAR DEFROST OVERHEATING. I AM AFRAID THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM IF MY DAUGHTER HAD BEEN IN THE CARSEAT WHICH IS DIRECTLY UNDER IT SINCE SMALL PIECES OF GLASS DID COME OUT. THIS IS A 2014 MODEL WITH APPROXIMATELY 32,000 MILES. THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE IF YOU DO A WEB SEARCH FOR F150S RANGING FROM 2010 TO 2014.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHEN REAR DEFROSTER IS ON. THROWING SMALL SHARDS OF GLASS INTO VEHICLE.
VEHICLE WAS REMOTE STARTED (IN PARK AND UNOCCUPIED) AND WHILE WALKING TO THE VEHICLE HEARD A LOUD POP. WHEN GOT TO THE VEHICLE SAW REAR WINDSHIELD SECTION ON DRIVER'S SIDE HAS EXPLODED/SHATTERED. FROM THE ATTACHED PHOTOS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS NO IMPACT TO THE REAR WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE HAS 31K MILES AND AMBIENT TEMPERATURE WAS 35*.
WHILE TRAVELLING DOWN ANY ROAD THE ELECTRICAL THROTTLE BODY WILL STOP WORKING PUTTING THE TRUCK INTO A "LIMP HOME MODE." FORD HAS DONE A "CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03" FOR PREVIOUS VEHICLES TO THE TONE OF 1.6 MILLION VEHICLES. THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM AT THIS POINT AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V420000 (SEAT BELTS) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR REPAIR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT VISITED THE FORD OWNER'S WEBSITE AND FOUND THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
Major transmission failure that causes sudden unintended downshift to first gear, even at high speeds. This occurs often and randomly without warning, causing the engine to "redline", rear tires to slide and the vehicle to come to a near sudden stop. This is an extreme safety concern, especially in slippery road conditions as the vehicle could overturn or slide off the road or at a minimum be rear-ended for suddenly stopping unexpectedly on a freeway. This is a widely known problem by Ford. The local Ford service manager admitted that his 2013 F150 has the same issue and he continues to drive it because he tried fixing it by replacing the Molded Lead Plate in the transmission and that didn't resolve the problem. Remember, I noted this is a Ford Service Manager! Ford has issued a recall (24S37); however, the prescribed solution is to have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software updated and that prescribed fix actually makes the sudden downshifting happen more often. This is the cheapest, band-aid solution that Ford hides behind so they can say that they are addressing this issue. A second Ford dealership down the road actually admitted that they have identified that the recommended software update actually makes the problem worse and they practically refuses to perform the software update for their customers. After several discussions with Ford's Recall Assistance Team and several discussions with a local dealership's service manager, Ford is not willing to do anything more, despite this major safety issue not only not getting resolved, but actually has gotten worse due to their band-aid approach of a software update. In my case, if further diagnosis is to be performed, I have to be the one that covers that cost and also I would be the one to cover the cost of repairs. To me, this is completely unacceptable. The rational that Ford uses to deny accountability is that the vehicle's computer doesn't register any DTC codes when the incident occurs.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. DASH BUTTON DOES NOT ILLUMINATE NOR DOES THAT BUTTON ON THE TOUCHSCREEN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED. WHEN THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL AT A LOW SPEED ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000. *TT THE CONSUMER STATED THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE IN 2017. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAR FOR THE REPAIR. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT RUNNING TO WARM UP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW (OF THE THREE PART WINDOW) FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WESTFIELD FORD INC. (6200 SOUTH LA GRANGE ROAD, COUNTRYSIDE, IL 60525, (877) 470-0298) WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH ANY REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
I STARTED MY TRUCK THIS MORNING WITH THE AUTOSTART IT RAN ABOUT 10 MINUTES I WENT OUT GOT IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED ON MY WAY TO WORK ABOUT FIVE OR SIX MINUTES INTO IT MY TRIP MY DRIVER SIDE BACK WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE WINDOW IT IS A POWER SLIDING REAR DEFROST WINDOW. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REASON AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED OTHER THEN THE REAR DEFROST IT WAS ABOUT 35 HERE THIS MORNING WITH A HEAVY FROST ON THE GROUND
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE REAR WINDSHIELD FRACTURED AFTER THE REAR DEFROST WAS ENGAGED. ANDERSON FORD IN SAINT JOSEPH, MISSOURI WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO AN AUTO GLASS SPECIALIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
TRUCK WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. REMOTE STARTED, SAT FOR 5 MINUTES IN DRIVEWAY. ENTERED TRUCK AND HEARD A POP. LOOKED IN REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED DRIVERS SIDE PANE OF REAR POWER SLIDING WINDOW HAD SHATTERED, APPARENTLY THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER OVER HEATS THE GLASS AND CAUSES IT TO EXPLODE. HAVING DOME SOME RESEARCH THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MANY F-150 OWNERS FROM 2010 RIGHT UP TO 2015. FORD REFUSES TO REPLACE GLASS. HA THERE BEEN A CHILD IN A REAR FACING CAR SEAT IN THE VEHICLE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY FROM THE SHARDS OF GLASS. THIS IS A WIDE SPRED PROBLEM FROM WHAT MY RESEARCH SHOWS.I IMPLORE THE NHTSA TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE DEFROSTER AND HAVE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABSORB THE COST OF REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF WINDOWS AFFECTED BY DEFECTIVE DEFROSTERS. VEHICLE HAS 30K MILES ON IT, NOT ACCIDENTS, NO NEGLIGENCE BY OWNER
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon the depression of the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would downshift and independently enter limp mode with the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to several independent mechanics where he had the spark plugs, coils, and several other parts replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
2014 F150 HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A LEAD FRAME MALFUNCTION BY A FORD DEALER. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO 1ST OR 2ND GEAR BY ITSELF AND INSTANTLY AND DANGEROUSLY SLOWED THE TRUCK TO 20 OR 30 MPH. HAD TO PULL OVER, TURN TRUCK OFF THEN RESTART TO REGAIN NORMAL CONTROL. VERY DANGEROUS, ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. FOUND OUT THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS A LEAD FRAME RECALL FOR 2012 F 150S. WHY NOT 2014S? WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. WHY HAS THIS MODEL YEAR NOT BEEN RECALLED?
3 TIMES WITHIN A 2 MONTH PERIOD WHILE DRIVING, MY TRUCK DISPLAYED THE WRENCH SYMBOL IN THE EVIC SCREEN AND IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE.(THE MOST RECENT WAS 2-28-18) PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHUT IT DOWN AND RESTARTED. THAN IT WORKED AS NOTHING HAPPENED. THANK GOD I WAS NOT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR TOWING. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
MY REAR WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING HOME. BELIEVED TO BE FROM A REAR DEFROST DEFECTION.
SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING IN THE MORNING AT 8AM AT 65 MILES AN HOUR. NOTHING HIT THE SUNROOF, NO OVER PASSES WERE ANYWHERE NEAR AND NOBODY IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CLOSES VEHICLE WAS MORE THAN 500FT AWAY. HERD LOUD EXPLOSION LIKE SOUND SCARED ME TO WHERE I JERKED THE WHEEL AND NOTHING IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE UNTIL I SLIGHTLY OPENED THE SUNROOF COVER AND NOTICED THE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. ALL WINDOWS WERE UP AND A/C WAS UP. TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE 70'S AND SUNNY. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS WOULD SHATTER BUT IT SHATTERED ALMOST RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE.
TURNED ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON A VERY COLD MORNING AND AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES WHILE DRIVING, THE REAR WINDOW LOUDLY SHATTERED ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT

WHILE TRADING IN THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER (MARK PORTER FORD, 1360 MAYHEW RD, JACKSON, OH 45640) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CURRENT VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN A CRASH. WHILE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2017, THE CONTACT ASKED THE DEALER IF THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A CRASH AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAD NOT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
WIPERS STAY ON IN SLOWEST INTERMITTENT SETTING, WILL NOT TURN OFF! VISIBILITY IS AFFECTED BY WIPERS SMEARING WINDSHIELD.
AFTER TURNING ON MY REAR DEFROST THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED SPRAYING SOME GLASS INTO THE REAR SEAT. THE TRUCK WAS PARKED. THE REAR WINDOW IS A POWER SLIDER AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE FORD WARRANTY. I HAVE A CAMPER COVER SHELL ON MY F150 SO THE REAR WINDOW IS PROTECTED FROM IMPACT. PRIOR TO THE WINDOW BREAKING I HAD NO INDICATIONS OF ISSUES OTHER THAN THE REAR DEFROST OCCASIONALLY REFUSING TO TURN ON.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY 2014 FORD F-150 LOST ALL ENGINE POWER. MY ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT MY GAS PEDDLE WOULD NOT WORK. I WAS PASSING A SEMI TRUCK WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MY DASH BOARD HAD THE LITTLE WRENCH TURNED YELLOW. I TURNED MY ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED AND VEHICLE RAN AGAIN LIKE NOTHING EVERY HAPPED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH SAID VEHICLE. MY TRUCK HAD 35,863 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I WAS TOLD A VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY IT WOULD BE FIXED FOR FREE BUT PARTS ARE ALL ON BACK ORDER. I WAS ADVISED I COULD STILL OPERATE MY TRUCK UNTIL PARTS ARRIVED. TODAY I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND AGAIN MY TRUCK LOST ALL POWER WITH ENGINE STILL RUNNING AGAIN. I WAS AGAIN ABLE TO SHUT VEHICLE DOWN AND RESTART BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON. THIS TIME I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED TRYING TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY. *NOTE: I DID PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE IN CANADA WHILE WORKING IN CANADA FOR THE U.S. DEPT OF STATE SO THIS WILL BE A CANADIAN VIN
DRIVER SIDE HVAC BLEND DOOR FAILURE SEEMS TO BE DEFECTIVE BASED ON NUMBER OF FAILURES. BLOWS ONLY HOT AIR (FULL HEAT).
I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ON. SNOW AND LOW TEMPS WERE HAPPENING AT THE TIME. WHILE DRIVING IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT WENT OFF. I CHECKED MY MIRRORS AND REAR VIEW MIRROR AND THAT'S WHEN I NOTICED THE REAR WINDOW DRIVERS SIDE WAS SHATTERED. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS SITTING THERE. UPON SOME INTERNET SEARCHING THIS IS A WELL KNOWN EVENT FOR F-150 AND FORD STILL HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JIM ROBINSON FORD LINCOLN, 95 ROBINSON DR, TRIADELPHIA, WV 26059) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PRESSURE WAS COMING FROM INSIDE. THE CONTACT CALLED BEACH FORD AT 757-486-2717 AND WAS INFORMED THAT RESEARCH WOULD BE CONDUCTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
REMOTE STARTED MY TRUCK SATURDAY MORNING 2/3/2018 AS I LIVE IN IOWA AND IT IS COLD THIS TIME OF YEAR. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES WENT OUT GOT IN THE TRUCK TURNED IT ON AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND STARTED BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG LIKE A GUNSHOT OR SOMEONE DROPPING A CINDER BLOCK ON MY ROOF. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF SOMETHING HAD HIT MY TRUCK AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. I GOT BACK IN LOOKED OUT MY REAR WINDOW AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. YOU COULD TELL THAT IT WASN'T HIT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FOCAL POINT WHERE SOMEONE OR SOMETHING WOULD HAVE MADE CONTACT. THE ENTIRE THING WAS SHATTERED.
BACK WINDOW EXPLODED WITH NO APPARENT CAUSE AFTER PUTTING DEFROST ON. SHATTERED ON MY 2 MONTH OLD BABY. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL RIGHT AWAY NOT ONLY DID HE ALMOST GET CUT BUT I AM OUT 1000 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SLIDING REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLY!!
SOUNDED LIKE AN EXHAUST LEAK COMING FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT 71604 MILES .. LOSS OF POWER.. NEEDED TO HAVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND GASKET REPLACED 9DRIVERS SIDE).. PREVIOUS ISSUES-- RING AND PINION 62,500, THROTTLE BODY 67900
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH. TRUCK DIED COMPLETELY, DASH FLASHED "PUT INTO PARK" MY 15 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING AND HAS SENCE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL INSTEAD. HE MANUVERED TO THE SHOULDER FROM THE INSIDE LANE. THE TRUCK INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON, BUT NOTHING ELSE. NO POWER TO ANYTHING WHEN KEY IS INSERTED. WE ARE LUCKY WE WEREN'T KILLLED. THIS HAPPENED LAST SATURDAY JANUARY, 27 2018. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND IT WAS AROUND 50 DEGREES. 65,000 MILES ON TRUCK. 2014 F150 ECO- BOOST 3.5

THE WRENCH ICON AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE WAS FAILING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OSS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS UNABLE TO ASSOCIATE THE FAILURE WITH A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DIFFEE FORD LINCOLN (1681 I-40, EL RENO, OK, (405) 262-4546) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS13937768. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID SYSTEM GETS FROZEN DURING 10 OR BELOW WEATHER. I'VE TRIED USING NAME BRAND WIPER FLUID RATED FOR THE WINTER AND EVEN ADDING MORE ALCOHOL. ALSO TRIED CLEANING OUT THE NOZZLES AND POURING WARM WATER. ONLY THING THAT ADDRESSES IT IS PARKING THE VEHICLE IN A HEATED GARAGE. HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY REPLACED THE FLUID WITH THEIR PREFERRED BRAND AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. SO THIS DEFINITELY IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID OR RANDOM CIRCUMSTANCE OF FREEZING NOZZLES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DURING THE WINTER AS ROAD SALT AND GRIME SPRAYS ON TO THE WINDSHIELD AND VISIBILITY DROPS.
IT WAS IN THE TWENTIES DEGREE MARK OUTSIDE. REMOTE STARTED TRUCK. GOT IN THE TRUCK HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. LOOKED AROUND AND MY DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. NO ONE OR ANYONE WAS AROUND WINDOW WHEN IT HAPPENED. FORD WILL NOT REPLACE.
THE COOLANT IN MY VEHICLE HAD LEAKED OUT AT THE FIRST SIGN OF UNUSUALLY COLD WEATHER HERE IN ATLANTA. I HAD TO WAIT A WEEK TO GET THE HOSES/ORINGS TO FIX MY VEHICLE BECAUSE FORD CO. REPORTED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE BECAUSE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES THAT HAD THE SAME FAILING PARTS WERE TRYING TO ORDER DURING THE COLD WEATHER LAST WEEK. NOW THAT IS IS REPLACED, IT IS STILL LEAKING THE COOLANT OUT. MY MECHANIC SAYS LEAKING THIS MUCH COOLANT IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO IT HARMING ENGINE/MOTOR AND VEHICLE FIRE. THE HOSES AND O RINGS LAST WEEK THAT THEY PUT ON MAY ALSO BE COMPROMISED., AS THEY ARE LEAKING TOO. SURE WOULD LIKE TO BRING THIS TO ATTENTION OF FORD CO.
ON JANUARY 9, 2018 I USED MY REMOTE STARTER TO START MY TRUCK, WHICH I HAVE SET TO TURN ON THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS ALONG WITH THE SEAT HEATERS. THE TRUCK RAN ROUGHLY 15 MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING FOR WORK. UPON MY ARRIVAL (APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES LATER), I PARKED, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND GOT OUT. WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR, I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE ICE FALLING OFF THE TRUCK. KNOWING THERE WASN'T ANY ICE BUILD UP, I WALKED AROUND TO SEE THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED AND PIECES OF GLASS WERE FALLING OUT.
USED REMOTE START THIS MORNING TO WARM UP THE TRUCK, WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED DUE TO SOMETHING WITH THE REAR DEFROST.
WARPED EXHAUST MANIFOLD RESULTING IN BROKEN MANIFOLD STUD, EXHAUST LEAK AND EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE
REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER SLIDER BROKE AFTER COLD MORNING WHEN I TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER IN THE DRIVEWAY. THIS OCCURRED WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOUSE AFTER USING THE REMOTE START TO WARM IT UP. CAN NOT NOTICE ANYTHING FROM THE OUTSIDE, BUT THE INSIDE LOOKS SHATTERED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN PROMPTED FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. VANCOUVER FORD IN VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WARPED EXHAUST MANIFOLD 2 TIMES NOW WITHIN 6 MONTHS. 38K AND 44K MILES. EXHAUST LEAKS INTO CAB OF TRUCK WHEN UNDER LOAD AND MAKES A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE HESITATED DUE TO CONDENSATION ACCUMULATING IN THE MOTOR. ORLEANS FORD (1405 S MAIN ST, MEDINA, NY) WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
TURNED ON REAR DEFROSTER AND DRIVERS SIDE REAR GLASS SPIDER WEB CRACKED AND MADE A NOISE SIMILAR TO A GUN SHOT, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THE EXTERIOR TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 20 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT.
I USED THE REMOTE START TO WARM UP THE TRUCK AND WHEN I GOT INTO THE TRUCK TO GO TO WORK I SAW THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. I WAS COMPLETELY BAFFLED AS TO HOW THIS HAPPENED AS THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS THAT ANYTHING STRUCK THE WINDOW. I WENT ONLINE AND SAW THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH FORD F150'S. I'M LUCKY IT DIDN'T SHATTER WHILE I WAS DRIVING OR WHILE MY KIDS OR GRANDKIDS WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 19,000 MILES ON IT.
MY REAR DEFROST CAUSED MY WINDOW TO SHATTER THEN IT STARTED MELTING THE PLASTIC AROUND THE WINDOW. SMOKING AND BURNING. I HAD JUST LEFT MY HOME IT WAS 40 DEGREES IN SOUTH CAROLINA HAD THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROST ON. AT A STOP LIGHT I HEARD IT POP AND SMOKE WAS POURING AROUND THE REAR WINDOW. IT CONTINUED TO SMOKE AND BURN EVEN AFTER I TURNED THE DEFROST AND THE COMFORT SYSTEM OFF.

IT IS DONE THIS ABOUT 10 TIMES AND A TWO-WEEK TIME FRAME I CAN STOP MY TRUCK TURN IT OFF WAIT A MINUTE START IT BACK UP AND IT'LL DO FINE FOR A COUPLE HOURS SOMETIMES A DAY AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN
THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE RIGHT REAR DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. DOES NOT MATTER IF THE ENGINE IS ON, THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STOPPED. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE PASSENGER ON THIS SIDE CAN NOT ESCAPE IN AN EMERGENCY.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE REAR DEFOGGER WAS BEING OPERATED AT THE TIME OF THE REMOTE START. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO SECURE THE WINDOW WITH TAPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOHN KENNEDY FORD - FEASTERVILLE LOCATED AT 620 BUSTLETON PIKE, FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE, PA 19053 FOR REPAIRS BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE REAR GLASS SHATTERING WAS A KNOWN FORD FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
