AT LOW SPEEDS (15-30 MILES PER HOUR) THE STEERING WHEEL GRABS AND LOCKS UP AND YOU HAVE TO FORCE IT TO TURN BY PUSHING THE WHEEL HARDER. JIM CLICK FORD DETERMINED THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THE STEERING WOULD COMPLETELY LOCK UP.
CHROME GRILL AND FRONT BUMPER ON 2.7L MODEL DEFECTIVE. DISCOLORED IN A RANDOM PATTERN LIKE A LIQUID WAS SPLASHED ON THEM. REPLACEMENTS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN WAITING MONTHS TO HAVE THESE PARTS REPLACED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT ROAD SPEED (~45MPH) THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN APPLIED PROVIDED LITTLE TO NO BRAKING. THE PEDAL HAD NO RESISTANCE AND WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THIS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE WORST OF WHICH WAS WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT AN INTERSECTION. THIS INTERSECTION WAS LOCATED IN A 40 MPH ZONE ON A SOMEWHAT BUSY STREET. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND PROVIDED NO STOPPING RESISTANCE. THE VEHICLE ROLLED INTO INTERSECTION WHICH CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION INCLUDING PUMPING THE BRAKES AND VEERING OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DON'T REMEMBER IF THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE INTERSECTION. AFTER THIS OCCURANCE I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY A PROBLEM WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER WITHIN 24HRS AND THEN SPEND THE NEXT 17 DAYS TRYING TO OBTAIN THE PART FROM THE MANUFACTURE. SINCE THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED I HAVE HAD NO ADDITIONAL OCCURRENCES OF THIS TYPE
VEHICLE ENTERED "LIMP MODE" AT SPEED ON INTERSTATE, LOSS OF POWER. THIS OCCURRED AT 5K MILES AND AFTER BEING REPAIRED, OCCURRED AT 12K MILES. BOTH TIME DIAGNOSED BY FORD DEALER AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 70 MPH AND SUDDENLY HAD TO APPLY MY BRAKES BECAUSE A CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED SUDDENLY AND WHEN I DID THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND STOPPED AS IF I WAS BARELY PUSHING THE BRAKES. I HAD TO PUSH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I ALMOST HAD A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND IF I HAD NOT SWERVED OFF THE ROAD I WOULD HAD HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT CLOSE TO 60 MPH AND MY VEHICLE GAVE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR OTHER INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG EVEN AFTER I FOUND THE ISSUE WHICH IS VERY TROUBLING. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO FORD AND AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS DETERMINED THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN I ASKED FORD IF THEY REPLACED IT WITH A NEW PART THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE DEFECTIVE LINE THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THEY REPLACED IT WITH A NEW MASTER CYLINDER BUT IT STILL HAS POTENTIAL TO FAIL AS IT IS PART OF THE DEFECTIVE LINE THAT IS CAUSING THESE ISSUES AND FORD DOES NOT HAVE ANY OTHER WAY OF FIXING IT. I AM SERIOUSLY CONCERNED WITH MINE AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE AS I HAVE A BOAT AND OTHER THINGS I TOW FROM TIME TO TIME AND MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME. I AM CONCERNED SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE INJURED OR DIE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I ALMOST HAD A VERY BAD ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AS I HAVE TRIED TO SPEAK WITH FORD TO GET A NEW VEHICLE OR SWAP FOR SOMETHING SAFER BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANYTHING ACCOMPLISHED BESIDES GETTING THE RUN AROUND. I HAVE HAD MY 5.0 LITER V8 2016 F-150 FOR ALMOST 4 MONTHS AND 7000 MILES AND BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW WITH 2 MILES ON IT.
WHILE APPLYING BRAKES THE PEDAL TRAVELS EXCESSIVELY UNTIL IT CONTACTS THE FLOOR BOARD. AS A RESULT, BRAKE APPLICATION IS LOST. CONTACTED FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE MASTER CYLINDER IS DEFECTIVE. THIS VEHICLE IS A 2016 FORD F150 WITH A 5.0LITER ENGINE AND EQUIPPED WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 14,045 MILES. THIS IS ONE OF NINE VEHICLES OF EXACT MAKE AND MODEL WE EMPLOY IN OUR FLEET AND ONE OF TWO WITH THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,400.
DRIVING AT LEGAL LIMIT SPEEDS, WHEN HITTING IMPERFECTIONS IN THE ROADS, FRONT END/SUSPENSION HOPS VIOLENTLY (ALMOST FEELING LIKE IT'S TAKING THE WHEEL AWAY FROM YOU) LEADING TO DIFFICULTY IN REACTING AND CORRECTING SAFELY IN ORDER TO RIGHT VEHICLE IN LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY IN A MULTITUDE OF DRIVING SITUATIONS. GOING STRAIGHT, TURNING, DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75MPH AND DOWN TO 45MPH. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY VEHICLE I'VE OWNED BEFORE, INCLUDING FORD'S EQUIPPED ALMOST IDENTICALLY.
BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BARELY WORKING WITH NO WARNING ON A BUSY STREET AT A STOPLIGHT. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY VERIFIED PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER. TRUCK ONLY HAD 16,000 MILES
BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING POWER. WHEN TRYING TO STOP. AT STOP LIGHT PEDAL WOULD GO TO FLOOR. I THINK REAR BRAKES WORKING BUT FRONTS NOT. RECALL ON 2013'S 14'S AND 15'S I THINK. SAME PROBLEM WITH 16'S. FORD SAYS NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON MASTER CYLINDERS, 4 WEEKS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING IN THE EXPRESS LANE, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SERVICE LANE AND THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND POWER BOOST WERE DEFECTIVE. A REMEDY WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,300.
SUDDEN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES, ON CITY STREET WHILE GOING APPROX 30MPH
7K MILES ON THE CAR AND THE BRAKES FAIL, NEEDS NEW MASTER CYLINDER. OTHER F150 AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP WITH 3K MILES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE WHILE DRIVING AROUND 25 MPH, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE WAS IDLING ROUGH. WAS ABLE TO DRIFT OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TURNED ENGINE OFF THEN ON WITH NO CHANGE, TURNED OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND THROTTLE WORKED NORMALLY BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. DROVE RIGHT TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE BODY.
TRUCK HAS 13800 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL SUNK TO THE FIREWALL. COMPLETED LOSS OF BRAKING. RELEASED THE PEDAL AND BRAKES WORKED. AGAIN ISSUE WAS ABLE TO BE DEMONSTRATED TO DEALER AND WAS INTERMITTENT. WHILE SITTING STATIONARY IF BRAKES WERE APPLIED WITH PRESSURE THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD TRAVEL TO FLOOR.
PULLING TO INTERSECTION ON TWO OCCASIONS BRAKE PEDDLE GOES TO FLOOR. LIFT PEDDLE AFTER PUTTING CAR IN PARK AND BRAKES RECOVERED. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN JUNE AND HAS 7000 MILES. DEALER SAID CUSTOMER CONCERN COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED.
BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY WENT TO FLOOR APPROACHING TRAFFIC IF LIGHT! HAD TO MAKE EMERGENCY TURN INTO A PARKING LOT TO PREVENT BEING CRASHED. DEALER DETERMINED THAT MY F-150 HAS A DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDER. HOWEVER, SO FAR A WEEK LATER, FORD MOTOR MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT SHIP A NEW REPLACEMENT! IRRESPONSIBLE! FIX IT FORD -NOW!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP ABRUPTLY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL SLIGHTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHEN THE CONTACT LIFTED THE ALUMINUM COVERING ON THE BED OF THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED A LARGE HOLE. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM TO COVER THE HOLE WITH PLYWOOD OR TO PAY FOR A BEDLINER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO HAVE A REGIONAL MANAGER CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900.
I WAS TRAVELING PULLING A TRAILER CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND COULD NOT STOP, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. TURNED TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, PUT IN GEAR AND HAD BRAKES, VERY SCARY, DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED IT. FOUND OUT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON 2013-14 MASTER CYL, NOW I AM WAITING 7 WEEKS FOR REPLACEMENT.
BRAKE FAILURE. PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR BOARD WITH LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. I WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH ON SLIGHT GRADE. I APPLIED BRAKE PRESSURE FOR 10 SECONDS DOWN THE GRADE. AS I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN I APPLIED STOPPING PRESSURE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT SOFT AND WHEN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO KEEP ME FROM GOING INTO THE INTERSECTION. THE BRAKES THEN SEEM TO WORK. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED THERE IS PROBLEM WITH SOME VIN'S BUT MY IS NOT ONE OF THEM REGARDING THE MASTER CYLINDER. I WAS ALSO TOLD MORE BRAND NEW F-150 ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. MY FAMILY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IT IS SITTING AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE TRYING TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM..

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD OF MONTEBELLO (LOCATED AT 2747 VIA CAMPO, MONTEBELLO, CA 90640, (323) 358-2880), BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. MY 2016 F-150 HAS INTERMITTENT STEERING AND HANDLING ISSUES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES OF TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL ON THIS VEHICLE. THE MOST SEVERE WAS WHEN COMING OUT OF A GRADUAL TURN TO THE RIGHT AT 65 MPH. WHEN BRINGING THE TRUCK BACK STRAIGHT, I FELT SOMETHING SLIDE IN THE FRONT AXLE AND IT FELT AS IF THE RIGHT WHEEL WAS FALLING OFF. THE STEERING FELT AS IF IT WASN'T CONNECTED DURING THIS EPISODE, AND THE TRUCK DID NOT RESPOND TO MY STEERING INPUTS. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR EVENTS HAPPEN AT ALL SPEEDS FROM 20 MPH TO 65 MPH. THE STEERING ALSO PULLS TO THE RIGHT AFTER TURNS AND INTERMITTENTLY LOSES POWER ASSIST. SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEEL CAN BARELY BE TURNED WITH ENORMOUS EFFORT, OTHER TIMES IT FEELS SLACK AND LOOSE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THIS UNSAFE STEERING AS WELL AS A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT 4WD HUB. THREE UNSUCESSFUL REPAIR ATTEMPTS WERE MADE FOR THE RIGHT 4WD HUB, BUT NO MENTION OF THE STEERING SAFETY CHECK I REQUESTED SEVERAL TIMES WAS EVER MADE. FURTHERMORE, THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NON RESPONSIVE TO MY REQUEST TO GET A FORD REP INVOLVED TO CORRECTLY FIX MY TRUCK. I AM UNCERTAIN WHETHER THE STEERING/ HANDLING PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE DEFECTIVE 4WD HUB OR BY THE STEERING RACK OR COLUMN. BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN INCREASE IN THESE STEERING EVENTS, AND I DEEM THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE, I HAVE PARKED THE TRUCK SINCE AUGUST 22ND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
2016 FORD F-150 2.7L ECOBOOST MODEL WITH ONLY 3,928 MILES. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME ENGINE HAS CUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING/ACCELERATING! WAS TAKING A LEFT TURN FROM SIDE ROAD ONTO MAIN ROAD. WHILE ACCELERATING IN THE TURN, ENGINE STARTED STUTTERING A FEW TIMES (RPMS WOULD DIP) AND THEN IT STALLED OUT. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE MY LEFT HAND TURN WITHOUT GETTING HITTING BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. THIS TIME AROUND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD TO CALL FORD'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THE LAST TWO INSTANCES THE DEALER COULD NOT PULL A CODE OR DIAGNOSE WHAT WAS WRONG SO NOTHING WAS DONE. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAS A DEAD TRUCK ON ARRIVAL SO THEY CAN'T TELL ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT (SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTICS HAS YET TO BE COMPLETED AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING). I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH FORD REGIONAL REP REGARDING MY CASES AND I AM TOLD THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THE DEALER CAN DIAGNOSE WHAT THE ROOT CAUSE IS. OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS WRONG. THERE ARE DOZENS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS OF ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 FORD F-150. THE DRIVER WAS ALERTED TO AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR. UPON INSPECTION, THE DRIVER OBSERVED FLAMES COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX OF THE VEHICLE. MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.

VEHICLE LOOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING DURING ROUTINE DRIVING AND CANNOT BE RECOVERED. WARNINGS ON DASHBOARD DISPLAY SHOW "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "HILL START ASSIST" ALONG WITH ALL ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. PRESSING DOWN ON GAS PEDAL DOES NOTHING, MUST PULL OVER AND TURN OFF IGNITION AND TURN BACK ON TO RESTORE POWER. HAPPENS NUMEROUS TIMES AND RANDOMLY. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY A STEADY 60 MPH. WITHOUT WARNING POWER LOSS AND NO RESPONSE TO ACCELERATOR. ERROR CODE P2111
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE LEVEL TERRAIN AND A STATIONARY CRUISE AT 70 MPH, THE WRENCH ICON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED WITH A MESSAGE TO "SEE MANUAL" AT THE SAME TIME THE ENGINE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL INPUT. THE LIMP HOME MODE WAS NOT WORKING AND WE COULD NOT GET THE TRUCK MOVING AGAIN AFTER STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE IGNITION OFF FOR ABOUT 2 MIN WHILE I LOOKED UP THE WARNING LIGHTS IN THE MANUAL (ONLY STATED TO SEE DEALER IMMEADIATLY) AFTERWARDS WE WERE ABLE TO START AND DRIVE THE TRUCK TO THE NEXT EXIT AND HOME APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS ENCOUNTER AND WERE ALMOST HIT BY 2 SEMI TRUCKS WHILE TRYING TO COAST OVER TO THE SHOULDER. WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE NEW AND HAD 8,827 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE SHUT DOWN.
COMING UP TO A STOP LIGHT ON A SECONDARY ROAD, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, BARELY STOPPING. I HAD TO SWERVE ONTO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID HITTING A VEHICLE STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. PUMPING THE PEDAL BROUGHT UP SOME PRESSURE, BUT THEN THE PEDAL WOULD SLOWLY GO TO THE FLOOR.
DRIVING HOME ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN FOR STOPPED TRAFFIC AND MY FOOT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD . I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND SWERVED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING TRAFFIC AT 70 MPH . ONCE I GOT SLOWED DOWN MY BRAKES WORKED AGAIN . I PROCEEDED ON THINKING IT WAS A FREAK INCIDENT BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT HAPPENED TWICE MORE ON MY WAY HOME . THEY WOULD WORK FOR 5 OR 6 TIMES AND THEN THEY WOULD FAIL AGAIN . I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND PARKED IT . THEY CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILING AND IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM . "A KNOWN PROBLEM!" WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ? I COULD OF KILLED SOMEBODY.
MY TRUCK IS A 2016 F150 WITH 4053 MILES. THE VEHICLE HAS A 5.0 V8 AND 7 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW, THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND THE SIGNAL LIGHT TURNED RED. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WAS NOT STOPPING, ONLY SLOWING. I DOWNSHIFTED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND PUMPED THE BRAKES BEFORE FINALLY STOPPING. THIS OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO A FORD DEALER LESS THAN 2 MILES AWAY AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS THE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH OF COURSE IS NOT IN STOCK. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, EARLIER MODELS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. APPARENTLY, FORD HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!
TRUCK WAS RUNNING NORMAL NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS,MAKING RT. HAND TURN ONTO HIGHWAY TRUCK STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL QUITE WORKING LOTS OF DASH WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND TRUCK WOULD ONLY IDLE,USED HAZARDS TO IDLE OFF HIGHWAY , SHUT OFF IGNITION AND RESTARTED TRUCK STILL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE,LET TRUCK IDLE IN GEAR TO GET OFF HIGHWAY,LET TRUCK SIT OVER NIGHT AND TRIED TO DRIVE NEXT MORNING STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEN QUITE IDLE ONLY CALLED TO HAVE TOWED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR,DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY.
TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKE PEDAL, FIRST LEARNED OF THE PROBLEM MAKING A HARD RIGHT/LEFT TURN AND HIT BRAKES. WENT TO THE FLOOR. DRIVING ON INTERSTATE TAP THE BRAKES AND THEY SEEM TO BE OK, THEN GOES TO FLOOR. VERY UNSAFE YET NO RECALL. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY 4300 MILES.
ENGINE AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMP, FROM A STOP ACCELERATED ONTO HIGHWAY BUT BEFORE REACHING 50 MPH TRUCK QUITE ACCELERATING AND WENT TO IDLE CHECK ENGINE AND OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT DEAD WOULD NOT DO ANY THING WHEN PUSHED.SEMI TRUCK AND TRAFFIC COMING FROM BEHIND HAD TO DO EVASIVE DRIVING TO AVOID CRASHING INTO TRUCK, TRUCK IDLE WITH HAZARDS ON TO SAFE AREA TO PULL OFF HIGHWAY. CALLED TOW TRUCK TO TOW TO DEALERSHIP ,DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY TO REPAIR.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HIS NEW 2016 F150 WHEN THE TRUCK LOST POWER AND THE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT CAME ON. HE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY AND WENT FROM 65 MPH - 40 MPH IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. HE HAD TO NAVIGATE TO THE EDGE OF THE HIGHWAY AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT IT WAS THE ACTUATOR THROTTLE BEING STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THE BODY WAS REPLACED AFTER A WEEK AT THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT THIS CAN CAUSE A AUTO TO REDUCE SPEED SO QUICKLY. THANKFULLY IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR REPORT IN THE TRUCK. WOULD BE HAPPY TO PROVIDE A COPY.

I PURCHASED THIS 2016 FORD F150 TO TOW MY TRAILER. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FORD MAX TOW PACKAGE. THIS TRUCK WILL NOT SAFELY TOW MY TRAILER. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE HANKOOK TIRES. THE TIRES CAUSE THE TRUCK TO "HUNT" AND SWERVE WHILE DRIVING ON STRAIGHT ROAD. THE TIRES ARE SEEKING THE GROOVES IN THE ROAD AND MAKE THE TRUCK DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. WHEN THE TRAILER IS CONNECTED TO THE TRUCK, THE PROBLEM BECOMES SO SEVERE THAT THE TRUCK CANNOT BE SAFELY OPERATED. WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK IN NO WIND, THE TRUCK SWERVES AS IF THE WIND IS GUSTING FROM THE SIDE. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS TRUCK WITH THE SERVICE DIRECTOR AND THE SHOP FOREMAN AND THEY BOTH AGREE THAT THE TRUCK HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TIRES., FORD REFUSES TO ASSIST IN THIS MATTER.
WAS STOPPED AT RED LIGHT IN GREENSBORO NC. LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO DRIVE STRAIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WHEN THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE. I HAD TO FINISH GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION BY MOMENTUM OF THE VEHICLE AND GRAVITY SINCE THERE WAS NO POWER. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE AT THE INTERSECTION OR I'M SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. WAS TOLD BY LOCAL FORD DEALER, GREEN FORD, PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE "THROTTLE BODY". 2ND FORD VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN IN, IN LESS THAN A MONTH, THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED (2015 F150-SAME DEFECT - THROTTLE BODY). HUGE CONCERN FOR SAFETY OF THOSE OF US WHO DRIVE FORDS.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE 157 MILES FROM HOME I HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE HAD NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY MOVE ABOUT 3-5 MILES PER HOUR. VERY DANGEROUS WAS CROSSING A LARGE BUSY INTERSECTION ALMOST GOT HIT BUT ANOTHER VEHICLE.
INSTALLED NEW FRONT BUMPERS FROM RANCH HAND CORPORATION SHINER,TX 18003669712 THEY SAID ALL THE SAFETY FEATURES WOULD WORK AND THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE. IT DOESN'T AND A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I JUST WANT THEM TO HONOR WHAT THEY SAID THEY SOLD AND TO HAVE SAFETY FEATURES. I CALLED THEM AND NOT VERY HELPFUL AT ALL AND RUSH ME OFF THE PHONE.
SECOND TIME ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS!!! 2016 FORD F-150 XLT 2.7L ECO-BOOST MODEL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE ENGINE HAS STALLED AND SHUT OFF DURING DRIVING! NOT EVEN 3,600 MILES ON IT YET. TYPICAL STOP AND GO TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR. WENT TO ACCELERATE AFTER ROLLING ALONG WITH TRAFFIC (<10 MPH) AND NOTHING HAPPENS. TACHOMETER STAYS AT AROUND 500 RPM AND DOES NOT GO ANYWHERE. SINCE THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPEN WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS SO I WASN'T TOO SURPRISED THIS TIME AROUND. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND SHUT OFF IGNITION AND TRY CRANKING IT. RPMS WOULD BARELY STUTTER AROUND 400-500 RPM AND WOULD NOT STAY ON. TRIED A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS WHILE STILL ROLLING IN NEUTRAL. I HAD TO BRAKE TO A STOP, PUT IT IN PARK, AND HAD ATTEMPTED TO CRANK IT SEVERAL MORE TIMES UNTIL IT FINALLY STARTED UP AND WAS IDLING CORRECTLY AROUND 800-900 RPM. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY. DEALER SAYS OEM HAS KNOWN ISSUE WITH THROTTLE BODY CAUSING FORD VEHICLES TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. UNFORTUNATELY, DEALER SAYS MY VIN IS NOT PART OF VEHICLE MODELS AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. OBVIOUSLY IT IS HAPPENING TO THE 2016 F150S. BOTH OF MY INCIDENTS DID NOT THROW A CODE SO THERE SEEMS TO BE NOTHING DEALER CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR THE MOMENT. I DO NOT WANT TO KEEP DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS DEFECTIVE PART AND UNSAFE CONDITION, ESPECIALLY WITH MY INFANT SON IN THE REAR CAB.

I HAD JUST LEFT MY HOUSE AND REACHED THE MAIN INTERSECTION OF KELLOGG (HIGHWAY 54) AND OLIVER TO TURN WEST ONTO THE RAMP TO GET ON KELLOGG WHERE THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC IS 60MPH. I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP NORTH OF KELLOGG ON OLIVER. AS I PRESSED MY FOOT ON THE BREAK PEDAL TO STOP AT THE LIGHT, MY FOOT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I COASTED INTO THE INTERSECTION AND DIRECTED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TOWARDS THE ON RAMP. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH SINCE I HADN'T EVEN REACHED 35MPH AND PUT MY HAZARDS LIGHTS ON AND PLACED MY TRUCK IN PARK. I WAS CONVINCED SOMEONE HAD TAMPERED WITH MY BRAKES AND THEY WERE TRYING TO KILL ME! I FRANTICALLY CALLED MY BOYFRIEND WHO WAS ABLE TO CALM ME DOWN ENOUGH TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. I HAD ONLY HAD MY BRAND NEW TRUCK FOR LESS THAN A MONTH! IT IS CURRENTLY AT A FORD DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED AND HAS BEEN THERE FOR ALMOST A MONTH. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR REPAIR ARE ON BACKORDER. I RESEARCHED AND SAW THAT THE FORD F-150 TRUCKS IN 2013 AND 2014 HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR FAULTY MASTER CYLINDERS. I ASSUMED THAT BY NOW FORD WOULD HAVE CORRECTED THE ISSUE BUT CLEARLY THEY HAVE NOT.
