Was driving down the interstate, heading home. Then the truck starting shaking violently and misfiring bad. Took to a shop. Come to find out I Loss compression in my engine while on the interstate. Which caused horrible vibration. And very poor dieverably. Ending up needing an engine replacement at 121,00 miles. And cost 14,000 to do. Happened in February and still waiting for the engine replacement to be done. Ford is behind on motors.

Transmission will randomly downshift while driving or stay in a certain gear without shifting down or up resulting in unexpected power loss. Is sporadic in occurrences sometimes several times in a short drive other times a week without incident
The 3.5 Ecoboost engine began making metal rattling on cold startups. Was told the cam phasers needed replacement. Was told no longer under warranty. I have located a customer satisfaction program 21N03. This program replaced these cam phasers under warranty, however only up until January 1, 2023. My truck had just under the 69,999. At 68,204 miles. However outside the January 2023 date. I don't understand why I would be punished because my vehicle has a low mileage yearly use. Ford had acknowledged with again the customer satisfaction program 21N03. Again I feel punished because I did not drive a lot of miles. Bill was $3983.84. In the program they would proration up to 89,999 miles, but again out of the window.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission fluid was flushed, and the filter was replaced. The failure recurred approximately 8 months later. On another occasion, while driving 65 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to first gear and flashed between drive(D) and manual(M), and the rear tires locked up. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired, but the transmission fluid was checked by an independent mechanic, who observed a full reservoir. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000.
After takimg.my ford to the dealership to correct the frozen door latch issue , my doors are still latching. This is a serious safety issue as the door will not latch properly and you have to hold the door closed to get the vehicle home. All 4 doors experience this latch issue. I have had to tie my door closed with a cell phone charger cord just to get the vehicle home. This is unacceptable with the price of vehicles
Rear view camera shuts off intermittently or shows a degraded image while backing up which creates a safety hazard because I almost crash into objects or other vehicles due to limited visibility.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
During a cold weather spell in January 2024, after opening the driver door, it failed to latch when I attempted to close it. This would seem to be the same problem listed under: Manufacturer Recall Number17S33 NHTSA Recall Number17V652 Summary ON YOUR VEHICLE, A FROZEN DOOR LATCH, OR A BENT OR KINKED DOOR LATCH ACTUATION CABLE, MAY RESULT IN A DOOR THAT WILL NOT OPEN, WILL NOT CLOSE, OR OPENS WHILE DRIVING CONDITION. However, when I checked, my vehicle is not listed under this recall.

In addition, the contact stated that the digital screen displayed a blue or colorful distorted image. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic; however, the failure was not able to be duplicated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired due to the failure not being duplicated. Upon further investigation, the contact' wife related the failure to an unknown NHTSA recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
I have a Ford F-150 Supercab. When tried to leave to pick up my daughter during a snow storm (temperature was around 26 degrees), I found that I could not close the passenger door. I thought the latch may have sprung shut but found it to be opened but would not close around the "D" link of the back passenger door (it would rotate but not lock into place). I had to get someone else to pick her up. I had to use a cargo strap inside (around the door handle and seat) to keep the door closed to be able to go to work the next morning (not the safest thing to do but, I could not wait two weeks until Ford could look at it). When the weather got a little warmer (around 36 degrees) the door acted normally. A few days later we had temperatures in the low 20s and the issue reappeared. There were two reasons I knew that one of the doors had issues closing: 1) warning system that states that a door was ajar and 2) the interior light was on. I contacted Ford of La Plata, Maryland but they said that the VIN number is not part of the recall. When I asked if I could buy the parts to fix the issue myself, they said that the parts do not exist since my truck is not part of the recall.
I had the recall repaired on my 2017 F150 in 2022, for the freezing door latches not latching and letting the door stay closed. I did have issues with it in ’23 but it was only once or twice and I didn’t do anything about it. I had issues with the latching again this winter (Jan. 2024) and had a new problem where the door would not UNLOCK and just brought it into Ford to maybe have them do a recall fix on latches again on it but they said there is nothing they can do. It is our only vehicle right now and my wife is currently pregnant and my main concern is us needing to leave in an emergency and not being able to get the doors open because of the locks or then having them not able to stay shut cause the latches won’t work.
Driving from church with grandchildren in back seat and drivers side rear door came open on its own. Took several attempts to get it to latch back. Now door will not open.
Door lock fails. I have to climb out windows to exit vehicle in an emergency. The locks are frozen.
When I use the brakes, the doors open and passengers fall on the roadway. Then get struck by passing vehicles. It hurts when getti ng run over. Plus it sucks when the doors open randomly in traffic.
Door opens but will not latch and hold when you shut the door.

Very scary and I was only going about 25 mph. Had I been in a freeway it could’ve been much worse. Transmission display started glitching in and out. Truck started shifting on its own violently, even screeching its tires at one point. It could not decide what gear it was supposed to be in. I pulled over and turned truck off. Attempted to restart but truck would not start because it apparently did not think it was in park. Tow truck showed up. Vehicle then started and check engine light appeared. Truck was towed to Ford dealer-transmission control module deemed bad and had to be replaced. Problem had happened weekend before and check engine light came on. I took to auto zone right next to where I was and they pulled the code “P0706.” But code was cleared and check engine light went off. I managed to make it home and called ford and told them what truck was doing. They told me there was nothing they could do without the check engine light on to diagnose it and to keep driving it until it happened again and the check engine light came on. The next weekend was the first time I had attempted to drive it because I did not feel safe in it.

Cam Phaser and Oil Pan, failure do the manufacturers defective parts and applications
the transmission has had a few problems, but it started to not go into gear and I almost got destroyed by a large truck pulling out of my road since my truck would not go out of 1st gear and then all of a sudden jumped to 4th gear and took off.
On12.26.23 I entered my 2017 F150, closed the door, and the rear window shattered, causing glass to enter the back seat- falling on my child who was seated in the rear. I called the local Ford dealership because my truck is under warranty to 100,000 miles. The dealership said they refer people with that problem to a local glass shop. I took it there to be repaired, total cost with tax was $1067.00 There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to this happening. ***this submittal has an area to attached the service invoice- this function will not work for me, but I do have the invoice if needed.

Rear back sliding windows falls out of track and window falls out.
On cold days, general below 30 degrees, the drivers door will not latch. After the temperature warms, the door will latch. This renders the truck useless for 4 months of the year where we live. I have seen recalls on other Ford F150 for the door latch. But there are no active recalls for my truck. This is a major safety issue. Especially if the truck door comes unlatched while driving.
The driver side door would not unlock by either using the key fob or manually using the key in the door. This seem to occur in cold weather. It was 20F this morning and the vehicle was parked outdoors. This has occurred multiple time, so I though I’d report. If by chance the door unlocks, the latching mechanism will not function, nor will the locking of the door, so can’t drive until the car is well warmed up, usually 20 minutes of idling with the heater on. I have backed out of my driveway and the door is not latched, and opened when turning right.

The lead frame on valve body in transmission, most fords have this recall, truck gets stuck in gear
My F150 has been diagnosed to have faulty cam phasers which is a known problem. Ford claims my truck is not part of their recall. The year and where it was manufactured fits the criteria of the initial recall. Ford is unwilling to recognize the fault cam phasers.
I have a 2017 Ford F150 XLT four-wheel-drive super crew that the oil pan is now needing to be changed for a third time I first took it for its first oil change in 2018 on May 24, 2018. The oil pan was replaced again I took it for an oil change it was leaking again and was changed on March 17, 2021 now today November 8, 2023 I take it again to be have the oil changed and I find out that it is leaking again. I was informed that the dealership is not responsible to replace it a third time. This is a defective oil pan evidently for this make and model and I don’t feel it’s right that I should have to pay approximately $1200 to have it replaced for a third time, I would like to see or have someone call me to explain to me why I should be paying for something that has already been replaced twice. This is a defect and it should be a recall. The dealership said it’s not the first one that is doing this but so far no one knows who to call at Ford corporate in order to find out how to get Ford to replace it for free. I have owned nothing but Fords in my life I do all my oil changes on a regular basis at the Ford dealership. At this rate I will have to change out that plastic oil pan approx every 2.5 years.

while driving i went to turn into a driveway of a busy restraint and the steering assist stopped working and i almost lost control of the vehicle. this i notice has been reported a lot as well as complained about online it is apparent nothing is going to get done to make ford fix it even if someone gets killed, how can this not be a safety issue $$$ something needs investigated $$$ maybe even the $$$ investigators $$$ claiming there is$$$ no problem.

It is a known defect in the 2.7 ecoboost engine that the driver side turbo oil supply line fails, causing engine oil to pool during a start up after a cold soak. The smoke produced causes several safety risks. 1. The smoke obstructs the rear camera. 2. The carcinogenic smoke causes a health and environmental hazard 3. The burning of oil can also lead to excessive parts wear and possible engine failure, which, given at the right time, could lead to injury. There are countless cases all over. When I notified the dealership they informed me it is a repair left at the responsibility of the consumer.
